Deifa was not happy with her boyfriend. She didn’t give a hoot if he was hurting or whatever, he had no right to have talked to his father that way, he should have at least listened to what the elderly man had to say first before reacting whichever way he wanted to. She’d told him as much on the drive over to Dare’s place doubting if he had even listened because he’d not said a thing. He didn’t know what it felt like to have no living parents, what she wouldn’t give to have a chance to see either of her parents again even for only five minutes. He should be grateful for this chance, he had been given a chance to know his father and he was being too stubborn and pigheaded to realise the opportunity he was throwing away. She was so angry she’d banged pots and pans all through the lunch she’d been preparing, hoping it would help alleviate the anger she was feeling. It hadn’t helped much. For a great guy, he could be so annoying, and to think he thought she was the unnerving one. She placed the dishes on a tray and carried it upstairs to the study where he was working. He looked up from his laptop as she entered, his eyes taking in the tray of food she carried. He smiled. Had he thought she wouldn’t feed him because she was angry with him? She didn’t return his smile however, she was too angry with him to do that. “Deifa…” He called sensing her anger. She didn’t respond as she went about setting the dishes by the side of the table. She sensed he was staring at her, probably thinking of how best to talk to her. He placed a hand on hers instead. This got her to pause in her actions. She looked from her hand to him, he’d finally gotten her attention, did he have anything important to say? “Yes?” “What do you want me to do, Deifa?” “I want you to listen to what your father has to say!” He sighed and took his hand off hers. “That’s a very difficult thing you’re asking of me. I can’t…You don’t understand how I feel Deifa.” “The same way you don’t understand how I feel.” She told him. “What do you mean?” “I’m an orphan, TK. I have no chance of seeing either of my parents ever again, do you know what I would do just to have a glance at them?” “Our cases are different.” “Really? Why because your father didn’t want you to be born? Tekena, people make bad decisions all the time, the point is he wants your forgiveness now, he wants to reconcile with you. If you’ll just listen to what he’s got to say, you would…..” “That’s enough, Deifa. I get the drift, its not happening.” He cut her off. She resisted the urge to slam the tray on the desk, she calmly picked it up instead. “Thanks for the lunch.” He said. “Hope you don’t choke on it.” She replied him and heard him chuckle. She took her anger out on the door instead and slammed it, feeling a bit of her anger ebb but it still wasn’t enough. The guy was infuriating and she wondered why she liked him so much, every passing day her feelings for him deepened. She was falling and couldn’t help herself. Why did he have to be so damn stubborn? She went downstairs, back into the kitchen and gathered the pots and pans she’d used to cook, preparing to wash them when the sudden appearance of two hooded figures in her kitchen scared the living daylights out of her. The pots and pans went crashing to the floor causing a great noise. The dog also began barking. One of them had a gun which he pointed at her. ‘Sh'it!’ She thought, armed robbers? She wondered as her hands automatically went up in the air. “Lie down.” The one without a gun spoke up and she obeyed immediately. “Where is your boyfriend?” The one with a gun asked. ‘Oh no, Tekena!’ Hope they wouldn’t hurt him. She refused to talk and he gave her a hot slap “Where is your boyfriend? B’itch!” “Hey.” The other one cautioned him “There’s no need for that. Look around, I’ll be here with her.” “Keep your eyes on her.” The one with the gun said. The slap was still ringing in her ear as he left, she hoped her face didn’t swell. Who were these? What sort of robbers attacked in the afternoon? She began to suspect they weren’t robbers, the texts came into mind and she wondered if there was a link. If there was only a way to give Tekena a signal. ******* ‘What the hell?’ Tekena heard the loud crash as he was about to dig into his food. He got up as the dog started barking. Was Deifa still venting? He doubted she would throw pots on the floor just because she wasn’t happy with him. He needed to check on her but first he wondered why the dog was barking like that when nothing was disturbing it. Walking over to the window, he peeped and what he saw made him pause for at least a second. There was an unknown person standing beside the dog’s house and worse he had a pistol. ‘What the-?’ “Deifa!” That must have been the reason for the crash. His first instinct was to run down the stairs to the kitchen but then he knew he would be running into an ambush. He had to think of something else fast. Leaving the study, he walked down the corridor to Dare’s room which was on the same floor he was.It was the master bedroom and had a balcony attached to it. First he checked that there was no one downstairs and then climbed over the railing, without thinking twice he jumped. It was a one storied building so not much damage could happen, hopefully. Landing on his feet, knees bent, he quickly rolled over on his side to his back, taking pressure immediately off his legs before getting up to check if he was fine. Quickly, he scanned the area for a weapon. All he could find were a few wooden planks left over from when Dare was having the dog house built. He picked up one of them and soundlessly made his way over to where he’d seen the assailant. The dogs barking helped cover up whatever sound he was making. The guy had his back to him. Tekena moved fast, holding the plank with both hands he slammed it on to the guys head from behind, right below the ear, in the hollow behind the ear lobe. He went down immediately; he would have a horrible headache when he woke up in the next few hours. Picking up the handgun, he dumped it in some flowers. |

kenny1795: I hv a question; Do u think Edna did d right thing by keeping this secret away frm ha son?? Ave been tryin 2 analyse dxI don't think she did, I'd like to look at it like this, at first she wanted him to mature first, get to an age he'll be able to understand the implication of it all and then when he came of age she kept postponing it afraid of how he'll handle the news. |
As usual, this is just part one, the second one packs a punch, you dont want to miss it. I think that one will be ready by or before midnite, bear with me abeg, I know thats quite late. |
CHAPTER 15 Tekena was parked outside the house, he had no plans of going in per chance he ran into his mother. Deifa was the reason he was here, they had some shopping to do for Dare's party the next day. Deifa had offered to cater for he event, and he being her boyfriend had to assist her. She, Tonye and a few of their friends were planning on preparing some light snacks and finger foods the next day. The two had begun a sort of truce of their own, they were not exactly friends yet but they could manage a conversation without going at each others throats’. He’d given Dare the go-ahead to let his girlfriend into the house, largely because of pressure from Deifa. She'd convinced him that Tonye hadn’t wronged him in anyway and he should stop keeping the poor girl away from her boyfriend’s house. She was still trying to get him to work things out with his mom, but that was a definite no-no for him. That would never happen. Work things out with a woman who could keep a secret as great as this for such a long time? She could never be trusted, He knew he would never trust her with anything ever again. It was about two weeks now since he’d received the shock of his life and he was still hurting, the wound of betrayal still felt really fresh in his heart. He wondered if it would ever stop hurting, they said time healed all but he wasn’t sure about this one. This was just too painful. He picked up his phone to call her and let her know he was outside. "TK?" She asked "Yeah, Dee, I'm parked outside, how far?" "Oh great, do you mind coming up for a second? I can't zip my gown up." She told him. He frowned." Are you for real, Deifa?” Was this a joke? “What?” She asked acting confused. “You want me to come upstairs to zip up your gown? You couldn't even try to come up with a better lie?" She sighed"I'm serious, TK. My hand can’t reach it" "Wear something without a zip then." He told her, he wasn't going into the house, it was an obvious trap. "What do you mean wear something without a zip? This is what I feel like wearing today, if you don’t come up then you can forget about going out." "Oh, really?" He asked, now she was threatening him? "Yes, really." She replied hanging up. 'Hell!' He exclaimed looking at the dead phone in his hand. One of these days, he swore, he was going to spank that girl. She knew him too well, She knew he would go in. For her, he would do anything even something he really didn’t want to. She wasn’t going to get off easily though, she was going to hear it from him. **** Deifa was putting together the last of the things she would need at Dare’s house. She planned on spending the weekend there because she had some things to do in preparation for the party. Tekena had suggested it, she was sure it was because he wanted to keep an eye on her. He was really taking the texts thing seriously, She knew it was someone playing a joke. Tekena just loved to overreact sometimes. He was such a sweetheart, in the short while they’d been together, she knew she could trust him with her life. He was so dependable and she didn’t mind ruffling his feathers a bit every once in a while. He didn’t like her bringing up the issue about him and his mother, it was a topic that they didn’t see eye to eye on. He hated fighting and so did she but she was going to do all she could to bring mother and son back together even if she had to use obvious tricks. He would be pissed for a while she knew, but if that meant he would have a conversation with his mother, then she could live with getting him a bit angry. “Deifa!” the subject of her thoughts barged into her room “ What was that about?” She didn’t bother giving him face, it was better this way, he would talk and rant for while and it would all go into one of her ears and came out the other. “You think I don’t know you’re trying to set me up to see my mom?” He asked “Do you think I’m that dumb?” “I didn’t say that. You just did.” She told him not able to keep herself from replying him. “Are you telling me that I said I am dumb?” He asked her frowning. “Am I?” She asked him. “Stop that crap, you are trying to distract me!” He told her waving a finger “You’re not even wearing anything with a zip for crying out loud.” She smiled “ I changed my mind. Come on, lets go.” She picked up her bags, leaving the heavier one for him. “One of these days Deifa….” He warned as he picked up the bag. “What in the world is in this bag? You are only staying for the weekend! You’re packed like you are going away for a month.” “Just carry the bag, TK. Did you see your mom in the living room?” “No. I took the back door.” She rolled her eyes, ‘artful dodger’, she thought. Well, he wouldn’t dodge this time. “We’re taking the front door this time, I have some cooking utensils in the kitchen I need to take along.” “How convenient. Deifa, you need to drop this interfering of yours, its starting to get on my nerves.” She smiled sweetly “You know how I love getting on your nerves.” “Stop it Deifa? Just stop. Just leave this thing alone, Deifa its between me and her. I don’t know why you’re involving yourself.” Now she turned on him, He needed to know some truths “Its not between you and her, TK! I’m your girlfriend, I care about you and I can see what this issue is doing to you. Unlike you, I want it to be resolved once and for all so that you can move on. It concerns me because I care about your well being.” “I swear you can be unnerving.” He told her “And you like it.” She said continuing on her way. He shook his head. They’d gotten to the living room. His mother who was seated there got up on seeing him. Like her son, this thing was also taking its toll on her, she wasn’t looking like her usual self even Deifa felt sorry for her. “Tekena, I didn’t know you were around.” Deifa turned to look at her handsome, Greek god look alike of a boyfriend whose expression had turned into stone. She rolled her eyes, gosh he could be so bloody stubborn, he won’t even give his poor mother a chance. “I’m not here to listen to anything else you have to say, mom” He said the ‘mom’ with so much disdain “I’m leaving.” The woman barely shielded the pain that crossed her face “I understand, but just have this.” She handed him a large picture album. He looked at it but made no move to collect it, Deifa took it from her for him. She would make sure he went through it. Her eyes went back to his face and for a second she could have sworn, she saw him crack, his eyes had softened, as if he’d seen and understaood his mothers suffering, as if he’d understood what she might be passing through. It happened really fast, so fast she wasn’t sure if she’d seen it. Without another word he turned to her “Your cooking utensils? She suddenly remembered them “oh, yeah.” “I’ll be in the car.” He told her leaving, but not before he gave her an angry glare. ‘great!’ now he was really angry with her. ******* The Senator was patiently waiting in his son’s offices, he’d met with Tekena’s business partner earlier who had made a call to Tekena and had told him that Tekena was now on his way down. He knew this wasn’t a great idea but he had to try something instead of just sitting, folding his hands waiting for some miracle to happen. He had to see him, his son, blood of his blood, flesh of his flesh. He couldn’t help but smile as he remembered his last talk with him. The boy looked so much like he did, even his wife, Tammy agreed. Edna had done a great job in his upbringing. From the short conversation ha and Tekana had, Marc had gathered that his son was a handsome, smart and considerate young man. He was a very proud father even though he’d not lent a hand in his upbringing. He knew he couldn’t turn back time and so he needed to make amends for all these years he’d missed out on knowing his son. Tekena might rebuff his advances but it was better to have tried and failed than not to have tried at all. He was currently sitting in the office he guessed was designated to his son. It was nothing too much, not large but well furnished, he guessed Tekena had good taste. How many young men his age had a job, talk more about running there own business? Even if the capital had come from his step father , he’d managed to keep it afloat for a few years now, that was really impressive. The door knob opened and his son came in, behind him was a girl, a very pretty young lady. Tekena stopped in his tracks as he recognised his visitor. “Hello….Son.” He said uncertainly. “Don’t! I am not your son!” Tekena told him. The girl behind him was probably his girlfriend, she touched his arm as she said pleadingly “Tekena please.” But He was obviously too angry to adhere to her plea. “I don’t want to see you ever! Not ever! You are not my father, no matter what you think. Being a father is much more than fertilizing an egg, you hear me! Next time I see you, I’m calling security!” “Tekena!” That was the girl again, he ignored her, turned and left the room instead. ‘well, that was short!’ Marc thought to himself. He’d seen for himself just how angry he still was. “I’m sorry sir,” She apologised “he’s…he’s not usually like this.” She said “I understand.” Marc managed a smile for her benefit, she looked so embarrassed. She was so tall and beautiful. “You are?” He extended a hand to her “I’m Deifa Silva.” She told him accepting his hand in a hand shake. This was Chief Silva’s daughter, the one whom Edna had said could get through to Tekena who was also very likely his girlfriend. Tekena did know how to pick them. “Please give him some more time, he will come around eventually, right now he’s still hurting.” She told him “I really have to go now.” She told him and he nodded. “Sure.” He told her. “ a pleasure meeting you.” “Thankyou Sir.” She said as she took her leave. Marc decided it was about time he also left seeing as how his presence hadn’t made a difference or added any positive value. He decided toleave his son alone for a while, like she’d suggested and hope he came around finally. He was travelling to Bayelsa the next day for business and would be there for a while. He hoped that would take his mind off things and when he returned, they would be able to relate better. ********* |

Why Skyfall Sucked Posted on November 11, 2012 by DanBrassil I love James Bond films – I have seen and enjoyed them all many times over. This is why I was so surprised how bad Skyfall was after seeing it. The previews for the movie really set expectations high with “the best Bond movie yet”. Quite a statement considering how great the old movies were such as Dr. No as well as how the newer ones such as Casino Royale. This is my summary on why Skyfall sucked. Do not read this if you have not seen the movie as it basically contains a synopsis. Let’s start with the opening scene. Someone steals a list of secret agents from a computer in a hotel room. First, this has already been done with Mission Impossible – start with something a little more original. Second, why was this information on a laptop in Turkey? At least Mission Impossible had this info stored in an embassy After Bond gets picked up in the SUV and they take off after the bad guy (Patrice), they end up in a gunfight where Patrice takes out this gun with a double barrel supply of bullets. He obviously can’t carry that in his jacket which is the point of a handgun for this. Why wouldn’t he just use automatic assault rifle? Also, how many bullets were fired during this scene – and now one gets hit? What is this, GI Joe (the cartoon)? You are a spy and an assassin and neither of you can shoot your target? Next. So Patrice apparently uses depleted uranium bullets. These are supposed to be used because uranium is a denser material so it can pierce through more materials such as metal but they don’t go through the metal of the Caterpillar when Bond is in it? Also, MI6 is able to find out how this guy is as apparently only three “bad guys” in the world use depleted uranium bullets. Only three guys in the world use this type of bullet? Do they not know that government agencies could track them this way? Smooth moves Patrice! Next. Bond is fighting Patrice on the train (with a gun shot to his shoulder) and then gets shot off the train. First, where did he get shot the second time? I saw where he was shot the first time (shoulder) but where was the second bullet wound? Also, he gets hit twice, falls off a train with enough height to kill someone, and still survives? Bourne rip off. Later, we find out that there were still bullet fragments inside his body – he just left them in there? What was the point of that? Next. the evil villain who we haven’t met yet blows up MI6 by turning on the gas. Really? You can access gas to a secured government facility by internet? So a haggard Bond comes back to MI6 and goes after Patrice in Shanghai. First, we see Patrice just walk into a building and shoot the security guard – why was the front door not locked? No cameras he was worried about? No one else in the building at all to worry about walking in or out (cleaning crew, someone working late) who would call the cops while he is stuck in the building? We follow him upstairs to find out he is about to assassinate some guy in another high rise building. At first, I thought “oh, the guy who is about to get shot has bodyguards so the villain needs an assassin to take him out.” Nope, those bodyguards work for the villain so that means there are 4 people in that room and 3 are with the villain but they need to pay an assassin 4 million euros to take him out? One of the three could’t have brought a gun with them or knife and just saved the 4 million? Anyway, Bond lets Patrice kill the guy before doing anything. I understand Bond is supposed to be ruthless but that just sounds stupid. You let your enemy kill his enemy – why wouldn’t you save him to see what value he would be, I mean he is the enemy of your enemy and all. So in a homage to old Bond films, 007 finds a clue in a poker chip which Patrice was supposed to cash if for the job. Alright, a little cheesy but alright (they wouldn’t have done that in Casino Royale). Hell, why didn’t they just wire him the money? Anyway, Bond fights three guys in a casino with a briefcase full of money that he throws around like it is empty (I am thinking 4 million euros weighs quite a bit). Bond has a gun on him and he knows these guys want to kill him but he doesn’t pull it out and shoot or just say “hey, i have a gun, get out of my way or I am going to shoot you.” Also, since when do these types of lizards eat people? Next, he goes on a boat to hook up with the typical Bond girl full well knowing that the guys on the boat probably work for the main villain. They just let him on board the boat? And he gets to sleep with the villain’s girl? Did she really not know she was going to die for doing this? What, she just could’t resist Bond so she sleeps with him right below all the villain’s bodyguards? Why did they let him on board and not immediately cuff him? Next, the Bond girl dies (well that was quick). Suddenly, Bond is able to take out 5 guys at the same time even though he was unarmed and they all had guns. Amazing since he couldn’t take out Patrice at the beginning of the film even while he had a gun. About that island. How did the villain (Silva) get an entire island? Fear of a chemical leak that evacuates an entire island and the world press nor any country investigates? Amazing! So this former MI6 spy is also a genius computer hacker? If he is not the hacker, who is? They can just hack into the MI6 whenever they want? A little stretched. Everyone is back at the new MI6 headquarters and the new Q plugs their computer system into Silva’s laptop which suddenly hijacks their computer system. WHAT? This is the smartest computer guy at MI6 and he didn’t think this could happen? Really? Anyway, M is in a hearing with top government officials when a train (with apparently no passengers) plunges through a tunnel. When that happened and it would most likely be viewed as a terrorist attack, they kept on with the proceedings in the courtroom? Wouldn’t they stop the proceedings to deal with something like this? Then Silva and his henchmen just walk in the courtroom by only shooting one security guard at the entrance? One guard is it? And once inside, no one can kill the Silva with all the shots fired? So Silva miraculously gets away and Bond thinks the best solution is to go “off the grid” instead of using all British intelligence to track this guy down? He is in the UK where cameras are everywhere and the they decide to go AWOL with M as bait. 2nd, they don’t stop to get any weapons along the way? While some may like the old Aston Martin as a homage to the best, I thought is was too cheesy. When there is nothing new for a franchise, it inevitably starts to feed on itself with references to what was already done. This is only the 3rd movie in this re-imagined Bond – no need to start referencing the past yet. Skyfall? Seriously? Bond is apparently a rich orphan? Stop stealing from Batman! He is an orphan that did not come from money – that is why he has a chip on his shoulder (as diagnosed by the Bond girl in Casino Royale on the train). This is a rip off of Harrison Ford’s Witness (and not done as well). So I don’t know why Silva didn’t attack at night under the cover of darkness, but whatever. Also, turning light bulbs into bombs? Was that M or MacGyver? What exactly caused that big explosion when the helicopter flew into the house? Don’t think even a full fuel tank could have caused that. Next. M and the caretaker escape to the church. Not really a bright idea to use a flashlight so that the bad guys can track you. Bond of course follows running in the open across a frozen pond, not a bright idea to run across in the open but whatever. So once he was caught and Silva’s henchman is right next to him with a gun, why did he not have his gun not directly pointed at Bond? Was he hoping to ricochet a bullet off the ice at him? Wow, didn’t see that coming. Wait, I saw this in Cliffhanger When Silva reaches the church why were M and the caretaker not ready for anyone to come after them? Why would they assume no one saw them walking over to the church? I mean they did have their flashlight on. In the end, Silva wants M to kill them both. Some Bond villains are driven by money or world domination but this guy is driven by his mommy issues? Seriously? Silva is apparently the best hacker the world has ever seen and instead of rigging banks to transfer money into his accounts or taking over countries, his main plan is to get back at mum? To summarize: this movie sucked. http://stlouisgetout.com/2012/11/11/why-skyfall-sucked/ |

` Deifa was parked outside Dare’s house waiting. The gate was locked from the outside and so she guessed no one was home. She’d decided to wait because she had to see TK this evening, nothing was going to be in her way. It had been five days now and she really missed him. It was about time they spoke and he heard her side of things. She’d been preparing to go to Dare’s place when his mother had sent for her. Deifa had been curious to know what the step monster had to say that she had rushed down immediately. Her step monster had pleaded with her to talk to him, that she was positive Tekena would listen to her. He’d always had a soft spot for her and if anyone could get to him it would be her. She also told her she’d seen them hanging around a lot more the past few weeks and she could tell there was a special bond they shared. She knew Deifa could get to him. The woman had begged Deifa to put whatever grudge they had aside and do this for her. Deifa had said a few things of her own, she’d felt it had been the right time to address some issues. She’d apologised for the nasty attitude she’d given her ever since she’d come into her family, it was because she’d thought her father would love the new wife more and her kids more than her, his daughter. Deifa had apologised for listening in on her conversation with the Senator and his wife and that was how she’d found out about everything. She’d also told her that she did like Tekena a great deal, he was a rare kind of guy and that she’d been preparing to go see him. Lastly, his mother had apologised for the way she’d treated her and that she should have acted better being the adult but she hadn’t. Now Deifa was waiting patiently in her car for someone to turn up. She’d been there about fifteen minutes already when she saw Tekena’s car drive up to the gate. She got out of her car and walked toward his car expecting him to come out from the driver’s side in order to open the gate. He came out of the passenger’s side instead and walked to the gate. She frowned, If he was in the passenger side, who’d been driving then? She walked down cautiously, maybe it was Dare. The car was driven in and Tekena began locking the gate when he saw her and froze. “Deifa?” He asked as if he wasn’t sure she was the one. “Hi.” She said managing an unsure smile. Not sure about how he would react she paused in her steps. The last time he’d seen her he’d been really angry. He didn’t look so good, she saw. “You didn’t give me a chance to explain myself, Tekena.” She started “At least you owe me that.” He stared at her, she could see he was torn, fighting with himself. He wanted to listen to her explanation but he was wary. “You should at least hear me out before you make your conclusions.” The sound of the car door closing got her attention and she looked in to the compound to see Angela, his ex-girlfriend., standing beside the car. She’d been the one driving. Her heart skipped a beat as her eyes darted from her to Tekena. Angela also stopped on seeing her. She got the picture here, he’d clearly moved on without wasting anytime at all. She turned and made her way back to her car. She’d wasted her time coming here, suddenly she was the angry one. She heard him running after her. “Deifa, Deifa.” He called but she didn’t turn. She’d thought he was different, well she guessed she was wrong. He was just like the others! “Deifa.” He held her arm when he got to her but she jerked it off. “Its not at all what you think.” “What I think? Do you know what I’m thinking? I’m thinking that at the first sign of trouble, he runs back to his former girlfriend. That’s what I’m thinking. Instead of hearing my part, talking to me, he is back hooking up with his ex!” “We’re not- “ He made a face “hooking up. and I are just good friends that’s all. Tonye told her to come see me, that’s why she’s here.” Deifa watched his face, he seemed to be telling the truth, he never lied anyway and she didn’t think he would start now. “Really, she just came in this afternoon and we went out for lunch. We talked for a while, nothing else. I swear to you, nothing else.” She saw that he didn’t look too good, his eyes were red “You haven’t been sleeping.” She observed. She couldn’t help but touch his face, he must be going through hell, she thought. He shrugged “Can you blame me?” “I’m so sorry you had to find out about your parents that way but thinking I was in on it with your mother was wrong. What would even make you think that? I and your mom have never been on speaking terms …till this afternoon anyway. Why would you think she would tell me such a thing and I would keep it away from you.” “I was angry, I wasn’t doing too much thinking. Look, we cant do this conversation here, lets go in.” He told her taking her hand. “And what about…?” She asked nodding her head in his ex-girlfriend’s direction. “Come let me introduce you guys.” He told her. Deifa saw that had already wandered out but was standing at a considerable distance from them, probably scared Deifa might want to get into a cat fight. “,” Tekena called and she came toward them cautiously. “I want you to meet Deifa, my girlfriend.” *********** Seeing Deifa made Tekena realise just how much he’d missed her. His heart had skipped a beat when he’d seen her outside, he was really glad she was here. She made him feel so much better. had made some excuse and had left knowing he and Deifa needed to talk. Lunch had gone okay, , after hearing his story had tried to lift his spirits. It had worked a bit, but he was nowhere near as happy as now, being with Deifa now. His lips were on hers the second the front door was closed. She didn’t resist, she kissed him back like she’d been expecting him to, her hands going around his shoulders while his held her waist. “I missed you, I missed this.” She told him. “Then why did you stay away for this long?” He asked her. “I didn’t know where you were till yesterday when I saw Lara. Besides I wanted you to calm down, I’ve seen what your temper can be like. I really didn’t want to be at the receiving end of it." He pulled her closer to himself “I missed you so much, although I kept telling myself that I didn’t. I’m really sorry about my behaviour that night. I was in shock, I still am but you make me feel so much better.” She smiled “ Can I tell you my version of things? How I found out?” She asked “No, I don’t care anymore.” He told her beginning to kiss her again. She pulled back “ But you should know.” “Later, right now, what I want is you.” He scooped her up into his arms and took her upstairs to his bedroom. ********* Osas watched from a distance where he was parked, the scenario playing before him. Deifa, Tekena and some other girl. Deifa was upset about something and Tekena was explaining something. He rolled his eyes, bored. He’d found out the past week that Deifa and that Tekena guy had begun some kind of relationship. The thing had made him really sick to the stomach. He’d considered going in right then and just putting a bullet into the two of them but had held himself back because he had needed a more elaborate plan. He also needed one or two people to help him with its execution. He’d come up with a really good plan and he had someone working with him on it, he was only waiting for the perfect time to execute it. They wouldn’t know what hit them when he did. For now he was content with just watching the house. They’d had some sort of fight sometime that week which had resulted in the guy moving out of the family house and moving in with a friend. If he was to attack, he had to do so when they were together. Kill two birds with a stone. He smiled as he brought out his phone and composed the next poem he would send to her later that night, careful that his I.D was blocked. You’re in my sights You’re in my mind soon off will go the lights And you, forever blind ‘Very soon, pretty one’, he thought. Very soon they would conclude their business. ******* Tekena hadn’t slept this well in a really long time. He’d had a peaceful, undisturbed sleep. He yawned and stretched as he came to, the grogginess slowly dissipating from his eyes. Glancing at the clock on the wall he saw it was ten thirty pm. Deifa was sleeping hudled close to him, like she needed the warmth of his body. He took his time to study her features, in her sleep she looked so young and innocent. She was beautiful from the top of her head to her feet. He felt some sort of pride that he had her all to himself. He knew he would do whatever he could to keep them together, he loved her too much to let her slip through his fingers even if it meant holding off on sex till she was ready. As long as they were together he was very content. She’d confessed that she’d listened in on his mother and the Senator while they’d been discussinhg, but had chickened out on telling him because she’d been scared how he’d react besides she didn’t think it was her place to do so. He’d brushed it all aside saying he didn’t want to hear anymore about all that. He was happy she was around and that was what mattered to him. Her phone buzzed and he picked it, not thinking anything about it. It was a text message he saw with a blocked ID, he frowned. ‘Why would someone do block his ID to send a text. He was about keeping the phone back when his finger mistakenly touched the screen , opening the message. He read it. You’re in my sights You’re in my mind soon off will go the lights And you, forever blind What was this about? He wondered and then decided to go through the texts, there were some others just like it with the same blocked ID. Tekena felt very uncomfortable reading them. They made the skin on his back crawl. They were obviously threats. As if sensing his discomfort, she began to stir. “Deifa.” He called “Hmmm” She opened an eye “yeah?” “You got a strange text.” He told her and She sat up slowly. “Do you know who’s sending you these texts?” Her eyes scanned the new message and then looked at him “I don’t.” “I saw the others. Why didn’t you say anything about it?” “I didn’t thnk anything about it, I thought someone was just playing. Do you think its serious.” “Deifa, these sound like life threatening messages, its like you have a stalker.” He told her. To this she burst into laughter “Stalker? Who would be as jobless as that? TK, please you are overreacting.” She obviously thought it was a joke but he was quite sure it wasn’t. Who would want to hurt her? The only person that came to mind was Osas but he knew the guy wouldn’t dare if he didn’t want trouble. It had to be someone else. Just then there was a knock on the door. “Hey.” Dare called “You okay in there.” Deifa’s eyes widened as large as saucers as she was topless. She dove under the covers just as Dare opened the door. “Oh Shi-!” Dare exclaimed as he slammed the door back closed. Tekena couldn’t help the burst of laughter that escaped him. Dare hadn’t known he had company. “Sorry.” Dare called just before his footsteps retreated. Deifa’s face appeared from beneath the covers. “Its not funny, Tk! Not funny at all.” She told him turning away from him. He pulled her to him “Sorry, love, “ He whispered into her ear as he nibbled on it. “But it was quite funny.” She playfully pushed him away but he didn’t budge. “You should lock the door, next time.” “Dare is not used to having people in his house, the doors have no keys on them.” “Then put a sock on the door or something.” “Alright then, I’ll do that next time.” She turned to look at him , he remembered the texts “You should really be careful until you find out who’s sending thos texts.” “Sure, whatever.” She rolled her eyes. “I’m more interested in talking about your mother.” He let her go immediately, it was as if she’d poured a bucket of water on him. He turned on his other side. “I really don’t want to go there. I’m feeling so good right now and I don’t want to spoil this feeling.” “Tekena she’s not doing well, just like you. Please, she made a mistake, can you forgive her?” “Deifa.” There was an edge in his voice, she kept quiet. He hated using that tone of voice with her but he needed her not to bug him at that moment. “I won’t say anything anymore for now but please think about it.” She told him, huddling into him again. He turned, pulling her into his arms. This was what he needed at the moment, he didn’t want to think about anything else. ******* |
