Got an offer from Oando as a trainee but am presently practicing as an engineer with an Oil servicing firm. the truth is that am actually enjoying my present job though the pay aint worth it.
So I need some suggestions on what to do. Any hint on Oando's entry level take home pay would be welcome.
I would also want to know the career opportunities offered by Oando or any details that would be of help to me.
You guys are great.
RomanceRe: Sex On First Date by ratiken(m): 4:09pm On Sep 19, 2007
One of those posts where landers are saints.
Lets try to be real when posts like this come and not portray an ideal situation.

For me, I could wait for years to get just one crush and i can leave afterwards if i don't dig the personality she is made of. Secondly, I've learnt that those chics that play d hard to get games could still be playing such with numerous guys. And as such, when u r just starting d game, someone somewhere could be getting same cruch after a long patient wait. So what difference does it make if its sex on first date when u could still cheat on me after all protocols has been observed.
What matters is the kind of people involved cos I've seen people fall in luv with sluts. It takes some maturity and reality to view from this angle.
I still stand to be corrected.

uspry1, ThiefOfHearts, FactorChic and Omega25red.
I don't think u peeps are helping this guy. This is a broken heart yearning for help and all you guys could mutter is dat he has fooled himself for 9 yrs if i actually understood ur posts.
Harrizon
You have no option than pick ur pieces and face your future. Remember that God your creator always wants the best for you and wouldn't want you go through all this unnecessarily. Maybe this is the price you are to pay for choosing the wrong person for 9 yrs. I can assure you that the best is closer than u expect if what i read is your entire story. Sometimes, it takes a closed door to open another. Also some stumbling stones are stepping stones when you are ready to surmount them. so brace up cos life is good.
For Me
I have learned to keep playing and never take on serious relationships until am ready to settle down.(translated as: Keep breaking available hearts until am ready to settle down). I stand to be corrected.
EducationRe: Bad Things You Did In Secondary School? by ratiken(m): 11:56am On Sep 19, 2007
I was a saint all thru primary school but it was a different ball game in secondary school. Thanks to FGC Okigwe.

In my junior days, me and my friends will do anything to avoid labour, early morning joggings and preps. It ranged from hiding in the ceiling, in the locker, spending d nite in the bush etc. I vividly remembered the night we crept into VP's house to spend the night, ransacked his kitchen to quench our hunger and he was almost scared out his skin when he saw us the next morning strolling out of his house without remorse. My friend was once locked in a locker and was thrown up and he fainted within thereafter, another was forced to chew N20 cos that was what he offered for 'LANWU' (extorted money) which was mandatorily N50, another given soap and urine in a cup to consume for not paying his lanwu. I hung on the ceiling woods for good 20 minutes with broken bottle on the floor to hurt me if i fell for not offering my provisions.

I was respected by my friends for my guts, during the morning joggings, I was dared to touch girls on d boobs and butts and i never failed . I can't remember any female prefect ranging from Head girl downward that didn't feel my palms.

It was fun during my senior days, We didn't break bounds cos we've razed down d fence dat a truck could comfortably drive in, so we visited madam bush for meals, had lots of drinks and sticks . Went to ABSU for gigs, organized parties in town. No teacher had the guts to rebuke an SS3 student. Our law enforcement agents in school then was the black on black police. It was common for one to write his WAEC from the police cell, brought in with police van, escorted by a police with your hand-cuffs on which is removed when its exam time, confiscated back to the cell after the exam. Infact i narrowly escaped though all my friend got the experience. Infact, the experiences are almost inexhaustible, I could write from now till next week.

My last few days in school was most horrible, We pursued all junior students from school, scared the police away from the school vicinity with knock-out explosives on three scenarios in one night, contributed urine and feaces which we boiled using our burn-fire light and went into the female hostel, scared the junior ones away and poured d God-forsaken mixture on the Assistant-Head girl who always heped to expose culprits. She was forced to come with the stinks, kneel and apologise to all.

The final day was so emotional, after d last paper, everyone was ordered to leave school before 3.00pm, at 2:50pm all outgoing students gathered close to the main gate while the police in their numbers and vans where waiting close to the Admin building, At 3:00pm, the police started approaching the gate and together we left the gate and everyone parted their ways with lots of promises to keep in touch. I've not seen many of them but i still miss them.
As per my evil deeds, i keep praying that God forgives me.
Presently an back to a saint.

PoliticsRe: Naira Re-Denomination: Suspended! by ratiken(m): 1:50pm On Aug 27, 2007
Am so surprised at the reactions coming from various quarters on this issue.

Firstly
I can not agree more! it was the most 'unwisest' (if ever there's a word like that )decision by the North-centric Yar'Adua administration. This government is surely not of the people, so what more could we expect?
This is a quote from a nigerian. Until we let go our tribalistic conciousness, we might be heading for worse things in this country. Am not hausa, but does it matter if it takes an hausa to get things done?, could we allow the president do his thing, Obj has done his and is out of scene, Yaradua has done nothing evil yet to get these lambasting from all corners on this forum.
Maybe nigerians might be happier if his aides, PAs and all were a mixture of different tribes but he has chosen d people to work with, it doesn't matter who they are. What matters now is 'PROJECT NIGERIA' and getting things done right.

On the issue of EFCC & Ribadu, People have thrown the present government to the trash can 'of no essence', but i can remember on this forum when people criticized this same Ribadu of being OBJ's hunt dog, witch-hunting everyone that opposed the then incumbent government. Even until recently, the politicians spearheading the crisis in d niger-delta has not been apprehended until the federal government came in. Ribadu has done some little nice jobs but there are more of politics to Ribadu-led EFCC under the OBJ admin. His fancy days might be over and am sure he is not the best person for the job.

On the suspension of the Naira-Redomination policy, I just hope this policy dies a natural death from here. I've always urged nigerians to critically examine policies before throwing their weight behind it. I might not be an economist but i've left some posts on this issue

I ave been a soludo fan until now, I've keenly watched the economic scenario of this great country and i can tell this forum that this is a wonderful initiative with a wrong timing. This would have been wonderful if Nigeria was running a closed economy or if we were a relatively high producing or manufacturing economy.

I have always said from the onset that this is a short cut to solving our economic problems. There are better ways of adding value to the naira than redenominating. The only thing we majorly export in this country now is crude oil, what happened to cocoa, groundnut, coal, our solid minerals, rubber, farm products among others. The government should come up with policies and modalities that will boost some other sectors of the economy which will eventually lead to a high Export to Import ratio which will add value to our curruncy internally and on the foreign scene. Redenomination is not what we need right now.

I earn 20000 NGN now to earn 200NGN by Aug 2008 which is of same value does not worth the stress.

Consumer right protections has not worked for our petroleum products (PMS, AGO etc) on which could be readily enforced, how much more taxi fare, house rent, meal ticket, petty goods among others if this eventually works.

Does it mean that Soludo never thought of this at the inception of the 1000 NGN note as well as the new lower denomination notes & coins knowing fully well that redenomination is priority to our economy in the nearest future? This tells you that there is more to this than have been made public.

Anyway, am yet to be convinced of the motive behind this because at the end, nothing happens to the value of our currency, remember you can only influence your foreign exchange by some bedrock factors that is not this. This is just a change of figure in the naira whose cost would have added a lot better infrastructure and amenities than the country presently enjoys.
Am not a Yaradua fan yet but i completely agree with his doubt on the soundness of the policy.
So nigerians, abeg make una no crucify our government yet. make we open our eyes dey look well well. Nigeria will still get better and great.

Long Live Nigeria

Just finished mine in Portharcourt, So these are the few tips i can Offer
1. The test consists of Verbal reasoning, Numerical reasoning and spatial analysis
2. Verbal comes first - 35 questions in 35 minutes
3. Numerical reasoning 2nd - 30 questions in 35 minutes
4. Spatial Analysis - 40 questions in 15 minutes

I wouldn't say this is the easiest test I've written but was relatively fair.
For those yet to write theirs, I think you should be concious of the time factor and work as fast and accurately as u can.
There is nothing to be scared about cos it was all good.
So all i can say is cheer up and be prepared. Best of lucks.  smiley
