SWG 1: I dont know why people like fueling crisis in the health sector to the detriment of patient. How will surgeon general improve health care services and foster healthy relationship among health professionals. Doctors hold the post of CMD, Minister of Health and now Surgeon General and grand commander of nigerian health system but no tangible improvement in health care delivery & healthy working relationship among His peers. Govt should make sure that JOHESU ‘s request have been implimented, if not, more problem on the health sector.

Don't worry, with this the doctors dont need to be minister of health anymore. alll the other health workers can fight themselves to death for it.

Much as the difference cannot be any clearer, let's not forget that the US is built on institutions that function on autopilot to a large degree. All they need most of the time is a little infusion of energy from the commander-in-chief. A good example is the US budget blueprint which is set over 10 year periods. So no matter who is president, you have just a small wiggle room to do anything radical unless you can get congress and senate to override the previous one, which is never an easy task.

One of the troubles with Nigeria is that there are no institutions that can function independently of the political arm. So without a strong leadership at the center, things can go awfully wrong. Even if we get our dream president today, it will take years to build independent, functional institutions like the Labor dept, Federal reserve which oversea monetary policies, FBI, ATF, etc, that can function at their best always.

While Obama clearly should take some credit for the resolution of the Boston bombings, he was aided by strong institutions that could have done the job anyway, no matter who is president.

At least he didn't tell his people it was ''Americas turn'' or that they should accept terrorism as a way of life.
