Please tell me you don't mean that!! shocked

I don't really 'hate' kids per se but I don't want the loud, jumping-running annoying ones anywhere near me and I hate the idea of having kids myself so I don't have and won't have any. They are cute in photos where they don't run and scream and break things cheesy Well-behaved quiet kids are ok too.

Lol.. Finland is great.. But the ''minding of business'' thing was extreme then.. Even mall attendants were not as exciting as their counterparts here in Nigeria.. Nothing like ''how are you doing'' type of question.. It was too ''robotic'' or rather, too ''professional and direct'' for me.. The bar tenders basically poured ale for me.. Nothing like, ''you seem new here'', ''whatsup''.. Abegi.. They should enjoy their silence..

They are not a talkative people. Which is great for me, I don't like talking to random strangers. If the salespeople at the mall approach me without me calling them to ask for something, I run a mile. I want to be left alone damnit! The only kind of people whose random approach and talking won't bother me is the tall, blonde blue eyed nordic men. They can tall to me all they want cheesy cheesy cheesy

Some Canadian guy, who had travelled to over 100 countries, said Iran had some of the kindest people he had ever met.

Total strangers wouldn't even let him pay his fare, and would pay for him instead.

I heard this about Iran from Turkish travellers. People showed them great hospitality.

What about the Nigeria's that go there and make it big time? Are you saying they're lucky or hard-working? There's so much disinformation in this thread.

People coming from outside are not born and raised in that caste system so they can choose where to live at the very least.

Really...
So how come foreigners are moving in from 3rd world countries n earning 100 thousand dollars per annum as first salary

That must be 0.1% of the foreigners. Only those who had top notch education and/or serious work experience can get that. Many (less educated) end up working 2-3 jobs for years until they are in decent shape financially.

6 figure isn't that big. System takes it from you by pushing credit and consumerism. In one research survey, only a sma small percentage of 6 figure earners in America could produce 2000 dollars right away. They were buried up to their necks in mortgage and credit debt and had no savings.

Also foreigners and people born in rural towns/ghetties don't have the same opportunities. There are sociological and psychological studies analyzing the dynamics creating the issue.
Poor Americans are stuck in the caste system with little chance to move up, a significant factor is psychological conditioning which I have seen first hand and Thomas Sowell researched and analyzed the aake phenomena in poor black ghettoes.

The whole nation is stingy.
The only people who hide their face on Facebook are mentally disturbed types or people with deformities and an inferiority complex. Normal people put their profile photos.

Exactly, I don't like that they don't cover theirs up and it's even worse than the osu system in parts of Igboland.

American caste system is pretty bad, too. 99% die in the caste they are born to or even a lower one. Lucky few get rich and move up.

India's caste system repulses me, Nigerian guys have made Malaysia a den of drug barons, fraudsters, etc and Turkey is mostly Islamic.

There is caste system everywhere perhaps except the Nordic countries, only Indians don't cover theirs up.
West coast of Turkey is very secular, not really islamic.
No idea about Malaysia but that sounds bad.

And that's the major reason why I left Finland four years ago. It's not just about the introverted people, but also the winter, darkness and geographical isolation. The country is so big that everything is just far away. And to leave the country by air is so damn expensive, and almost no direct flight.

For an average Nigerian, Finland and largely Scandinavian countries will be hell to live permanently.

Winter and darkness isn't forever, it is balanced by the long summer days. I don't leave the country too often (other than going to Tallinn) but when I do I find cheap tickets from momondo or flyhacks. It's cheap if you buy well in advance. I love doing road trips in summer, and foraging for food and taking photos in the wilderness. I think it would be total hell for people from big cities and hot sunny places.

Helsinki isn't even that bad, Rovaniemi is a village when you compare and has almost 2 months of long night where you don't see the light of day.

Small chops, salads (even though some were mixed with mayonnaise.. and i really hate mayonaisse!), fruits and fries were basically my saviours.. I stayed longer than anticipated, though the cost was not on my neck, i felt for my friend.. Some meals cost as much as €52 per person! Its good to know that you've taken up my own mantle of boredom..
Try and make them lively though.. Incase I end up showing up again.. smiley cheesy

Eating out is one thing I miss from America, it's so cheap even the dead broke poor people can afford to go to a half-decent diner.

Here it's a luxury for special occasions like wedding anniversary. There is cheap work lunch buffet where they have decent food, it's not the best but quite ok.
I've never paid €50 or even €40 for a meal, no way! I can cook the best steaks for 2 and it still won't cost anywhere near that.

Finns are lively when they are drunk. Not when they are sober.

what do. You when you go on international flights. Are there any flights over Antarctica . With your telescope how are u sure u are not looking at stars. They tell u it's planets and you believe. Am giving u real proof. Get a p9000 camera, go up a hill and zoom to look into a horizon. Mark a landmark. Measure the distance on a map. Then calculate how much the landmark should be below the horizon. Use according to your globe earth, one mile = 8inches deep. Factor in the height of the hill then tell me your results.

*****FACEPALM****

That 8 inches thing is wrong. It doesn't work like that.
Also there is your own height. 8 inches is for the grounf itself, not with 170cm height added. You have to lie down and be level with the ground, otherwise take a whole lot of mathematical factors & re-calculate, good fecking grief!

You must be either a troll or living in a cave to bring such a retarded argument about the planets.
No one can be that retarded and able to write a coherent sentence so I'm going with the troll guess.

The countries I'd never go:
War zones
Countries ruled with sharia or dictatorship regimes
High crime-low security, dangerous countries
Countries with bad tropical diseases with no vaccine or prevention method (diseases like dengue fever)

Lol.. You are so right.. They don't really have time for small talks..
My friend ludvik, took time to explain why they only discuss ''important things''.. I didn't care though.. After two months, i was already bored to death.. I didn't even get the food.. It seemed too dull and exotic.. Burgers and pizza made me tired.. Smh.
Helsinki remains forever beautiful though.

It's too expensive to eat out, burgers and pizzas are unhealthy and make you fat, everyone cooks at home. I like some of the traditional Finnish food but I learned the recipes and cook everything at home.

I'm never bored, I have so many things to do and not enough time, I like social activity but I have more than enough at club camp events twice a year, book conventions and festivals where I see everyone. Daily interaction -no time for that, I'd rather do it online where I can do other things at the same time.

..
Hope exploress is doing fine tho.

That's true and that's precisely why I live here: they leave me f*** alone. Unlike the Americans who are eager to greet and make smalltalk with strangers.
I love the freedom of not being bothered by anyone when I'm out and about. The only annoying thing is drunks talking gibberish and beggars.

I had a Nigerian colleague who was living in Finland with wife (also Nigerian) and baby daughter, he said he and his wife were both bored and depressed from the long dark winters with only 4-5 hours of sunlight (around the winter solstice sun sets about 3 pm and it gets pitch dark) they were looking into moving to the UK. They hated being locked up at home a winter cause of the extreme cold and dark.

Of you are an introvert and love the cold weather it's great. Otherwise it can be really depressing.

Yawns..nothing new. Fix corruption in Nigeria on every level by providing institutions to monitor and publish every penny leaving the treasury, and we will become one of the biggest economies in the world.

It looks like 70% of our national wealth is finding its way into the hands of the cabals. How can such a huge amount be disbursed without going through all due public tender process.

We should stop all this ranting and use our social media accounts discussing on how to fix corruption, and maybe create a special degree program in our universities specifically tailored to address corruption.

I know a top senator here in Europe who only owns a brand new Volvo Jeep XC90 and a 2007 Audi. Fighting corruption is not only about the will power, but predominantly on creating the right legal institutions to punish offenders, models and use of technology to combat financial crime. This shit should be treated like it was 9/11 hitting us.

Get the foreign-educated expat Nigerians into politics. Those people lived in corruption-free systems and have the know-how. Especially those who studies economical and political science, they would be invaluable assets as elected officials or technocrats.

good question. Have u seen any other planets apart from earth. What proofs do you have other than the classical physics guys. And actually, it's not classical physics cause classical physics couldn't explain the heavenly bodies. Look let me tell you. What proof do you have that there exists other planets. Forget Photoshop and fake pictures from NASA that has not even been able to leave lower earth orbit talkless of going to space. Have you heard of parabolic flights. Now the earth is so special because it's the only planet.

Foreign Affairs / Turkish Bridal Party Plane Crash Black Box Decoded: Grim Accident Report Relased by revontuli(f): 10:33pm On Oct 16, 2018
A Turkish Bombardier Challenger business jet has crashed in the mountains of Iran earlier this year, all 11 passengers and crew aboard were killed.
It was carrying a bridal party of the heiress of a business tycoon and her friends. Everyone on board including the pilots were all female.
Iranian civil authority has released the investigation report including the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder data.

 The aircraft encountered failure in Airspeed indication .The origin of
Airspeed failure is not cleared now and design information of related system
should be investigated.
 The crew reaction about the failure and reducing engine power caused stall
situation for the flight.
 The aircraft had sufficient altitude to allow the pilot to recover from the stall
situation.
 Flight crew could not perform emergency procedures both for unreliable
airspeed and stall recovery completely.
 The cockpit crew coordination based on CRM principle was not enough.
 The aircraft had integrity before impact to mountain area.

It was very painful to read the CVR transcript.

The captain saw a divergence in airspeed indicators on captain and f/o side during the climb to 38.000 feet, she requested permission to descend, but the airspeed indicator on her side was showing overspeed so she kept pitching the nose, not realizing the pitot-static system was malfunctioning. In the records she pitches the nose up despite the repeating stall warnings, the f/o questions this but doesn't take over and tries to initiate checklist procedure. They didn't have proper communication in the cockpit, they didn't apply the unreliable speed procedures or the checklist for getting out of the stall, and crash the plane almost like a suicidal move. This kind of malfunction is so textbook it's not even funny, every pilot is taught about it and even the people who play flight simulator games know about it.

At 14:38:43, in regard to the situation of the aircraft on the radar which was losing its
altitude and speed simultaneously, the controller asked the pilot "Confirm situation
normal?" but didn't receive any answer. Then, the controller tried to call the flight
several times with no success. There was never any response to other messages.

At 14:39:48, the controller asked THY 757, which was 8 NM forward of TC-TRB, to
call it. The pilot of THY 757 started to call TC-TRB using Turkish language but again
didn't receive any answer.

At 14:40:58, the controller shared information regarding TC-TRB with THY 757 that
the aircraft was disappeared from radar scope. The controller asked pilot of THY 757
to call TC-TRB again. THY 575 tried to call it several times, again with no response.
The pilot of THY 757 told radar controller that last time he saw TC-TRB on TCAS
display 6000 feet below his flight level, rapidly losing its altitude.

Here is the full report with lots of detailed photos: https://www.cao.ir/web/english/investigation-reports?p_p_id=NetFormGetFile_WAR_NetForm&p_p_lifecycle=2&p_p_resource_id=getFile&_NetFormGetFile_WAR_NetForm_file=OFZLTzN3cmdzVmJaNTBwa3crZWZmcDVCQXZKSzl2RGtZVlBDNnVFV0d2d3krZzVvQmJPR0xvVDFObUJzbEltRnYzVzZ2cUozelg5KwpXZThlSXFmY1hnPT0=.pdf
