Yewwygraceful: Hey Revlane congratulations, i remember you shared a while back that after you ordered GCMS notes, you realized that there was review required for POF. Thank God for you by the way did you do anything about it, i.e, attach a Letter of explanation or something? No, I didn't send anything. I knew it was a risk but I believed God didn't bring me this far to have me rejected. So I just got PPR by His grace |

Been a while, i am reporting live from Canada(Winnipeg) Landed on the 9th Of October. The Journey was Smooth we Bless God this Journey started here on this Platform i greet everyone of you here both Elders and Newbies.
we used Egypt air(Travel Start) Family of 4 from Abuja Nigeria to Canada. Egypt air was cool not as bad as people made it look, stopped at Cairo then boarded Toronto Canada.
we carried 5 strong Ghana must go backs and one Bus making it six luggage's it is not supposed to exceed 23kgs so na to weight the thing wella. if you are carrying food items ensure that are well preserved ie properly dried and grinded into powder and stored in Ziploc.
Abeg if una never book use Abuja to move out ooo, no stress from anybody there but ensure you get to the airport 2 hours before Boarding so everything can be sorted out on time, but for us those Nigerian immigration guys be one tell me say my luggage plenty so i had to educate them that every passenger is entitled to 2 luggages and 1 hand bag and we were a family of 4 all this na to drop something sha.
our Luggage was not searched so just package your self nothing dey happen. so the journey to Cairo no wahala but the A/C for the plane na die, so wear better jacket for National peace. at Cairo waited for about 2 hours then we left to Toronto.
At Toronto now the immigration guys no get joy oooo, the babe come ask for all the document finally e come reach for the money we bring come Canada. so i told her we brought $1500 oboy no be small thing ooo this lady come dey speak english ooooo, as a sharp Nigeria guy before leaving Nigeria i activated online banking, dollar card and domiciliary account of all currency and change almost all the naira to dollar.
so we transfer all the money instantly to the dollar card and that was it. every other thing was history. Above all Pray before leaving, Baba God nia get Power.

"Just got my consultants email stating cic has asked to resubmit my last 6 months bank statement but I don't have that much funds in the account right now".
The above was posted today by someone in one of the WhatsApp groups. Some people have been posting about loopholes and how to beat CIC with proof of funds. CIC is unpredictable and if you fall into their hands, you will be banned for some years and then your IELTS and WES plus application fees can go into the wind. Be careful what you submit, wait till you are ready, some of us have been on it since 2015. And please stop posting your fraudulent ideas on this thread. It was started by people with Integrity.
Thanks. Am still waiting for PPR sha |

EJIZY: Hi revlane....please did u submit another POF before you were told to pay RPRF?congrats in advance. I wasn't and if I am asked I will find money ASAP. I posted this for Pre-AOR people. Each application is unique and you can be penalized for something while someone else is favoured. For example, some people get rejected for missing PCC while some get ADR for missing PCC. |

Thanks for the input. I raised the issue here so many people can learn from it. Sometimes they minute on your application and just leave it like that for months not touching it. You won't know what is going on. My advice is to take note of all these info here before submitting any application and when you notice their isn't movement for a long while (Not London V.O) try to order GCMS to at least see your application status. I have been asked to pay RPRF sha so I guess am lucky. folamingo: Shu! You should be thanking God, the application was not cancelled/rejected. If I were you, I would have calculated using black market rate by now, gotten the shortfall in my account, printed another statement and raised a CSE with the new POF details.
In my opinion, how can rates be locked in My advice to people use Black market rate (this gives a buffer from official rate)...you know the naira is subject to foreign exchange fluctuations. Abi eventually when you get PPR and travel, is not the current black market dollar/PTA rate you will use for conversion? Even sometimes they ask for POF at the point of entry...
My 2 cents...we are learning. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by revlane: 3:16pm On Oct 01, 2017 |
cochtrane: Many forget that in areas like this your application is at the near full discretion of the visa officer. He could have just gone on google and determined using the current exchange rate that your POF was not enough. He couldn't have had the time to dig out what the exchange rate was at the time you placed your application. This is why you want to consider two options:
1. Render your POF in Canadian dollars in a domicilliary account and remove the influence exchange rate fluctuations 2. Ensure your naira when converted to dollars is way above the requirement such that exchange rate fluctuations will have no influence in the foreseeable future.
Clearly, you should have fixed more than that and not held your application by a thread. Both suggestions are perfect to enable one sleep with two eye closed if there is anything like that when it comes to CIC. |

linuslynx: This raises questions to if rate applied at AOR are locked or fluctuates untill you've gotten PPR. The exchange rate even as close as two months ago on oanda was in the range NGN280/1CAD. For 3M it means your conversion rate was N243/1CAD to equal the minimum amount for single applicant which is CAD12,300. Probably at the time of your submission the rate you used was wrong or something else I can't explain happend. I'd let others weigh in on this. Thanks boss. I added a screenshot of Oanda.com showing about 3M =12,700cad. So it wasn't a matter of wrong calculation. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by revlane: 2:16pm On Oct 01, 2017 |
I received copy of my GCMS yesterday and on it the case analyst said in bold letters that according to the GTB exchange rate at the time of my application, I do not meet the minimum required funds for single applicant. Hence under Eligibility, it shows Review Required. I fixed 3M which at that time was about 12,700cad using Oanda which I uploaded. My question is did I miss something, or the funds I fixed should have been more than that? Is it now advisable to use bank rate? AOR May 25 MP July 5 NA2 July 5 Application at Ottawa |

Congratulations to you. So happy for you. That's a new Guinness Record LOL XX01: Back to more important things.
I received the golden mail this morning. It is PPR people! God has just been so faithful. Wrote to them yesterday evening Nigerian time and they responded that it was in Ottawa and hasn't been finalized yet. Only to wake up to the golden mail this morning. Don't know if they work over night in the Ottawa office.
19days from AOR to PPR. It can only be God. I put the barest minimum I could put (apart from the bank reference letters). Didn't provide a single bank statement. Didn't include payslips and appointment letters. Had plenty travel history for both my husband and I. I had nearly all my funds in my husband's account. God just covered over any mistakes as none were intentional.
ITA = 9th Aug AOR=11th sept. MEDP= 21st sept. IP1 = 22nd sept. NA2 = 27th Sept IP2 = 29th sept. PPR = 30th sept.
Will send my passports once I return to my house next week. |

jassymama: I will answer just number 2 and others with experience on spouse inclusion will say their bit.
DO NOT withhold info from cic cos it will backfire, if u get married before ppr inform them immediately, waiting till after ppr can lead to withdrawal of your visa cos ur wedding date will show u got married before the issuance of the visa.
This I know cos it happened to someone.
If u want to include after ppr, wait till u get the mail then u can fix ur wedding at a later date, goodluck!!! Thanks a lot. Your response is appreciated. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by revlane: 8:59am On Jul 09, 2017 |
Boss13: Thanks for the response. Immigration is an important process and should be properly planned. I believe the poster knew he was going to get married soon, but decided to proceed with the application. Maybe he thought of just giving it a trial. This is a wrong approach.
Marriage is also very important and if you intend to immigrate, please inform your future partner. They may or may not like the idea. This is to ensure proper planning. If he proceeds without his spouse, it takes 6 months for spouse sponsorship and that's another process, additional money and even not definite if they are issues.
If an applicant knows that he would be getting married shortly, please delay applying. Get married and start your application. There is this notion that single applicants get more CRS than married applicants and some Indians are trying to disguise their marriage or marriage plans - this is misrepresentation.
Canada is still going to take qualified immigrants in the future, as long as you are a qualifying immigrant, you stand a chance. Don't join the rush bandwagon and complicate your application.
The guy can raise CSE to inform CIC of his new situation. Thanks for the detailed approach. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by revlane: 7:39pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
To those that got married after AOR. Please I have these questions. 1. If I want to upload additional funds for spouse, can I just fix it for three months since my application will be almost three months by then. 2. Am thinking of adding spouse after PPR mail, is that a good strategy? As anyone done this successfully. 3. Like how long will it take to finalise spouse application when added.
Thanks |
