Man has been on earth for 6000 years since Adam but there was an earth before Adam, which was destroyed. According to Isaiah 24:1, the earth was turned upside down. That's how we came about petroleum.

Between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2 is a very long period of time, perhaps thousands or even millions of years.

So if your aim is to put Christians off balance with this thread, you have failed.

well let me tell you, scientific approaches are beyond assumptions as assumption is just one of the phases in deriving a conclusion/ theory. Through careful approaches, experiments and empirical evidences, they are able to get close to answers....

Science did not say the exact age of the earth but all evidences have convincingly pointed to the fact the the earth cannot be less than 4 billion years old.

If you still doubt these scientific approaches, let me ask you

1. you think man got to space through assumptions?
2. you think mere assumptions made flying engines
3. mere assumptions lunched satellites
4. You are typing this crap with your phones and internet through mere assumptions?
5. you enjoy medical breakthroughs through mere assumptions
