Hey. Apart from the automated email, did you get any other email after you sent consent form for courier and transaction details??
Not yet. I haven't heard from them. I resent the mails again today and I plan on sending it like twice or thrice every day until they send me my tracking number. If they don't want me to have peace of mind, their mailbox won't be at rest.

Obanidavid:
Hello Rebecca, I hope to get it back today. I was told it would be picked by the courier service at the close of work on Friday.
Wahala for Canada and patience. So you haven't even gotten back your passport yet despite paying on Monday last week? This is very serious. I don't even know what to say because I plan to travel this week. Let me start mailing them every morning and evening. I can't wait that long.

Please do let us know when you receive it and then you can confirm when it was actually sent. I doubt if it was picked up on Friday. Afterall, they said that mails are picked up only on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I've already paid the amount on their website sha. Let them take the balance as long as I get my passport back on time. I want to travel next week.

Hello Rebecausoro,
Can I also message this email address to enquire about my passport? It was received on Wednesday from UPS by Mr Friday, I am yet to get an acknowledgement or tracking ID.

If that's not the email address can you assist with the right email address and phone number?

Thank you
If the passport is still with VFS (as it would appear now), send a mail instead to

Many people have had negative experience with Turkish Airlines. The most common airlines without any hassle is Ethiopia and Egypt air.
Thanks for this. I'm going to use Ethiopian. That's what almost everyone seems to be using.

My passport has been returned to VFS. Awaiting VFS mail for payment now.

Obanidavid, have you received your passport or gotten a tracking ID yet?

Mmesomamichael:
Please Rebecausoro, I have received three emails from VFS global, I received two on the 20th, when do you think I'll get the fourth one and my passport will get stamped?
I honestly don't know. However, we've had two different sets of approvals this week from the IRCC office at Lagos. This may indicate that they're working more now and you should get a response between now and early next week.

Has anyone travelled with Turkish Airlines before? Do they require any covid-19 test? I'm sure now that Ethiopian Airways doesn't require the test if your destination is Canada but since Turkish is cheaper for me, I want to be very sure.

I actually thought you would be able to pay immediately after the passport is stamped. I hope Canada doesn't implement a new lockdown with all these new covid cases.
Even if they implement a new lockdown, it won't affect international students. The last lockdown didn't affect students whose study permits were approved before March 18th. A new lockdown would definitely not affect students.

Please do we have to wait till VFS says they have received the passport before we pay for the return of the passport through their courier services?
I chatted with them and they said I shouldn't pay for return courier until I get the message. These guys are just complicating stuffs with their delays. Like, what's so difficult in processing passport return effectively and swiftly. It's not like it's free.

Obanidavid

When you got your approval last week, when did VFS send a mail that your passport arrived their office? Was it the next day or it took a while?

I stumbled upon an IRCC page and since we have many new applicants or those who intend to apply soon, these points/questions may be of use as you package your application. IRCC provided them for their Visa Officers. I have edited it and removed some irrelevant parts. I hope this helps newcomers to this thread.

Purpose and duration of the trip: Suggested questions
1. What is the purpose of your trip?
Things to consider:
What will the person be doing in Canada?
What are the applicant's plans for visiting Canada? Are the plans well thought out or are they frivolous?

2. How long will you be staying in Canada?
Things to consider:
What is the duration of the visit?
Is the time requested limited? Indeterminate?
Considering the applicant’s situation in their home country and the purpose of the trip, is the time requested reasonable? Plausible? Practical?

Ties to Canada or country of residence
3. What ties do you have with Canada?
Things to consider:
Does the person have family in Canada? If so, what is their immigration status in Canada?

4. What ties do you have with your country of residence?
Things to consider:
Is the person employed? If yes, at what salary? In what position? Has the applicant's employer approved a request for leave?
What family does the person have in the country of residence? Where were they at the time of the application?
Does the person have property? What is the value of the property?
What financial obligations is the person leaving behind? What is the nature and value of these obligations?
What other responsibilities and obligations is the person leaving behind? How will they be discharged?
Is travel consistent with local customs or practices? Has the person travelled before?
Additional information: Even if the person’s ties to the home country seem to be strong, there may be other factors in the general economic or political environment which make the long-term prospects for the person or their family unstable. Consider these factors in the assessment.

Documents and financial support
5. Do you have a valid passport or travel document?
Things to consider: What is the expiry date on the passport or travel document?

6. How will you support yourself in Canada?
Things to consider:
Does the client have the means to be self-supporting or is someone else willing and able to provide adequate support?
What is the source of funds?
Are there currency restrictions in the home country?
Additional information:
Foreign nationals must have enough funds to maintain themselves in Canada without resorting to illegal employment or social assistance.

7. Will you be able to leave Canada?
Things to consider:
Does the person have the financial ability to return, such as an airplane ticket, money or a statement of bank assets?
Does the person have a passport, travel document and/or visa which will admit the person to the home country or to a third country?

8. Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offence?
Has the person provided biometric information and, if so, what are the results of the biometric checks?

10. Do you suffer from a serious medical condition?
Things to consider: Does the person meet the medical requirements under R30?
Additional information: For more information, refer to medical requirements.

11. Have you ever been refused a temporary resident visa to travel to Canada?
Things to consider: Has the person provided biometric information and, if so, what are the results of the biometric checks?

12. Were you ever removed from Canada or any other country?
Things to consider:
Has the person provided biometric information and, if so, what are the results of the biometric checks?
Does the person require authorization to return to Canada?

Would that imply that IRCC received my passport 8 days ago and still has done nothing about it? Would it also mean that when IRCC begins to work on it, they update the status on the VFS server by themselves and not VFS?
That would be the conclusion from this. I still think they divided this thing into two parts. Obanidavid got his LOI and counterfoil last week despite submitting the same time as those who got it on the 11th. Same thing with bebzo. It means that they broke it into two streams.

Hi! Please what does it mean" your processed passport has been forwarded to canada visa office" does it mean it has been stamped?
It means your passport is now with the embassy. When you get a notification that your passport is being processed, it means they're working on it at that time. When did you submit by the way?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by rebecausoro: 3:17pm On Nov 24, 2020
LOI just dropped. Everything is now set. Awaiting passport return.
