Spirit04: are citizens not running away from Nigeria that's not at war? It is normal for some people to panic during such conflict. There is a difference between applying for visa of advanced nation for years and taking the next available flight to any country that can be accessed without visa. Don't you Putinists get it still? The man is fuçked and a bigger comedian than Zelensky ever was. The only thing Russia got is 6000 nukes. |

I am very surprised at how cheap you seek to sell the West's propaganda. A country that amassed 190k troops before an invasion targeted at 3 days toppling of Kyiv is still on the back foot 7 months later and aggressively bombing what it calls its own territory. Your mumu strong o. |
Politics › Re: Why Lagos Should Be Credited For Its Stability And Developmental Drive by RepoMan007: 12:55am On Sep 22, 2022 |
The uniqueness of Lagos is tied to our laziness. We import so many things because we cannot produce. That makes the choicest importation state, Lagos, get a commission on what they wouldn't have had a commission on.
Instead of crude being refined in PH and Warri, crude is sent out, and comes in via Lagos. This gives Lagos extra income. Instead of palm oil to be grown and processed locally, it is imported via Lagos. The list is endless. Why won't Lagos have unusual wealth? |

Kasssandra: Well, it ain't helping the North much...insecurity is bad, and the poverty is growing, and the harvest is under threat.
The problem with Nigeria is, we think that what satisifes a nation of 10 million can be made to saitisfy a nation of 210 million . It is not possible, and it can not be possible.
Which is why I think that we have never had a good leader. If we had one, the first thing he or she would have done would have been to prioritise industrial development, and also make sure the engine room of the economy is allowed to make a profit...and crucially...keep away from subsides (except in education and possibly health), and make sure that everyone pays tax and that tax money does not miss.
Instead, we sell raw materials and share the money. Like most African countries. And small wonder, we are all broke. It is helping their elites and the elites know Buhari directly. What about OPLs secretly shares out? |

Reference: Completely out of touch with reality particularly as regarding taxation. Ask government about their tax receipts and discover that it has fallen due to the great big enemy, inflation. So seeking more taxation from those outside the net is just pie in the sky. It is not a chicken and egg situation. Government should fix the economy and all other things will be added unto them. This is the only economy I know where government does nothing about inflation. I mean absolutely nothing.
It carries on fuelling inflation, putting vested interests well ahead of the economy. Have you seen next years budget proposal set before the N/A.... full of inflationary spending. Abeg this economy is going nowhere. The root of this problem is the demonic structure that is built around sharing resources of minorities to another region. Once those favoured by this structure have interest in an issue, God help the logical reasoning prevail. Why is Dangote building refinery from scratch but none of four comatose refinery can be repaired? Why is Dangote getting forex ahead of small businesses. After giving him billions in forex, they cut out the small business man looking to buy electrical component or medical reusables of 50 USD. Is that fair? They gave tax waivers of 16 trillion Naira out but could deny about 2 trillion of that to barnish ASUU strike for eternity. |

murmee: Sorry to add another angle to this topic. Can someone please explain to me why it is now difficult to receive money sent from families or associates from abroad. When you go to any bank in Nigeria to process money sent from abroad through Moneygram or Western Union or Ria, the first thing the bank will tell you is that Dollars are not available. Some banks will say they only have smaller denominations like $20 or $10. Why are the banks doing this? They want more dollar to meet an ever rising demand for it so they come with excuses to corner the one that enters their hands. |

Kasssandra: Well, I am not in APC or PDP , but both of them made the same mistake of keeping our economy hooked on oil and of not diversifying away from oil.
Buhari's policy is just PDP policy without high oil prices.
The thing is, we need a leader who would raise taxes, and remove subsides for power and petrol...so that we get more investment , and also get both sectors working and earning more...which can be used to fire up our economy. Buhari's policy is plain pro-northern Nigeria at the expense of everything else. The man is a nuclear disaster to the economy. If only Putin will deploy him against Ukraine and save us real life nuclear radiation. |

Lass lass, make we kuku face local production and our market to strengthen the Naira. My only concern is our useless leaders will still use all the forex left to go flex abroad. The difference is $20 dollars dude. At least mini buyers were still managing. Now it is nothing. This will push more people to hustle online for dollars than ever before. Kasssandra: Yeah, we are not earning enough dollars due to
1.Subsidy payments going up, due to higher oil prices, which means higher fuel prices...and more money being spent to keep it low...which eats into our budget
2.Falling oil production due to theft, robbery, and government doing nothing about security.
3.From 2014 till 7-8 months ago, oil prices were too low to sustain us. Now that they are high, we have to still pay off the debt we took on during the lean years...(and yes, we had to borrow, otherwise we would have ended up with salaries not being paid for 2 years .)...and even during those years, we were still paying up debts.
4.Lack of a diversified economy. We did not diversify our economy.
5.Poor tax uptake. Our tax to gdp raito is 8.1%....too low to get us enough revenue. 30% of the economically active populaiton pays income tax to the government at federal and state level. Tax leakages and corruption are a thing.
6.Corruption and stealing. Especially at contracts, subsidy level and so forth. And yes, APC hasn't changed a thing.
That's why we are in this mess.
If we removed subsidies on petrol and power, and raised our tax to gdp ratio, and really focused on fighting corruption....we might get somwhere.
Campaigning begins next week, let's see what the candidates have in the tank. I'm not optimisitic. backbencher, subsidywise. Lol. Buhari has mismanaged the micro economy. They can afford to grant trillions in tax waiver to few companies but not considered the small business man. |

How can search bar and menu bar be so tiny and in such tight space.... those with big finger will have a hard time selecting one of the elements....
Also.... once a user clicks the search button and and search option takes 100% of the screen... there's no option to exit the search incase they aren't interested in searching anymore.... as in, the op didn't add that functionality.
Now they must have to refresh the page.

GREATIGBOMAN: @ the header section.... just wondering why u added the search mirror and menu button in same small space.
Once someone clicks search the person will now be struggling with the menu and can't even exit the search bar once it's been clicked if they changed their mind.
The second section where it's a list of movies
The cards width are uneven.
Same style of carousel/slider in all the components.... I believe some components should have it while some don't have it.... some should be paginated
Assuming u have 500 films on a particular section.... u mean I will have to keep swiping and swiping instead of breaking it down to 10-20 per row and then I paginate the harde r you try the more you show you are not a developer. You are grossly incapable of reasoning like one. Anyone who has sat down to do a menu and search bar from scratch will quickly realize the wisdom in allowing the menu cover the search bar on smaller screen when active and vice versa. Can you access both at the same time? Yes but with space wastage and better never. It is either you close the search bar then navigate the menu or close the menu and access the search bar. As for 500 films on a section idea, that's for archive page. If you have ever looked at theme structure for popular content management systems, you will easily know that, but as expected of someone only adept at typing horseshit and ugly, you are clearly misyarning. |

Debt comes with interest. My personal proposal is that law should be made that state loan should be tied to average IGR because allocation isn't guaranteed and dependent on factors beyond the nation's control. Indebtness option isn't allowing states to looks inwards wholeheartedly. Some even use it against their successor by borrowing funds the repayment will stretch well into their successor's tenure. In normal loan scenario like for workers and bank looking to lend, loan amount is tied to expected income that's predictable and assured. No one gives loan to you because you have an uncle or aunty somewhere that may gift you money. They give loan by your salary level and your corresponding deductables from workplace. That should be applied to states. No responsible father/guarduan will give his child/benefactor licences to take huge loans against some form of pocket money that isn't guaranteed. |
