Alhaja Sidikat Yekini aged mother of late Super Eagles striker, Rashidi Yekini now sells bread to survive in Ira Town in Kwara State of Nigeria, four years after the death of his son.

SRSport.com gathered from a source in Kwara State who revealed that life has been pretty difficult for the Yekini’s family since the passing of the former African football king. It was also gathered that Alhaja Sidikat cried out for help few months ago, after revealing that ‘life has been difficult for her’ since the passing of her son.

“My son has served this country, and I want the government and other people to come to our aid because It would not be good for me to die in this situation,” she pleaded.

Yekini scored 37 goals in 58 appearances for the Super Eagles and died in May 2012 at the age of 48. He remains the highest goal scorer for the Super Eagles with 37 goals and represented Nigeria in five major tournaments, including two FIFA World Cup competitions in USA ‘94 and France ‘98 respectively.

A group called West Africa State League recently accused popular singer Peter Okoye of defrauding them. According to the public announcement made, the singer whose stage name is Mr P allegedly failed to honour an event he was paid for. This event was the inauguration ceremony of West Africa State League organised by the West Africa Youth Support Development Forum in partnership with West Africa Youth Council.

According to the group, they paid the singer a sum of N2.8 million but he did not turn up for the occasion which was held at Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Delta. This group shared screenshots of the money which was supposedly paid to Peter Okoye. The photos showed that the payment was made in instalments.

Also, screenshots of the legal letter sent to Peter Okoye were also shared. The group expressed disappointment in Peter. The tail end of their caption read thus: "This is very bad, that the person we the youths are looking up to is the one who failed us."

Liverpool winger Bobby Adekanye has announced that he will leave the club in the summer when his contract expires, having rejected a new offer from the Premier League leaders.

The 20-year-old was born in Ibadan, Nigeria and moved to the Netherlands at the age of four. He started his youth career with Ajax before signing for Barcelona in 2011.

Adekanye spent a season on loan with PSV Eindhoven during the 2014/15 campaign before signing for Liverpool in 2015.

Adekanye is a regular in ​Liverpool's Under-23 and Under-19 teams but has been unable to break into the first-team squad.

He was left out of Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA despite the fact that several first-team players were absent as they were given time off after the World Cup. He cited this as one of the reasons why he rejected a three-year contract that the club offered him.

"That didn't happen in the end. That is disappointing and it has contributed to the fact that I do not want to renew my contract," Adekanye told Dutch publication Voetbalzone.

"If they promise such things and it doesn't happen, I don't know what will happen if I sign for three years."

The youngster said that this forced him to lose trust in how much the club valued him. He added: "That confidence is no longer there, even though I greatly respect the club. They don't just extend for three years so maybe there was schedule behind it. But I no longer have faith in that.

"In terms of money, things are fine but you have nothing if you have no perspective behind it. Money will come later, I now need playing minutes."

Military Commander, Operation Safe Haven, Major General Austin Agundu, has publicly paraded ten criminal suspects, including militia kingpin, Timothy Zakka, for crimes ranging from cattle rustling and terrorizing residents of Plateau and other North Central states since 2001.
One of the suspects, Isa Abubakar, a serving member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), assigned to Ancha Community School in Isukwaito LGA of Abia State, was arrested in possession of 477 sachets of illicit drugs.

Gen. Agundu noted that Isa Abubakar, the drug-peddling Corps member, was arrested in a commercial vehicle en route to Jos, in possession of 477 sachets of flunitrazepam.

He explained that the arrest of Abubakar led to the arrest of Chinedu Egbubuike with 146 sachets of same substance at Saint Murumba in Jos.

Concerted efforts by the Management of the NNPC and security agencies to combat the menace of oil theft and pipeline vandalism received a major boost with the capture of Shuaibu Ogunmola.
He is an alleged notorious oil pipeline kingpin, whose illegal activities through the years, led to loss of millions of litres of products along the Lagos Atlas Cove strip in the strategic System 2B pipeline network.

Shuaibu was captured recently at his luxury hotel in Ilashe, along the Badagry Creek. He had operated a thriving oil theft racket for decades, hacking pipelines.

The Shuaibu-led syndicate executed their illegal trade by digging boles metres away from the corporation’s products pipeline, which essentially serve as storage tanks for products directly siphoned from the lines at a hack point.

These holes which are cast in drums, receive products simultaneously from the labyrinth of pipelines connected to the trunk line directly linked to the ruptured NNPC line.

The products so harvested are later scoped or transferred into jerrycans and drums and are sold to ready buyers who usually throng the beachside.

From that point, the products were shipped to Coutonou which has a firmly established market for smuggled Nigerian fuel.

The suspect was the ultimate godfather of oil thieves in Ilashe and adjoining settlements, where he consigned portions of his territory and offered operating rights to other thieves to operate and bring in returns at agreed rates and terms.

Investigation revealed that the Ilashe pipeline axis have been divided into three ‘oil fields’ by the criminals under the operating titles of Shuaibu Point, Dele Point and Bashiru Point.

OGUN State Governor Ibikunle Amosun disclosed yesterday that some people were labouring to turn President Muhammadu Buhari against him.

He said such scheming would fail.

Amosun vaguely identified people he considered as “foreigners” with intent to enslave Ogun people and their votes as likely suspects in the plot to sway the President against him.

The governor spoke at Kajola ward in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area in continuation of his campaign for Ogun Central Senatorial seat in the February National Assembly election.

He urged the people to vote for President Buhari, saying he has added value to the development of the country and the state in particular.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the tragic truck accident that took the lives of several Nigerians at Iworoko Ekiti in Ekiti State at the weekend.

On behalf of the Federal Government, President Buhari extended sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of victims of the tragedy, which has indeed brought great grief to the local communities.

The President, in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, joined the Ekiti State Government and people in mourning those lost in the accident.

He appreciated the efforts of the State Government in bringing timely succour to the victims in the aftermath of the disaster and assured them of the solidarity of the Federal Government.

Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo has urged the people of Alimosho Local Government to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari, for continuity of good governance.

Osinbajo, along with Governor Akinwumi Ambode and the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress( APC) in Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu appealed to the people to vote the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.

German club Bayern Munich have been hit with a severe blow by UEFA who has banned their superstar Thomas Muller from playing Champions League next two games for the club.

The latest development will be a good news for Premier League giants Liverpool who will face Bayern Munich in the 2018/19 Champions League round of 16 ties. Thomas Muller suffered the consequence of his horror challenge on Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico which also made the referee to send him out in the encounter.
