@ Jekad, I hope u know that not every Christian with all their faith in God's healing power get healed by Him.Some of us Xtians will be cured through our doctors, some will be healed by God and some will not get any healing from God.The fact that one isnt' healed by God doesn't necessarily mean that one doesn't have enough faith ,nor does it undermine God's power.Tithing is not a prerequisite for your acceptability before God.The truth is that when the situation stares at you in the face,u will reconsider the tithes.Don't mind him, talk is cheap. It's always easier for us to preach forgiveness like Chris did but when it comes to the person that killed our mother or father, we'll love to rewrite the conditions for forgiveness. |
@posterWhy didn't you ask the believer to follow his/her heart and see what God is telling him/her. You quoted elijah's words abi? What about the bible telling us "obedience is better than sacrifice"? Is the tithe not the sacrifice here? |
have u forgotten that d sudden medical emergency like u call it might be a way of God trying to test your faith?and what if that pperson pays d medical bill and still does not survive it what will he or she tell God in heaven? Undecided do u know that by paying that tithe u may receive your healing instantly?or have u forgotten that our God is a God that when challenged does d extra-ordinary?So many "mays" in your argument. What you are saying is that if we get sick, we can as well use the money for our hospital treatment to feed the hungry in Tsunami, Ethiopia, Liberia, Rwanda etc afterall God "May" make us well and even if we go ahead and pay the hospital bill, we "may" not survive it, so what's the point of paying it when we can give it to those that needs it for FOOD and BIBLE supplies. |
My pastor usually says:The same thing servicing companies preach in America because by applying that method, they are sure of their monthly billls getting paid. Some churches and companies here use the "easypay" method where you give them authority to collect a specified amount of money from your account monthly or every fortnight. If i decide to pay my tithe instead of using it to pay for your own surgery that needs immediate attention, will you like it and commend me for that? |
It seems no woman here is speaking up for laid back intellectuals and Gothic gentlemen. Who are these women that marries them? |
I am not like the LOSERS u have once dated! For the umpteenth time, talk is cheap!!!! |
U.S. lawmakers want Mandela off terrorism list Bill has support from Justice Dept.; awaits approval from Senate updated 5:10 p.m. CT, Thurs., June. 19, 2008 WASHINGTON - Some U.S. lawmakers are trying to pass legislation to remove former South African President Nelson Mandela from a U.S. list of terrorists by his 90th birthday next month, officials said on Thursday. South African Ambassador to the United States Welile Nhlapo said he was in talks with the State Department and lawmakers to resolve the issue by Mandela's birthday on July 18. Lawmakers in April introduced legislation in Congress to remove Mandela from the list, a step that is normally a government administrative matter, because they were frustrated by the time the process was taking. The State Department has said it and the Justice Department fully support the bill, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives on May 8 and is awaiting Senate approval. "We have been able to clarify and resolve certain questions that were hanging in the minds of some people as to whether to support the process or not," Nhlapo said without elaborating. "We are trying ourselves to talk to some of these people, clarify what else they may have on their mind , so that we can get this over," he added. The former South African president and some in the now-ruling African National Congress are still blacklisted under U.S. laws and need special permission to enter the United States more than a decade after the apartheid struggle ended. No plan has been announced for Mandela to visit the United States once the bill passes. He last visited the United States in May 2005. Strict security measures passed by Congress after the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States kept the ANC's "terrorist" label because it used armed force as part of its campaign against apartheid. Nhlapo said he was worried the legislation would get delayed by Congress' summer recess. Congress takes a break over the July 4 week and then recesses for much of August. "Certainly there is a lot of anxiety and interest in South Africa as to the resolution of this matter particularly by the time of Mandela's birthday," Nhlapo added. Rep. Donald Payne, a New Jersey Democrat, told the Africa Society late on Wednesday that removing organizations from the terrorist list was an administrative matter that had taken too long, adding: "We're trying to make sure that he is not a terrorist when we celebrate his 90th birthday." Mandela was jailed for 27 years for his struggle against apartheid, and has become a worldwide symbol of freedom. He was hailed for overseeing the peaceful transition from white to black rule as South Africa's first post-apartheid era president. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25272057/ |
