@rashmus Imagine your first post on nairaland ![]() I can guess what your next post will be. |
Passion can be triggered either by role models or parents/ guardians or possessing skills relevant to a field among many others. Sometimes its necessary to adhere to parent's advice cos it combats juvenile decisions we make at the admiration of vanity at that tender age. Though there are selfish parents who force their kids to live their own dreams without attending to their strengths and passion. |
@rayo2002 Sorry I never knew you were a lady. Congrats still. Does it mean no one has any info on the Cost and Schedule Engineers test? |
@rayo2002 Congrats man |
I have some relevant questions whose answers could help both the poster and everyone in such position: In which field do you seek a career? What are your prospects in that field in 20 years time? Top career banker and Top career Practicing Engineer (Maybe Oil & Gas), whom would you want to be like? What prospects abound in the banking Industry? Compare to that of the Engineering Industry? Does what you intend doing guarantee your joy and happiness as well as the quality of life you desire? @na 2day, U give me a story of a failed engineering career and I'll show you at least 20 depressed and frustrated banking careers. There is something much more than money, That is what guarantees your quality of life, your joy and happiness and the brightness of your future. I dont always want to see myself in the light of people's failed career stories because what we normally post here on nairaland are mere summaries leaving the in-betweens where the passion lies. I don't let pessimistic stories blind me to what virtue there is in what i passionately seek; many persons strive for high ideals and everywhere life is full of heroism. |
@ JJay1 Nice comment but i think u still view "career" from the short term perspective. Who says he can't save up for a Masters Program in three or four years (with three or four years experience added)? Who says he cannot get a better/well paid job with six months experience? Thinking outside the box if i understand it should be considering that both a masters and engineering experience are all inclusive within the industry. Consider this and make your choice a) 3 years banking experience+Masters (18 Months)+2 Years Engineering Experience = approx 6.5 years b) 5 years Engineering Experience and Master (18 Months) = approx 6.5 years I'll choose option (b) anytime, any-day. I am in the Oil and Gas Industry, so I know what I am saying. Masters is only considered two years experience (with prior industry experience). Why would someone spend some time in something you don't enjoy doing; You can never have your heart in it. Don't make the mistake of having your entire life figured out (though it is no excuse to planning) cos you are not God. Something else might pop up to demand the proposed money for the masters. Use the opportunities available to you now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'll advise anyone anyday anytime to seek a career than a job. If he desires a career in the banking industry (which is not influenced by Fresher's Package in the industry), then he should stick to his job. If he desires a career in Engineering, he should zoom off to the Engineering firm. If he desires a career in something else than is none of both, then he should remain in the bank and seek his career, My 2 Cents |
@rayo2002 When did u get the Invitation for the Interview? |
I'll say congratulations to you just like anyone. But I'll also advise that you draw closer to him that has brought you this far. You need him now than when you never had a job. He'll make your focus-in-view clearer in the fulness of time. This employment is just Number one. |
@Delta007 I'll say you are good man for that well constructed advice up here for Mary. I'll like to have a chat with you to clarify some issues if you wouldn't mind. amiablekenny@yahoo.com does it all. YIM? message? whatever option you so desire. I am almost always online. |
I doubt if people are interested in PILOTS of land these days. Are you an ikwere man? |
This is what i call 'LAME FRAUD' U dont even know Nairaland has an Education Section Ukranian Donkey ![]() |
I give u N60,200. I am in PH so u mail gkennyng@yahoo.com for mode of transaction |
You have to be very careful on this because mums are good at spotting when their surprises are tampered with. But if i were you, I'll tell him and I'll not tell him. |
His actions are products of frustration If u can cope with him when he is back to a good job, then stay put and do what u can. If u can shoulder him through this period, U'll definitely be d one |
It seems Mobil intends to conclude all aptitude tests before going into the interview phase. And if that is the case, then we will have to wait a little longer cos I know that Procurement Advisor's test and Geo-science test are yet to come up. This is my assumed 2 cents, I could be totally wrong. Any real info will be well appreciated on this forum. I wrote the test for Cost and schedule Engineer's on the 12th of Jan and almost one month after, there is no info. Its all good. |
@ Vasilli I can agree with you to an extent but I still find it difficult to believe that the match was fixed to be lost in the second half by four goals. Its a big blow to CIV, They wud have lost 1:0, its will be understandable that they lost by a slim margin. If the match was fixed, then It was fixed foolishly. |
The best team took back their trophy. They came with the trophy They were determined to go back with it. From their first game, i knew they were at the tournament for a purpose They weren't there to seek better european clubs They were there to play good football and that they did. Despite all odds associated with football; the foul play, fair play, bias referee judgement, crowd/ supporters influence, CAF politics, the emotions among others At least, Justice was done. The pharoahs were worth it. I rest my case here till 2010 |
Apart from Dr Ferlie, Who else has been invited for an interview? Any news on the Cost and Schedule Engineer's test on the 12tyh of January? |
Sup Garden City peeps? Probably would have seen some of the peeps on this thread somewhere without knowing who is who. I think its no bad idea putting a face to this faceless forum. A gig aint bad |
@ Prof Ferlie We are waiting rite here for your complete info Please. |
@Prof Ferlie What was the mode of contact? |
12th of January 2008 I meant |
Plz Any info on the Cost & Schedule Engineer's test that held on 12th of January 2007. Has anyone been Contacted? |
If I am to do it again, I will go back there. FEGOCOOK (FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OKIGWE) Never less than the best. It takes an Alumni to know that there is more to Academics. |
The crew that hired that white Gold-digger should be given same treatment. NFA should feel the heat. Area Boys should do their job. Militants could help. This is a national call; We have to let both the NFA and Vogts know that Nigerians can't be fooled all the time. That might give the next Coach a glimpse or a full description of his bargain and what he is in for. Abeg make una no allow this guys go like dat, Two bitch slaps will do either at the Airport, Hotel, On the road, Anywhere you see them. Anyway I trust, Naija no dey fail. |
Extremely true. Check out this Link http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=102375 I Can't be happier. But It would be unfair if this dumb white fool in the name of Vogts just gets away with this embarrassment just like this. This ND Militants would have utilized their economic importance here than wasting their energy in the creeks. Am still trying to recover from my mixed feelings, I am so happy he's been sacked but not happy he left scotch-free. |
*Still thinking if i wrote the test alone* |
I sincerely hope Nigeria wins but I cant predict any scores yet. I dont really have problems with the Super Eagles team because I know they will definitely improve on their game seeing what they went through to come this far. But i have a big problem with Coach Goat (Vogts) cos he's damn dumb. Players do have their bad days but that is not enough for such to mess up the tempo of the entire game. If players had the right to substitute themselves during a game , then I might feel better. The dumb old Gold-digger will only stare blindly from the bench without seeing that Yakubu musn't play the full 90mins if he must play at all. We will need a lot of tactics and a wonderful formation to push through Ghana. Osaze wudn't feature in the match so he needs to find a playmaker or use his wings tactfully. Nsofor though not very fantastic is a good match for Painstil. The game should be a good combination of seriousness and tacts. Nigerian's success in Sunday's game will come from the bench. I hope Eguaveon takes the mantle and help push the eagles through. Even if we get to the finals, Vogts should still go back to Germany from Ghana. Go Eagles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Has anyone got any news about Mobil's Cost/ schedule Engineer's test that held on 12/01/08? Its gone past the two weeks they promised getting back to successful candidates. Has anyone been contacted yet? Any relevant info will be well appreciated. |
An Experienced Civil Engineer with at least five years experience is urgently needed You must be familiar with the Niger Delta terrain and must be resident in PortHarcourt or Benin. Possess proof of experience for large scale projects and ready to work with less supervision. Send Curriculum Vitae to gkennyng@yahoo.com |
