I know some will still come here to complain about the pictures. Let me help you out if you belong to that category.

As a matter of fact, Nigeria of today is not the same as the one of 2 to 10 years ago. As at last month, we were told by NCC that over 63million people access the internet via mobile devices. This will tell you that the situation has changed. In the days of yore, you'll know a journalist by the recorder/shorthand note s/he carried around important dignitaries. But today, what do you see, a reporter using his mobile phone to take pictures and to record interviews. So, wake up, my friend, this is a digital age. A new era. Photography has evolved as you can take a very beautiful picture with a mobile phone with a higher MP (megapixel).

The short and long of my story is that, the pictures are just necessities of the moment. Once you have a phone, you can take a very good picture - even from a distance. So please, spare our President, he didn't ask the people to take his pictures. You can direct your complaints to those who are fond of taking his pictures. grin grin grin

If you continue to dance, clap in praises, supporting Buhari, his madness will increase, and a time will come when you will ask yoursevles how and why did we come to this point.
Ok, this is about the end of September, tell us Buhari's achievements other than his body language?

One thing you should be sure of is that taking your miseries on imaginary enemies online will never solve your problems. Nobody is responsible for the kind of miserable life you are living. Specifically, I'm not in any way connected to the miseries that befall you in your entire life. So next time you embark on fruitless easing of your frustrations online, kindly look for another person. God will heal you if only you are curable.

Nigerians will never cease to amaze. I've seen some reactions to Amaechi here. When there wasn't too much publicity on him, they are like "Amaechi see ya life!", or "Buhari has finally dumped Amaechi", or "upon all that Amaechi did, what did he get in return". Now that he is one of the powerful delegates to the UN General Assembly, they are like "In what capacity did Amaechi qualify to be in that trip?" Like I always say, you don't lay down all your weapons before your enemy. Don't be too quick to rush to conclusion as you don't know what the next step might be?

Sometimes we need to have a clear picture. In the first place, this is a gathering of over 3 million people that gather in a place. Even if they are not in this place at this time, most of them will still die for "there is a time for every life to die". I don't see any fuss about this and as weird as it may seem, most of these people actually pray to die there. So, weep not for "All is well".

PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Stops Saraki’s Arrest by razid:
Most of us have access to the internet and can get to any mainstream news media, I've just checked and I found out that it's only this news site that is reporting this story. Even the 'almighty' Vanguard is not even reporting this 'rare' judgement. From the news today, we were told that all the judges of the Court of Appeal will be at the Supreme Court for a very important event. So which of the Court did this ruling emanate?

And I'm equally amazed by the reactions of all of us to this issue. What exactly is our point? What purpose will their defense online serves us? Do all of you out there in your conscience know the number of people that are dying daily as a result of corruption? I mean, when are we going to be serious for once in this country? Yesterday, I watched in awe as a 9-year old girl was narrating how a police officer murdered her mum and I couldn't help but to cry. The woman in question left a sucking baby for God's sake. The poor woman died just because her husband failed to settle the deranged cop with mere "N100" he demanded for. My people, because we have not fall victims of this corruption does that preclude us from feeling for those who are victims? Where is our conscience, my people, where is our heart, and for crying out loud, where is our humanity?

It is because of this attitude of ours that encourage these people to take us for granted. What is meant to go round, they decided to appropriate it to themselves and yet you find the victims defending them heartlessly. When will we have our brain and dignity back? I remembered when the issue of Austin Okocha came up that he had N1billion in his Societe Generale bank account came up, he was called by the this very accused man and settled that they had to take a "show-me-your-teeth" photograph to show that Okocha had been settled. But my friend up till today has not recovered from the loss he suffered as a result of banking in SG. Why? Because he is a nobody.

My people, we have a chance to either continue with our inglorious past or chart a new course for ourselves by demanding that our public officers must be accountable, responsible and transparent. And please bear in mind that a seed will not germinate the very first day it was planted. Whatever we sow, we shall reap. Wish me what you wish for yourself.
PoliticsRe: CCB: Alleged False Assets Declaration By Saraki Live On TVC. by razid:
To me actually I'm not always excited by this government agencies. If someone has been preventing them to do their work, what cost them to make some noise to the public and let the people be the judge. As a matter of fact, one of them could have as well resigned and that will put a lot of pressure on the government who might be seen to be sabotaging the rule of law. But now that they are fearing for their job, they now decided to make noise. Bunch of hypocrites!

Our elders say "We should first chase away the fox before we now try to pass judgement on the cock". The argument has come up that the case happened in 2003. Do we forget that he (Saraki) was governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011. So during those time he had immunity and was shielded from the law. So during that period, there is nothing the Bureau could do. The Bureau could easily argue that he took them 4 years to do a proper verification of the asset he declared. Moreover, the fact that he just filled a new set of form could have even given him up based on the fact that he might not have properly vetted this year declaration against the previous ones. So, that could have solidified the case against him by the CCB. And he shouldn't also forget that Tinubu was arraigned in 2011, 4 years after he had left office. So he shouldn't give us this story of witch-hunting. Let him go to the tribunal and sort himself out. Period!

PoliticsFG Sites Integrated Transport Facility In Enugu by razid(op): 11:24am On Sep 17, 2015
In a bid to further boost trade between Nigeria and landlocked countries, the Federal Government has concluded plans to site three key transport infrastructure in Enugu State as a strategy to decongesting the seaports, promote export and create more corridors for transit trade between Nigeria and her landlocked neighbouring countries of Niger and Chad.
Buhari

The projects are Truck Transit Park (TTP), Inland Container Depot (ICD) and Transshipment Cargo Terminal at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu. The Enugu state government last week, allocated 68 hectares of land at Obollo Afor town in Udenu Local Government Area of the state for the truck transit park.

These projects are expected to complement the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) already sited at the 9th mile area of the state, attracted by former governor of the state, Sullivan Chime.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Bar. Hassan Bello, observed that the projects when actualized will reposition Enugu as a transhipment hub in West Africa sub-region, explaining that the visit of NSC management team to the state was to discuss how the TTP, ICD and transhipment air cargo terminal being promoted by the Council could meet some aspirations of the state government. The projects are being undertaking under public private partnership (PPP) among the state, private investors and the Federal Government.

Private investors

According to Bello, TTP is a modern state of the art facility situated just off the Highways, designed to provide temporary rest location where truck drivers can conveniently park their vehicles in a healthy environment, get accommodation, fuel, food, drinks, rest rooms, showers and other basic suppliers like oil and spare-part as well as servicing of their vehicles. The parks are primarily intended for short-term safety breaks and also long-term parking services in high-use corridors.

Explaining that the NSC as a regulatory agency for the projects, is facilitating the development of TTPs at eight locations across the country, with Obollo Afor inclusive, he noted that in line with the decisions of the 13th National Council on Transport (NCT) in November, 2013 in Lagos, state governments interested in the development of TTPs could either do so separately or in collaboration with Federal Government.

Kogi State, he added, had allocated over 45 hectares of land for the establishment of a pilot TTP project at Ohono village, along the Abuja-Lokoja way, while the Kaduna State government is finalizing arrangement for the development of its TTP project at three locations across the state.

He further explained, “The Federal Government policy direction is for the TTP projects to be private sector driven under a PPP arrangement.

Under this arrangement, the state government shall undertake the obligation of providing land as well as basic infrastructure, including access road, electricity and water supply. The private sector concessionaire shall provide investment, management and maintenance for the success of the projects.”

Bello listed the benefits of a TTP as provision of reliable and convenient parking facilities for truck drivers; provision of cargo safety and reduction in cargo pilferage and loss on transit; improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the state; facilitate smooth movement and timely delivery of transit cargoes to the landlocked neighbouring countries; creation of employment opportunities and related socio-economic services; among others.

PoliticsHealth Sector: Gains Of Buhari’s U.S. Trip by razid(op): 11:13am On Sep 17, 2015
After President Buhari’s visit to the U.S., the Centre for Disease Control has shown willingness to partner with Nigeria to improve the NCDC.

Awute said the NCDC and the National Blood Transfusion Service now collaborate as a fall-out of Buhari’s U.S. visit.

He said the Architect i1000 equipment, which is a fully automated screening machine with a shorter turnaround time of four hours, would be made available to the country.

The permanent secretary said: “Under this collaboration which is facilitated by the U.S. government through the CDC Nigeria country office and one of its implementing partners – partnership for supply for Supply Chain Management, Abbott will install and maintain 1 No Architect i1000 machine at each of the three NBTS Zonal Centre’s located in Abuja, Ibadan and Jos. When the new systems are commissioned, the pilot centre’s will screen blood units pooled from other contiguous NBTS Centres as well as from nearby secondary and tertiary hospitals that partner with NBTS, consequently ensuring the availability of larger quantities of safe blood in a timely fashion.

“This is an example of Nigeria’s continuing relationship relationship with the US government on health matters with special focus on International Health Security. The ongoing insurgency often results in mass casualties. Such medical emergencies, give rise to the urgent need for supplies of safe blood in adequate quantities. The collaboration and support to the National Blood Transfusion Service in the deployment of the Architect i1000 machines for blood testing; will strengthen the National Blood Service to achieve her key mandate. Safe blood, saves lives.

Nasidi said the President’s visit to America has opened up opportunities for the country to access high possibilities of funding, research collaborations and networking with American institutions. He said: “Obama said we are free to explore that. In his response to Mr. President, Obama spent five to 10 minutes, talking about our achievements on Ebola. So, all we think we are going to do now is to consolidate on that gain – the great job that was done in Lagos, Port Harcourt. And one of the achievements is that as a follow-up to that, already the Director of the U.S. CDC has visited Nigeria to see which areas we can collaborate on and enhance support to us. He saw our facilities and I think he made a very wonderful speech that he is very impressed. We are now trying to key in on that, collaborate with U.S. FEMA, U.S. CDC and NIH and other necessary U.S. institutions to establish a very effective National Emergency Operations Centre which we are in the process of doing. Virtually, half of our new administrative building is Emergency Operations Centre and we just got back Nigerian professors who went to train in the U.S. for the operation of that centre. He was trained in the U.S. CDC as a follow-up – Obama promised to help Nigeria to strengthen these areas and as a result, somebody has already been trained at the highest level of health security training.”

Dr. Osinubi believes that the gains of the President’s visit to the U.S. will show more when the ministry has a political head.

“You know those kinds of changes are best felt when you have a minister in place. Like when I was telling you about the place of the minister, I told you that the political head will work in line with his principals’ policies. So, once the President has indicated his policy direction in the area of health, then the minister has to run with that vision. Like we have a few companies coming into Nigeria who have come to say they want to work with the National Blood Transfusion Service in the area of blood safety. That is a fallout of the President’s visit to the U.S. The Abbot Group, one of the largest laboratory groups in the U.S. has also come and they say they want to work with the health ministry as to how to provide equipment in some of our laboratories. So, there have been things like that. But, for us, in the Hospital Services Department, when you have a sitting minister and they come like that and explained their mission, it will be his role to guide them in the direction of what the government wants to do and once that decision has been taken, the ministry has to run with it.”

The absence of a minister has also made the ministry unable to put in place the National Tobacco Control Committee.

Usoro explains: “In the absence of a minister, the permanent secretary takes over. This interregnum is a bit long but I think we have been coping very well in the absence of a minister. For instance, we have started the process of operationalising the National Tobacco Control Act. It was signed by the former President on May 26. But, the Act says the Chairman of the National Tobacco Control Committee will be appointed by the Minister of Health. So, that was why we advised the permanent secretary to just take it easy. Apart from issues like that and other regulations that clearly say the Minister of Health, all other services have been running normally as if he was present.”

With time, Awute said things will change because Buhari has shown the political will to turn the sector’s fortunes around. The people are really waiting for it. And the waiting should not be too long.

This is more reason why I don't stereotypically accept all the gibberish that is being said about America and Americans. You always have the good side and the bad side in every nation. Depending on your own kind of individuality, you only focus on the side that best suits you - the good or the bad.

Just take a look at the reactions of people to this issue. They know the problem, yet they don't dwell on it but decided to take concrete action to neutralize its effect. No blame-gaming, no trading of words, no political party shenanigans, etc. Every one that matters condemn the act in a subtle way without necessarily hurting the other side. That's to me quite fantastic. We are human, we have our positive and negative sides. They could have decided to ignore the issue because of the boy's race, religion or status. But they choose to celebrate his ingenuity and probably boost his morale. Kudos

And this administration is quite aware of this and has taken up the challenge. At every opportunity he has, PMB has always reiterated his resolve to develop agriculture and mining. In my primary school days in the early 80's, we were taught Enugu is referred to as the Coal city because of the cacophony of coal in that city. But where is Enugu in terms of coal today? I believe that the present administration is not that keen on crude oil only because of the way they have met the treasury and the kind of graft that has been going on in the sector. Sometimes it's good to be patient and watch event unfolds before making submission. Thought "they" said the US trip was fruitless. grin grin grin

A few cargoes are said to be heading to US refineries from Nigeria, trading sources said at the weekend.

Two Nigerian grades, including at least two cargoes of flagship crude Qua Iboe as well as Bonga, were said to be heading to US east coast refineries as well potentially down to the US Gulf Coast, traders said.

“It is bits and pieces, not massive flows,” one crude trader told US-based energy publication, Platts.
Exports of Nigeria’s major crude grade, began declining rapidly from July 2014 to zero level by the end of last year following increased shale oil production by the US.

India and Europe have emerged as the largest markets for Nigerian crude, while the OPEC member still struggles to dispose of its oil to the US leading to a growing overhang of unsold Nigerian cargoes but there seems to be changing fortunes for the country’s crude.

One cargo of Nigerian crude is heading over regularly to the Delta Airlines refinery in Trainer, Pennsylvania, while Philadelphia Energy Solutions (PES) was also heard to have bought Nigerian crude, including an end-September loading cargo of Bonga and, potentially, a cargo of Qua Iboe.

Shipping fixtures seen by Platts showed PES, Exxon and Statoil chartering vessels to take West African barrels to the US for end-September loading cargoes, and traders have said Vitol’s October 3-4 loading Qua Iboe cargo was also heading to the US.
Traders cited the narrower Brent/WTI spread and good US refining margins as the main factor pulling Nigerian barrels.

“I think Qua works because of the arb and margins,” a crude trader said. “The arb is low enough for [refineries] with good jet margins to buy it.”

While flows of Nigerian crude to the US during June and July were partly driven by high prices for domestic light sweet crudes, such as Louisiana Light Sweets, that has not been the case for the recent moves.

“US grades have really been sideways all week,” said one US crude trader. “The biggest change has been in the arb.”

The spread between Brent and WTI has narrowed over the past week, with the October contracts’ spread as narrow as $2.96/b, the lowest since June 30.

European refiners have been the main buyers of Nigerian crude in October so far due to good refining margins on the continent but other light sweet crudes in the North Sea and Mediterranean are coming off and could compete, traders also told Platts.

As a result, Nigerian crude could continue to flow to the US, traders said, especially as values were starting to come under pressure again with November’s program likely due out next week and at least 30 million barrels still available for October.

Hence, whether he appoints GOATS or LEBANESE in his cabinet, as long as what will make our country is achieved, ba komi; walahi. As it is now, it's more of: "the end will justify the means". Shikena. Thanks for the compliments. Actually I had a conversation with a friend of mine this morning who is into poultry farming. He gave me an insight into how demand for turkey is now turning the business into hotcake as its import is now currently being enforced. It was then I realised this fact that when that ban on importation is enforced wholeheartedly, people will automatically look for substitute. He was actually looking for a blue collar job before as he studied Banking and Finance; now he's telling me that he would never look for any job again.

It's like most of us don't really get it. The media have been awashed with the question on the policy direction of this government. At every opportunity he has, the President has reiterated that he is going to be very serious about Agriculture and Mining. It is in line with this promise, that I see him bringing this man to the Customs Service. What I think will happen is that in order to encourage local farm products, there's going to be a very hard time for those who are importing farm products like frozen chicken, turkey, fish, etc. Once that one is fixed, we will then be "forced" to patronize our locally made ones. This will in turn makes the imported ones to be very scarce and expensive while locally made products will be now become available and desirable. As a result of the boom that the industry is going to witness, most youths especially will be naturally attracted to agriculture just as the ants is attracted to sugar as it will now been a very easy avenue to make money quick quick. grin

So, the government is using one stone to kill two birds at a time - one is diversifying from oil and second is employment generation. As for those who thinks he might function very well in EFCC, you need to know that EFCC is not money generating agency like the Custom Service. And moreso, the government needs every kobo she can get in order to fulfil her promises to the people. Therefore, you can appreciate the wisdom in appointing this man. Who else is still looking for policy direction? By the time everything falls into place, it will be like magic for una eyes. Continuu grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: 800 Nigerians Killed In 100 Days Of Buhari’s Presidency- Report by razid: 9:43am On Sep 11, 2015
Nigerians are special breed indeed. We can conveniently attribute their deaths to Buhari even though he inherited the crisis from the previous administration. However, we are blinded by hate and bigotry to even acknowledge the positives that have happened to us since he assumed power; because all that we want is for him to fail miserably and put the nation in turmoil so that we can justify our hatred and bigotry towards him.
Sometimes I wonder if most of us do have conscience at all? We claim to be religious but we are far from being godly. Every one should prick his/her conscience and see if the bile we have towards this person is enough to end our "miseries".

Cheers!
PoliticsRe: All Major Highlights Of President Buhari's 100 Days In Office by razid: 9:58am On Sep 06, 2015
Have you forgotten that he declared his assets as promised before 100 days. Some people are attracted to bad news as ants are attracted to sugar while to some, they always see the bright side of things. My question is how could the heart of a man be so small and be able to hold the quantum of bile and bitterness it holds as in the case of some people? When the power supply situation was attributed to the change in administration, they were quick to remind us that it was the work of the previous government. Now that we were told that power supply has dropped, they were shouting PMB. Could we also attribute such drop to him of the past?

I know that most people have been dying by installments since PMB assumed office. They will finally give up the ghost when the rest of Nigeria will be celebrating the new wave of events.

The way these people are foaming in the mouth abeg whoever has the ears of President Muhammadu Buhari should kindly appeal to him on our behalf to please give these old men small attention. They seriously need the attention of Mr President to look in their way, but they are not even in the man's radar at all. They have just been behaving like a toddler who is seriously looking for his/her mom's attention but the mother would not even budge for a second. The kind of pain one suffers when you are seriously attacking your enemy but the said enemy wouldn't even look in your side is earth-shattering.

Abeg o na beg we dey beg Mr President, these our people don old if una no give them attention, they fit kpeme oooooooooooooooooooooo. grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: You Have A Plot Of Land But You Don't Know The Location,is It Possible? by razid: 6:20pm On Sep 04, 2015
Very possible. I bought a plot of land in a virgin area in 2011 (that was just 4 years ago oh). I wanted to visit the place sometimes in October last year, to God, I couldn't even locate the area not to talk of my exact plot. It took the intervention of the Surveyor through whom I got the place to locate it for me in spite of the fact that my name is boldly written on the four corner pieces. I have a friend who bought several plots of land in a GRA and all are processed with the letters of allocation. If you ask him, all he would tell you is that they said it's somewhere around that area.

So after this one, what next? grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Buhari Living An Austere, Spartan Lifestyle - Code of Conduct Bureau Official by razid: 1:33pm On Sep 04, 2015
Sometimes I don't even know what is driving these set of people that have been running their mouths ever since PMB was sworn in. In one breadth they accused him of being sponsored by all the monies of APC state governors and Tinubu, and yet in another breadth, they are also doubting him for having less than N30M in his bank account even after running for presidency four times. Can't you all be consistent just for once? Exactly what is your point, he was sponsored and at the same time he sponsored himself - which one do you want us to believe? Sometimes silence is golden. You can all keep quiet if you don't have anything sensible to say please. grin grin grin
