Dameelee:That's the visa itself. |
Dame24:Via email or straight to the account? Still no email from them yet sha. |
Dampops:Noo. I will pay for return courier tomorrow and then wait for their message. |
Dora14:Have you gotten your LOI? |
Kimkalash:I think the Lagos office, in their usual slow manner, divided the submissions into two batches. Hopefully, they'll treat the second batch between now and Monday next week. |
Mmesomamichael:I did. Check my previous posts na ![]() |
Dora14:Did you get an email? I still haven't received an email sha. |
Dame24:I was really thinking that both would come at the same time. These IRCC guys sha. At least, this one is out. If I don't get the LOI by tomorrow, I will disturb their mailboxes again. We move.. |
Mmesomamichael:I haven't received a message. I checked my account after Dame24 mentioned that she got her own. |
Dame24:You've gotten the LOI? |
Dampops:I checked around past 12 or so. I saw this message: November 23, 2020 Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details. It was even approved yesterday, not today. Counterfoil is valid for 4 years too |
Dame24:I didn't get the message too. No LOI yet too. These guys sha. |
I have received my counterfoil just now. |
Following what Kimkalash said, I think Nigerians fear too much. We live in a society where people can mark you down if you talk too much or you complain or you are too loud. We believe in witches and wizards ruining our destiny. Many of us can't even tell our own siblings that we are applying for visas because we feel it will attract bad luck. It's a Nigerian psyche. I'm giving an antithesis to what MadeMan01 has proposed. Nigerian gra gra is basically to suffer in silence and then make noise when nothing can be done or make noise when we can simply talk. I have never left my fate to chance for once and I do whatever I can to fast track things for myself. If that means sending a mail to Justin Trudeau himself, I would. I have never seen anybody being denied visa because they sent multiple emails. Visa decisions are not based on extraneous factors. They are based on what you submitted and what the VO thought at that time. Once your application is approved, only admissibility factors can affect you and sending multiple emails to whoever is definitely not a ground for inadmissibility. On a general note, almost of us here want to go to Canada. Canadians do not suffer in silence. A Canadian will not allow the Nigerian embassy treat them like trash because they want visas. A Canadian would not allow himself to be psychologically tortured during online classes because she doesn't have a visa yet. These are things many of us are tolerating. Ranting a little would make them understanding our pain. When I sent my emails, I didn't insult anybody. If you are the recipient sef, you will start feeling sorry for me. So far, all my emails have yielded fruit and like I said before, even if it means mailing Justin Trudeau or the Governor General of Canada (or even the Queen of Canada herself) just to get results, I would. Who nor like am, make e nor send e own. It's not by force. In my online class, an Indian mate couldn't get a required book and he didn't say anything until it was almost too late. I told him to mail the professor to protest and he did. Guess what? The professor secured a scanned copy of the book for him and also gave him an extension to do his book report. A Nigerian may have left that to chance and failed because he feels it's even a privilege for him to study in Canada and he shouldn't disturb the professor with emails. Nigerians, soro soke o! |
Ikechuqu:Email was acknowledged and then this morning, my passport status changed to under process. Hopefully, I will return with better news tomorrow or next. Ehen.. Abuja office also replied and they were responding to what I did not ask them (something about TRV validity). ![]() |
Kimkalash:The name of the Deputy High Commisisioner/Acting High Commissioner of Canada to Nigeria is Ryan Ward. You can send him a mail too on ryan.ward@international.gc.ca. I bombarded them with mails last week sha. I even sent a mail to Marco Mendicino (the IRCC minister). Funny enough, they usually, unlike those webforms that they don't respond to. I basically reported Lagos office to them. |
Kimkalash:Tomorrow ke? Any proof of this? Last I checked, those who received that message had their passports stamped after one week. |
Dame24:just received this too. These guys are mad o. After all my rush rush to send passport since 3rd of November, the embassy is just receiving it When will they now finish the process? |
Lekiboboe:That's what mine shows too, although the date is showing 16th on mine. The passport is with the embassy now and they'll give us feedback by next week, hopefully. This entire Canadian visa process was created to teach us patience. |
Kimkalash:3 weeks to stamp visa ![]() |
fratermathy:No status change. I don't think anyone has gotten their status changed since last week and no one has even gotten the letter of intro. I could be wrong but nobody has posted anything here. It seems IRCC doesn't want us to travel now. |
After getting two funny status messages from VFS yesterday that my passport has been treated and that it had been dispatched to IRCC Lagos, I called them today and they said those messages were sent in error and that the passport is still with IRCC. |
Kinzeerichy:When did you submit? |
bebzo:I got only one last week but since then nothing. Let's look at what next week may bring. |
Whispering:Yes. They don't honour two-way delivery arrangements. They only use their in-house courier company. |
MOKENN:It is a flat rate and I think they've even increased it to N12,500. That's what is on their website. |
bebzo:Which two mails did you get from VFS |
Kimkalash:It hasn't changed o. Nothing new since then. Any update on your end? |
I couldn't upload the VFS return courier form here as I was getting an error message. I used a public file server to upload it. You can access it by clicking the link below: https://gofile.io/d/TVd4LK |
Lekiboboe:They said this one is for passport return. I'm thinking that it's different. |
BlegendE:Kindly send to rebeccausoro@protonmail.com Thanks. |
Chocs:Thanks for this. I've only received one mail from VFS that my passport is in transit to IRCC. I received the mail on Thursday last week. When we should start counting the 1 week and a few days? Is it after submission or when it gets to IRCC office? I haven't gotten any notification that my passport has reached the office yet. I don't know if that is normal. |

. Have you gotten your status approved or LoI?
