rentAcock: Come to think of it, there's hardly any smart person in Nigeria's government. When you think of great countries like the US where a majority of past presidents graduated from very very prestigious universities like Yale, Harvard etc, its just a shame when compared to our Nigerian leaders. What happened to all the bookworms from Nigerian universities, why aren't they in government? Rather we have all these old farts who keep dumbing down the seats that they hold. We now have a semi-literate buffoon in the White House rather than an intellectual |

Like what happened in ghana Maybe leaders from highly educated diaspora Nigerians with good morals would progress Nigeria to become a superpower of Africa. |

Lucasbalo: That's the first thing that came to me too. I know guys in chicagoland that gets their blue passport in 7 years after coming here on visiting a visa. Imagine 30 years without citizenship in a liberal country ?. Something is wrong somewhere. Maybe what they say about the village people following some people around is really true. I bet you he's kicking himself right now wherever he is. How do we know he's telling the truth? What proof is there? Maybe he was there for 30 months and got caught for something else. No one can know the truth without seeing solid evidence. |

Follygunners: True but, Sad! We as a people have found a way of progressing in mediocrity and failure. I hope it gets better.
The even worse thing is that almost 90% of the foods here in the U.S are genetically (In-Organic) enhanced for profit maximization with a long-term negative effect. I was even surprised (I shouldn't be) that the various gov'ts of the western world embrace companies like 'Syngenta', 'Bayer Chemicals' et al... that specializes in modified genetics of plants and animals strictly for revenue generation.
I had to read extensively about Syngenta for one of my past interviews and was appa lled how far this have gone. Commercial pesticides and herbicides are horrible, too. You have to pay through your nose to get whole, unadultered, decent food in the States & the food regulations aren't anywhere near as good as the EU ones. Fresh food industry is a mess, green salads, fresh spinach and such get contaminated with e-coli and salmonella all the time, hundreds or even thousands of people get sick, several die by the time they recall the tainted produce. They feed corn to Seattle cause it's heavily subsidized and cheap. Cattle didn't evolve to digest corn, so their guts get overrun with e-coli bacteria and majority of the ground beef in the US is tainted with e-coli. People got sick and died from undercooked meatballs and frozen hamburger meat. Eggs are a major salmonella hazard, I was conditioned to treat raw eggs as contagion source when I lived in the States. Here in the Northern Europe you can eat raw eggs without fear. There's also the high fructose corn syrup problem, that thing is made from GMO corn and they put it in everything. No wonder obesity is such an epidemic. Food industry is a public health destroyer in the States. |

Follygunners: It's fine to have some few ignorant individuals but, when it becomes a norm within a society... then, there's a BIG problem. That's the case with Nigeria. They think getting a college degree is what education is all about. They're very ignorant of so many things especially Religion, Economy and Politics.
I neither take any of 'em other than 'Mountain Dew' and if I'm driving longer hours, I take 'Rock Star' I noticed the spiritual attack superstitions are pretty bad. All of those drinks taste so awful! German Club Mate is the best thing ever with wonderful taste and super high caffeine. It's made from yerba mate tea, not full of chemicals like all the others. But it's German and not easily found outside of Germany, Netherlands, Scandinavia. |

She is teaching the poor widows useful skills so that they can manufacture goods for trade. This woman is a true saint. |

FOOLS all over Africa! These rich Africans flaunt their wealth while foreigners from Europe are rescuing the starving abandoned children from the streets of Lagos. Shame! Shame! This a-hole could sponsor some poor kids' education and encourage philantrophy in the rich class. Instead, he's showing off his expensive cars to a poor population. |

ElsonMorali: You are delusional aren't you?
Let me help you out.
Google Otokoto, Google Clifford Orji.
Have you even been to Nigeria before?
Maybe you should pay a visit to Anambra state and do some digging for yourself.
Don't base your judgements on what you read here alone. I would have thought that would be obvious enough.
There are ritual killings in almost all parts of the South of Nigeria including Igbo land.
Google will do you a whole lot of good. Ok, maybe people here created a skewed bias image posting the news stories featuring only the Yoruba criminals. Rwanda has eliminated ritual murders, Kenya reduced it to a handful of cases a year. Skull mining seems to be a major problem in Ghana too. Many news stories like this: http://citifmonline.com/2018/02/07/23-yr-old-man-arrested-with-young-boys-head/Tanzania and Malawi have the albino body parts mining issue. This is beyond Igbo, Yoruba, whatever, it's a serious issue of subsaharan Africa. Some countries have it very rare, some have it as a daily affair. Why are some people resorting to this barbaric act to gain money instead of hustling? |

This is why I feel terrible when I see people support Yahoo boys on this forum. It's sad. Many of us don't know the extent of damage this Yahoo thing has done on our reputation When you say Nigerian in a lot of western countries, people think of scam. 491 scam is called Nigerian prince scam, those yahoo boys created a horrible reputation abroad. magicminister: This is what the article said:
“EFCC in collaboration with the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI have raided the bases of different internet fraudster at various locations across Nigeria”.
Bro e be like say na u no read the article They forgot one comma, it seems. FBI has no jurisdiction outside of America, they cooperate with the local police/cybercrime units in foreign countries for those raids. You can be sure it was EFCC who did the raids in Nigeria, not the FBI. They are not allowed to operate outside of the country. |
