Sambroose, nice try, simple, the conclusion was unexpected for me, with a message to pass along. Good job, will keep the remainder of my opinion for later.

Preceedo: your a great writer. Ur narrative techniques and dictions are just breathtaking. I see another even better CHIMANDA ADICHIE emerging. You have the same potentials like her if not more. YES, life showed some people its white teeth but gives some people its dirty tongue to brush. Keep it up dear.

HumbledbYGrace: your allowed to edit, modify your submission until the closing date.
I support this, very fair. I'm sure fibre will be happy to hear this, I'm also happy.

foxy, habatically, e never reach like dis nao.....calm down small abeg, the competition is just beginning, lets not start with chaos. The judges were not told earlier to keep their opinion to themselves. We've taken correction and writers have been given a chance to work on their stuff. If they like sef Dem fit change story.

please calm down, let this thing be peaceful and enjoyable for everyone.

For me a think the 10000 words idea would b great....for subsequent editions anyway. The plot would be better developed. for me personally, it would be easier to write a 10000 word story to a 2500 word story cos there'll be more depth. 2500 words is more of an essay and quite short.
Anyway, good luck, maybe there should be a prize for who submits first to ginger some people. I'm on standby o, waiting to read.
Literature › Re: Short Story Competition by repogirl(f):
Wow, Miss Efe, I have definitely taken down notes from your list of requirements up there for use when I'm going over my work.

writers, no fear, just calm down and enjoy yourself. For me, humour is a plus, witty, suspenseful and thrilling story lines. Make me believe your story, I want to fall in love with your characters, romance writers, that's my genre grin, so do it right....or else ..... >sad smiley

also when writing short stories like this, be sure to start with a bang, if you can't catch my attention in the first few paragraphs, I might toss it away o.

good luck guys, may the best man/ woman win.

My issue with abuja clinics is that they usually have a lot of patients and not enough doctors on call, usually only one or two. Also, my daughter was seriously ill sometime and the doctoor wanted to place her on admission but all the wards were full.
She had arecurring case of malaria that kept us going back every 2 months until we sWitched to Zankli hospitals where they immediately put her on admission and seriously dealth with the malaria. It hasn't been back for over a year now, she hasn't been sick since.
Also the drugs these our hospitals stOck are local and poor quality, most oif the time, we have to buy better ones from pharmarcies.

Before I forget, I gave birth to my first kid in abuja clinics and I almost died there o, I had a better birthing experience at zankli. Professionally I prefer Zankli but the wards and toilets aren't neat at all. While infrastructure wise, abua clinics has got equipments.
Now am expecting my third kid and am with Nisa Premier, so far it looks promising, I think I prefer them to Abuja clinics.
