Argentina are only good at putting their hands in the air when you point guns at them. That is what I can remember from the Falklands war anyway grin grin grin

The game of the day had to be Italy v. USA. It has just ended 1:1 and was a real battle. The Italians had a player sent off and the USA had two players sent off.

It was a great match and probably the most exciting of the tournament so far!

Covering hair or not is is all about religion, there's a difference between having a relationship with your God and religion, for me it doesn't matter whether you cover your hair or you don't even have a head! its whats on the inside that counts, I mean how many people observe the Sabbath, isn't that in the bible? Know your God and hold on tight! wink
You are absolutely right. There are an incredible amount of backward people who follow silly rules and take offense at the pettiest of issues instead of worshiping God. Open your heart to God and forget the book of fairy tales we call the Bible. That was written by man and has been manipulated and re-written thosands of times over the years.

What irritates me most are the people that spend there whole time looking for pasages which they can use against people. These are the real evil. Live and let live!

wear your hair how you like and yes it is perfectly normal for women to wear trousers, drive a car and have sex before marriage.

If you are a sin monger, take a break and get a life!

Christianity EtcRe: What's A Soul? Do Animals Have Souls? by Reverend(m): 5:07pm On Jun 17, 2006
I think that anybody who thinks that only humans can have souls is pretty arrogant.

The main reason we believe in souls is because the alternative is pretty depressing!

Is this life all there is? Is it true that when we die, that's it - no more us? Or do we live on after death, continuing to experience things in new realms?

Do we have some sort of immaterial "soul" which is actually the origin of our minds and consciousness now? Does this "soul" continue on after our deaths, migrating to some sort of heaven or higher dimension?

OR ARE WE EATEN BY THE WORMS AND THAT IS OUR LOT?

I think the worms may hold the key! undecided undecided

Wow!!! I am surprised at the very few number of Christians who came up to support the creation story.
That is because even the most staunch Christian realizes that the story of the creation is absolute nonsense and a fairy tale cool

Brazil were disapointing. That is the danger of giving any one team too much hype.

Croatia were a far better team!

England always starts slowly in the World Cup and we secured our three points which is the main thing :-)

No African nation has yet won a game. I am now watching Togo playing Korea and I still beleive that this record will remain unchanged in 65  minutes time!

EDIT 1: OK. Togo have Just scored. It was a nice goal,  Lets see :-)

EDIT 2: Ok. Korea are now winning 2:1

Beliieve his prophet so shall ye prosper
It should read "Believe his prophet so that his prophet shall prosper"

The Bible may say obey the Lord. The Bible does not say give your money to a false prophet so that him and his wife become rich, fat cats at the expenses of the poor.

We've been through your own version of nonsense many times before - and it still does not work. Find another nonsense besides the Little Red Riding Hood to placate your kinky church: they'll applaud that more than the Bible or the Qur'an that have continued to perplex you.
Yes, you are absolutely right, we have been through this nonsense before, I mean the Bible and the Qur'an of course.

Maybe you missed the fact that I did find another nonsense other than Little Red Riding Hood!

The Bible and the Qur'an

Maybe you should also. I would recommend that you first try the Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian Anderson to start. The stories are far better and Just as believable than any you may find in the Bible or the Qur'an  grin grin

Use AVG Free in combination with Free Zone Alarm and you PC is covered as much as it can be!
Scan your PC occasionally with Adware and you are set.

The AVG free edition automatically checks the internet for updates and Zone Alarm is a good firewall.

Both Mcafee and Norton slow down your PC and are not worth the money (unless you are naughty and have have downloaded the torrent from the net)
Christianity EtcWhich World Cup Team Does God Support? by Reverend(op): 7:42am On Jun 11, 2006
I personally believe that God wants England to win the World cup. Maybe that is because I am English.

When Argentina won the World cup in 1986, Maradona scored a goal with his hand,  It later came to be known as the hand of God!

England has allot of problems with Wayne Rooney and his broken foot. It seems that he will get to play. If Rooney gets England through to the final and scores the winning goal, will this be known as the foot of God?

Who do you think God supportshuh
Christianity EtcRe: Ladies' Hair In Church by Reverend(m): 7:35am On Jun 11, 2006
Considering that the Bible is a book of fables, folklore and fairy stories I do not beleive this to be an issue.

What are you going to say next, that women can not go to church when they are menstruating?

huh huh huh
Christianity EtcRe: Islamism - The New Global Threat by Reverend(m): 7:16am On Jun 11, 2006
The Qur'an endorsed the Gospels - and these Gospels referred to God as "Father" and to Jesus the Messiah as "the Son of God." You may disagree strongly because of your love for the Qur'an, but that is simply ignoring the facts of what the Bible has always taught and which the Qur'an conveniently hides from Muslims.
What facts are we talking about?

Considering that both the Qur'an and the Bible are nothing more than collections of fables, folklore and fairy stories, does it really matter who hides what from each other and what bits are changed around?

Both the stories in the Qur'an and the Bible have been re-written thosands of times over the years by thousands of different people with their own agendas! None of them bear any relation to facts.

If I told you the story of Little Red Riding Hood but changed the end so that instead of the woodcutter killing the wolf, it instead ate little Red Riding Hood! It is still a good story and good to listen to  cheesy cheesy cheesy

What amuses me the most is that both Muslims and Christians alike can surely see that both books are utter nonsense and filled from beginning to end with thousands of contradictions and irregularities, but they spend their time trying to explain away the flaws, wriggling and writhing their way through this nonsense, trying to give it a meaning!

Oh well, maybe you should all give it a rest for the World Cup cheesy cheesy cheesy

is anyone else as creeped out about this as i am
because this is pretty crazy
I think the craziest thing is that since the beginning of time men have been creating fictitious figures like Satan to frighten us into being good. It is total mind control!

If you are in the US, you will have surely heard of the bogey man! This is a story that was made up to frighten children into being good!

Satan is no different. The whole Satan story was made up to frighten us into being good and also to give the church a fictive figure to blame when they phuck up !

So, calm down and have a beer. That is what I am going to do,  and watch the second half of the Germany - Costa Rica game on the TV  grin

GO AFRICA,

I really admire you optimism and faith grin grin grin grin I also admire that seeing that you are not in a position to shout 'Go Nigeria' you have chosen the next best thing and choose the shout 'Go Africa'

I have never supported a continent, and every four years since I can remember I have shouted with pride 'Go England' and never 'Go Europe'

I hope we are all going to meet at the end of the World Cup to discuss our predictions and whether they materialized or not!

If you are posting here to funnel abuse at certain contributors of this thread then I would suggest you stop.

It seems everybody has a different argument or theory of why Satan was banished to Earth. But nobody can really explain what he did that was so bad!
