Siobhanle: Just got my PPR after waiting since first week of February!!! I applied on the 6th of February, got medical request on the 3rd of March. Passed medicals on the 12th and I didn’t hear anything from Ircc till July when I got my bvl from Nairobi. I didn’t get AIP so I had to defer till winter 2021 semester. I sent them so many strong worded web forms (to every visa office; Kenya, Ghana, London and even China) this past two weeks (at some point I even felt like I was being rude but I did not care after waiting for almost nine months). I even made my friend to email her MP in Canada and I sent emails (the same strong worded email) to the minister of immigration and and the PM . Anyways this morning I got an email from cic and lo and behold, my ppr. This platform and the people behind it were really helpful so I wanted to say thank you! And to those waiting, it’s probably coming sooner than you expect! Special mention to justexcellent and frank for being there to listen to me rant and help me out.
Also for those who have submitted their passports what’s the process? Thanks! Congratulations. I really admire your tenacity. This month is a month of good news! |

NairaLuck: How do we know which office is treating our applications? I think most of our applications have been routed to China due to the Covid-19 situation. I am not sure but this is a possibility since 90% of the approvals so far have been from there. |

Those who are waiting for decisions should send webforms to the Beijing office. I did that last week. I sent like 3 sef. You can never tell. |

Kimkalash: Good morning guys, how do you do? The past two weeks have been extremely frustrating and never in my life have i been tensed and impatient so i know have no right to caution people when i see how worried they are about getting a response but it would do the forum a great disservice if i dont share progress about my application even if it increases the tension, it will increase the hope. I got medical request and AIP and got BVL just now so i hope to get PPR soon. I ve been super scared and this fear has only doubled cause a final decision is what's coming next. i hope the best comes to all of us. If things go well and i get the PPR, i ll post my timeline here. Which office did your BVL come from? |

Lekiboboe: This is serious ooo...
And in your own scenario, you have started classes alrdy.
Make IRCC do normal ooo...
Between Now & November 9, if there is no update, I think a Webform & Email to IRCC Nairobi for Application Inquiry will be essential or what do u feel about this? Those guys don't reply webforms and emails but you can send. They are very irresponsible as far as things go. Sometimes they'll send a very annoying generic response. You can try you luck and see if they do reply. I sent them over 4 webforms and none was replied. Only one email was replied with a general response on Covid 19 blablabla issues. |

Lekiboboe: Non yet @rebecca Though my DLI is not yet on the Covid-19 readiness plan list, don't know if that might be a factor for the delay
Psychologically the delay is draining.
Though let's hope between now and first week of NOVEMBER an update will pop in.. It will end in Praises...
By the way, Do you feel its gonna be a good idea to send a Webform & Email to IRCC, Nairobi for Application Enquiry? cos the distance in between May/June till now is damn long, whereas some applicants who applied August , September, have gotten BVL/PPR..
Probably this is where that statement No Two Application is the same Comes in
Isn't God wonderful My school is on the list and nothing yet and I know others who got it and their schools are not on the list. My friend who's going to a Western got his PPR and that school is not on the list. I don't think this is a serious factor. IRCC sure knows how to mess with our minds. |

blinn007: Nothing yet o, don't really understand why the delay, could it be that they don't want Fall applicants to travel now or something else. I know someone going to MUN who got PPR today. He got his AIP same day we did and he applied in June o. Fingers crossed that next week will be better. I'm tired. |

Why do people only get BVLs and PPRs at night in Nigeria? It also seems they get it almost at the same time too. It's kind of weird that they don't send these things during the day. |

Application profile:
Submitted August 25th upfront Medical Passed September 4th AIP- September 12th BVL- 29th October
Faithful God! on Webform i was informed my file was in Nairobi but the BVL came from China.
Seems to reduce backlog,China office is issuing the BVLs.
Best wishes to all waiting. Congratulations to you. The China office has now become the centre of good news. I wonder what IRCC is doing to those who applied between March and May. It is well o. |

Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by rebecausoro: 7:05am On Oct 28, 2020 |
A new week is going already and no news. They're not even dropping BVLs as they did last week. What exactly is wrong with IRCC? They didn't even prioritise Fall applicants who started online since September. These guys are so annoying. |

blinn007: The wait is not easy, applied since March, am thinking of maybe raising a web form, classes are getting less interesting for me these days. Let's still have hope. Since our applications have been moving together, maybe we may get the approval at the same time too. It's not easy. I raised multiple web forms but no response at all. |

LordAA: When are you resuming classes? I started classes since September o. All of my classes are live on Zoom. It was interesting at first but it has started to become funny, especially without the permit approval. People are even asking me weird questions concerning my travel and I don't even know how to respond because Canada is messing things up for me... I can't access my funding money because I'm not in Canada yet. I even had to renew house rent that I didn't plan to renew. Things are just funny. I have three presentations within the next two weeks and I can't focus without thinking about study permit. Sorry that I'm ranting. I can be so emotional like that. |

Lekiboboe: Hi rebeccausoro,
Is your skool yet to be in the COVID-19 Readiness DLI list...
Its looking as if its applicants whose school are on the DLI COVID-19 readiness Plan that are getting update as regards their application (BVL then PPR)? My school is on the list but I don't think that's how they're giving the approvals. The wait is killing me o. How can I apply since May and I won't be among the first to be approved . I can't even read well and focus because of the anxiety. I feel emotionally drained because of Canada, coupled with the unrest in Nigeria. Truly, the journey to Canada is not for the faint hearted. Has anyone else received BVL? |

blinn007: Hello @rebecausoro pls have u gotten update on your application since medical passed, i haven't, we did our medicals at the same time, maybe they are processing ours together. No update yet but hopefully, soon. Some of my friends also got PPRs. IRCC didn't even use the date of application for the approvals. Their system is just funny. Anyhow, at least PPRs have started pouring in. Congrats to all who have gotten theirs. |

Dampops: I was able to log in just now, and my last update is still the September 28 ‘medical exam passed’. Yes, I have an AIP since August 6th and medical request on August 27... Maybe it's a system glitch or maybe they want to do mass updates. They're definitely up to something. |

I logged into my application and then wanted to see the details. Initially the status was showing submitted but the application page didn't load. I refreshed the page and then my status changed to "your application has been updated". I couldn't move past that page. Now I'm unable to login to the portal. Is anyone having the same issue? |

Dameelee: Hello. Have you gotten a passport request? if yes, when was this. Also to your question, I think you can use a courier service to deliver your passport to VFS (not absolutely sure) I haven't gotten it yet. I know someone who has so I'm preempting mine and planning ahead. I know that some of the requests will come this month, especially for those who applied in April/May. The person who got his that I know applied in March. |

JustMellow: Hello Rebecausoro,
Either submit in-person or get someone to submit on your behalf then pay for a return courier.
All the best Thanks for the response but do you know how long they take before they stamp it? Will it take more than 1 week? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by rebecausoro: 9:54am On Oct 08, 2020 |
Quiet thread today. My former account was blocked. I still don't know why. I had to create a new account.
Does anyone know how long it takes for your passport to get stamped upon receipt of PPR? What's the process like if you don't want to travel to Lagos but you choose to use DHL or other courier companies to hand over your passport to VFS?
Secondly, it seems VFS is not currently accepting passports for stamping. Can anyone confirm this too? |
