Nigerian songstress, Niniola didn’t have a good time at the just concluded Headies Award Show which held on May 5th, 2018 where she gave a performance that was next to poor and unimpressive coming from a singer of her caliber.

But she’s stated the reason behind her poor performance at the show, saying she was already so exhausted and had made it clear to the organizers that she wasn’t going to perform. However, they called her up to sing. On the issue, she said: “I had flown in from Owerri after a performance to grace the Award event. Unfortunately, I couldn’t rehearse with them for the Show. I informed the organizers that I would not be performing as I am very particular about my Brand and the performance delivery I give to my friends and supporters that have helped my career to the point that it is today.”

“I was informed that the song would be played and dancers would have their set to it. It was, however, to my greatest surprise that the Host called my name for the performance. Here I was, not dressed for a performance, stunned, dazed and in disarray. If I refused to respond to the announcement, I would come off as being arrogant and badly behaved.”

It was an Early Christmas groove for residents in Mpumalanga, South Africa, when a truck load of alcohol had an accident.

The Special Task Force (STF), Mohali, have arrested two Nigerian couple with 50 grams of heroin, 50-gram cocaine and Rs 40,000 drug money.

The accused have been identified as Jude Justin and his partner Raita. Rajinder Singh Sohal, SP, STF, Mohali unit, said besides contraband and drug money, the police also recovered a weighing scale and 10 polythene packets from their possession.

The police said during interrogation, the duo revealed that they procured narcotics from Delhi and supplied them to customers and college students in Mohali.

STF sleuths said the accused could not produce any valid visa, passport or supporting documents for their stay in India. An STF official said the duo were ‘couriers’, who were paid for each delivery to supply drugs in Chandigarh, Mohali and Kharar. Tribuneindia

Award-winning singer, Adele, who turned 30 over the weekend hosted a lavish Titanic-themed birthday party for her friends and family in Beverly Hills.

The British singer was dressed as Kate Winslet's iconic character Rose from James Cameron's epic 1997 disaster movie for the star-studded costume bash.

In series of black and white images shared from the party, Adele is seen in one of the photos showing her moves on the dancefloor while wearing a life jacket.

The star-studded bash was attended by the likes of Alan Carr, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Mark Ronson, Zane Lowe and Aaron Paul among others.

The Nigerian police today declared four of the gangsters who participated in the bloody bank robbery incidents in Offa on 4 April wanted. .

Three suspects identified as Balogun Lukman, Sunday Kayode and Atanda Abiodun, have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly vandalising the mast of a telecommunications company, MTN, at Ode-Remo, in the Remo North Local Government Area of the state.

A patrol team of the Ishara division of the command led by the Divisional Police Officer, Yusuf Taiwo, reportedly arrested the suspects on Friday, April 27, 2018. According to the State Police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the telecoms mast vandals who came in a blue Ford bus, with the number plate NRK 842 XA, were sighted at the mast site around 2am with the vandalised parts of the mast, including three heavy duty batteries and cutters.

However the suspects who sighted the policemen took to their heels, but were given a hot chase which led to their arrest. Oyeyemi further added that while three were arrested, two escaped as the State Police Commissioner ordered a full scale investigation.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered a full scale investigation into the case. He has asked that the two fleeing suspects be apprehended,” he added.

Few months ago, the Ogun State Police Command also arrested eight suspects who specialise in vandalising telecommunication masts. The suspects were identified as : Tunde Adebayo, Adewole Saheed, Chinedu Eze, Isaac Dele and Henpery Evans. Others are: Emmanuel Otulo, Olaniyan Olayinka and Jimoh Idowu.

They were arrested on a tip off by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Owode Egba, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Sheu Alao.

The Policeman was told that some men in a Ford bus with registration number EPE 613DJ stormed the MTN mast located at Gbalefu village Ajebo, vandalized it and were about zooming off with valuable equipment. Upon the information, the DPO led his men to the scene where the suspects were rounded up.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted Senator Peter Nwaoboshi bail. Nwaoboshi was arrested last week by the EFCC over N805 million fraud. He is alleged to have sold a property in Lagos that belongs to the Delta state government.

He was granted bail on self recognition.

Troops of the 177 Guards Battalion of the Nigerian Army have arrested five suspected militias at Ugyi town in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.

According to a statement issued by Brig.-Gen Texas Chukwu, army spokesman, the troops also recovered some arms from the militias during a raid. Chukwu also said the troops recovered one Daihatsu SUV jeep, seven motorcycles, six dane guns and one locally made revolver pistol.

Other items are four 9mm rounds of ammunition and a cartridge, twenty six daggers and a list containing phone numbers, one sword and forty pieces of customised regalia.

According to reports, Monica Osagie, the Obafemi Awolowo University student who accused Prof. Richard Akindele, of demanding s*x from her to upgrade her mark scored 45 in the course which Akindele taught her and not 33 that the lecturer claimed that she scored.

The revelation was made after she appeared before the committee set up by the university to investigate the scandal.

According to Punch, Osagie, who was dressed in an ash colour T-shirt and jeans, and the Executive Director of WARD-C, Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, as well as another lawyer from the centre attended the meeting.

After the meeting which lasted for about four hours, Osagie, emerged with the two lawyers.

Sandwiched between the two female lawyers, Osagie walked quickly into a waiting sport utility vehicle outside the gate and refused to speak to journalists.

However, Akiyode-Afolabi, protested against the closed-door policy of the investigative committee, saying officials of the National Human Rights Commission ought to have been allowed to be part of the proceedings.

While narrating what happened during the meeting to journalists, Akiyode-Afolabi said Osagie scored 45 in the course which Akindele taught her and not 33 that the lecturer claimed that she scored.

Akiyode-Afolabi said, “The meeting was a fact finding one and they told us that they had not got to the level of legal representation: Because of that, we were there as observers.

“The other lecturer also brought a lawyer, but the committee refused to allow him (lawyer) inside. So, lawyers were not allowed to appear as legal representation, but we were allowed to observe the proceedings.

“The committee members asked her ( Osagie) to narrate her ordeal with the professor which she did. She explained what happened and she didn’t deny the recording (leaked telephone conversation).

“She affirmed that the recording took place and she justified why she resorted to self-help because there was no effective support coming from the university.

“The incident happened towards the end of last year (2017). It was not two years ago. She has completed her programme. She passed the course that we are talking about. She didn’t fail.

“The school reaffirmed that she passed and that she scored 45 and not 33; and the man (prof.) did not give her mark. Apparently the man was using the 33 as a bait to get her.

“She talked about her understanding of what happened. She talked about the fact that she is a good student and that she passed all her courses. That she shouldn’t have failed the course and that she checked and found out that she passed and that the 33 the man talked about must have been his (lecturer) imagination.

“It must also have been a way of negotiating with her to get her to bow to his wish, which was the reason she recorded the conversation.”

Asked if the professor eventually had his way with Osagie, the lawyer said her client did not succumb to the alleged pressure from Akindele to have s*x with him.

“I can categorically say that there was no sexual relationship between her and the man.

“I am not satisfied with the closed-door policy. I didn’t know the reason why the officials of the National Human Rights Commission were not allowed in to be part of the proceeding. We felt they should allow them but they said they were not allowed in because the other man came with a lawyer and that the lawyer was just an observer.

“As far as we are concerned, if they need more evidence, Monica Osagie is ready to give them. This case is not about her alone, but about other students out there who are being assaulted and harassed by lecturers.”

The lawyer said the centre hoped that whatever decision the university arrived at would serve as a deterrent to other lecturers who were in the habit of harassing and exploiting female students.

Osagie came into public notice after a telephone conversation was leaked on the Internet, during which the lecturer demanded s*x before he would upgrade her mark from 33 to a pass mark.

The university set up a committee to investigate the issue and the committee established a prima facie case against the lecturer, who was subsequently suspended indefinitely by the OAU based on the interim report of the panel.

A man has died in a car accident which occurred on Sunday evening in Delta state.

The man was driving a private Toyota Corolla when it crashed somewhere between Urhonigbe and Obiaruku in Ukwuani local government area of Delta state.

The Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his wife, Betty are celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary.

The couple met in Enugu when Betty, then a fresh graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, was working with Federal department of fisheries while Rotimi was serving as a Corps member there.

They got married on April 18th, 1981. The marriage is blessed with four children and three grandchildren.

OAP Freeze has published a video where he outlined all the reasons why Pastor E. A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, will not make heaven.

Freeze's post is in reaction to Pastor Adeboye's message, which recently went viral, where he told pastors of his church to warn parishioners that anyone who doesn't pay tithe will not make heaven.

1. Leading children astray

Quoting Luke 17:1 - 3 Freeze said,

Jesus said to his disciples, 'Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.'

So, watch yourselves. Enoch watch yourself.

2. Turning Stone to bread.

Freeze quoted Matthew 4:3, saying:

The tempter came to him and said, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.

They read their Bible like textbooks but they say I’m the one that reads Bible like text… I read the Bible spiritually and I’ll explain to you.

The stones he was talking about are human beings, not stones. Many times in the Bible stones were actually human beings.

Turning stones to bread is turning human beings to money. If you do this, you cannot make Heaven. Stop turning stones to bread. Jesus rejected the temptation, why are Nigerian GOs falling for this temptation of the devil?

3. Subjecting people to the curse of the law.

Freeze said:

He is subjecting people to the curse of the law by telling them to pay tithe. There is not space for tithing in the grace.

Some people will now come and tell you that tithing was before the law. Oh yes, it was before the law but it was also before the promise and everything before the promise is of no consequence to Christianity.

Our promise with father Abraham started in Genesis 17. In Genesis 16, Abraham had Ishmael. In Genesis 17, when he was 99, Abraham was promised of Issac and his name was changed from Abram to Abraham.

So, whatever Abraham did as Abram in Genesis 14, when he gave tithe to Melchizedek is of no consequence to Christianity.

4. Another reason why Freeze believes Adeboye won't make heaven is that he is a teacher of the law.

Mathew 23:13 and verse 15 proves that anyone who teaches the law is not going to heaven.
