Lol. Pls help me ask ur shymmex of a friend if having a nigerian accent is a crime? Besides its that accent sef we have been listening to throughout their five albums and still like. I wonder if a french or an italian who has a really strong diction would be criticized for having one..its only here we reject our own.

Billyonaire: You only resort to name-calling before asking a question. The answer is "Yes" I watched on TV when the Square record trio, Peter, Paul and Jude Engees Okoye, were on press briefing in London a few days ago. The question from the interviewer was direct: Why did you sack May D ? And the lunatics bursted out laughing and responded: "Truth is, we didnt sack him, He got dropped" and bursted out laughing again. I was one of the fans of Psquare, but that day, I broke their CDs, I expect professionalism when one is a public figure. How much dem get wey dey swell their heads. Combined wealth of them all cant buy one plot of land at Banana Island. By that mockery of a fellow artist who wants to make a living, they lose me, one of their old fans. And that is something!
They really don't care if are no longer a fan cos u not being a fan doesn't make them less richer. Trust me it doesn't. If d'banj alone is worth $11m , how much dyu think psquare and jude combined are? Pls tell me they can't afford a land on banana island?

Lol. U call replicating success from their first album to the 5th lucky?, if so, everybody should be a wealthy murafu.cka. Call them lucky, that's ur buz. I would like to term them successful business men.

Car Talk › Re: Please Help Me Choose Between Golf 3 And Nissan Almera 1995-1998 by redcliff: 11:12am On Sep 15, 2012
Bro, if this almera is the exact same type u want to get with the sport tuned bumper, then go for it, it commands more than the golf3. But the Golf is a perfect ride also for individuals btw the low/middle class who need to be mobile.. They are both wonderful cars.. But I think the Golf is more rugged for naija roads.

Btw, it was since march u posted this and u need a reply now, does it mean u haven't madeup your mind for any of them?

LOL WHEN WE HEARD THIS AT THE OFFICE. SOMEONE SAID DBANJ WAS AT THE BACK OF THE STUDIO DOOR AND WHEN THEY FINISHED RECORDING THE SONG AND LEFT THE STUDIO HE WENT AND DROPPED THIS ON THE TRACK. SOME OTHER PERSON SAID WHEN THEY WERE RECORDING HE WAS SINGING FROM OUTSIDE THE BOOTH.
DBANJ SAID HE IS COMING, HE IS BUILDING THE MUSIC BRIDGE FROM US TO AFRICA BUT HIS CEMENT HAS FINISHED. DBANJ MY BRO, U SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT KANYE AND HIS CLIQUE IS TRYING TO USE YOU TO GET TO AFRICA AND NOT U TRYING TO SELL AFRICAN MUSIC TO AMERICA.LOOOOL

BUT ON A SECOND THOUGHT THIS LOOKS LIKE A SONG THAT AHS BEEN DONE EVEN BEFORE HE SHOWED UP IN THEIR MIDST AND THEY HAD TO FIX HIM SOMEWHERE. PEOPLE WEY DEY HATE, IS JOHN LEGEND NOT IN GOOD MUSIC BUT HE WASNT HERE TOO..SO MAKE UNA WATCH AM. BUT DON JAZZY WOULD BE CRACKING HIS RIB WHEREVER HE IS RIGHT NOW////
Music/Radio › Re: Pusha-T - The Morning Ft. D'banj And Other GOOD Music Artists by redcliff: 8:35pm On Sep 13, 2012
Billyonaire: Truth be told. And this is not hating. I like Dbanj. If Dbanj was a round peg in a round hole, there is no way he would not have sang a verse or rap in that mediocre called song. Kanye needed just a way to make his voice heard and he didn't just fit it. And the humming/chanting of 10 seconds was the only way he could come into the song so the interlude was created, just for him to hum or chant like a he-goat. I am sure Don Jazzy is laughing his ass off. Cos this is like suicide of talent he groomed for years. Dbanj as a brand is in comatose and needs redemption from truth-tellers who are willing to tell him the truth. I will remain Dbanj's fan till the next single or album, and if he falls my hand again, I will dump him like a bag of garri.
HMNM BROS THEM NO DEY DROP BAG OF GARRI O. COS GARRI IS A VERY ESSENTIAL COMMODITY RIGHT NOW> LOL

ochallo: that is how good music features their artist, on the song all of the lights by kanye west, it featured alicia keys and all she did was sing oh oh oh at the outro and even elton john was used to stack the final chorus and even john legend was there, so suck it people, i knew from the start that dbanj made a bad move because relocating to the us or uk when you have already reached your climax is a foul move, the us has way more struggling artists and one hit wonders than the nigerian music industry put together, plus dbanj is neither a rapper nor a singer and his beats are good because they are made by don jazzy, his flows are nice because they are laced with pidgin and melodramatic speaking, if he is to succeed, he is to understudy pit bull, that is the only person at present that he can match up too otherwise, he is like an erupted firework coming to the ground fast and losing his flare in it's wake.
THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY TO HAVE PUT THIS... I LOVE YOU FOR THIS POST

bricx: Buy a small car,
Pick passengers along the way, that way you would have succeeded in raising money to fuel the car on a daily basis.
My experience, I raise enough to fuel my car
To and from work daily, I raise N2000 daily,N10,000 weekly and N40,000 monthly.
My daily lunch is N500, weekly is N3500 and monthly is N14,000
With my N2000 daily taking to and fro work, I have more than enough to fuel my car-full tank and eat lunch on a daily basis.

You can turn a liability-car into an income earning asset that way.
Its your call.
before you know it, the interior of your car would be looking so worn out and old. picking passengers on the road isnt a good idea at all..anyway na golf 3 so its a cab sef
Properties › Beautify Your House Or Go To Jail —lagos State Govt Tells Landlords by redcliff(op): 9:33am On Sep 13, 2012
DINT KNOW IF THIS IS THE RIGHT SECTION TO POST THIS BUT YEA.......

The Lagos State Government has ordered all home owners in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria to beautify the perimeter areas of their properties with flowers or face six months imprisonment.

This is as a result of the new Lagos State Parks and Garden bill which has already been passed by the State House of Assembly.

An agency that will implement the law, the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency, LASPARK, was inaugurated on Monday in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria to manage all the parks in Lagos and enforce the law.

Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello while inaugurating the LASPARK, said with the new law, “it is now mandatory for tenement/ owners and occupiers to landscape and beautify the perimeter areas of their properties, while violation of this law shall warrant the penalty of N250,000 or such sums as the State shall incur in doing same on behalf of the tenement, or six months imprisonment or other non-custodial sentence.”

Bello said all houses in the Lagos metropolis, no matter how small or congested must plant flowers in the perimeters of their houses or face the wrath of the law, saying that the government wanted Lagos to be as beautiful as Singapore.

According to Bello, “the law stipulates a fine not exceeding N50,000 or one year imprisonment or other non-custodial sentences for any person or corporate body found felling or trimming trees in the state without obtaining the required permit from LASPARK.”

The commissioner said LASPARK would be in charge of beautification and landscaping projects across the state, saying the agency was set up to foster sustainable environment and further enhance the aesthetics of the State.

Bello added that with the law, “it is an offence to walk on lawns and gardens instead of designated walkways; spitting, urinating or defecating in any area of the parks, gardens or opens spaces; loitering or soliciting for illegal purposes, smoking, distributing controlled substance or engaging in disorderly conduct; littering, polluting or dumping litter or refuse in any park or garden.

“Failure to control animals or allowing defecation; or engaging in unhygienic use of fountains, pools or water in the parks, gardens and open spaces, is also prohibited.”

Acting Permanent, Office of Environmental Services, Mrs Adebola Afun said 128 landscaped beautified sites and 14 parks had been handed over to the new agency to manage.

The new General Manager of LASPARK, Mr. Olukunle Sotade said the agency would strive to improve the aesthetics of the Lagos environment and collaborate with other sectors of the economy to actualise the Millennium Development Goal, MDG.

cosby: tints made on the glass are made by the manufacturers in such a way that the occupants of the vehicle can be seen from outside unlike the artificially tinted ones, that makes the vehicle dark as charcoal.

hmnm na wa o for people's comment on here, that's why they say too many cooks spoil the soup. many people using their different driving and car ownership experiences to advice the OP. personally i do not see anything wrong in having a car as long as you are working, u have focus ( u know what u want to do with you life) and equally, u get a car that would give u less troubles and maintenance cost is relatively cheap(next to nothing. there are so many of them out there. Just dont get a Nigerian Used car and a car that has done a lot of miles. Its advice able that if you want to order and you have a trusted fellow in europe (which seems to have the cheapest in terms of cost and shipping) let such persons do a proper search on your behalf for something really good.
My own thoughts though......

I'l advice you to lay ur hands off from that suv if you are looking for fuel economy and cheap maintenance cost. That car gulps fuel, that aside, the parts are quite expensive. I remember when my mum had to change the brake pads, a set was 14000 thereabt.(Don't know if its a set of the front, back or both). I also remember when my cousin used to drop me in scul with it cos I schooled along lagos/ibadan and fuel of 2500 was always not enough to and fro. If its durability, its 100% and that is when u do preventive maintenance o. And it doesn't have a second hand value cos I remember it took us close to a year without driving to sell the damn thing. Its the definition of a beautiful girl smoldered in poop.
If you want performance, then go for it..

mrrock: My brother, you came to Nairaland to seek advise so please listen to the voice of warning. DO NOT BUY ANY CAR YET.
If I see you face to face and tell you my life and journey with cars you would change your mind. Note that the cheaper the car the more expensive to maintain. That's how it is.
I once owned a ford scopio and everyday I will end up at the mechanic. That was my first car and it made me hate cars. When I wanted to sell it nobody agreed to buy. It took a very long time before sold at a give-away-price.

It wasn't until I bought Toyota 4 runner jeep that I began to enjoy cars. I used the Toyota jeep for 2 good years without going to mechanics for any issues other than changing my oils. When I sold it I got half the purchase price quick.

Summary:
A friend of mine who is a car dealer told me that cars don't cost anything to maintain as long as it's priced from N3million upwards. If you buy any car from this range you would have no business with mechanic for 3 years as long as you avoid accident.
This does not mean you can't or shouldn't buy cheaper cars but cheaper cars will cost you more money to maintain.
Ah ahn, bros why r u talking like that.
See the car you bought. Ford, for a starter that was a total No, No. U missed the point there.

Op, if you aren't paying rent, not taking care of anybody, food also isn't much of a problem and u work and also have a gf who u feel ashamed entering bike and bus with when you are going out or the anger that emantes from you when some passenger steps on u in the bus or the dust and smoke that enters ur eyes from the windows of the bus and u can't close it because of other passengers or u stand at the bustop and say, 'I hope my friends don't see my waiting for bus looking tattered after a long days work and you want to get a car, I would say GO AHEAD!

And same way one can die(God forbid) with millions stack up in personal acct... the money will be useless when you are gone.

I don't think the poster is a fool not to have any plan for the future and getting a car today should not affect his plans if well thought out. 80k no be joke in Naija. How many people earn that?

tunde300us: Dont forget to reserve N25K lastma moni too grin But on a more serious note i think driving a car in lagos dont need u to earn 200k/month before u can drive one. This mite sound funny but do u consider how long ur clothes nd shoes will last when u drive urself ?
And the OP said he owns half of the loan ie N350k of the money already,so he is not just borrowing all.My guess is that its a coperative or something
U r totally the smartest man on this forum. I love u bro for this comment especially the shoes and clothes part. #no homo. I mean see all my jeans don tear finish due to all those bus seats with sharp edges. Infact the convenience of having you own car and driving it daily to work cannot be be rivaled.
