Big B, Not at all. El-Rufai is not from the south. I like Rufai and if the presidency goes to the north then he is the one I would like to see in power. I don't care where the president comes from, I just want a good President. Afterall I am not from Cross River State or the South-South but I am heavily supporting Duke. |
Big B, I agree that Donald Duke could get elected and nothing changes, even though I strong believe otherwise, however let's try something different because everything we have tried so far has failed. What is the point of trying a a leader who failed woefully over an 8 year period? Nobody, let alone politician, is a saint, we have all sinned and fallen short, however IBB has done things no other Nigeria Head of State apart from maybe Abacha did. Please tell us what bad things, like corruption, murder etc IBB has done that Duke, Okonjo-Iweala, Rufai or Utomi has done? |
Obudu race gets IAAF Permit status (http://odili.net/news/source/2006/aug/18/10.html) THE Obudu Ranch International Mountain Race has achieved a major feat. Only in its second year, the race has been approved by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) as a permit race. A letter conveying the approval was signed by Pierre Weiss, secretary general of IAAF, and sent to the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, William Archibong. The IAAF also copied the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA). This means that the race is to enjoy the status of an IAAF event and all the rules and regulations of the IAAF guiding the organisation of such events must be adhered to. The LOC is to send a report on the event to the IAAF immediately it ends. It also implies that records broken at the event would be ratified and approved by the IAAF and international athletes can score and accumulate points at the event. The first edition of the race endorsed by the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA), which held last year, was adjudged to be hugely successful, a feat that brought about its instant recognition by the IAAF. That edition saw Ben duBois of Australia and Anna Pitchrtova of the Czech Republic winning for men and women respectively. The Obudu Ranch International Mountain Race remains the highest paying mountain race in the world, with the winners for both men and women taking home the star prize of $50,000. The second edition comes up on November 25, 2006, at the Obudu Ranch Resort, Cross River State, Nigeria, with a lot of innovations. There will be a VIP challenge, where His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, will race with VIPs, celebrities and top executives of Corporate Nigeria and the first prize here will be a Live Bull. There will also be the Media Race and a three-day massive build-up to the main race, which will include road shows, stakeholders dinner, bonfire night and an anti-doping seminar. |
The prophet has provided more clarity (http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/july/06/national-06-07-2006-005.htm) Ibadan John the Baptist speaks By GBENGA ABEGUNRIN, Ibadan Thursday, July 6, 2006 National Index Reverend Perez Iyiola Oluyemi is well known in Ibadan, Oyo State capital for many of his predictions that had come to pass. Recently the man of God revealed that Governor Donald Duke of Cross River State would be President Olusegun Obasanjo's successor in year 2007. The clergy further added that Nigeria would become a great nation that would give solace to other countries of the world, both spiritually and economcally in the year 2009 if the issue of 2007 general election is not allowed to divide he country. Addressing a press conference at his Adamasingba, Ibadan church office recently, Reverend Oluyemi stated that northerners should forget about the presidency for now as power would not shift to the region in 2007 . The man of God, however, added that if the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fails to pick Governor Duke as its presidential candidate in 2007, another person from the region would emerge as the next president from another political party, maintaining that Professor Pat Utomi is the only alternative to Governor Duke. In his words "If the PDP would still remain as the ruling party, it has to pick Donald Duke. If it fails to do so, Pat Utomi would emerge from another party because the star of presidency is dangling on both of them. Either of the two can emerge, but Donald Duke is more favoured. "The next president would be a nationalist and a patrotic Nigerian with disciplined background, who would be a father indeed for all the tribes in the country. A person that would prepare Nigerians for the economic boom the country would witness in 2009." Reverend Oluyemi, however, added that like the voice of John the Baptist in the Holy Bible, his prophecies would surely come to fulfilment, maintaining that God has instructed him to blow the trumpet across the country |
Big B, I take your point but there is a difference between ruling Nigeria and changing Nigeria. Yes changing Nigeria is very difficult because of the things we both mentioned like lawlessness, lacking refinement, lacking moral, lacking self respect etc but ruling Nigeria is EASY because most of the leaders so far are in power but don't change much positively. You can be President and do nothing about these problems and still win the election for a second term. You mentioned that we still can't find who killed Bola Ige, Funsho Williams, Dr Daramola etc. Exactly my point. OBJ has failed to improve the security in the country and yet there has been no political repercussions for him. That is why Nigeria is easy to rule. You can be a poor or unsucessful President and remain in power. Regarding comparing Nigeria and the US; yes they are different however the US is much more difficult to rule. Juwish connections, Gay rights, womens rights, minority rights etc. All these groups can vote the President out of power so he is forced to listen to them and incorporate some of their demands, even if he does not agree with them. In Nigeria the President knows he can totally ignore a particular ethnic group and even insult them or send in soldiers to kill them but still win the election through rigging. Donald Duke can rule Nigeria easily. In fact if Duke wins people will wonder why past rulers had struggled to improve and change the nation before he came into power because it will be done easily. Is Nigeria more complicated that India or Parkistan that have both been ruled by Women? Gowon came into power at the age of 34 and within a year had to fight the civil war, yet he lasted 9 years. Nigeria now is in much better shape that during that time of strife, wars, coups. Let's stop kidding ourself about being the giant of Africa and difficult to rule etc because that is exactly why there has been little or no progress so far. We keep looking back to leaders of old thinking the younger generation are not ready to rule. NONSENSE! Duke, Rufai etc are ready to rule tomorrow and I believe either of them will transform Nigeria beyong recognition, my preference being the former of course. If Duke is not ready why are some top politicians, including northerners backing him? See links below. I heard today that former president Shagari may be backing Duke; now he should know what it takes to rule. Watch this space but I strongly believe Donald Duke will be the next President of Nigeria. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=54184 http://www.tribune.com.ng/04062006/news/news4.html |
Big B, on the contrary I think Nigeria is one of the easiest nations to rule on earth. Nigerians accept anything you throw at them. The US is 100 times more difficult to rule than Nigeria because the people and the congress will not accept anything and if the President crosses the line he will be fired. The very fact that IBB can even contemplate coming back and running for election just shows you how easy Nigeria is to rule, how quickly people forgot and how easily Nigerians are to buy. The President of Nigeria can do anything and get away with it; things that in other civilised countries he will impeached or even jailed for. Some example: 1) Recently OBJ handed over Bakassi to Cameroun against the constitution. Bakassi is included in the constitution as being an integral part of Nigeria so the only way this territory could be handed over is after the national assembly changed the constitution. However OBJ didn't even seek the permission of the NA and I read in the papers today that he sent the NA a letter yesterday (dated June) seeking permission. What a cheek, given the Bakassi has already being handed over. Who is going to question him? In other democracies the President will be impeached for this especially as it was against the wishes of the indigenes of Bakassi. Other nations would have held a referendum first but not in Nigeria. 2) OBJ was ordered to release Lagos State's allocation by the Supreme Court and he still refused. In other civilised countries the President will be impeached for that. Not in Nigeria 3) Soon after OBJ came to power there was a revolt in a small community in Rivers State and OBJ sent in the Army who killed hundreds and burnt the village mercilessly. In other countries this would bring down the President 4) Almost the entire Northern Nigeria introduced Sharia law against the constitution and the President stood by helplessly. In other civilised nations it will bring down the President. 5) 7 years after OBJ came to power there is no stable electricity; in other civilised nations this would lead to the downfall of the President. The truth of the matter is nothing, apart from coups or death, has ever lead to the downfall of a Nigeria regime. So don't give me that nonsense about Nigeria being difficult to rule. Nigeria is an incredibly easy country to rule, where everything is accepted with the phrase "God dey". To this day there has never been a civil revolution in Nigeria because the people are so scared and as soon as the police/army shoot they disappear. I can rule Nigeria easily. In Nigeria if you try to prosecute a rich/prominent person for corruption or a crime even as serious as murder his entire community, state and tribe will rally round him and say it is becuase he is an Igbo, Yoruba or Ijaw man etc. Was that not what happenned in OBJ's case? When the NA tried to impeach him the South, including South West who didn't even vote for him, rallied round him. If Duke is elected President the entire South Nigeria will back him up because they will see it as an attempt by the North to install their man. So what exactly is it that will make it difficult for Duke to rule Nigeria? |
Top criteria for 2007 is corruption or the lack of it as far as the candidates are concerned. Ibori is one of those to be arrested by the EFCC for corruption next year so how can he run for President when he is incredible corrupt and very likely an ex-convict. |
ha ha ha I can't stop laughing. Jackal I am beginning to suspect you are either IBB himself, his son, a relative, a very close friend or an employee. Otherwise how could you be so blind? Of course IBB is contesting the election because he thinks he can win; his praise singers like you have given him this false impression. Gowon thought he could win and lost the primaries, Abacha thought he could win and died, Buhari thought he could win and lost twice, OBJ thought he could win a third term and lost, add IBB to this listIBB intelligent? If so why does he fail at everything. He is not even the most intelligent man in his village let alone Nigeria. IBB has never failed in his endevours? This is a man who spent N50bn over several years and still failed to install democracy in Nigeria. This is a man tried for years to Structually Adjust the economy and failed miserably. This is a man who was himiliated out of power in 1993, he was so much in a hurry to get out because he knew he would die that he handed over to Ernest Shonekan of all people. Quite frankly IBB was removed from power by Abacha but the latter knew that a direct taken will not be acceptable to Nigerians especially after June 12, so they decided to install a weak ING so take Abacha can take over after a few months. Why do you think IBB retired all the military chiefs except Abacha? It is because he could't retire him. Abacha saved IBB's regime from a certain overthrow during the Orkar coup and from that day Abacha became more powerful than IBB. IBB was a failure yesterday, today and forever. I will certainly have the last laugh on this one and his fownfall could even be before 2007 i.e. before the end of this year. |
It's is good news because for 13 years I have waited the downfall of the thieving IBB and it is about to happen. IBB can't even win the PDP primaries let alone the country. |
I am enjoying the run up to the 2007 elections. The truth about IBB is about to be revealed. Even the average Northerners don't like him because he did nothing for them, do you remember the man who slapped him in the mosque a few years back? ![]() Jackal, just watch and see the downfall of your beloved IBB. Go Duke Go! Yes to President Donald Duke GCFR! - www.dukeforpresident.com ![]() Stop IBB! Down with IBB - www.againstbabangida.com ![]() |
Well, I am sure Spike Lee will beat a dead Bruce Lee I have seen several polls, including the ones on this site (Nairaland) and Duke has trounced IBB and others in all of them, so where do you get this disillusion that IBB is popular?Jackal, you amaze me. I am convinced you either benefited from the corrupt IBB regime in the 80s/90s or you were totally blinded by IBB's evil charm. IBB did well as a military officer? ha ha ha Don't make me laugh. He was involved in almost every coup in the history of Nigeria and hardly went to any war zones. Why do you think IBB overthrew Buhari and killed Dele Giwa? I know high ranking retired army officers who say with convictions that IBB was involved in the drugs trade and was to be sacked and arrested by Buhari before the coup in 1985. Is that who you want to rule Nigeria again? God forbid! Quite frankly IBB was no military officer, he was simply a politician in military uniform who did probably the greatest damage to Nigeria in history in those 8 years in power. IBB wants to come back to cover his tracks but it is too late; watch him humiliated over the next few months. |
It is official now that IBB is running for the presidency. The battle lines are drawn between OBJ and IBB. I think this could be good news because it will be great to see Babangida defeated, disgraced and rejected at the 2007 polls by the Nigeria people. That would diminish his influence and make it easier for him to be arrested and tried for all his crimes and corruption while in office. Bring it on!!!!!!!! ________________________________ Babangida to contest Nigeria poll Source - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4797395.stm Nigeria's former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida has announced he will be a candidate in the presidential election due to be held in April 2007. In a press interview, he accused the country's present political elite of fuelling ethnic and religious violence. Mr Babangida governed Nigeria for eight years until 1993. He was toppled from power by mass protests after he annulled elections that were widely seen as having been won by a businessman, Moshood Abiola. "I will contest in the election. Under the banner of the Nigerian people," Mr Babangida said in an interview with Reuters and the London newspaper the Financial Times. Mr Babangida is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), but it is far from certain whether the party would back him as its presidential candidate. Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is also believed to be seeking the PDP nomination. "The challenge of the next leadership is to make Nigeria whole again," Mr Babangida said, blaming the political elite for fuelling violence that has killed at least 15,000 people since democracy was restored to Nigeria in 1999. He dismissed suggestions that current President Olusegun Obasanjo would try to remain in power beyond his two-term constitutional mandate. "As long as we conduct elections, which I am optimistic that we will in 2007, the transition process from civilian to civilian is feasible, it's workable," Mr Babangida said. "We have a constitution. If you go outside that, it is like a breach." Correspondents say there has been speculation in Nigeria that Mr Babangida gave financial support to Mr Obasanjo's 1999 election campaign, in return for a promise that he would become the president's chosen successor. Mr Obasanjo has however denied favouring any particular successor to the presidency. |
Big B, IBB well respected? By Whom? Certainly not me. IBB is not respected in Nigeria, even in the North. IBB vs Duke in a fair electtion and I have no doubt Duke will win. Duke is a lot stronger than you think and will rise to the occasion as President. Remember when Bill Clinton was facing Bush Snr in 1992? Lots of people were saying Clinton was not experienced enough and Bush was ecpected to win a second term especially as he had just lead the world against Saddam invasion if Kuwait. After Bush Snr lost many said it was a mistake, however today most acknowledges Clinton was one of the best US presidents ever. Duke reminds me very much of Clinton and I have no doubt he will be an excellent President and will shock people. We need to move away from this mentality that the Nigerian President must be very experienced otherwise we will always keep looking back to our former leaders. Nigeria looked back 20 years to bring OBJ back i.e. he left power in 1979 and returned 20 year later in 1999, and now people like you saying Nigeria should bring back IBB 14 years after leaving power. Then who after IBB, Abubakar? IBB should be answering for his crimes and corruption rather than running for an election and frankly I think it is a disgrace to Nigeria that people like you are calling for a criminal to be brought back. It is time to look forward. It is time for a change. It is time for the greated paradigm shift in the history of Nigeria that will culminate in the election of the first President born after Nigeria's independence. |
Please!!! TayoD, do you attend Okotie's church? Chris Okotie clearly, specifically and unambiguously said God told him he would win the 2003 elections and become President. So let's not beat about the bush by saying it doesn't matter how long it takes because he put a date to it himself and it did not happen. One thing I know is God does not lie so as far as I am concerned it was a false prophecy, period. |
Does anyone know when the next rounding of voting will take place to narrow the candidates to 4? All those who support Donald Duke should ensure they cast their vote for him to ensure he makes the top 4 and eventually wins. The winner will get lots of publicity so we must pull together to make it happen for Duke. I support IBB may have been voted for by Northerner of even paid people to vote for him. I never though he would make the list. Okotie probably got voted in by members of his church and other christians who believe they will prosper by supporting a pastor. |
OK. Now explain to me based on the line of arguement before, how is this an achievement when electricity is steady in many countries around the world? Also, why is Ghana still experiencing power cuts today if the power sector reform was so successful? Ghana has stable electricity for a period of time after the reforms but there are still severe power cuts. How has Rawlings solved the problem? Do you know that Malaysia was once of the same size as Ghana economically because has since left Ghana far behind. Rawlings was in power for about 20 years and in that time Ghana did not solve the power problem, although he improved it. |
4Play, exactly. You hit the nail on the head. It is the underperformance of the past leaders that makes OBJ achievements good. Performance is relative. If in a very large family no one has ever made it into university the first person who goes to university will be celebrated as if they have achieved something that is extraordinary. And indeed it is something special in the context of that family even though thousands of students go the university every day. This debate started because Jackal said IBB is 10 times better than OBJ; if that were the case the standards by which we assess Nigerian leaders would be much higher and people won't be praising OBJ for these achievements which should be the norm. Yes in the rest of the world they are the norm but in Nigeria were nothing seems to work anyone who achieves these thing should be praised. Let me thow open a challenge to all of you who oppose my line of arguement; tell me a leader of any country in the world, dead or alive, who you think performed well. Then we can analyse the achievements you admire them for and see if they had direct control or involment in those achievements or if the achievements are unique and no other countries had attained them before. This will help the rest of us understand you criteria for deciding a good leader because I am confused, Jackal said OBJ has not performed yet says IBB did. ![]() |
Jackal, you are again contradicting yourself. Listen to yourself; you say "Countries like Ghana, Gambia and even war-ragged Sierra Leone started the use of GSM phones before Nigeria", that is exactly my point. Why did successive governments in Nigeria before OBJ fail to introduce GSM? Why was Nigeria one of the last counteries in Africa and the world to introduce GSM? Why was it that when previous governments tried to introduce mobile phones in Nigeria non of the big multinational companies were interested? OBJ came in and did what others before him couldn't or wouldn't do and you say it has nothing to do with him? If he had decided to give the contract to his cronies or state owned companies like Nitel etc do you think Nigeria will have a functioning GSM today? Regarding NEPA, the investments required to turn around the electricity sector is a lot larger than the telecoms sector and the problem and solution are a lot more complicated so it takes time. However at the end of 2007 things will radically improve with the new gas driven power projects due to be commissioned this year and next. I am sure when the problem is eventually solved you will give the credit to the companies and not to the government. |
Jackal, goverments never (or shouldn't) directly get involved in things that impact the lives of the people, they only create a condusive environment that enables private companies to operate and impact lives of the people and the economy. The economic revolution currently taking place in China today is not driven by the government but by the private companies, however the government has received huge credit for it because it created the enabling environment. Think about the hugh economic growth that happened in the US in the 90s. Has Bill Clinton got shares in the private technology companies that drove the growth? No, but his government received credit for it because it created the enabling enviroment. Did Bill Clinton own the stock market that created so much wealth for Americans? No, but if his policies had been poor it could have lead to negative economic and stock market growth. In capitalism, the ecomomy is driven by the private sector with little or no direct government involvement, so based on you arguement no President or government can ever do any thing good because it is the private sector that drives the economy and provides the jobs that impact the man on the street. That is seriously flawed arguement, if you don't understand why then have a look at Zimbabwe and that should help. Why do you think mobile phones failed under the previous governments in Nigeria. Simple, corruption. Abacha gave the contract to his wife and nothing ever came of it. OBJ handled the GSM in a transparant and credible way that made it possible for MTN, Globacom and co to even consider coming to Nigeria. Remember Nigeria had the reputation as being one of the most corrupt nations in the world. These GSM companies would never have stepped foot in Nigeria if OBJ had not created an enabling environment and conducted the deregulation of the telecoms sector in a way that gave them confidence. So make no mistake about it OBJ deserves huge credit for the telecoms revolution in Nigeria. If you don't understand that then you must believe in direct government control that has led to so many failed institutions and white elephants like NITEL, NEPA, NPA, Nigeria Airways, NNSL etc etc etc. OBJ's government recently sold off Delta and Ajaokuta Steel Companies to an Indian Steel Giant owned by Mitaal and in a short time they turned them around and for the first time in over 10 years Nigeria has started producing steel and is about to start exporting. Will you give the credit for that to Mitaal only? Abacha and IBB wasted billions on the two companies and failed so OBJ deserves credit for turning around the steel industry. |
Jackal, since you asked for one thing OBJ has done I will give you one. The introduction of GSM mobile phones has created thousands of jobs and improved the business and general economic environment. Nigerians no longer have to waste time and resources travelling hundreds of miles only to arrive and be told "oga don travel". The telecoms revolution has been a huge success and improved the lives of the average Nigerian. Ask yourself how many of the previous Governments, including IBB I believe and Abacha, tried to introduced mobile phones and failed woefully. Murtala was a military head of state killed during a military coup, I won't even call it an assasination. It was a bloody coup that failed and is very different from the assasination of innocent civilians like Dele Giwa - which involved the first use of a parcel bomb in Nigeria. |
Obasanjo has done 10 times better than IBB. The economy is currently growing at 7% a year, under IBB it grew at an average of 2.5% and sometimes actually shrunk. Buhari also did better than Babangida. Please send your arm in the post by first class IBB's programmes were put in place to enable embezzlement of funds, why do you think there were so many, from MAMSER, SAP, DEFRE etc etc.You say the naira never exceeded 22 to 1 under IBB. Well, that is because it was pegged at an overvalued rate. Did you know that? The worst thing you can do to an economy is to artificially peg the currency. It does not encourage export and growth. I wasn't talking about crime in general but assassination. Dele Giwa and many others were killed under IBB and that started a spiral of assassinations that carrys on even today. There was corruption under Shagari but the man himself wasn't corrupt but IBB actually encouraged people to be corrupt and stole billions of dollars himself. As for drug pushing, you say it started before IBB's regime. True but there are strong indications IBB was involved in drug pushing before he came to power. Who was Gloria Okon? Why was Dele Giwa Killed. Why do you think IBB calls himself 'Evil Genious'. You seem to be contradicting yourself by saying "Until EFCC arrest big guns like IBB, Abdusalam and Akhigbe they will continue to be like some bunch of puppets controlled by the notorious PIG(OBJ)". On the on hand you say IBB is good then on the other hand you say he should be arrested. So you must think he is a criminal then. Well you may have heard his son was arrested today so the loop is closing in on him. IBB did more damage to Nigeria, ecomomically, morally and psycologically than any other leader, except maybe Abacha. |
What, IBB? That is the Joke of the year. Jackal, are you being paid by IBB or are you one of those who benefited corruptly during his regime? You say OBJ has not impacted the common man on the street, is it IBB who did? IBB introduced SAP and asked the people to adjust their belts while he embezzled billions of dollars. IBB destroyed the Nigeria economy and introduced corruption, crime and lawlessness on a scale never seen. Most of Nigeria's problem today originated from IBB and Abacha's regime. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spare us. IBB should be in jail for all his crimes. God forbid we ever have a President like that again. As for Marwa, he put soldiers on the street to fight crime and you praise him for that. Do you see soldiers on the street fighting crime in the developed world? What we need is an effective police force, not soldiers on the street. And where did he get the money to start an Airline? |
what is safe about a prophecy that picked 2 out of over 20 candidates? The two candidates he picked also don't conform to the sort of people who have ruled Nigeria to date and both are from the south-south and ethnic groups that have not held power before. It is a BOLD prophecy if anything. |
If Ukiwe had any achievements they would speak for themselves. He wouldn't need to highlight them to us and you won't need to research them. Remember only talking about relevant achievements, not just any achievement. Of course rising to the rank of Commodore in the Navy is an achievement but it is not very relevant to what he would do as President. I believe Donald Duke's achievements stand out and even more so because Cross Rivers State has the 6th lowest allocation from the federal government. In a few years time Cross Rivers will be the place to be and one of the most well known and most developed places in Nigeria. If Duke is elected President the way the world views Nigeria will be radically changed, foreign investments will flow in and many Nigerian living abroad will return home. |
If his principles haven't changed then that is great but what are his achievements? Achievements and vision are what we are looking for. IBB, Buhari etc are not qualified either because they did not achieve in Goverment. In an ideal world all presidential candidates should first serve as Governors because that would give Nigerians an opportunity to assess them. I agree with OBJ that we should adopt the American way of choosing presidents from the State Governors or Congress because that way it would be clear what they have achieved. Ukiwe has no track record to back up his claim to be suitable for the Presidency. |
Deep Soul, 'false prophet' and 'false prophecy' are two completely different things. Any prophecy that does not come to pass is false. God does not lie. Okotie's prophecy did not come to pass, I am not saying he is a false prophet i.e. all his prophesies are false but the fact remains the one about becoming President in 2003 was false. The bible tells us to test all prophesies; we will have to wait for the events related to 2007 elections to unfold to test the prophecy about Duke or Utomi winning. |
Exactly. All Ukiwe did was resign in protest from IBB's government but does that qualify him to be President? Absolutely not! Yes it proved he had principles, but that is not enough and it was 20 years ago i.e. he may no longer have those same principles. We need sunstance and not airy fairy achievements. |
Okotie actually said God told him he will be President in 2003 but as that didn't happen so I won't take him serious. By the way, prophets were stoned in the old testaments for giving false prophesies so these guys are fortunate to be living in these times when they can say whatever and get away with it. |
Well, it is interesting that he predicted the impeachment of Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Diepreye Alamieyesigha. However that donesn't mean this prophecy will come to pass, but the exciting thing is the accuracy, or inaccuracy as the case may be, will be revealed soon as events unfold prior to the elections. If Duke and Utomi are the main candidates or either wins then we will all know Perez Oluyemi is indeed a prophet of substance. |
By Funso Fafowora (www.tribune.com.ng) - 24.06.2006 CONTRARY to the direction of the political ratings in the country, President Obasanjo’s successor will either be Mr Donald Duke, the Cross River State governor or Professor Pat Utomi of the Lagos Business School. Reverend Perez Oluyemi, General Overseer, Achievers Rock Assembly in Ibadan said God revealed to him that the choice of the next president would be between the two men. “I saw stars gyrating on these two people from the South-South. The mandate is between the two of them depending on the unfolding events and their reaction to these events. “They might not look like it, or have the political ratings to suggest this, but this is the direction the Lord is looking in 2007 and only Him knows how He is going to do it. “I don’t know either of them personally but if you are conversant with the Bible, you will discover that it is not the popular ones that finds favour with Him”, he said. Reverend Oluyemi predicted the impeachment of Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Diepreye Alamieyesigha both former governors of Oyo and Bayelsa States. This later prediction to him is a follow up to the one he earlier predicted that the South-South will produce the next president. He said the choice between Donald Duke and Pat Utomi will depend on their relationship with God and their relationship with the people. “The way they respond to this prophecy will determine who will be ordained. Expect the popularity rating of these two Nigerians to begin to soar. “Heaven is in such urgency to make the country great, and it is only those who are ready to cooperate with the mandate of God that will be at the helm of affairs, Reverend Oluyemi said. ----------------------------------------------------- What do you guys think? Either one will be good news and progress for Nigeria but as you know my 1st choice is Duke. |
actually, I am a straight married man with children
