I received the new explora 2 decoder for being a loyal customer -- the picture quality of their HD stations is unlike any TV service provider I've ever come across. I can sit down now and indulge in a boring TV program only because I'm mesmerized by the video quality.

Startimes picture quality when compared to DStv's is subpar, even below if possible.

The 2018 World Cup is almost here and in anticipation, MultiChoice Nigeria, owners of the pay-tv platforms, DSTV and GOtv has slashed the prices of its decoder for the world cup period. Aside from offering the decoders at a cheaper rate, Multichoice has also promised to offer full coverage of the Russia 2018 World Cup through Supersport on both DStv and Gotv.

The DSTV decoder (HD), which comes with a dish kit and one month subscription on the compact bouquet, will sell for N8,500, which is a 14 percent reduction from the previous price of N9, 900. The Gotv decoder on the other hand with the antenna and a month subscription on Gotv Max will cost just N5,900.

According to a statement by General Manager, Sales and Marketing for Multichoice Nigeria, he said;

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge might finally be getting the long awaited Android 8.0 Oreo update. According to a report by a Turkish website which is been handled by Samsung, the roll out of the Oreo update will kick off in Mid May of this year.

Samsung has also posted the notice on the members app which is targeted at Korean users. According to the post, Samsung confirms plans to release Android Oreo updates for a number of Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones.

Samsung says it's trying it's best to kick off the Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge by Mid May, unless there is any major issue with the final build which might lead to further delay.

Russia introduced an anti-terror law back then in 2016 which mandated all messaging services in the country to provide the authorities with the means to decrypt messages. Telegram has however missed the April 4th deadline it was given by the Russian authority to hand over encryption keys used to scramble messages as the company claims that the way the service was built gives it no access to customer's encryption keys.

A court in Moscow has therefore approved a request from the Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor, for the immediate country-wide block of the Telegram messaging App. In its court filing, media regulator Roskomnadzor said Telegram had failed to comply with its legal requirements as a "distributor of information".



The Russia's FSB which is the country's main security agency has said that the Telegram app is the preferred messaging platform for "international terrorist organisation in Russia". According to FSB, the suicide bomber who killed 15 people on a subway train in St Petersburg last April used the app as a means of communication with his accomplices.

Telegram is widely used in Russia and the middle East as a whole and even Reuters news agency reports that the App is widely used by the Russian authority due to its emphasis on encryption. Telegram will however appeal the decision of the court over the next month.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced the WhatsApp business app which is a redesigned version of the regular WhatsApp app with extra features which allows small and large companies bring their products and services closer to their customers by taking advantage of the app's large user base.

WhatsApp however released the business app for Android users only with no word on if it will be released for iOS and Windows phone users in the future.


A new image has just surfaced online which shows that WhatsApp might currently be in the process of developing a Windows 10 mobile variant of the business app alongside a number of unique features. The business profiles will include a unique badge and just like on the Android variant, there will be an option to add a number of details to profiles such as email address, website link, business category, short description and even contact number.

WhatsApp business also supports Landlines and automated messages as well as option to add opening hours. The app still remains free for small scale businesses but bigger companies have the option to pay an extra fee for extra features to help them manage thier large customer base.

HMD Global which is the company behind the new Nokia Android smartphones already promised that all the Nokia devices running on Android OS will receive at least one major update. This includes the flagships, the midrange and even the entry level Nokia phones.

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update on both Android and iOS platform. The update comes with some new features which are voice recording lock and in-app YouTube video playback. The features are already live on the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.18.102.

Xiaomi has just officially announced a successor to last year's Mi Mix 2. The newly released device which is the Mi Mix 2s is coming just 6 months after Xiaomi released the Mi Mix 2 and both devices shares very similar design except for a few changes in the back.


The new Mi Mix 2s has a more trimmed down bezel but still retains the 5.99-inch, full HD+ LCD display just like it's predecessor but with a newer and more efficient Snapdragon 845 chipset to power the beast alongside an 8GB RAM and a massive 256GB Internal storage.
