Learn something from this educative discussion.
Zik is the author of Nigeria intractable problems of today. His unitary government of "one Nigeria", with ambition that him, and his igbo pioneers as pioneering national leaders ended up parcelling and bundling up the nation for the Hausa/fulani today.
Leant earlier that ironsi dictatorship actualized the unitary government system. Never knew it was the brain child of Zik. Such is life. We were given a befitting system of government by the colonial power. Lost due to greed.

Newshem or whoever made this report should note "inmates" is only used for people in a penal reformation institute like prisons and jails. In this circumstances "residents" is the proper term.

Don't mind him. He is a trouble maker. He purposely used that acronym for this purpose. Gold digger looking for payday. Bet You've not heard the last of him.
With a conspicuous "isi" that other could see, and probably praying silently or noisely as if that was his last before he meet his maker. Someone close by who is not ready yet for his maker, is certainly justified to ask questions and be alarmed.

Difference in cultural and social orientations to our northern compatriots doesn't mean their eyes are not opened. Think they're open to different social circumstances conditioned primarily by their religion.

Manlado:
Who is an investor ?
Someone who put is money where his best interests are better served.
So an investor does no care about Nigeria and so long as the majority of those investments in a stock market are influenced by these sort of men, they would move the money in and out as they like.
Politicking can be a factor , we could have what is good on the short or long run or both, it could be bad as well.
Inveriably success is by no means to be judged by the present situation. For instance, the American boom of the 70s is largely seen as the problem of running the American society into is present debt profile which is now to be reversed if it can be helped.
That is, what was a good choice can now be seen otherwise.
Which brings me to our national anthem.
'Guide Our leaders right, help our youth the truth to know'
Remember all things are never equal, something we hope for in economics but never get!
Don't know where you get your facts. At the end of the1970s president Carter operated and handed over a balanced budget to Reagan. Reagan leftover $4 trillions budget deficits. And after Bush Sr. total deficits amounted to $4.1 trillions. President Clinton with the Dot Com, and information super highway launch and booms paid off all previous deficits And handed over $.5 trillions surplus to Bush jr. All the existing deficits that Obama had made substantial inroads paying were generated by Bush Jr.

Pragmatic leaders like former cbn governor emir Lamindo Sanusi or Fashola would have been better fit for this time of our history. The president should tap into these people economics know-how to propel the nation through this difficult time.

seunt4ut:
They probably just realize the figure of unemployed and the total cost of 5k per month. Imagine 5k multiply 20m unemployed that's 100b Naira. Over 1trillion Naira per annum
The cost may be high. If well planned and executed, the project can yield more than the cost. That's it can self sustain. Read "Work Projects Authority" [WPA] used by Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt of USA in 1933 during the great depression. More than 50% lost jobs. More others were underemployed. Lots of what the work projects created are still lasting till today. National parks and natural monuments preservations. The nation makes money from visitors till now. Tennesse valley authority.
And many, many more that it will take volume of book to list.
PoliticsRe: Buhari: N5000 Payment To Unemployed Youth Is Not My Priority by rexzqcom(m): 11:54am On Feb 28, 2016
YaksonFCA:
This decision is anticipated considering the dwindling revenue from international market. Does it makes any
economic sense paying N5k stipend to unemployed youth when at least 2/3 of the 36 State Government
cannot even pay staff salaries? The unavailability of a reliable unemployment database has made the
implementation of that programme extremely difficult if not practically impossible.
Implementation of this would have provided opportunity for the authorities to develop a working process database of the unemployed. Especially if done decentralised, that is by local governments, then states and federal aggregation. Things like national identities, banking biometric datas and possibly registered phone Sims can be combined for identities validations.
Even the stipends don't need to be wholely free. Communities duties can be arranged for once or twice monthly engagements to earn the stipends. More important, data for further and future mobilisations will Be gathered.

The man not get respect for naija.
Na only wen e dey abroad with all the foreign press, he can't help but talk wen questioned. How many times has he held reasonable exhaustive interactive town-hall style press conferences to brainstorm with Nigerians about intended strategies to achieve his national goals?
He do love and mean well for the country. But ill prepared for modern Nigeria.

Is better late than never. Our president had made his international rounds and probably now dawn on him, that none of those rich countries he highly regarded are going to open their treasuries and give Nigeria billions or trillions of dollars to rejuvenate our economy. Except we have something or more of the value to offer them in return. The solutions to our problems must begin at home. The president need to appeal, and motivate us toward United focus for the lights at the end of the tunnel. Enough of his condescendant in-chief. We need more of his appeasant (appeaser) in-chief.

I Think you will have more brain being a KOWA member.

God Bless Nigeria
For details and answers to your questions, go to CNN website and search the topic as outlined above.
Hints; officials in charge of the camps are doing the sellings. They even bargain the prices. Under the guise of donations. They finally agreed to sell two young female children to CNN undercover agents for $500, after bargaining from $100 each.

One man's rejection of appointment is another man's prayer request.

grin grin
One man's rejection of appointment, is another man's prayer for avenue to loots answered. political appointments is not a reward. Is a call to sacrifices from yourself to the nation. Buhari must learn he is not a military dictator. He can't command people to duty with military alacrity. Not all noble people are ready and willing to sacrifices off themselves. Consultations, conscents and descents are parts of the hallmarks of democracy.

Same abuses of nannies, housegirls, house boys, other domestic helpers and contract laborers by so called rich Nigerians right now. They use people and refuses to pay. Or pay less than initially agreed.
Other than physical and emotional abuses, this victim found out no money were being paid into her Nigeria account as agreed.
Meanwhile, they are being paid by us government to take care of their five adopted children. The children are not their natural births children. They are adopted. When you adopt children, especially multiple times as they are, social institutions monitors the household to acertain the well beings of the children. They use neighbors and utilities maintenance people to spie on the household.

We have case where group of corrupt people got swept out, and fresh, lean, hungrier and greedier new set moved in. Soldiers go, soldiers come. Corruptions continues. Only the faces of the thieves change. Their greedy and heartless intentions remains the same.

Just a play on words difference It seems to me.
Calling the costs of borrowings "rents" instead of "interests". From the details revealed so far, is like discounted bonds and certificates. You deduct the discounted rates or rental rate as In sukuk case upfront from the principles amount loaned out. Then borrower pays par value/face value of the note as issued at maturity.

I did not expect them to state their reasons in clear terms. No-one does that!

Remember, this is a leaked report of ministers disagreeing with their president on a foreign mission. Do you know the degree of courage demanded, and the sensitivity of the issues of contention for such a thing to happen?
Where have you ever heard a thing like this in the world?

The ministers' argument bothers on issues of national interest. Think about that.
Hope the national assemblies are required to debate the pros and cons of bilateral agreement and treaties with other nations before rectification as lawful agreement. They should vote down any, and all unbalanced agreements.
Agreement is an issues of give and take.
Sahara reporters did poor job about what Nigeria will give. Only reported what nigeria will get. The Oluwole certificated-one think he is still a dictator, his intended give away to Dubai for support in our corruptions prosecutions considerations will be unveiled when the issue get to house of congress/assembly.
Think the ministers are trying to save themselves from later embarrassments like the budget fiascos.
