I was a BM for a friend and the make up artiste said 20k for each of the BM's. I just vexed and did my make up myself. Something that will wash off before the end of the day and clog my pores

I know of case after billing my friend, few weeks to the wedding she came to ask for extra 300k for hall decor. With more than 1 mill spent on hall decor alone, the hall decor was still rubbish, torn laterns, dirty table cloths. I'm vexing sef, just remembering it

I recall going to a very popular cake decorator in port harcourt this year. This guy's decorations are mind blowing although his prices exorbitant.
I went into his office and asked for carrot cake and orange cake, I asked if he could do it, he said yes. Somewhere in the conversation he mentioned that I wanted an orange flavoured cake( orange cake and orange flavoured cake are 2 different things). When I pointed out the difference, he hid his ipad and googled it .
Then he went on to give me a chocolate cake to taste, it left bitter after taste in my mouth.
After that I had made up my mind, that I wouldn't touch his store with a 10ft pole, but not before he showed me a wedding cake of 4 million naira !!

She is trying to win more customers , of course she wouldn't tell you she can't do it.
Sadly, there is no organisation you can report to that will take this case seriously. By putting her business here on nl, that's a lesson for her.
100k for that cake is tooo much, if she had done the original cake, then the price would have been ok.
I always recommend for people to taste and see actual pictures of cake designers work before finalising.

@dbard, lemme guess, you picked a picture from the net and didn't bother looking at the cakes she had done, before paying her.
Looking at the cakes again, she is obviously still a learner, who does tiered cakes and leaves the cake board out.

My dear sister, have been researching it so much, definately an option. In my line of work I have seen too many cases of maternal mortality, post partum depression resulting from pro longed labour etc, if science has made it easier am definately willing to explore.

I believe everyone should consider the epidural angle, I have heard of cases whereby the mother has had a prolonged labour and for one reason or the other has refused CS and ended up with serious medical complications or even death to both mother and child because she is too weak to push.

Thanks aisha2 for this, I've been reading up on the pros and cons of epidural and its definitely something I would consider, but I will wait till the pain becomes unbearable before asking for it to be administered.

She is still in the house. i don't want to take any drastic step yet. besides, it is not that they even stay in the house together most of the time. We leave the house together in the morning when he drops me at the busstop and takes the maid and my son to his mother/my MIL's house. He goes to pick them in the evening before i get back home. I can't tell him to wait for me to return before picking them because it will be stressful for my baby to be moving him at that time of the night when he should be sleeping/getting ready to sleep......

I get your point about sending her away being just a temp solution. I am pretty sure that you are trying to find out what is missing/ why he would want to cheat. Please find out the reason and still send her away and start afresh with a new maid.
Leaving her in that house is like telling a cocaine addict to sell coke in rehab. Its too tempting. Plus the maid may lose respect for you and your husband or she may start telling neighbours how your husband wants to bang her.
