Education / Re: Which Public Universities In Nigeria Are Suitable To Study Medicine? by reindeer: 10:01pm On Nov 02, 2011 |
Moreover, i dont know the costs right now but Ife was practicallly the ''cheapest'' school in nija in the 90's, so you can save lots of money. Forget the schools in Eastern Europe for medicine, i've seen their products here and im not impressed at all. The Indian scools are far better and do more demanding procedures than the rubbish in Eastern Europe. |

As an ex-Ife doctor, i'll advise you to go to Ife(OAU) that is if you have the mental and physical stamina to survive the course there. I work in the UK now and i can tell you Ife prepares you very well for the wider world, graduate from Ife and nothing daunts you anywhere in the world. The school trains you all round, not just the academics. . .you'll hold you own anywhere! Greatest Ife!! |

Health / Re: Anambra To Recruit Foreign Doctors As Local Doctors Continue Strike by reindeer: 12:05pm On Oct 22, 2011 |
It is sad reading from Nigerians who jump on the ''doctors should work for charity'' bandwagon. These problems will keep happening until politicians stop wasting the people's wealth on frivolitites. The saddest part if that the very same people who will benefit from a robust system are the first ones to criticise those who work in that same system. To say there should be no doctors union is an infringement on their rights, it's just not done. The only solution in my Opinion is to stop this permanent employment thingy and start making these jobs contracts so you know how much you'll be earning right from the start Renewable contracts are just the easiest way out. If this contract isn't good enough for you, then you go where you can get a better deal This will ensure people work hard enough to get a new contract and at the same time, there won't be arguments about pay during that contract and a new one can be negotiated later. For people to just keep shouting against people demanding for better working conditions is just plain folly and no one else will suffer but these people and their relatives. The politicians of course can always travel out of the country to treat their headaches and cold with more of your money. |
Politics / Re: Police Kill Youth For Criticising Checkpoint Extortion - Bayelsa by reindeer: 6:26pm On Oct 21, 2011 |
The police are just a reflection of the rot in the entire country. Keep voting for PDP and you have no right to complain. Nobody gets brought to justice for anything. Stoopid followers who keep ssupporting the people holding them hostage. I weep not for Nigeria, i weep for the idiotas who mouth change but do otheriwse when the opportunity arises. Too bad for the young man, another light put out by a system that eats it's young shame, shame.I am so angry. |
Politics / Re: Describe Buhari In Two Words by reindeer: 7:56pm On Oct 19, 2011 |
A rare gem Incorruptible leader corruption fighter. On a serious note, all the negative comments seem to be from a few disgruntled people and more genuine statements from the 'average joe' This just tells you something. Compare this thread to the ''describe GEJ in 2 words thread'' and you'll understand what i mean. Right thinking people know the truth. GEJ's butt-lickers can bury their heads in the sand and pretend the real world does not exist. People are getting wiser. |

Interesting write-up. Of course many bigoted people will refuse to see any sense in it and pick on the person of the messenger. This shameful attitude, this deficit in concrete reasoning is the most painful reason the country refuses to develop. |
Career / Re: Medical Doctors' Forum: Let Us Know You! by reindeer: 7:51pm On Oct 14, 2011 |
Tobbie9: My friend, as an Ex OAU doctor myself, i can tell you it's worth it! Dont be deceived by seeking instant gratification. True, you may not be a billionaire as a doctor, but you'll be comfortable enough. As tough as it is for employment in the UK now, doctors have no problems and infact there are more avenues to make extra money. You need to realise though, being a doctor isnt all about money, making a difference in people's lives and seeing people get better is a definite 'high'. You'll understand this more when you start practicing. OAU is a very very good school if you listen to what you're being taught and not beef the lecturers for wanting you to know everything, it certainly pays off later. Best wishes in your studies. 2 Likes |

mathskill: I think youre wasting your time talking to people who are just blinded by ethnicity. Their ethnic colouring simply coloured out any objective reasoning and they'll run foaming at the mouth just to cast aspersions on the person of the general. Let people live with their decisions. Their blindness in seeing merit is what will make them suffer alongside their generations. |
