InvestmentRe: What Percentage Do You Pay As Commission For Every Buy and Sell Deals on NSE? by Remii(m): 7:20am On Jun 24, 2009
Find out details from your broker it is either you have some money left in your account or the shares were bought at higher prices than what you are using to calculate now, you know the bears are back now, just ask for transaction details. It is about 2.5% buying and 2.6% seliing all charges inclusive, so you have to buy and sell the same stock to get charged +- 5%

RomanceRe: Can Parents Decide Your Choice Of A Spouse? by Remii(m): 8:38am On Jun 21, 2009
It is not right to specify spouse for your children, but if child upbringing is right, the child should be able to chose husband or wife that the family would be comfortable with. While family acceptance is not utmost requirement but in case of unforeseen circumstances it is important to consider it.
PoliticsRe: Life Sentence For Protesting Soldiers: 'Cheating In Army Ruined My Career' by Remii(m): 8:06am On Jun 21, 2009
The military set up is different from civilian set up all over the world. It is total loyalty but it is sad that the system did that to the guys. Protest is not allowed and everything is done to discourage it including making scapegoats pay dearly. Way out is that if you are not cut out for it, leave, they will not allow you to break the ranks under any guise, simple. If you are fortunate to rise to the top you could decide to do the right thing until then obey the last command.

Why are we all now ranting and crying foul when surely we all had the chance to help determine the outcome of the poll?
For 50 card?. Omo i no dey that stupid.
Just like other polls and elections in Nigeria, people would not vote and they would complain about the results. The poll reflected the mind set of the participants simple. In future those who would want their opinion to count should participate.
However this result could not be taken too seriously since the collection base is SMS and only about 10m of 140m Nigerians are connected, about 7% even with 100% participation of GSM holders. .

PoliticsRe: Adeboye Wins Living Legend Polls by Remii(m): 8:29am On Jun 19, 2009
The poll results show the depth or shallowness of Nigerian minds. Considering the class of people that participated in the poll, that could be described as the working and supposedly enlighten group, it is not funny. However, the mode of poll collection would not make it representative of Nigerians minds though.

Now that Adeboye knows that his people recorgnise him, he should be bold to tell his friends in government to rule his people well and stop stealing.

Anyway Lagbaja may have his turn later, he is even an alumnus of OAU.

You are 100% right my bro,but the basis of my argument was simply that beign norminated for or having won a grammy's does not signify the academic significance of your music, They want him as a MUSIC LECTURER for God's sake, Like someone said its like having your old uncle in the village that has done farming all his life apply for the post of a lecturer at OAU the agriculture department, Then he would be sharing his wealth of FAULTY IDEAS and not experience with the students.huh? grin grin grin, Someone then would want to argue that he has the largest farm in their village, d'you know what i mean now ,

And then micheal jackson should be made to lecture rock and pop at berkleeys or royal college of music,

I think the problem is people's view of what music really is, it's got its own professional side,
If it is knowledge based and there is prove that "Papa" developed a special way of growing his own crops better than other farmers why not document and improve on what he is did for the benefit of others, not all methods used today in all fields were developed in the universities, I think, lots of African medicine (not the diabolical, oh) had been lost because of our western tainted minds, as if Africans did not cure themselves of sicknesses before advent of Orthodox medicine. We need to learn from people who succeeded without formal training who know that may lie the link to our indigenous technology development. We should be able to identify basic knowledge, refine them and discard irrelevant aspects.

,

Oga remii na wao, Please try to verify information before you pass it unto us in this forum oo, Sunny ade was not the first nigerian to be neminated for grammy's, Actually a nigerian musician called Babatunde Olatunji  has won grammys before, In 1991 Olatunji received a Grammy Award for his
collaboration with Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart on "Planet Drum, Won a nomination for the 1998 Grammy for Best World Music Album,

He speaks english comprehensively well though, but music is taught in the language of music and that is why we call music a UNIVERSAL language, I wont be surprised if you dont understand what i mean,

If by chance OAU wants to give that honour to any nigerian artiste, then they should have given it to the one that is mostly deserved of it in all ways before his death. And that is no other person than FELA  ANIKULAPO KUTI, As a matter of fact his music is studied at different institutions cut across the globe, and OAU Herself would be so honoured to have someone like fela lecture there,

The point is that the effect of your music amongst the music elites in the country and around the world  is what should be the basis of granting such honour ,

Allnotwithstanding there is still something the students can learn from him, especially those that wants to study JUJU MAJOR, smiley smiley smiley smiley

The appointment as a lecturer is not really needed because he doesnt understand the language of MUSIC, but if you argue that he does, then there's high hopes for  the likes of 9ice,tuface,Konga,Oriefonkasibe and the likes, even Kleva j, I rest my case

Ifababa: May be you too need to check your records. Syncro System was realised in 1976 and it got KSA first Grammy nomination the second nomination was "Odu" in 1999. Check and correct me if am wrong.
PoliticsRe: Oau Appoints Sunny Ade As A University Lecturer. by Remii(m): 2:42pm On Jun 09, 2009
I respect everyone right to his view, but I wonder why people write as if KSA would be teaching all the subjects required to get BA (Music), Has anyone listen to this guy speak, do would you tell me that he speaks like a one does not not know what is is talking about, this is a musician that has been recognised world wide and has been the first Nigerian musician to be nominated for Grammy Awards back in 1980s, the only second person is Femi Kuti, who did not go to school too. What the university would make attempt to get from him his practical aspect of music. Could someone tell me the degree Bill gate received from the university before he developed WINDOWS. Knowledge is knowledge and God puts it where He wants, we should put sentiments apart if we really want to transfer of knowledge that would survive after our generation.
PoliticsRe: Oau Appoints Sunny Ade As A University Lecturer. by Remii(m): 11:01pm On Jun 08, 2009
This is not entirely new development as such, Yemi Elubuibon was a visiting lecturer on Ifa to African Studies Dept (Yoruba) of University of Ife. He does the same to a university in Brazil and I think in Atlanta, Georgia. There are traditional drummers and dancers teaching would be professionals the basics of the trade in various universities. It is all about making the graduate close to reality that just theory alone. The people who explain practical welding to engineers and electrical/electronic workshop are not university graduates, they do not set questions and they do not mark or award marks, main lecturer of the course does all that.
PoliticsRe: Oau Appoints Sunny Ade As A University Lecturer. by Remii(m): 10:22pm On Jun 08, 2009
I think it is good and positive development what he would teach would be practical aspects of music, I suppose, his notes and course content may have be drawn by department. Engineers learn a lot from technicians and artisans in workshop courses. I think this is in the same line for musical students.

Absolutely not. Im not that petty. Just that I do not believe that the sharia thing is relevant. I saw it as absurd that it always kept being mentioned along side the guys qualification. (as the only first class and foreign degree he had)
I also noticed that this was due to fact that the resume is relatively lightweight so it was being padded up with an irrelevant qualification. Next they might add that he has a black belt in Karate.
Whether he is Muslim or not, the guy doesn't have as much a pedigree to run the CBN and steer the  Nigerian economy as much as his predecessor.
This guy has been the best CBN governor you've ever had . Take it or leave. His shoes are too large for this lightweight to fill. The performance of our financial sector (the only shinning light in our economy attests to that)
With Islamic banking and global recession, I wont even bother to comment on that. Other readers will just have to make up their minds on your level of intelligence.
Good to read you at not blinded with religious bigotry however, per level of your non intelligence you have written enough for me to know that all you need to decide on a qualified personnel for a job is paper certificate and preferably should not be from Nigeria. People like you is the part of the reasons student these days now do whatever it takes to get certificates even if they are unable to defend it.

hi biina and @kobojunkie I still need this guys resume . I don't seem to find his resume on firstbank website or even cbn website. Can someone please provide me with his resume (something like I detailed Soludos) as I need to start selling him to colleagues who are still sceptical.

NB: Pls omit the sharia thing ! grin
Adigun101: For your information, Islamic Banking system has not been affected with the current global reccession and your so called Western world are considering it as a possible way out of avoiding future recession. So mind your language and do not allow your religious bigotry to blind your eyes from facts. One would just hope that your comments and contributions have not been based on Soludo is Christian and Sanusi is Muslim.

It's approx 6 months later in this case i.e. she did the waiting period.
6 gini, 180 days? huh, lead us not into temptations.
Meanwhile, those who do exclusive breast feeding seem not conceive within the period of one year, those whose could not wait may find out and consider exclusive breast feeding, good for the baby and the father too.
