APC was very strategic in the Edo election.
They did their homework and they advantage of Obasekis weakness.

The big wigs all started jumping ship the moment they saw the moves.

Asue would have made a great Governor, unfortunately he was riding on the wrong shoulders.

I couldn’t agree more.
Though I am skeptical of his power base being outside of Benin.

I don't know much about Edo politics, "Edo no be Lagos" described to be that no godfather can decide for Edo is laughable, Lagos as a place that godfather decides is doing better on every front than Edo that godfathers don't decide, is it not funny?

Voter's not turning up for gubernatorial elections is natural in the country, it's same way voter's turn out in low numbers for LGA elections.
It is not about "what happened in the last presidential election" anybody saying is a Iiar Iike obidents are Iiars.
It is about how Nigerians understand the govt, the average Nigerian don't know that it is the responsibility of his LGA to create, name and maintain streets, once u don't see street lights, u start blaming the presidency, it is the responsibility of the LGA to build and maintain parks, same as cemetery, the fact that most Nigerians don't know the functions of each tier of govt, know what to demand and how it affects their lives, they believe the presidency should do everything that's why they prefer to turn for presidential elections than gubernatorial or LGA elections and when u type the kind of sh*t u typed above above voter's not turning up, u are doing Nigerians a great injustice.

Last year before the elections, I met a man who has worked and retired from govt telling me with all form of certainties that Buhari didn't build their street.
He complained about his state govt owing them pensions and Buhari couldn't do anything about it, I asked the man, what are the function of the people u vote in as house of reps, he said "they don't have use", these are the kind of people that feel gubernatorial election or LGA doesn't concern them because they feel the presidency should provide everything even water.

A woman argued with me that state govts have no duty to deliver education to the people, she's an lgb0 obident, the exchange happened on Facebook, I asked her why are states creating education board if states don't have educational responsibility, she was mute.

What the people I described above have in common is that both of them are obi supporters who feel a messiah is coming to save them, Nigeria needs civic education to be taught their duties to the state, when u learn ur duties to the state and perform them rightly, good leaders will spring up naturally because when majority rightly perform their duties, they will NEVER allow those who don't perform their duties to lead no matter the level of tribal or religious politics being played, not until this part is well delivered, the society will never be in order.

Ur statement about voter's not turning up because of what happened in last presidential election is fallacy and u are not helping the Nigerian society by writing such article.
Before u write an article, learn first.

Go and collect your sachet of erujeje and shut up when men are talking.

Apc was positioned to win,the buffoon of a governor was a disaster. Labour Party was petty by choosing the other buffoon. Infact edo people were destined to make a wrong choice because anything apc is a curse as it stands now.

It was a matter of the devil and the deep blue sea.
Okpebholo’s ascendancy will take them back to the Igbinedion era of “share the money “ , while an Ighodalo victory would have continued the politics of signing MOIs without taking care of the political aspect of governance.

It would be sad to see the civil service fall back to what it used to be. But that’s what happens when you have democracy without education.
Politics / Edo No Be Lagos - But At What Cost? by rexbuton: 1:40pm On Sep 22
The people of Edo, though relatively apathetic this time, have once again demonstrated that no one can force them to do anything or vote for anyone against their will, not even a sitting governor. However, as expected, the results will likely lead to litigation.

For clarity, "Edo no be Lagos" means that the politics of Edo cannot be dictated by one individual, as is often said to happen in Lagos. For this reason, the state has consistently voted against aspiring godfathers rather than against specific parties.

As I write this, the results of the 2024 Edo Gubernatorial Elections are being collated, and there’s suspense in the air, fueling suspicion, press releases, and early calls for the elections to be cancelled. It’s not hard to see why—every degenerative milestone that typically accompanies INEC elections has been observed—police shows of force, the involvement of other state governors, delayed arrival or failure of INEC materials to appear, BVAS malfunctions, shadowy collation at the LGA level, and postponement of final collation accompanied by the scent of tear gas at various points. Both APC and PDP are familiar with this script. Curiously, most of the collation officers are Yoruba-origin lecturers from the Federal University of Technology Minna.

Early indicators suggest that the APC has narrowly secured this one, despite fielding a candidate many have described as underwhelming. And this victory comes at a time when the state is struggling to achieve self-sustainability amid declining FAAC allocations, hardly an ideal moment for stomach infrastructure politics.

Asue Ighodalo's Peccatum Originale
Though a co-founder of Banwo & Ighodalo, one of Nigeria’s premier law firms, it would be nearly impossible to find a candidate more burdened by his principal’s infamy than Asue Ighodalo. Not even the Igbinedion stain on Ize-Iyamu comes close. On paper, his résumé outshines his contenders'—so what went wrong?

During Obaseki’s eight-year tenure as governor, along with his significant achievements in the state’s economy and human capital development, he also (1) emasculated various tout leaders who had a stranglehold on the state, (2) dismantled the Community Youth leaders who had made land acquisition a nightmare, (3) challenged the authority of the state’s paramount traditional ruler, the Oba of Benin, over the return of looted artefacts, even attempting to balkanize the kingdom, (4) completely demolished his longtime ally, Phillip Shuaibu, the erstwhile deputy governor, who he successfully impeached and exiled, (5) fell out with his predecessor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and (6) as Patrick Obahiagbon described, "descended from the sublime to the ridiculous" in handling the Edo State House of Assembly issue, where 14 Members-elect were denied inauguration due to their lack of alignment with the governor’s interests. A victory for Ighodalo would have meant pacifying all the above interests, which seems unlikely.

Zoning
The informal agreement that the next governor should come from the Edo Central senatorial district, or Esan land, in the spirit of fairness was widely accepted. This meant that the Labour Party candidate, Olumide Akpata, stood no chance, despite his party being deeply rooted in the fabric of the state’s society. This zoning agreement also explains why the estranged deputy governor, Phillip Shuaibu, from Edo North, did not garner public sympathy after his fallout with his boss over his bid to succeed him.

Many believe this zoning agreement may have given Matthew Okpebholo from Esan land an easy path to victory based on his heritage. If he does clinch the ticket, he will go down in history as the candidate without a memorable manifesto or defining selling point. Ighodalo, also from Esan land, was not in a better position, as he is widely perceived as not being "homegrown"—if anything, he’s seen as closer to the Lagos politicians that the state has historically despised.

Protest Votes
Royalists, who have always been sceptical of anything associated with Obaseki, would never support anything he endorsed. Edo South voters do not care much for the APC or PDP party structures, recognizing that they are essentially the same. Meanwhile, Etsako voters from Edo North, still reeling from Obaseki’s treatment of Shuaibu, have historically shown a tendency to vote en bloc for the APC. Adams Oshiomhole’s influence in that region remains strong, so they are expected to follow his lead.

Voter apathy also played a significant role, with many individuals feeling disenfranchised after the presidential elections and opting to stay home instead of voting. There are also unconfirmed reports of people being brought in from nearby southwestern states in buses to participate in the elections, though their affiliations remain speculative.

Outlook
There is a muted celebration over the end of Obaseki’s reign of highhandedness. The question now is how quickly Okpebholo can develop a manifesto, and how inclusive it will be. Litigation seems inevitable, and with the lessons learned from the presidential elections, it will take significant judicial maneuvering for any evidence to be disregarded by the courts.

Another issue is administrative continuity—how many ongoing projects will be completed, and how many will be abandoned? More importantly, will the state return to an era of indiscriminate borrowing and debt accumulation?

Religion / Be Discerning by rexbuton: 9:40am On Aug 11
I have seen numerous videos in the past few weeks from pastors condemning other pastors about giving, tithing, God’s blessing and other spiritual topics.

One pastors said that God doesn’t bless people, instead he gives you skill and knowledge to make money. Why do we have to challenge this?
Because they have made the word of God of no effect.
Because they have started with “God doesn’t bless”, tomorrow they will say “God doesn’t heal”, then they will say “God doesn’t give forgiveness “. You see where this is going? It will take us the point in the western world where the devil has given them liberty, but dealing with them through diseases, depression, lack of hope, dysfunctional families - and miracles rarely happen because they have reduced everything to what they can see and touch, and what the doctors can/cannot do.

The spiritual warfare ongoing is not going to come from unbelievers, it won’t come from other religions. It will come from within. Satan would appear as an angel of light. The bible clearly says that in these days, if not that the days were shortened, even God’s elect would almost be deceived.

How can you be discerning?
If Jesus was on earth, and they told him that a pastor was preaching and taxing people, what would he do? Would he set his ring light and start calling the pastor fake?
Would Jesus describe a song that was ministered unto God, leading to reconciliation and salvation, as unscriptural?

I would remind you quickly of the parable of the tares.
A farmer sowed wheat seed. In the morning, his servants noticed that weed was growing amongst the seed. And the man said, “an ENEMY has done this”. He told his servants, don’t uproot them yet, let them grow together, because if you try to remove them now, you will uproot the wheat too.
When the wheat is mature, we will remove the tarted first, burn them, then harvest the wheat afterwards. Amen.

When John told Jesus that they saw a random man casting out demons in the name of Jesus, and they tried to stop him because he was not one of the disciples.
Jesus said “don’t stop him, because if you are using the name of Jesus to do mighty works, you cannot condemn Jesus. He that is not against us is for us”.

The only thing that Jesus cares about his that his name and the gospel is preached. Give people the chance to hear about him, he can take care of other issues and inconsistencies.
Even Jesus said that many fake pastors are using his name to cast out demons genuinely. They won’t enter heaven. Leave them alone. Focus on getting as many people as possible into churches to hear God’s word.

Be discerning.

Good observation my man.
I have been thinking of what will become of Nigeria in about fifty years to come. We are fast losing standards. I was in a church programme yesterday, of course, a pentecostal church, I heard much of noise from the choir. People were jumping and dancing joyfully. It dawn on me, where were the parts rendered by our Orthodox churches? All gone!
In my school those days, if anyone made a grammatical mistake, we. Would echo, ' I dodge the bullet ' grin Today, I am struggling to correct my undergraduate children to write good English.
Our artisans have lost the standards the colonial masters left behind. Houses are collapsing everywhere. Good artisans are no longer available. Youths are not ready to learn anymore.
I even learned that mercenaries are helping undergraduates with their assignments and term papers and projects.

Whereas, good standards are the bedrock of the development of any nation, I think we are losing everything.

I did not want to dwell on Christianity, because there is an ongoing antichrist movement in the social media space, it’s been ongoing for weeks and influencers/social media outlets are giving it traction. It bothers me, in your case, you saw youth in church, what I see, are youth on the internet who blaspheme God, say all manner of profanities, saying there is no heaven/hell , no powers etc But these people go to herbalists for fetishes they use for fraud, or for attracting men. Thus they deceive the gullible.

We have reached a point where people worship money, they focus on the end and not the means. So there is no point learning a skill patiently.
Why should I learn a trade for 3 whole years, while I can get a rich man who would fund my lifestyle? When I can get a cheap laptop, do occultism and get money raining down on me? And society would idolise and emulate me, the police will protect me, traditional rulers will dignify me, politicians and captains of industry will identify with me. So, why should I wear dirty overalls for 3 years in learning to be a mechanic??

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Foreign Affairs / The Future Of The UK Is ‘coloured’ by rexbuton: 8:41am On Jul 18
Latest figures have revealed that fewer young persons in the UK are applying for University places.

Ucas made the announcement as its updated figures showed a drop in undergraduate applications by sixth formers in England and Wales for the second year in a row.
Just 42.7% of 18-year-olds in England applied for a place by June this year, compared with 44.9% in 2022, as universities continue to be concerned about lower student numbers harming their financial position.

With the tighter visa restrictions on international students, it is obvious that a significant number of universities world be insolvent in the next few years if the trend continues.
Another uncomfortable statistic, according to insiders, shows that up to 72% of applications are from students who identify as having non-white backgrounds.

In Wales, applications fell from 38.1% in 2022 to 33.8% this year, the lowest percentage in 15 years.
Amanda Wilkinson, the director of Universities Wales, said: “We now have the lowest proportion of 18-year-olds applying for university in the UK, with the gap between Wales and the UK wider than at any point in modern history. This drop has long-term implications for Wales. The industries that will drive our economic growth in the decades to come rely heavily on graduates.

With the ascent of online trading at the expense of the high street, traditional jobs which absorbed school leavers may “just not be there” in the next decade, with policymakers concerned about the potential for racial wealth disparity in a few years.

This is a meaningful thread to start the day with, though it would take more than four paragraphs to fix the decay in written English amongst Nigerians today.

I am even more concerned about the decline in individual intelligence amongst young people. Youth are afraid to examine evidence and analyse issues logically, instead, they outsource intelligence to ‘influencers’ , many of whom are school dropouts, jesters and people who cannot hold a conversation in real life.
I saw comments on Instablog 10 minutes after the news of Trump’s shooting was reported, and all the comments were “it’s a skit’’.
Until a few years ago, Nigerians were known to be the smartest people in the world, and that is why the smears of fraud, corruption, trafficking etc do not stick on us when we excel internationally. But if with the above, we now have a new generation of Nigerians with the collective intelligence of sea sponges, then we are in trouble.

No experience, no faith, no morals, no grammar, no brakes, no gear, no sense!

And In the latter times, some will refuse to endure sound doctrine.

Religion / Prepare For The End -phase 1 - Donald Trump Shooting by rexbuton: 10:30am On Jul 14
In the coming months, I will be updating this thread as we enter the end of the times as prophesied in Daniel, Zechariah and Revelation.
I woke up at 2am, and the first thing I saw on the internet was Trump bleeding from his ear, and immediately Rev 13.3 flashed in my head.
As Christians, we have to be vigilant, watch and pray.

Revelation 13.3
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Religion / Why prayer is necessary by rexbuton: 9:19am On Jul 14
1. Man - yourself, myself, are made up of body, soul and spirit. For you to reach your potential, all three must be in optimum condition.

1 Thess 5.23
You don’t need anyone to tell you that your body needs food, water, sleep, exercise, clothing, bath etc
You don’t need anyone to tell you to listen to music, meditate, and do other things you enjoy to recharge your mind when you’re feeling low.
So why do you need anyone to tell you to pray, to recharge your spirit?? When you focus on the first two and neglect the last, you still feel empty.
Don’t be deceived, something must be connected to your spirit. It’s God or Satan. It must be one, it is impossible to have nothing connected to your spirit.

2. Human wisdom, ability, resources are limited.

There are times when we get to our limit. When you’ve done your best but it’s not enough. It can be in career, health, child upbringing, immigration plans, spiritual life, finances. No one can help you, that’s where God steps in.
The story of Steve Jobs comes to mind - brilliant, renown, wealthy, had all human resources at his disposal, but none was enough to prevent death in his prime. Even more painful that he knew death was coming, and could do nothing. That’s why the bible says “the arm of flesh shall fail”.
A common theme in most medical textbooks is the sentence "the pathophysiology of XYZ condition/disease is poorly understood". Science makes assumptions and reverses itself many times, but you have access to God who knows all, understands all, and can go over and beyond.
You have a God who doesn't reverse himself.

Daniel 2.17-18
17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said: “Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with him.

Eph 3.20
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Mt 19.26
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible

Jer 32.17, 27
17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
27 “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

3. Life is full of mysteries and hidden secrets that can be unveiled and dissolved at the place of prayer.

Imagine a young girl getting married as a virgin, no prior intercourse, no prior infections, 2 years into the marriage, she still can’t get pregnant because of what the doctors have called blocked fallopian tubes. Is that not mysterious?
A family of 5 girls, none married. One gets married, few months later, husband dies. Is that mysterious or not? Or is it bad character that killed the husband too?

Someone reading this, every time you apply for something, just before it’s your turn, they announce that it’s finished. If you buy something new, or something you like, within a few days, something happens to it . You buy a new shirt you like, a nail often rips a small tear in it, or an indelible stain finds its way onto the cloth. You buy a new movie, just before you get home, transformer go blow. You are walking in the middle of the street, in broad daylight, 1pm, middle of a wide busy road where people have been passing since morning, and suddenly you can feel cobwebs over your face. Is that normal to you?? Are these normal
Just before you receive something or go for an interview, you have a dream where you are having šex, next day you encounter bad luck. Even worse is when I hear about people who have bad dreams, but they can never remember their dreams. These are so common these days amongst people, they are mysteries. Prayer dissolves these mysteries.

Jer 3.33
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Dan 2.18
18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

1 Cor 14.2
NKJV For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

I ave noticed that the Ilaje, Owo, Ikale and to certain extents, the Idanre, Ondo and Ekiti dialects are infacts very very similar.
with Ilaje-Owo being most similar even though miles apart.

* These dialects have the presence of the fricatives
"Gh"...... which has been condensed to just 'W" in standard Yoruba
"Gw", "Kh",

* Words beginning with "U" which in standard yoruba would be an "I" like:
Ule - Ile, Isu - Usu, Use - Ise, Ugbo - Igbo, Etc

* Use variants of Dede, Kete and Gede to refer to an entirety ... like
Aghan oma Ilaje Dede (All the Ilaje children) , Oma Ekiti Kete (All Ekiti children) , Oma Ogho gede (All Owo children) Etc

* All have slower and more "melancholic" / "melodic" forms or kinds of music which involves a slow chanting, and calculated step orientated movement like the Binis-- with rhythmic swaying of the body from side to side, and graceful leg movements.

It is said that these South-Eastern dialects, are the most original form of Yoruba.... not the Oyo influenced generality that we all speak today.

And Et cettera.

Scholes you are aware that the fricatives gh, kh, gw, are standard bini consonants?
I was brought to this thread, because I was listening to random Nigerian songs, and a song came up which sounded like garbled Edo music, and I later found out it was an ilaje song. Looking at their cultural attire as in the video above, it is safe to assume that their origin is closer to Benin than Ife

Religion / Can/will/should You Submit To Jesus ? by rexbuton: 9:29pm On May 19
Beloved friends and seekers of truth,

Can you submit to Jesus?

submit
/səbˈmɪt/
verb
1.
accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person.
"the original settlers were forced to submit to Bulgarian rule"

Can you submit to Jesus rules applying in and over your life? Taking away your independence? or is that too much?

a few minutes ago, I stumbled upon an article that stirred my spirit. It was from the BBC, an institution that stands as a vanguard of anti-Christian sentiment. This article was about christening and naming ceremonies in the UK.

In their worldly wisdom, they testified that non-Christians and atheists are having their children baptized and christened in churches just to secure spots in already oversubscribed Christian schools. This is true, but it also raises the question of why atheists who are desperately antichrist, want their children to attend Christian schools. Are secular schools not good enough? And why is the BBC testifying?

But what truly troubled me was the report that the Church of England is considering modifying its baptismal language. The powerful, soul-searching question, "Do you submit to Jesus?" is now seen as too inquisitorial or strongly worded. I will not discuss the doctrines of the Church of England.
But I will ask you the same question, ''Do you submit to Jesus?'' Are you also threatened by the question?

Christianity means total submission to Jesus as Lord, and Saviour, to surrender; to give him all as he gave all on the cross, surrendering your time, skill, attention, influence, resources, and everything you have for his will and glory. Surrender is a stronger word than submit, yet it doesn't describe accurately enough our total acquiescence to Jesus.

Here are more synonyms for surrender;
give in, give (oneself) up, yield, concede, submit, climb down, give way, defer, acquiesce, back down, cave in, relent, succumb, crumble, be beaten, be overcome, be overwhelmed, lay down one's arms, raise/show the white flag, throw in the towel/sponge, accept defeat, concede defeat, give up, relinquish, renounce, forgo, forswear, cede, abdicate, waive, forfeit, sacrifice, hand over, turn over, deliver (up), yield (up), capitulate

surrender
/səˈrɛndə/
verb
1.
stop resisting to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority.
"over 140 rebels surrendered to the authorities"
2.
give up or hand over (a person, right, or possession), typically on compulsion or demand.
"in 1815 Denmark surrendered Norway to Sweden"

As you can see, ''surrender'' means to stop resisting an enemy and submit to their authority. The bible clearly says that we as sinners are enemies of God.
Colossians 1.21-22
21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. 22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

This is a time for us to stand firm in our faith and proclaim the truth boldly. For it is written, "Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven" (Matthew 10:32).

Luke 14:33: “Any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.”

Matthew 10:37: “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”

Matthew 22:37: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Philippians 3:7–8: “Whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake, I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.”

How do you submit/surrender?
1. Confessing the authority of Jesus aloud and believing it
Romans 10.9
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

2. Confessing and forsaking sins in prayer.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

Isaiah 1.18
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Psalm 32:5
Then I acknowledged my sin to you; and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin.

3. Guarding your thoughts and what you see/hear
This is an important step, you must avoid certain things, sit down, and write a list of people you spend time talking to, and things you spend time on. People and things that draw you back to where you don't want to be, have to be deleted and blocked from your life.
It is better to offend them than offend God and your destiny.

Matthew 15:17-19
“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

1 Corinthians 15.33
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Contemporary English Version:
Don't fool yourselves. Bad friends will destroy you.

Prov 13:20
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.

4. Daily prayer in faith, word study and meditation.
A bible verse a day is better than none. If you do not have a hardcover bible, you could get one from a bible believing church around you. Or you could download Bible offline app, I personally use the one by Mr Rocco on Appstore or Google Playstore, it is lightweight, doesn't need the internet and reminds you during the day to take some time off to pray or sends you a bible verse as a notification.
Open your bible, ask God to reveal himself to you, read a verse or chapter, study it, memorize a verse and say it aloud all day.

Joshua 1.8
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

5. Ask God for wisdom for life - your job, health, family, education, marriage, finances, leisure, even apparently trivial things like shopping, deciding on which bus to take, what shirt to wear etc. No question is too trivial to ask your father.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight

James 1.5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Jesus is waiting for you. Shalom.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Spoken like one who is merely ignorant in his own religion! undecided
Scenario 1: Numerous examples exist of people who never tithed even once being successfully and remaining so even until their deaths
Scenario 2: You have the handful of religious cases who claim to be tithers who claim to have been successful as a result of their tithing
Scenario 3: You have numerous examples however of religious people remaining poor even after tithing for many years, some for more than a generation

Only a religious man would conclude even then that his tithing is a sure way to success... 🤣🤣🤣

You carry the matter for head like world cup 😂😂😂😂😂

I wan Dey pay. You no pay. Why the wahala?
I follow bible and pastor, you no follow? Why the wahala?
I no force you, I no complain give you , I no beg you, why you come Dey cry under my testimony? You be devil?

You simply don't know what is working for you. You may as well say it's the fact that you eat rice often that is working for you. Or maybe because you board bikes often . Ignorance is healthy to the ignorant

Me too o. It appears I don’t know what’s working for me, but do I tithe? Yes. Do I want to find out if it’s working or not? Not at all

Who are those people? Christians or ancient isrealites?

Are Christians entitled to the blessings of Abraham?

Thank you sir for answering my question. You are right. Internet today is a chea way to do the work of evangelism. Every christian should show love by helping the needy around them. Is that not better than tithing?

Most of the unsaved cannot relate to messages on the internet for various reasons - language, internet literacy, lack of time to come on the internet, more pressing physical needs, and oversaturation .

Abel Damina has debunked all these lies you put up there

I listed 7 points, which of them did Pastor Damina debunk specifically?

There is no such thing as kingdom wealth. God gives to all without finding fault- James 1:5.
The reason people are impoverished is as a result of indolence, environmental factors, and spiritual factors too.
Have you not seen people who pay tithes often, lead a life of righteousness, work hard, free from foundational problems of poverty but still yet struggle financially?

The verse you quoted doesn’t say that. It says God gives WISDOM to all, without finding fault. Not wealth.

@ poster, pls pardon me to ask you this? 1. How do the apostles use the donations they received in the acts of apostles?
2. Why do this generation of pastors focus on building mighty cathedral, enjoying luxuries, travelling here and there while members have no basic needs (food, cloth, shelther)

Distribution for the needs of the poor and the church.
Today’s focus on building large cathedrals at the expense of the sheep is unscriptural. But it takes nothing away from the point that God’s work MUST be run with the resources he has given us.
The message is for God’s children though.

You guys need to shush about this kingdom wealth business for once and refocus on restoring the sheeple back to righteousness and Godly living! For the fast almost 20_25 years that the focus of preaching changed from 'where will you spend eternity ' to 'acquiring kingdom wealth ' Christians have become poorer both morally, materially and spiritually more than before! Our nation is in shambles, with every corner being overun by the heathen and yet you will not see that God only blesses a holy and sanctified people... you that posted this, how rich are you? God is not a get rich quick formula! He said "seek first my kingdom and its righteousness and every other thing will be added to you". You coming to God because you want money or attending church because you want breakthrough, you are just deceiving yourself because God is not your local pastor that's just marking attendance. He sees your heart and the motive therein... you will receive nothing!

Personally, I think tithing as done in today's church is optional. If you insist on paying tithe, since you are in the diaspora, can't your employer deduct tithe from your tax as charity donations and send it to your church?

We need to do a thread about this. Most people are not aware

I think that the fact that you are tithing should be a ground for divorce. As a supposed leader of a household, your wife has more common sense than you.

So you are saying that Christians are still under the mosaic law right?

What modifications did Jesus make on tithe?

What I have stated above in several posts is that Tithing predates Mosaic law

Not gambling. A bank reward for people with deposits, like a lottery system
