^^^ people are just superstitious, that is why fake spiritualists clean out a lot of people with something that any common sense can decode. Gregorian calender was developed by human being, it is just that it is most used world wide, so any date or numbering occurrence has no spiritual significance. shikena.
Gregorian calendar was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII, by a decree signed on 24 February 1582. So what is spiritual with a factual date to track time.

There are so many other calenders, Coptic, Islamic, Ethiopians, Korean, American, Yoruba, Chinese, Hindu, and so on and so on.

People need to read to free themselves from fraud.

we have always been praying, we even have the biggest praying hall in the world, so we need to do more than pray. "leaders are also prayer warriors" they get anointing and blessing from both mosques, churches and even shrines, lol
BusinessRe: Why Nigeria May Remain Underdeveloped - Sanusi by Remii(m): 8:15am On Oct 30, 2011
I think one of State or Local Govt should be scrapped.  Preferably LGs, they should not be recognised by FGN. States can divide themselves to as many development units as they like.

Music/RadioRe: Who Is Nigeria's King Of Highlife Music? by Remii(m): 10:17pm On Oct 25, 2011
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Benson

Bobby Benson started by playing standard big band music, but later introduced African themes, as a pioneer of Highlife music in Nigeria. His song "Taxi Driver" became a classic hit in West Africa, covered by several other musicians, blending Caribbean and Jazz styles. Other hits were "Gentleman Bobby" and "Iyawo se wo lose mi", "Mafe", "Nylon Dress" and "Niger Mambo".[4]

Various prominent musicians started out playing in Benson's band, including Roy Chicago, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Bayo Martins and Zeal Onyia.[1] Victor Olaiya started as a trumpeter with Bobby Benson's band, and became one of the first Nigerian musicians to play highlife with his group the "Cool Cats". Another player with Benson's band who moved into highlife was Eddie Okunta, with his "Lido Band".[5] Benson's innovations in musical style also influenced the evolution of popular Jùjú music.[6]

"Taxi Driver," his biggest hit, and "Niger Mambo," an African melody with the Latin beat, were covered with different interpretations by American artists such as Stanley Turrentine and Jackie Mclean.[7] Randy Weston covered "Niger Mambo" in a solo performance on his 1978 album "Rhythms-Sounds Piano", describing the piece as representing exactly what is called "high life style" in West Africa.[8]

This was the same way Babangida forced all his SAP conditionalities  on us, saying that we just have to have them or Nigeria collapse, we all know what happened to Naira and Nigeria since then.

Even America has subsidy in her economy, steel and cotton are highly subsidized in the US or else their industry would collapse.
PoliticsRe: Who Is The Worst State Governor Ever In Human History? by Remii(m): 11:02pm On Oct 24, 2011
I think Ali Modu Sherrif is a major contender, the founder of Boko Haram himself. This guy once told journalists to stop writing trash about him because less than 5% of his people could read what they were writing. If a Gov is proud of mass illiteracy in his land while he steals them blind, that levees much to be desired. According to Jerry Useni, this same Governor, once told him that petrol hacking youths were ready tools to turn election results around, when Jerry boy was wondering why so many youth wandering jobless on the street.

The next candidate should be the Lucky boy. Igbinedion, who the father begged Edo people to allow him "re-sit" since they claimed he failed the first term.

Then Turaki Saminu, the governor that was never in his state. This guy spent most fund to build computer centers in schools even when kids have no chairs or books to read.

He would ve been an hausa man. They are power drunk  not forgetting the sit tight syndrome which they posess. Ironically they (libyans) are also muslims. Abacha tried to be a life president but he failed. (died). Such things cannot happen here in naija. Our multi-Ethnicity status as a nation will not permit that.
Yet the longest Nigerian ruler was Yakubu Gowon, that was removed via a coup after 9 years and OBJ that wanted third term after 4 +8 years of governing Nigeria, both are Christains and none Hausa to my knowledge. Can't Nigerians discuss without religious comment? Why so much hatred for Islam and Hausa? Why?

Gadhafi was looks-conscious until the end

Thursday brought to an abrupt end the months-long hunt for Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi. But as authorities seek to piece together a timeline of his final moments, some striking reminders of his extravagant lifestyle have emerged.

The Washington Post reports Friday that when investigators performed DNA testing on Gadhafi's body, they learned that the vainglorious strongman was wearing a wig. Interim Prime Minster Mahmoud Jibril told the Post that an autopsy team took samples of Gadhafi's blood, saliva and hair--and soon discovered that the hair did not actually belong to the former dictator. Gadhafi's body is now at a mosque outside of Sirte.

The former dictator was known for his vanity--in March, a Brazilian plastic surgeon came forward with an account of a four hour cosmetic procedure he'd performed on Gadhafi in 1995. "He told me that he had been in power for 25 years at that time, and that he did not want the young people of his nation to see him as an old man," Dr. Liacyr Ribeiro told the AP. "I recommended a facelift, but he refused." Gadhafi received hair plugs and had fat from his belly injected into his face to counteract the appearance of aging. The operation occurred in the middle of the night in Gadhafi's compound in Tripoli. He insisted on local anesthesia, so he could remain awake during the procedure; midway through the surgery, he paused to snack on a hamburger.

Gadhafi's hair, real or fake, was a signature. In a 2009 piece anointing the dictator a style icon, Vanity Fair said that Gadhafi's tonsorial look betrayed the influence of wild-maned rock impresario Phil Spector. The magazine put together a slide show of the dictator's fashions--a "homage to a sartorial genius of our time."

My God console the family of the deposed. Unless well connected, police would have twisted the case so much that even the family may not be able to show up to collect the corpse of the poor guy.

PoliticsRe: Why Did Awo Lose The 1979 Election? by Remii(m): 8:11am On Oct 15, 2011
Onlytruth:
^^

The point is that Eastern politicians were partly responsible for Awo serving his jail term in the East instead of the North.
In continuation of that spirit, Ojukwu ensured he was safe in the East and returned home safely.
The sense of betrayal stem from that feeling that he (Awo ) quickly forgot all those.
Awo was in Gowon led Nigerian government as Finance Minister and Vice Chairman of the ruling council, if you were in his shoes what would you have done? Be a traitor to the government you are serving or what? In one of his books, he said he met Ojukwu to discuss the need for Nigeria to stay as on and avoid the war, but Ojukwu did not accept. So he discharged his duty loyally to the person he was working for at the time.
