Congratulations!!! See you soon in Regina. NorthernshoreTS: |
I don't know if you have sorted this out yet... When filling out the questionnaire on what application you want to submit, you were meant to answer yes to the question "are you applying for anyone else?" (Might not be same words) when you answer yes, you are prompted to answer more questions which will determine what forms are added to your application jogojogo: |
Thank you!!! As for the "Barry Allen" part...the praise goes to God! buchito1: |
Thank you First generate an invitation code with this link https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal Then proceed to apply with https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en Kam3: |
Thank you!!! No I don't. Coincidentally, I just checked the portal out of curiosity and saw that the visitor visa application has been withdrawn today. Gift212: |
Join me in celebrating God's faithfulness because what he cannot do indeed does not exist!!! SOWP and study visa applications approved same day!!! My husband's SOWP and my 11year old son study permit got approved after the 3rd attempt. First attempt 2016 we all applied as a family and were all bounced on purpose of visit and home ties. After I got my study permit approved in June 2021 we reapplied on 11 July 2021 - visitors visa for hubby and study permit for kids Refused 29th September Reapplied October 29 before the GCMS notes came because it was delayed. Medical for my husband November 15 ( my son had done his medicals earlier) Medical passed November 22 GCMS notes finally came in late November- December 2021 (applied for hubby and the kids and they all came at different dates, one even came in the middle of December) GCMS notes showed the VO was concerned about the cost implications of running 2 homes and home ties. Luckily all those concerns had been adequately tackled in the SOP during reapplication. In the course of waiting a friend who had also applied for study permit for her kids decided to try out the new IRCC portal and got her kids visitor visa approved in 7days so we decided to give it a try too. Visitor visa application was done on the 19th of December 2021...then another round of waiting commenced. Eligibility 20/01/2022 (noticed my son's medical was passed on that date) PPRs January 21, 2022!!! Documents submitted All relevant IMM forms Bank statements Title Documents of properties Investment certificates Pension Documents Letter of employment and promotions Letter of introduction from employer Payslips Receipt of my school fees My study permit and my kids visitors records Int'l passports SOP Letter of introduction from me. We wrote to CIC twice and filled out webform once last week and most of the messages were not even delivered. Letter to MP has also not been acknowledged This can only be God! @lianna2020 @ bukky @frankrobbn thanks for being amazing! |

This information is not correct. I travelled with two of my kids who are US citizens and whose application had coincidentally just been refused at the time. They were given a visitors record at the POE after the officer asked me if they would be staying throughout my study duration. The visitor record allows them study in Canada and is valid for the same duration as my study permit. Predator188: |
US Citizens do not require a visa to enter Canada and from my experience including them in your application to boost your chances of approval doesn't yield a positive result. I'd advice you leave them out of the application (you could mention them in your SOP if you wish) ninab: |
Congratulations!!! What an amazing way to end 2021 Iffylove: |
Thank God for journey mercies and for granting youfavour at the POE. May you continue to enjoy a ceaseless flow of God's blessings hoodboy: |
Amen!!! I pray so too... gracedson: |
Here you go...sorry to coming bearing bad news but it is official
|
So sorry for the stress. Calm down I know it would all be sorted. Did you pay transmission fee for your son? I heard @akannitommy mention sometime back that he was asked to pay for his minor kid, you could contact him to gain more insight. Also try calling the VFS office or better still request that the DHL office check the reasons as stated on the envelope. All the best. Jojorito007: |
You are correct on children below 5years not requiring testing. I'd suggest that you print out that document and even highlight the portion that mentions it for our overzealous brothers and sisters at the airport. @viviangogos, @slye185 and @jojorito007 I wish you a safe trip when you travel and unprecedented favor everywhere you go. May God go before you and cause every crooked path to be made plain. Amen. viviangogos: |
The challenge I faced was because one of the ladies at the check in desk kept turning the passport upside down as if somehow she'd detect it's genuineness by doing so (lol)I had to show the birth certificate to put her mind at ease ![]() Yes you also need a letter of authorisation from your spouse (if travellingalone with the kids) as well as the copy of his passport data page(this was actually required at the POE just before our permits were issued) Don't forget to include your child's details on your ARRIVECAN submission and your COVIDtest results. slye185: |
ETA is not required for US citizens. Just your child's international passport would suffice and maybe a copy of his/her birth certificate just in case the guys in Lagos start acting funny. slye185: |
Congratulations!!! You are correct. This write up reawakens our hope that when God says it's a YES no matter the delays, it is a YES!!! I pray Canada favours you. Your expectations shall not be cut short! ManLikeMace: |
Congratulations!!! Na this kain expedited processing I key into in Jesus name. Amen! Freebands01: |
You can cancel the application (that is if you are doing the application yourself) I did something similar, applied for my 2 kids who are US citizens with my other Nigerian kid.(I assumed seeing seeing the US passport would help expedite the process) All applications were refused on grounds of purpose of visit and home ties. I am currently in Canada with the US citizens while awaiting the approval of my other kid. They only presented their US passport. However, you could still go ahead with your convictions afterall one fact we always repeat here is no two applications are ever exactly the same. Wishing you accelerated speed and favour in your processing. Amen. dammy135: |
You don't need to apply for her. She is allowed to enter Canada with just her US passport, even ETA is not required. dammy135: |
Sorry I need to you to a little clearer if I am wrong I am assuming your child is a US citizen and as such would not be needing a visa. In that case, a visitor record is what was issued at the POE. It's duration is same as my study permit and comes in a similar document type.

|
Amen!!! Thank you. I pray for God's favour over you and your family too. Whatever stage your application is at, may you enjoy unprecedented favor!!! Amen. viviangogos: |
1) Yea, I resumed classes already, I started in fall. He requested to see my admission letter( my enrollment letter wasn't requested) 2) I was asked to go sit down for a while so I can't tell if he went anywhere with the documents. They were all handed back to me with my study permit and visitor records. (Birth certificates were black and white copies BTW) mercy445: |
Glad to know youfound some helpful information in the pile of "rubbish" wishing you unprecedented favor in your processing and of course looking forward to seeing you here next year. Chuksiesmom: |
They are 9 and 7 years old respectively. Chuksiesmom: |
I'd be looking forward to that. Cheers! Winnn: |
Landing gist 1 Travelled on Wednesday 20th October, 2021 to Regina via Lufthansa airline Flight was slated for 10:55pm. Arrived airport at 6:30pm in time for check in. My family was let in without any fuss ( they probably assumed we were all travelling together) We were told the scanning machine at the entrance wasn't working so they had to check the bag manually. I dropped small change (please don't judge me. I will repent it took days to pack the bags and I couldn't imagine having to rearrange it) Got to the queue and the lady to check our documents was confused on how I was travelling with my 2 kids as they don't have a visa. I tried explaining to her that US citizens do not require one. She was being unreasonable but luckily her supervisor came and sorted things out. Took their passports and copies of birth certificates as well as the ArriveCAN receipt which included their details to go make some "confirmations" He came back and gave the all clear. Covid result was checked. I printed out the Lagos State results but was told the acceptable one is the one issued by the lab. I had downloaded the soft copies of that and the officer was gracious enough to scan it from my phone.I cellowrapped our bags at 1k each. We got our boarding passes and I hung out with my family for a while before proceeding to immigration clearance and all. Flight was on time. (I don't know who told Lufthansa I am a vegetarian ) They served vegetarian pasta. It was quite tasty and my kids who are picky eaters enjoyed it. The flight wasn't fully booked. We were in the middle aisle that seats 4 but luckily no one was assigned the 4th seat. We arrived Frankfurt and went through immigration. Not much activity here other than waiting for 6hours plus for our connecting flight. Visited McDonald's with my little humans. My Naira Mastercard from Gtbank didn't disappoint. Flight to Toronto was next. Pleasant (we got a window seat yay!!!) Arrived at Toronto and attempted to do the self scanning and filling before proceeding to the officer at the qiosk but I kept getting an error message (the camera refused to snap my black face) I proceeded to the officer in the kiosk. He was very polite, ( everyone who attended to us from flight attendants, immigration officers etc were very polite and helpful)I was directed to another room where we stayed on an incredibly long queue. When it got to our turn, the officer collected my passport and those of my kids, asked for my admission letter and also asked if I had my spouse's consent to have the kids stay with me for the entire duration of my studies. I answered in the affirmative and showed him a consent letter my husband had written plus copies of their birth certificates and his passport data page. We were asked to seat and shortly after called forward to pick up my permit and visitor records for my kids. He said the visitor's record makes it possible for them to attend school. Next I had to pass the maze for those who have items to declare (foodstuff) I told them my bags would be going directly to Regina (that was what I was told in Lagos) the yellow sheet was collected from me. When I got to the baggage claim area it was confirmed the bags had been checked in directly. We proceeded to the gate for our connecting flight to Regina via Air Canada. The flight was on time. The plane was the smallest I have ever been on (so narrow) with two seats on each side hand, hand luggage couldn't fit into overhead locker so I put it underneath the chairs in front. Flight wasn't full and the seat beside me was empty so we got 2 window seats. Arrived Regina safely at 10:04pm Regina Time which is 5:04am Naija time and since our flight was so late our bags were part of the last in the baggage claim area. The cello wrap I put on them were still intact and no one bothered me. Got a trolley (at no cost) to push them. My friend picked us up from the airport. It was cold!!! To be continued... I pray for all those who are hopeful...your expectations will not be cut short I Jesus name. AMEN!!! A big thank you to my amazing ladies @lianna2020 abi na @ lianna2020 and @EverGrateful. These ladies can ginger for Africa. God bless you immensely!!! |
A little background story/update My study visa got approved in June. I resumed classes for fall in August. Since classes were being held virtually, I decided to stay back and apply for visas for my family here. My husband applied for a visitors visa. He wrote a very compelling SOP mentioning how he was only going to be visiting his family in Canada as he wasn't ready to quit his job yet. We thought the VO would be impressed. We applied for study visas for our 3 kids aged 11,9 and 7. Two of these kids hold a US passport but we thought including their application with the Nigerian kid would impress VO Application was submitted on 11th July. On 28th September, application was refused on the grounds of purpose of visit and home ties. I have ordered GCMS notes and I am travelling before the end of the month with my two US citizen kids. As soon as I land and get my permit and SIN, SOWP straight for my husband and student visa for my other child who would be left here! |
Tinakem:Yes I am |
viviangogos:Thank you so much for your response |
