https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Nigerin-Army.jpg The Nigerian Army on Sunday said 12 herdsmen have been arrested in Benue State. The suspects were arrested by troops of 707 Special Forces Brigade presently taking part in the Exercise Cat Race called Ayem Akpatuma in the state. They were arrested for alleged involvement in the destruction of farmlands in Benue on March 17, 2018. Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu in a statement on Sunday said the suspects were arrested during the visit of the Presidential Assessment Team to Mbayer/Yandev and Kaambee wards in Benue State. Chukwu said the troops after arresting the suspects also recovered some items while they were handed over to the police. “On search of the general area, two motorcycles were recovered from the suspects. The 12 herdsmen were handed over to the Police for further action,” he said. The troops have since remained in the zone to continue maintenance of vigilance in the general area with patrols. Herdsmen Arrests The military intervention in Benue State has witnessed previous success with arrests made. The Nigerian Army had earlier in February said 10 herdsmen were arrested for destroying farmlands in some villages in Benue State. Troops participating in Exercise Cat Race arrested the herdsmen on February 26 while on routine patrol in Tse-Tigir and Tse-Ndugh villages. The herdsmen according to the army were caught while in the act of destroying the farmlands. They, however, fled into the bush when they sighted the troops which pursued and eventually arrested them The troops also recovered five motorcycles, two machetes, some assorted charms and the sum of N120,000 from the herdsmen. After their arrest, they were handed over to the Nigerian Police for further action. Military Intervention, Justice For Victims The military intervention in Benue came after several attacks by the herdsmen that have since sent many Benue residents to their early graves, most notably on New Year’s Day. During the inauguration of Operation Cat Race in February, the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Burutai warned the troops to engage any group of armed herdsmen terrorising local communities in Benue State or face a military court-martial. The army had earlier announced that the operation would run from February 15 to March 31 in Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Niger states. It is expected that these arrests would bring under control, to a large extent, the attacks by suspected herdsmen and other ancillary security challenges in that zone. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/18/exercise-cat-race-troops-arrest-12-herdsmen-in-benue/ cc lalasticlala |
https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Kogi-Herdsmen.jpg he Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked the UN Security Council and its members to declare herdsmen attacks across the country as acts of terrorism. In a statement signed by its Deputy Director, Timothy Adewale on Sunday, the group said it wrote the UN, urging them to: “Urgently hold a special session on Nigeria and to visit the country to press the authorities to end continuing killings and destruction of property by suspected herdsmen across Nigeria, particularly in the North-Central of the country.” In the letter dated March 16, 2018 SERAP expressed, “serious concern that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is failing to uphold its responsibility to protect the citizens”. According to the group, if not urgently combatted, such attacks may rise to the level of threat to international peace and security. It also highlighted that the first ‘purpose’ listed for the UN is to maintain international peace and security, therefore, they “must act now to protect Nigerians, including women and children, if the Council is not to be accused of failing the people of Nigeria.” “The Security Council and its members should adopt a resolution to: Characterise killings by herdsmen as terrorist acts and mobilize international support for Nigeria to combat these attacks, including for the authorities to adopt and implement measures to tackle the causes and consequences of these attacks and end all forms of terrorism in the country.” “The resolution should also call on the UN Secretary-General to carry out a joint visit to Nigeria with the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and the African Union Peace and Security Council to investigate allegations of killings by herdsmen and to better understand the root causes of these killings and put pressure on the Nigerian authorities to end them,” SERAP said. More Tears Their appeal follows similar calls by some prominent Nigerians asking the Federal Government to declare the killer herdsmen as terrorists. One of such was from Nobel Laurette, Professor Wole Soyinkia who decried the rate of killings across the country. Declare Herdsmen Terrorists, Soyinka Tells FG While delivering his keynote speech on Thursday, at the Ripples Nigeria Dialogue; an annual forum designed to broaden the conversation on issues troubling the nation, he said it is high time the Federal Government gives a stern warning against the carnage and utter destruction they inflict on the communities. “We’re speaking of governance, will, and responsibility, the readiness to respond with massive punitive action when the fundamental security of a people is violated. “We’re speaking of the courage to decree such monsters terrorists and enemies of humanity with the same dispatch as the declaration of fireless violent, far less destabilising movements, albeit disruptive, supernaturalism and sometimes nasty in their attestation and activities”. Also lending his voice to the issue, historian, Professor Banji Akintoye said during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today that the killer herdsmen appear to be more dangerous than Boko Haram terrorists and therefore, must be stopped before their activities get out of hand. “They are all over Nigeria, there is no state in the middle belt and the south that they have not killed people in so they are more dangerous than Boko Haram,” Akintoye stated. Since the beginning of the year, many families in states across the nation have been thrown into mourning because of the killings. States such as Rivers, Ekiti, Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue have been the most hit, with the latter, witnessing the highest number of deaths. IGP Flouted My Orders While insecurity has been a major issue since the start of the year, the Federal Government has promised to do all it can to ensure that the killings come to an end, and the perpetrators are punished. In an effort to curb the menace, President Buhari ordered the IGP to relocate to Benue state. Although he visited Benue after the President’s directive, the state government accused him of spending only one day in the state after which he proceeded to Nasarawa state. The development fueled another debate and series of criticisms when the President who visited the state on March 12 for the first time since the attacks on New Year’s Day, said he was just learning of the alleged noncompliance by the IGP. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/18/declare-herdsmen-terrorists-serap-urges-un-security-council/ cc lalasticlala |

https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/04_OkonjoIweala-1000x600.jpg Beneath the swagger and finesse of the former Coordinating Minister for the Economy/Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, lies the tough and unyielding soul of a combatant. It takes the tenacity and strength of such an unyielding soul, no doubt, to stare cancer’s perfect pain and misery in the eyes and conquer it in a terrifying battle between life and death. Yes, Okonjo-Iweala had cancer and she lived with it over certain dreary number of years. She made the shocking revelation not too long ago. Few women bear the crucible of pain and face down death in a no-holds-barred joust and live to tell their story. But Ngozi did and she emerged with her life intact. Very few people are aware she once took a trip down death boulevard while she battled life-threatening cancer. According to her, the fight against cancer was a struggle she would never forget. But with unprecedented faith and towering resilience, she survived the deadly disease. She has emerged wiser and stronger like a piece of gold whose value and quality increases by every second it spends in the intensity of a hot forge. President Buhari on Wednesday visited Dapchi school where 110 school girls were recently abducted by Boko Haram insurgents. The President on arrival at Dapchi walked on a Red carpet to the hall where he had a meeting with elders and parents of the missing school girls. Reacting, Shehu Sani condemned the use of Red carpet on a condolence visit by Buhari. According to him, a red carpet is for award shows and not such visits. Governor Samuel Ortom made the disclosure on Friday at the State executive meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi. He told the party’s officials that he had received a letter which indicated that the president will be visiting the state on Monday as part of his schedules to states across the federation that had suffered loss of lives in recent times. The governor also briefed his party members on the arrest and convictions of many suspects as it concerns current security situation in the state and his efforts in ensuring the implementation of the grazing law despite threats on his life from certain herder’s group. Ortom further disclosed that the state government had dragged Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore to court for their alleged persistent threat which they have executed and are still threatening, adding that, “we have enough evidence against them, we will not in any way fold our arms to watch foreigners in the name of herdsmen to come and claim the Benue valley” source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/09/buhari-to-visit-benue-on-monday/ cc lalasticlala |

https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Prince-Uche-Secondus-696x522.jpg Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says Nigerian will have a woman as president “one day”. The PDP chairman said on Thursday that men in leadership positions have failed “over the years”. He urged women in the country to vie for political offices to better political participation. Secondus gave the advice in Abuja at an event organised by the office of the woman leader of the PDP as part of the activities marking the International Women’s Day. He said women in the country had been quiet for too long, blaming the failure of men on the inaction of women. According to him, unless women play an active role in governance, the country would not make the desired progress. “I see a country where women participate in the highest level of politics, since we have failed as men have over the years. One day, we shall have a woman president,” he said. “I apologise to women on behalf of men who had been saddled with state responsibility over the years and failed to deliver on their mandates. “The struggle for the emancipation of women must continue. We urge women to take advantage of the party’s constitution provision that makes interest form for any elective office free for women. “Women should be courageous enough to contest for any elective office ranging from counsellorship to presidency.” The chairman charged women to ensure that only the ‘people’s government’ get into power in the 2019 general election. He further encouraged women not to be intimidated but to come out en masse to vote and stand firm to defend their votes. Secondus said the outcome of the 2019 general election is largely dependent on the role of women. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/09/one-day-nigeria-shall-have-a-female-president-uche-secondus/ cc lalasticlala |
https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pjimage-4-696x696.jpg Let’s talk about Nigerian celebrities and their houses! Do you want to find out all the chic mansions owned by some of the most famous super stars? Only the best photos! You will be surprised! Everyone who has achieved a certain success in life tries to buy real estate. As for celebrities, the place of residence is also an indicator of their status. They say, my house is my castle. The show business stars are divided into two categories. There are those who prefer not to advertise their homes. They buy a modest house far away from prying eyes or prefer to rent housing and not stay for a long time in one place. Then there are the ones who want to build or buy something super expensive and grandiose to impress the world and make themselves more interesting. Such celebrities, typically, equip houses with the best and the fanciest designs. They buy expensive furniture and interior items. A large area and swimming pool are also attached to the list. Nigerian celebrities certainly enjoy showing off. Of course, we cannot take into account all the stars, but we’ll try to consider some of the most famous ones and their houses. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Wizkid-mansion-on-the-hills-of-Los-Angeles.jpeg Wizkid house In 2016, the highly successful musician acquired a mansion on the hills of Los Angeles, in the United States. As you can see in the photos, it’s a real “palace” in a colonial style. The building of the house is quite large. It has three floors. The house is painted in sandy colour and blends in with the surrounding landscape. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Wizkid-house-in-the-USA.png A gorgeous staircase made of white marble leads to the front entrance. It’s made in the classical style. The building has large panoramic windows, several balconies, and graceful terraces with columns. The surrounding of the house is decorated with arches and wrought-iron fences on balconies and terraces. A unique charm to the palace is shown by lanterns fixed on the walls of the house. It gives the place a vintage look. Around the house, there are a lot of green spaces. In front of the mansion, a large courtyard can be found. It’s laid out with terracotta tiles and has a decent-sized swimming pool. At the pool, there are many places to get some or host friendly gatherings. Obviously the musician and his friends spend a lot of time here. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Nigerian-celebrities-and-their-houses-Wizkid-mansion-696x428.jpg A beautiful view of nature opens up from the house and courtyard. The house interior is also made in the classical style. The decoration of the mansion is simple without any excess. Only calm and neutral colors can be found there. The amount paid by the singer for his palace is not known to the public. But real estate in this area costs approximately 10 – 15 million dollars. We bet Wizkid is loving this fancy crib. It’s said that the musician has a house in Lekki, Nigeria. But whether it’s the singer’s property or he just rents the house, it’s not very clear. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Davido-house.jpg Davido mansion Davido as a famous and very popular singer in Nigeria has a house in Lekki. For some time the musician aroused the public’s interest with photos taken from the construction site. He assured fans that it was the building of his new house. Recently, he announced his move to his new mansion. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Davido-new-house-696x316.jpg On the Internet, there are photos and videos of that building. It resembles Davido’s old house but beautifully renovated. The house is quite massive. It has three floors. Its design is simple without any special frills and fanciful elements. There are several balconies and a terrace there. The house interior is definitely fit for a bachelor. The colours of decoration are calm, basic, and soft. The predominant colours are ivory, light beige, gray, and brown. The rooms are huge and bright. There is not a lot of furniture. We certainly see that he has a billiard room, a dressing room, a bathroom and bedrooms. There is a shelf that houses the singer’s musical awards. The musician’s closet is also large. This celebrity obviously has a lot of shoes and clothes. The courtyard near the house is small and cozy. It is closed from prying eyes by an impressively large fence. There is a small lawn and a beautiful fountain that brightens up the place. There is enough space for several cars. According to reports, the musician spent about 40 million Naira on the house. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a new house or an old one, but the renovation is excellent, modern, and tasteful. The important thing is that Davido feels good here. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Olamide-mansion-in-Lekki.jpg Olamide house This rapper, unlike his colleagues in Nigeria does not advertise his real estate very much. On the Internet, there are some photos of his house taken from afar. It’s hard to consider in detail the place where the musician lives. It’s known that Olamide’s house is near Lekki. As you can see, Nigerian celebrities love this area! The value of his mansion is about 38 million Naira. They say besides the above house, Olamide has two more mansions. The house in Lekki is big and has large windows. The yard is also quite spacious. Outside, the mansion looks like the surrounding buildings, but according to reports, the musician invested a lot of money in decoration and repairs. He used the services of professional designers. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Olamide-with-his-son-in-the-house-696x392.jpg The impression of the mansion’s interior can only be concluded from the individual videos posted on the Internet. In his house, Olamide spends time with his son or friends. For decoration, we can notice pastel colors: beige, ivory, and peach. Some walls have a brick finish. The furniture is expensive and of high quality. Various tones of brown and gray are predominant here. There is a lot of expensive leather furniture. By style and quality of interior design, we can determine that the house owner is a successful, wealthy, and confident man. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Linda-Ikeji-mansion.jpg Linda Ikeji mansion She is a blogger who considers herself self-made. Linda is a vivid example that a person can achieve much with hard work and perseverance. Not so long ago, Linda acquired a chic house on Banana Island with a value of 500 – 600 million Naira. The kitchen is painted with brown and black colors. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Linda-Ikeji-swimming-pool-696x696.jpg On the video and photos on the net, you can see not only the charm of the house but also the impeccability of Linda’s taste when choosing furniture and other interior items. The house decoration is made in pastel colors but with bright colour accents, for example, blue, red or fuchsia. There are paintings, cushions and even some pieces of unique furniture. In addition to the classics, there are some ethnic elements in the decor. Linda Ikeji has furnished her mansion using expensive furniture. At the house, there is a small courtyard and of course a swimming pool which certainly speaks of her luxurious life. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Genevieve-Nnaji-house.jpg Genevieve Nnaji real estate She is a very popular and successful Nigerian actress. Genevieve earns big money in Nollywood. They say that the actress owns three large mansions. Two of them are in Nigeria: in Ikoyi and Lekki (for herparents). They are designed in the classical style. These kinds of real estates require significant expenses for their maintenance. It’s rumored that the house in Accra was presented to the actress by a Ghanaian billionaire. Other gossip report say that the above house is only rented by Genevieve. Whatever the truth is, the mansion’s security is taken very seriously. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/P-square-house-on-Banana-Island.jpg P-square’s “palace” Of course, if we talk about the houses of Nigerian celebrities, we cannot leave two super-successful brothers Peter and Paul Okoye out. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/5dd3eb1644ab96b847e6574a0405bf02.jpg Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Taraba and planned visit to Benue, Zamfara, Yobe and Rivers states as an afterthought. According to him, the President is more concerned about his reelection in 2019 and his visit to those states is to seek votes and not to sympathise with the people on their loses. Fayose, in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said it was the height of cruelty that the same President, who promised to lead from the front in the fight against Boko Haram, could not visit Dapchi, Yobe State where 110 school girls were abducted by the insurgents but went on merrymaking in Kano. “On January 9 and 12, this year, 88 victims of herdsmen attacks were given mass burial in Taraba State. Also on January 11, 2018, another 73 persons killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Benue State were buried in a mass grave in Makurdi, the state capital. “Meaning that in Taraba and Benue States alone, 161 Nigerians were given mass burial within three days! This never caught the attention of our President. Rather, it was a visit to Nasarawa, a neighboring State to Benue that was important to him. “To further demonstrate his lack of compassion for Nigerians, while the entire nation, especially parents of the 110 abducted school girls in Dapchi, Yobe State are still in anguish, President Buhari went to Kano last Saturday to attend a social function, thus sparking negative reactions from Nigerians. “Apparently, it was the negative reactions of Nigerians, especially on Social Media and the effects on the President’s reelection bid that necessitated his hurried visit to Taraba State today, and planned visits to Benue, Zamfara, Yobe and Rivers States. “I am sure the people of Taraba State won’t be hoodwinked by the President’s cosmetic sympathy, show of concern and crocodile tears, which he never bordered to shed when hundreds of indigenes of the State were being killed by suspected herdsmen,” the governor said.” source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/05/buharis-visit-taraba-benue-afterthought-says-fayose/ cc lalasticlala |
https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Olubadan.jpg The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has said that the statement credited to him where he said that he would have loved Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State to go for another term if the constitution permitted it was a joke he cracked with the governor during a public function. The monarch, in a statement signed by his Personal Assistant and Director, Media and Public Affairs, Adeola Oloko, revisited the statement on Sunday when Ibadan indigenes paid him a visit as part of the 2018 Ibadan Week. The statement said, “The Ajimobi third term statement credited to the monarch in the media was largely misunderstood because people could not read between the lines. He, however, appealed to all his children who are aggrieved over the statement not to take the matter to heart and read more about the use of language, idioms and sarcasm. “As a monarch, I have no power over the election and re-election of anybody; let alone tenure extension that is unconstitutional. Besides, when I was exchanging banters with the governor, I was only cracking a joke with him as a son and my subject. Even, if Ajimobi offended us, it would be indecorous on my part to address him harshly. Besides, there is a subsisting judgment over the controversial chieftaincy review which awaits compliance. About four or five suits relating to the matter are still in court and have not been withdrawn.” The statement added that the Olubadan had also denied ever receiving any gratification from Ajimobi or his proxies for cracking the third-term joke as being insinuated in some quarters, stressing that anyone with proof or evidence of such gratification from the governor should feel free to produce it. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/05/olubadan-denies-endorsing-ajimobi-third-term/ cc lalasticlala |

The wedding fatiha took place at Kano Central Mosque under the leadership of His Highness the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II. The wedding could be termed a political wedding considering both the parents are serving Governors in this administration, so also having President Buhari as Waly to the Groom Idris Ajimobi and Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu the leader of APC serving as Waly to the Bride Fatima Ganduje. What was more impressing about the wedding is the moderate bride prize of N50,000 that President Buhari pay on behalf of groom to Bola Tinubu the representative of Fatima Ganduje, considering their status. About 22 Governor, Senators, Ministers, top government functionaries, Politicians and well wishers grace the occasion. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/kas1.jpg Popular Nigerian musician, Kas, quit the music industry in the latter part of 2017 to become a pastor. This shocked so many of his fans, but the Fimile crooner has come out to explain why decided to become a man of God. The singer however described himself as a prostitute while explaining how he transited from the music making craft to the altar. “Yes, I’m receiving the anointing from the Holy Spirit, real talk, it’s no joke. I don’t know when people will believe I’m saying the truth. The thing is when you have been called people find it hard to believe. I’m an ashawo musician, I’m not an afro-beat artiste; I always say it that I’m an ashawo musician”, he said. Kas then mentioned that abandoning music to become a pastor was as a result of a covenant he made with God during childhood. “When I was 7-years old I made a covenant with God that if He can make me a popular musician, in return I will serve Him. God did his part and I became a popular musician but in return I was running. Six pastors at six different times told me that I’m supposed to be a pastor. After a while my mom told me that if God really called me He would reveal Himself to me in a dream. It was like a joke but God later revealed Himself to me and I saw everything from the beginning of the ministry to what it would end up being”, he said. Speaking on if he would maintain the kind of lifestyle he led before becoming a minister of God, he shocked Showtime with his response. “There is a chapter in the Bible where Jesus went to Mathew, the tax collector’s house. And going to his house is like going to a strip club. People criticized Jesus for going to a place like Mathew’s house because it was a place of sin. But Jesus told them he came to the world to die for sinners and not the saints, a reason went there. If Pastor Adeboye goes to a bar or a club today, I guarantee you that more than 20-people would follow him, wanting to give their lives to God. As a pastor, preaching all the time in your church is not the real calling. A church is a group of people not the physical building. I dare Pastors Adeboye, Ashimolowo, Okotie, Oyakhilome, and others to go to bars or clubs and preach, the people will give their lives to Christ even more than when you just tell them to come to church and give tithes else you will die. It’s a lie, if you don’t pay your tithe you won’t die”, he concluded. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/03/kas-finally-reveals-abandoned-music-become-pastor/ cc lalasticlala

Reports have it that the woman was delivered of the baby via an emergency caesarian section in a private hospital, but died from the injuries she sustained during the attack. According to PUNCH Metro, the woman, who had luggage containing some goods, boarded the suspects’ car, travelling from Cotonou, Benin Republic, inward Lagos on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.with the number plate, KTU 356 CE. She thought it was a cab until the men brought out weapons and demanded her valuables. She raised an alarm drawing attention and while motorists pursued the vehicle, she was reportedly injured fro not keeping quiet. The robber were nabbed at AP Filling Station before Aradagun bus stop, by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps who were said to be on a routine patrol. The FRSC Badagry Unit Commander, Fatai Bakare, said the officials rescued the victim and took her to a hospital. He said, “We blocked the vehicle and found them struggling with the woman to keep shut. They had planned to drop her off on the expressway as they were speeding, but the pressure mounted by those chasing them from behind did not allow them to do that. “We discovered that the woman was injured and took her to Ola-Oki Hospital at Ibereko. It was the closest to the scene of the incident and within 20 minutes, she was delivered of a baby. She had to be operated upon because she was in pains. “However, before we returned, the mob had caught up with the robbers and got tyres with which they set them ablaze. Some soldiers put out the fire and rescued them. They were handed over to the police.” He noted that around 3pm, it was learmt that the woman was dead, and her remains were deposited in the Badagry General Hospital morgue. Bakare said although the baby was in good condition, there was nothing to identify the woman, adding that nobody had come for her. It was also gathered that the suspects, identified as Awusu Oluwasegun (47) and Gabriel Adeosun (53), sustained serious burns from the attempted lynching and had a slim chance of survival. The police spokesman, Chike Oti, a Superintendent, said it was not a case of kidnapping, adding that the woman fell victim to one-chance robbers. He said, “The woman had some bags of rice and boarded the cab to convey her to her location. But along the line, the suspects wanted to rob her. “She raised the alarm and the robbers, afraid that they might run into trouble with security operatives, pushed her off the cab. “Unknown to them, people heard the woman’s screams and saw when she fell from the cab. They pursued the vehicle, caught up with the robbers and attacked them. “The woman was picked up and rushed to the hospital by FRSC officials and she was delivered of her baby through surgery. “Soldiers intervened and stopped the mob from killing the suspects. The soldiers contacted the police and handed over the suspects to them. They are currently in an undisclosed hospital.” SOURCE https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/02/26/pregnant-woman-gave-birth-rescued-robbers-yesterday-dies/ |

Mr Noel Ify Alomona is the CEO of Hope For Africa Children Initiative (HACI) an NGO that send children to school on scholarship. wrote a touching tribute to the 7 seminarians who died in a fatal accident two years ago in Enugu state. Read his touching tribute below. Two Years in Mind – Brief and Painless! I have been writing, but I couldn’t write anything on this subject since February 1st. So, the whole of today was not so wonderful for me. I tried to nibble some words on the paper but couldn’t. I thought it was my usual block; I went to bed, got up and tried again. But yet, the right words were not forthcoming. I just sat on my reading table at the study, my left hand supporting my jaw, with my eyes fixed steadily on the paper. At a point, I lost touch with the environment. I was lost in deep thought and before I knew what was up, I had soaked myself in tears. Everything came alive at this point. I practically could visualize the moments preceding the accident of that black Monday. I remembered Michael’s and Emeka’s positions in the pew during Vespers, the night before. They were very unusual. I remember asking Michael if all was alright that night. I remembered how Agbo practically carried me upstairs on his back, after supper (same Sunday night). Joachim and Adah were so cool that night. And Dozie kept calling me “Ify B” while he went about doing his functions in the morning. Those were my personal experiences with these Heroes on the 21st February. Though still fresh in my memory, but I don’t wish to recount the accident that claimed the lives of my Six Heroes. We come to terms with losses, but some of them we never get over. Their absence is one of those. And then, in the midst of my grief today, I was faced with the daunting task of crafting a farewell note for these extraordinary friends of mine, who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. They were the best of talents, great scholars and promising stars. As if they were handpicked, Emeka, Dozie, Mike, Adah, Agbo and Joachim were irreplaceable friends, and were all intellectual tour de force, whose loss leaves an enormous hole in the house and in the community. Mike was a gentle soul – someone with all the time in the world for you, no matter who you are. He belonged to everyone and was very generous to a fault! Emeka, an all-rounder, was a jovial and multi-talented fellow. He was good at all the games you could think of. Dozie, the cool and very intelligent one (he taught me Latin and I had a Summa), compassionate and a good singer. Agbo Emmanuel, a brother, a close friend, a confidant, one of the best people I have ever known in life. Agbo’s generosity marveled me sometimes. Joachim, calm and collected – will always be remembered for his balance and poise, and his great curiosity – an intelligent leader. A finer fellow a person could not stop wanting to meet. Adah Emmanuel was a true definition of humanity. There was never a dull moment when Adah was around. I remember how he made the house lively with his thrilling jokes. In my life I am yet to meet a person greater than Adah – a selfless gentleman who cherished all people around him. It was easy to look up to Adah, he was a perfect human being. I have been in deep thought through out today, and now I know that our life is an unavoidable journey towards death. Death is an inescapable reality, and for we who profess Christ, it is a necessity. It is a blow which visits every man once in a lifetime; an experience which all living beings must taste equally – rich and poor, great and small alike. No wonder it is called the great leveler. And on its universality, the psalmist probes “What man shall live and not see death?” It’s Two Years already! Your demise shook the whole world. Your deaths were brutish but painless! Rest on brothers! I know you’re all in heaven. We may have parted now, but we will all meet to part no more. You will forever live in Our Hearts. Hasta la Vista Tchau Adieu Mon Frere Arrivederci source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/02/23/noel-ify-alumona-remembers-7-seminarians-died-auto-crash-2yrs-ago/ cc lalasticlala
