kingzizzy:Seriously, it's so disheartening. We have our soldiers chasing ipob, chasing Shiite members.. We have our police chasing yahoo boys and arresting innocent protesters. Here in Kano, around Yan kura market, I recently saw a Hilux van of DSS armed with guns in conjunction with KAROTA chasing market women... But when it's time for Thier primary responsibility, you won't see them. |
This country is just doomed. |
How can we have bandits coming from a foreign land to kill our people and walk freely. How come as good citizens, we can't travel our roads at will without the fear of getting kidnapped, and when we come out to protest, the same security agencies who are supposed to protect us will be the ones shooting and arresting us. Let's go our separate ways... So that if in the land of Biafra, we have bandits in our forest causing havoc, we will have the liberty of facing then in our own way. Cos under this one Nigeria, the govt don't want to protect you and when you come out to protect yourself, the govt will get you arrested. So it's obvious the govt are somewhat behind all these killings. One thing I knw for sure is, no matter how divided the Igbo people are, there is no way we will allow armed bandits operate in our land without giving in all that we have to flush then out. As it is now, the only way to save the life of the average Nigerian citizen is to divide this country. Let every region protect it self. |
It seems to me the north don't give a damn about this killings cos they don't speak out much as the southerners do(I stand to be corrected)... And even when you people from the south talk, same northerners will come and start attacking you as it's evidenced in this from where people like A****WA will turn is to IPOD issue. As if it's a crime to cry out against the killings going on in this country. No doubt, every region have its own security challenges, but the type we are experiencing now as a nation can only be stopped when we go our separate ways, cos it's obvious the central government don't what to do anything about it. |
My annoyance even goes to those members of security force who keep quiet and watch as their people are been killed. How can you be a captain, lieutenant, general, in the Nig Army or Air force... How can you be a commissioner of police, deputy commissioner of police, AIG, DIG... and you are from Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Niger, Benue... Then you keep quiet and watch your people getting killed like animals. How can you be a serving minister, senator and rep member and you can use your position to shout on top of voice to ensure that this killings stop. |
Do we really have a president in this country... Do we have a chief of staff who is supposed to be advising the president on issues like this? How about Buratai, Sadiq Abubakar... Where is Yusuf M Bichi, where is Mohammed Adamu...? What are they doing about the insecurity in this nation. Or are they not seeing the news of the daily killings. |
For the first time, am joining Nnamdi K to call this country a zoo. Every day I wake up, the news we hear breaks my heart. For how long are we going to continue like this. For how long before this killings and kidnapping stop. No day will pass by without the news of mass killings or kidnappings hitting the media. We have become so used to such news that we just read and pass without any sympathy. Is that how a country is supposed to be. What did we do to deserve all these. Just this morning, there was a news of a former Nigerian Scrabble player who was killed by kidnappers when he went to pay ransom for his kidnapped cousin. Now this evening there so another news of kidnappers attacking a community. What is happening to our nation. Am forced to believe that all those at the helm of affairs are all together in this.... Cos I don't seem to understand how security in this country keeps going down and nothing meaningful is been done about it. Where is the Nig Army? Where is the Air Force? Where is the Police? Where is DSS? But it's surprising how these security forces attack civilians when ever they come out to protest. |
Kidnapping by these bandits have gone into every forest area we have in Nigeria. And it's obvious that these guys aren't just doing the kidnapping for the sake of money, there could be more sinister motive behind this. All the ransom been collected could be used to get more arms, recruit more members and further advance Thier coverage of Nigeria. I told my friend one time that these bandits could be in the SE in their numbers, but because the East don't have vast forest that is empty, they can't successfully carry out their operations. The earlier the whole of South (irrespective of tribe and religion) unites to tackle this issue, the better for every citizen of this country. |
ABlAstate:See what a fellow igbo man is saying. Tomorrow now you will be shouting Biafra Biafra... When there is no atom of unity among us. |
tegamarro:This doesn't show that your account is been monitored by the guy... When you acct number is entered, such details show. The only thing worng is that the cashier isn't supposed to make such comments. |
Seems like wailers are growing by the day. |
It's only in Nigeria that security forces will receive intelligence of impending attack by criminals but the will not act. But if the masses what to go on a peaceful protest, all our security agencies will be out to stop the protest... |
That Nsikan guy sabi Nairaland well well... NCAN crew and tribalistic warlords. |
The comments I see here.... Smh for Nig |
See intelligent people playing tribalistic and religious sentiment. I want to believe that El-rufai invitation was withdrawn cos of the security situation of the state. (Or there some information that am missing). How come these lawyers are bringing in religion and tribe into these issue. I hope we the southerners are seeing this. The north will always support their person irrespective of how bad he is. I once told someone that if Shekau the leader of Boko haram is to contest the presidential election against a southern candidate, the average northerner will vote for Shekau. Infact, this is a good development. Let the southern lawyers form there own branch. Probably the division of this country will start gradually. |
All we need is peace to reign in our country. Let the average citizen travel along our highways without the fear of been robbed or kidnapped. Let all farmers go to their farm without the fear if been killed by some group of people. Let those who live in villages sleep with their two eyes closed without the fear of bandits ransacking their villages. Let those IDPs go back to their home in North East without the fear of terrorist attacking them. We will get there. |
People are just going "nuts" in this country... |
My crush no dey among the list, I would have written about her. |
Inside life... The young shall grow old... |
tricksters:Sometimes am forced to believe that lots of people on this forum are kids with no brain... |
OYEDIPE:Plz, wch tribe did he insult in that his comment. Cause all he mentioned is zombie... Except there is a tribe called zombie in Nigeria. |
Arrewa:Well, what you said is the truth... The struggle must start from somewhere. |
Arrewa:Lol... That's for those who can ride horses abi, let's just watch and see. Getting rid of the old folks won't be an easy task. The odds is against the youth. The old folks have the money, they control the country's resources and security and to cap it all, they control the youths who are touts and thugs. So getting the task done won't be easy. |
Arrewa:There is something you said which is the reality... The current setting of Nigeria isn't leading us to anywhere. For me, am all out for restructuring. That's the best thing for us, if properly handled. On the get together, we might strt advertising for it, hopefully to use it as new year celebration. |
Arrewa:Arrewa my man... Are you back. I dey always like your comment when it's not about tribalism. One day we go organize Nairaland get together Kano chapter. |
Abiboss:So OP, you are saying that when you buy new boxers, you don't even wash it, you will just wear it. If you schedule is too tight, when ever you are about taking your bath, just try and wash two or three boxers. Do it every day and you will always have clean ones to wear. |
These are the kind of investment we need in Nigeria. If all our politicians that stashed money in foreign countries used some of the money to build food processing plants in Nigeria, things will change for better... Esp now that agriculture is the new "gold mine". |
Lol... Operation hold your sneeze... |
MedicH:That's it. Have you seen or heard miyetti Allah saying anything or reacting to the killings in the north. Even when the protest start across some northern states did u hear anything from miyetti Allah. But wait let an attack happen in the south and there is a back-cry, sharply miyetti Allah will start making noise in the name of statement. All these makes the south feel that the north are behind the attacks. Then when the north gets attacked, the south feels is a north north issue. |
Arrewa:Arrewa my guy... You should learn to be more constructive na. All these bashing of one's tribe is not needed. You should know that there are people whose only work is to troll others and be tribalistic. But that doesn't mean we should dignify them by giving them a response. But the truth is, insecurity is everywhere and for the fact that it's affecting the north today doesn't mean might not affect the south tomorrow. All we seek is solution. And the little we can do it to creat awareness for others to see and not tribalizing the issue. |
Anneka101:Jokes apart... If Nigeria wants to take this bandits heads on... Number to number, personnel to bandits, without the help of air force, then it might take the mobilization of the entire Nigeria Army to be able to face them. The only advantage we have as a nation is the airforce power, without which winning the war against bandits will be difficult. It may surprise you to know that these guys are almost in every state of Nigeria, hiding in forest. If you have any friend who is a mopol, ask him to tell you what happened in one of the villages in Niger state around march this year. Mopols across Nigeria especially from Kano were mobilised for a mission to fish out bandits in one of the villages in Niger state. Few days later, where the mopols camped came under heavy attacksl by these same bandits numbering over 500. The came on bikes, and unleash terror on them and the mopols suffered heavy casualty. I lost about two mopol friends in that attack. Funny enough, the govt nor media didn't talk about it. Every one acted as if all is well. These bandits keeps getting stronger both in terms of weapons and number. Most of the kidnapping and robberies going on on our highways are been perpetrated by them. The proceeds from this evil mission are not used to buy cars, they are not used to buy houses or get married. They are used to buy more weapons and recruit more hands. And with the level of unemployment been faced by the neighboring countries of northern Nigeria, it means enough foot soldiers for them. And despite all these issues, the presidency is still bent on giving visa on arrival to these guys. The presidency can't give a matching order to out their influx in place. Even governor Ganduje have called in the FG to put a ban on movement of herdsmen into Nigeria from other countries. One thing I have noticed is that these bandits are out to wreck havoc on the entire nation. And from the look of things, it's like the will succeed as they are using "divide and fight" method to defeat us. When the attack the north, the south see it as a problem of the north. Then when the attack the south, miyetti Allah will spring up and start defending them. Now the south sees miyetti Allah as a northern body, making it seem as if the north are behind the attack. This is the tool they use to bring division between the north and the south. That way, both region can't present a common front to fight their enemy. |
Emyres:Guy... By 2005 Liverpool weren't playing Thursday night football. Infact they were among the top team in Europe, btw 2005-2010. |
