THis is the wrath of the forest spirits for abandoning the religion of the land. THey should have performed sacrifce to that tree.
Do you actually believe that?I understand the village square point of view, where communities gather under big trees like that to acknowledge and celebrate the ancestor, the living dead. But that is just all about it.Communal gathering in a serene and revered environment.

The sacrifice to the ancestors should be in the form maintenance of the tree, the square, maintenance order and unity in the community.Continuation.

There is no mystery to traditions. It is all about the people,HOW they way they live, what they believe, how they survive and pass on.Traditions are the makings of living people in reminisce with the past.

Backwardness.A reminisce of the black civil rights in america, aparthied in south africa, chronic cast system in india and terrors of the nazis against the jews and those they consider inferior race, africans of course included.

Our primitive democrazy lawmakers stealing our common wealths and at the same time making heinous laws against their own people who just happen to make themselves happy the other way round.People who just happens to be different and more rational than the politicians themselves.

GenBuhari: Fair enough.

However whilst I am no supporter of GEJ, I can not judge him to be worst than OBJ since most of the mess he is facing was created not by him, but by OBJ and since he has just had over 2years compared to OBJ.
Obj is an epitome of evil, anything worse than obj will be in the ranks of hitler and stalin.

Gej on the other is a new kid on the block that seems to be towing the line of the same corrupt practices with relatively new gangs.

Same as the opposition.

They should be glared they weren't mobbed.Tensions are flaring everywhere and natives are finding every minute excise to vent their frustrations.

I respect england for being a "free country".Britain seem to be relatively the safest place for foreigners to be in the world, especially in london where everybody blends into and everybody seems to lord it their own ways.

This was quite unprecedented years back in the nigerian cities and towns. But with drastic climate change it seems to be frequent sights in nigeria these days. And like every other thing, nigeria is way unprepared for catastrophic weather occurrences.

You got to be prepared.

Why was he held for five years in juvenile centre? Was he involve in armed robbery? Or does juvenile detention centres also serve as care home for children.

Don't forget thieving obj, danjuma, ibb,David mark are generals too.

Obj is a notorious traitor and he can only appeal to his kind. Only criminals and subhumans admire traitors and because there are no moral and rational yardsticks, people just grow up to recognize ignorant criminals like obj as statesmen and women.
Politics › Re: 2015: Obasanjo Calls For Leadership Change by redsun(m): 9:39am On May 30, 2013
The day animals like obj will be caged or executed for good will be the day Nigeria will set itself on the part of rationality. Until that time,it will remain on the part of waywardness and irrationality like it is today.

Obj should be giving criminal insights to his fellow prison mates, not to civil citizens. He belongs to prisons,he belongs to the underworld and he belongs to untamed animals.
I think you are lying. look at american and european kids. by the time they are 14, they are into drugs, p.orn, gang, etc.

they even call police on their parents for scolding them.

btw your example of Nigerian elders/youths is very lame. . tongue tongue

dont take offence. its my opinion.
Most american and european kids that are into drugs are mostly kids from broken homes, kids born of kids and abused kids like you are recommending.

As for example of nigerian elders/youth,i will remind you of the taste of the taste of the pudding saying. It is clear to see that nigerian society of today is more or less a failed one and the answer lies in looking within and actually finding out the fundamental relevance of life and survival.Understanding the basic intelligence(common sense) that could be passed on to children without fuss or violence.
depends on his offence and how mercilessly.
Although i was caned as a child, both at home and at school, but i don't see anything good about.

And i am not bitter for having the experience, but i will take compromise and good rapport with a child anytime anyday,no matter what the issue is.

Children learn by mistakes, challenges, constructive correction and persistent examples. The more you talk them down or beat them down, the more they get confused, withdrawn and less proactive.Same as abused or intimidated adults.

If you think i am lying, take a deep look at nigerian present elders/youths population of today and see how dormant, unconstructive and immobile they are.Like subdued children.

lorretta u: grin grin of course that's what mama taught me.feel good about yourself.
As for obadiah777,he knows my comment wasn't prideful.rather it was one against another which I previously thought was prideful.but I understand,he felt bad cause I took a jab at the lady who was supporting his views.I'd have done the same. I forgive him.as for my hair,u guyz funny.what do you knw about hair?
That is synthetic hair.never meant to be passed of as real hair.I use fake hair a lot.so do many white women and more especially black women too.I leave my hair natural too when I please.though it makes me look like a baby.like I'm sixteen.but do I need to apologize to him for my hair?I don't think so.I really don't care about what he thinks of my appearance.just as long as we are objective on our contributions to NL.we can worry about our beauty or lack of it when we are with people who can actually see us.and not our picture of years or months ago.
Carry on jare.I think you know what you want.Even though you would have been more appealing and less wasteful with your natural hair, but i think wigs and attachments are things of the time that could be overlooked. And could be overcome with proper guidance.

I would not've suceeded without slight discipline.
I think the children of these are are way different from what we were children. We were more or less brought up in a crude age, while the children of these days are born into this complex digital world that they seem to adapt to at early age.And it shapes their iq,thinking and intelligence.

They are always finding easy way out because every thing in their graphic and synthetic world seems easy.

obadiah777: LISTEN HERE BROTHER. WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS. WE ARE A NATION OF PEOPLE. BLACK PEOPLE THAT IS. AND IF I WAS BEING PRIDEFUL I WOULD APPRECIATE IF SOMEONE PUT ME IN MY PLACE. ITS FOR THE GOOD OF THE COMMUNITY. A PRIDEFUL WOMAN OR MAN RUNNING AROUND HAS A WAY OF REVERBERATING AND AFFECTING THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.
I thought you would have been more subtle with a woman like the gentleman you always come across as?

Abi,you no be gentleman self?

Loretta looks to me like she sees everything good about her self, like she feels beautiful about herself.Minus the hair, which is not not exactly a problem,i give it to her.I see a black woman with natural hair as a conscious one,a woman that has got some substance.

She is probably a teacher too.
there is only 1 solution to that. .

^The above will take care of their basic responsibilities, so they can look into higher areas and talents. If a child cant even brush its own teeth, he/she is a good for nothing and should be drowned.
Are you actually serious?or you are just being sarcastic?Because even a bright child won't make such suggestions.

Doing that will inhibit whatever good in that child, destroy his confidence and wipe out his/her creative intuitions.I think there are better ways to make them see need for self preservation and protection.
Family › Re: Parents: How Do You Identify A Child's Talent? by redsun(m): 8:44pm On May 28, 2013
dont do any test.

Introduce her/him to a wide variety of options. provide the child with art books, encyclopedias/picture books, musical instruments, swimming classes, sport goods (football, tennis raquet) etc. give it many options at an early stage.

The child will automatically pick up the option it finds best suited towards and will work on it. Always provide the options and keep it as an open choice.

If the child is talented in anything, it will show itself. you wont even need to go after it, because it will be interested in it. (the child i speak of will be around 3-4 yrs). however if you dont provide equipment and options, you will never know what good your child is for. undecided

Im speaking this from personal experience . My parents left me around Gods for a lot of time. I used to spend time with Idols, ritual stuffs, books on religion, etc., from an early age. Thats how Im so interested in Traditional Religion.

so yeahh. it depends on your choices.
The worst is that these kids tend to be very intelligent, but brushing their teeth tend to be a mammoth task or even washing hands before eating or keeping their clothes clean or tiding up their rooms.

And don't know how that connects with intelligence, but everyday basic chores tend to be mammoth task for some bright kids.

What do you make of a child that score 140 on a basic free random IQ Test? This thread prompted me to test some kids and to my surprise, one scored 140,just a few minutes ago.

Do i have a genius in my hand or what?

Why would an adulterous wife want to be with the husband anyway? If the man can not satisfy her,let her move.Unless she is being adulterous to support the family in desperate situation, including the man.

More like knowingly marrying an ashawo without portfolio.

What we see as norms, morals, holiness, sin, institutions and reverences are shaped by second century-middle age grecoroman chiristian scholars. They borrowed from the pagan world and redefined what they think are reverences, divinities, holiness and sins. They politized jesus and made an ordinary human being a divine, set him on the throne and crowned him king.Like the the pagan gods of the past. Like Appolo the god of all gods.

Same jesus, tenents and taboos africans see today.

The stupid judge might even end up sentencing to death for using toy gun on attempted robbery in nigeria. She might even be executed by the police before the trial even make head way.Especially if she doesn't have rich relatives that can bribe her way out.

It is horrid for the voiceless out there. The victimized poor.
