I know some will still come here to complain about the pictures. Let me help you out if you belong to that category. As a matter of fact, Nigeria of today is not the same as the one of 2 to 10 years ago. As at last month, we were told by NCC that over 63million people access the internet via mobile devices. This will tell you that the situation has changed. In the days of yore, you'll know a journalist by the recorder/shorthand note s/he carried around important dignitaries. But today, what do you see, a reporter using his mobile phone to take pictures and to record interviews. So, wake up, my friend, this is a digital age. A new era. Photography has evolved as you can take a very beautiful picture with a mobile phone with a higher MP (megapixel). The short and long of my story is that, the pictures are just necessities of the moment. Once you have a phone, you can take a very good picture - even from a distance. So please, spare our President, he didn't ask the people to take his pictures. You can direct your complaints to those who are fond of taking his pictures. ![]() |
amusadele:Wow! Take a deeeeeep breadth. Again, again and again. Now take a loooooooooooooong deep breadth for the last time. Hope you are ok now. One thing you should be sure of is that taking your miseries on imaginary enemies online will never solve your problems. Nobody is responsible for the kind of miserable life you are living. Specifically, I'm not in any way connected to the miseries that befall you in your entire life. So next time you embark on fruitless easing of your frustrations online, kindly look for another person. God will heal you if only you are curable. |
Oduduwaboy:He played his parts when it mattered most and he would always be remembered for that act - good or bad. It's just a question of perception. |
Nigerians will never cease to amaze. I've seen some reactions to Amaechi here. When there wasn't too much publicity on him, they are like "Amaechi see ya life!", or "Buhari has finally dumped Amaechi", or "upon all that Amaechi did, what did he get in return". Now that he is one of the powerful delegates to the UN General Assembly, they are like "In what capacity did Amaechi qualify to be in that trip?" Like I always say, you don't lay down all your weapons before your enemy. Don't be too quick to rush to conclusion as you don't know what the next step might be? |
Sometimes we need to have a clear picture. In the first place, this is a gathering of over 3 million people that gather in a place. Even if they are not in this place at this time, most of them will still die for "there is a time for every life to die". I don't see any fuss about this and as weird as it may seem, most of these people actually pray to die there. So, weep not for "All is well". |
obailala:It is called "Stockholm Syndrome". It is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. |
ladi02:Office of the First Lady only: N50m + N20m + N20m = N90million; N20million more than the budgeted expenditure for the whole event in October 1st 2015. "Asegbe kan o si laye, asepamo lo wa." |
Most of us have access to the internet and can get to any mainstream news media, I've just checked and I found out that it's only this news site that is reporting this story. Even the 'almighty' Vanguard is not even reporting this 'rare' judgement. From the news today, we were told that all the judges of the Court of Appeal will be at the Supreme Court for a very important event. So which of the Court did this ruling emanate? And I'm equally amazed by the reactions of all of us to this issue. What exactly is our point? What purpose will their defense online serves us? Do all of you out there in your conscience know the number of people that are dying daily as a result of corruption? I mean, when are we going to be serious for once in this country? Yesterday, I watched in awe as a 9-year old girl was narrating how a police officer murdered her mum and I couldn't help but to cry. The woman in question left a sucking baby for God's sake. The poor woman died just because her husband failed to settle the deranged cop with mere "N100" he demanded for. My people, because we have not fall victims of this corruption does that preclude us from feeling for those who are victims? Where is our conscience, my people, where is our heart, and for crying out loud, where is our humanity? It is because of this attitude of ours that encourage these people to take us for granted. What is meant to go round, they decided to appropriate it to themselves and yet you find the victims defending them heartlessly. When will we have our brain and dignity back? I remembered when the issue of Austin Okocha came up that he had N1billion in his Societe Generale bank account came up, he was called by the this very accused man and settled that they had to take a "show-me-your-teeth" photograph to show that Okocha had been settled. But my friend up till today has not recovered from the loss he suffered as a result of banking in SG. Why? Because he is a nobody. My people, we have a chance to either continue with our inglorious past or chart a new course for ourselves by demanding that our public officers must be accountable, responsible and transparent. And please bear in mind that a seed will not germinate the very first day it was planted. Whatever we sow, we shall reap. Wish me what you wish for yourself. |
To me actually I'm not always excited by this government agencies. If someone has been preventing them to do their work, what cost them to make some noise to the public and let the people be the judge. As a matter of fact, one of them could have as well resigned and that will put a lot of pressure on the government who might be seen to be sabotaging the rule of law. But now that they are fearing for their job, they now decided to make noise. Bunch of hypocrites! Our elders say "We should first chase away the fox before we now try to pass judgement on the cock". The argument has come up that the case happened in 2003. Do we forget that he (Saraki) was governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011. So during those time he had immunity and was shielded from the law. So during that period, there is nothing the Bureau could do. The Bureau could easily argue that he took them 4 years to do a proper verification of the asset he declared. Moreover, the fact that he just filled a new set of form could have even given him up based on the fact that he might not have properly vetted this year declaration against the previous ones. So, that could have solidified the case against him by the CCB. And he shouldn't also forget that Tinubu was arraigned in 2011, 4 years after he had left office. So he shouldn't give us this story of witch-hunting. Let him go to the tribunal and sort himself out. Period! |
Typical case of Nigerian "awoof dey run belle" |
Anyone that witnessed the TEEP Bootcamp would never subscribe to the lies being peddled around by the online news outlets. The two of them always compete for who is the taller of the duo? And at every point they meet, they always throw banters at each other based on their height. Nigeria is in a very debilitating health and demand serious attentions for the duo to engage in frivolities. Those who are bent on causing katakata for this country will never prosper. |
omenka:Do you have any proof of the bolded? What you said above is exactly what my comment is all about. |
omenka:You are correct. One of the executive directors of the Centre is now a beneficiary of recent change in NNPC/AMCON. They might want to use this as "thank you sir" gift. The centre is owned by Madam Minister General. The way their polls sent Jonathan regime to its early grave, devil sef go fear. |
FearGodinall:Thought I've seen this before. Sound familiar ehn!

In a bid to further boost trade between Nigeria and landlocked countries, the Federal Government has concluded plans to site three key transport infrastructure in Enugu State as a strategy to decongesting the seaports, promote export and create more corridors for transit trade between Nigeria and her landlocked neighbouring countries of Niger and Chad.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/fg-sites-integrated-transport-facility-in-enugu/ Now these are the tangibles that really matter when implemented. ![]() |
After President Buhari’s visit to the U.S., the Centre for Disease Control has shown willingness to partner with Nigeria to improve the NCDC.Destiny can only be delayed but can never be changed; Nigeria is destined to be great and shall get there very soon. |
This is more reason why I don't stereotypically accept all the gibberish that is being said about America and Americans. You always have the good side and the bad side in every nation. Depending on your own kind of individuality, you only focus on the side that best suits you - the good or the bad. Just take a look at the reactions of people to this issue. They know the problem, yet they don't dwell on it but decided to take concrete action to neutralize its effect. No blame-gaming, no trading of words, no political party shenanigans, etc. Every one that matters condemn the act in a subtle way without necessarily hurting the other side. That's to me quite fantastic. We are human, we have our positive and negative sides. They could have decided to ignore the issue because of the boy's race, religion or status. But they choose to celebrate his ingenuity and probably boost his morale. Kudos |
WombRaiders:I don't talk to strangers!!! My mummy said that I should not talk to strangers especially the aggressive ones. |
Abugab:And this administration is quite aware of this and has taken up the challenge. At every opportunity he has, PMB has always reiterated his resolve to develop agriculture and mining. In my primary school days in the early 80's, we were taught Enugu is referred to as the Coal city because of the cacophony of coal in that city. But where is Enugu in terms of coal today? I believe that the present administration is not that keen on crude oil only because of the way they have met the treasury and the kind of graft that has been going on in the sector. As for me, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |
Sometimes it's good to be patient and watch event unfolds before making submission. Thought "they" said the US trip was fruitless. ![]() A few cargoes are said to be heading to US refineries from Nigeria, trading sources said at the weekend.http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/business/us-resumes-crude-oil-imports-from-nigeria/110760.html |

The Sultanate Council has declared Tuesday, September 15 as the first day of the Muslim month of Dhul-Hajj. This is contained in a statement issued by the Jamatu Nasril Islam (JNI) Secretary General, Dr Khalid Aliyu, in Kaduna. Aliyu, in the statement said, Thursday, September 24, will be marked as Eid-el-Kabir and urged the Muslim Ummah to disregard an earlier statement released by the JNI headquarters on the matter. http://thenationonlineng.net/sultanate-council-declares-sept-24-sallah-day/ |
asha80:I'm seriously expecting it my brother. It's not impossible as countries have done it before and it worked for them. The quote of Mahatma Ghandi still remain evergreen in my memory. He said if India cannot clothe herself, let her go naked. As a result he ban importation of clothes to India and India eventually clothed and still clothing herself up till now. So let them enforce the ban and I tell you, they will have only a few young people to give their promised N5,000 stipend to as most of them will have been self-sufficient by that time. ![]() |
Tonnierichy:Thanks my brother. For me personally I don't have any other country apart from Nigeria. Each time I watch the plights of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), I always put myself in their shoes and the way I will feel in such a situation is very scary indeed. They never pray for such to happen to them but it happened. It's only by the will of the Almighty that I'm not presently in such a situation. So you can see that I don't have a choice other than wishing Nigeria well. So for me, I always pray, hope, and see the positive side of Nigeria. Once again, thanks for the good word. |
Nostradamu:Thanks for the compliments. Actually I had a conversation with a friend of mine this morning who is into poultry farming. He gave me an insight into how demand for turkey is now turning the business into hotcake as its import is now currently being enforced. It was then I realised this fact that when that ban on importation is enforced wholeheartedly, people will automatically look for substitute. He was actually looking for a blue collar job before as he studied Banking and Finance; now he's telling me that he would never look for any job again. So my brother, I know that we are in for a good treat God willing. Like a friend of mine always say that on no condition will his children inform him in heaven that Nigeria became better after he had died. That all of us are going to enjoy this country God willing. No be say we go kpeme and na our pikin go dey enjoy our one and only Nigeria. ![]() |
It's like most of us don't really get it. The media have been awashed with the question on the policy direction of this government. At every opportunity he has, the President has reiterated that he is going to be very serious about Agriculture and Mining. It is in line with this promise, that I see him bringing this man to the Customs Service. What I think will happen is that in order to encourage local farm products, there's going to be a very hard time for those who are importing farm products like frozen chicken, turkey, fish, etc. Once that one is fixed, we will then be "forced" to patronize our locally made ones. This will in turn makes the imported ones to be very scarce and expensive while locally made products will be now become available and desirable. As a result of the boom that the industry is going to witness, most youths especially will be naturally attracted to agriculture just as the ants is attracted to sugar as it will now been a very easy avenue to make money quick quick. So, the government is using one stone to kill two birds at a time - one is diversifying from oil and second is employment generation. As for those who thinks he might function very well in EFCC, you need to know that EFCC is not money generating agency like the Custom Service. And moreso, the government needs every kobo she can get in order to fulfil her promises to the people. Therefore, you can appreciate the wisdom in appointing this man. Who else is still looking for policy direction? By the time everything falls into place, it will be like magic for una eyes. Continuu ![]() |
Nigerians are special breed indeed. We can conveniently attribute their deaths to Buhari even though he inherited the crisis from the previous administration. However, we are blinded by hate and bigotry to even acknowledge the positives that have happened to us since he assumed power; because all that we want is for him to fail miserably and put the nation in turmoil so that we can justify our hatred and bigotry towards him. Sometimes I wonder if most of us do have conscience at all? We claim to be religious but we are far from being godly. Every one should prick his/her conscience and see if the bile we have towards this person is enough to end our "miseries". Cheers! |
Have you forgotten that he declared his assets as promised before 100 days. Some people are attracted to bad news as ants are attracted to sugar while to some, they always see the bright side of things. My question is how could the heart of a man be so small and be able to hold the quantum of bile and bitterness it holds as in the case of some people? When the power supply situation was attributed to the change in administration, they were quick to remind us that it was the work of the previous government. Now that we were told that power supply has dropped, they were shouting PMB. Could we also attribute such drop to him of the past? I know that most people have been dying by installments since PMB assumed office. They will finally give up the ghost when the rest of Nigeria will be celebrating the new wave of events. |
The way these people are foaming in the mouth abeg whoever has the ears of President Muhammadu Buhari should kindly appeal to him on our behalf to please give these old men small attention. They seriously need the attention of Mr President to look in their way, but they are not even in the man's radar at all. They have just been behaving like a toddler who is seriously looking for his/her mom's attention but the mother would not even budge for a second. The kind of pain one suffers when you are seriously attacking your enemy but the said enemy wouldn't even look in your side is earth-shattering. Abeg o na beg we dey beg Mr President, these our people don old if una no give them attention, they fit kpeme oooooooooooooooooooooo. ![]() |
Very possible. I bought a plot of land in a virgin area in 2011 (that was just 4 years ago oh). I wanted to visit the place sometimes in October last year, to God, I couldn't even locate the area not to talk of my exact plot. It took the intervention of the Surveyor through whom I got the place to locate it for me in spite of the fact that my name is boldly written on the four corner pieces. I have a friend who bought several plots of land in a GRA and all are processed with the letters of allocation. If you ask him, all he would tell you is that they said it's somewhere around that area. So after this one, what next? ![]() |
Sometimes I don't even know what is driving these set of people that have been running their mouths ever since PMB was sworn in. In one breadth they accused him of being sponsored by all the monies of APC state governors and Tinubu, and yet in another breadth, they are also doubting him for having less than N30M in his bank account even after running for presidency four times. Can't you all be consistent just for once? Exactly what is your point, he was sponsored and at the same time he sponsored himself - which one do you want us to believe? Sometimes silence is golden. You can all keep quiet if you don't have anything sensible to say please. ![]() |
