I disagree with your assertion. The country is for the religious and non religious alike. The government is a secular entity. There is no provision in the constitution, that says citizens must affiliate with any religion. That our politicians misappropriates our commonwealth to court favors from religion organizations by illegally sponsoring pilgrimages does not make us a religious nation.
The none dominant religions (none Christian and Muslim) citizens are being cheated out of these unconstitutional largesse given to these scandalous cults annually.

A party have laws and bye_laws.
It does have right to accept or not accept a citizen membership due to the person attribute. Which could be legal, moral or otherwise, that a party knows will be detrimental to the party cohesion.
Similarly, is not necessary for a citizen to be members of any political party to get the benefits of democracy. Independent citizens are just as eligible as parties affiliate to exercise their constitutional rights to vote and be voted for. In mature political democratic societies, independent citizens are often the swing voters that are highly coveted during elections to give the winning advantage to particular deserving party.

Good move by APC. PDP should note those ingrate band wagon chasers and expell them from their party.parties membership is not a prerequisite for citizens democratic government participation. Independent and non party affiliated are not precluded from exercising their electoral civil obligations.Quality, disciplined and Manageable membership roll should be preferable to rowdy quantity parasites and leeches with only selfish aims and betrayal.
