Have you subtracted the cost of production of a barrel of crude? Have you subtracted cost of sales? How many percent of the revenue so derived is due to the joint venture partners who operate the various mining leases? It is people like you that misinform the ill educated and ignorant ones.

In case you don't know, government only charges a percentage of the profit from sale of crude oil as tax from the oil companies operating in the upstream sector and the companies keep what is left.

ypzilanti: In India, after the riots, they now have 'fast track' courts that handle rape cases. The fast track courts by definition, must hold everyday until the judgement has been served. We should do same for corruption cases in Nigeria.

Also, EFCC should begin investigating Judges. We all know that there is major corruption in the judiciary...do you not think it is odd that no single judge has ever been tried in court?

Finally, there should be minimum mandatory sentences for corruption. This means that once you are found guilty, regardless of any plea bargain, there is a minimum time you mist spend in prison. I recommend a minimum of fifteen years without possibility of parole.

If I was president, on first week in office I would lay foundation for a huge 1000 inmate prison complex in Abuja, strictly for corrupt government officials. That will serve as notice to them all, that it's no longer business a usual.

Didnt we watch d attempt of d PPMC officials to repair d pipeline 2 or 3 days afta d vandalism, and how 3 of dem were killd by d vandals 4rm d village? You expect NNPC to send more workers so they can also be killd witout d requird security mop up in d surrounding villages? Meanwhile, dat pipeline is one of d main pipelines distributing more dan 10million litres of petrol thruout the west and tru Ilorin to parts of d north. They hv in d meantime increasd d distributn of fuel using trunks over longa distances, which is d best they can do in d meantime b4 they wud be able to repair d pipelines. What else do u want dem(NNPC) to do? where they d ones that told those villagers to vandalise(steal) fuel in dat largely inaccessible area at Alepo? Thisday just reportd dat 3 new ships carrying fuel just bertd in d Lagos port, adding to d stock in-country, so if NNPC can increase long distance distributn tru trunks(which is more difficult) or better still repair dat pipeline when d security agents finish dier job(i wud imagine they are doing dat right now), the situatn along dat axis ought to come back to normal. If it continues afta dat then you can complain bitterly; in d meantime, cut dem sm slack....finali i ask again, when last did u guys experience scarcity in Lagos nd environs
