Politics / Re: #Ekiti Audio Fails Second Greatest Impact In Nailing PDP, Sgt Koli Dupes Apc by richardomoko: 4:57pm On Mar 12, 2015
It's a failed attempt by a failed and confused party.
BERNIMOORE:
An alleged ''untitled audio evidences'' namely 'secret meeting audio' or 'rigging audio' untitled audios at its best

The aim of the audio was to establish a refference point and an avenue to 'shut up' and Targetted at PDP keymen's removal of; Gov Fayose and disqualification of Musiliu Obanikoro among others

Taking into consideration Gov Fayose and Musiliu Obanikoro dennied ever partaking in any rigging, to worsen the case, when i listened to the audio, there was not even a mention of the word 'rig' or 'rigging' throughout the clip and that important exclusion further render the audio clip invalid and without substance of valid evidence apart from forcing 'rigging on the tape through sentimental opinion' and that takes lots of interpretation which the court is the only avenue it can be trashed out, opinions on the issue is voided!

besides, the alledged audiotape came too late and at best dead on arrival, why?

The 'writ of summons' and 'statement of claims' of the APC at the tribunal/court 'did not include the audio tape' neither does it included in the tribunal/court pleadings in anywaywhatsoever ab-initio or (from the begining) and so both appeal court and supreme court are not empowered to admit new evidences outside the 'writ' or earlier claims and 'pleadings.

http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/02/16/court-of-appeal-upholds-fayoses-victory/

The opposition All Progressive Congress, APC, had approached the court of appeal challenging the decision of the Ekiti state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which sat and affirmed the Governor’s victory in Abuja last December.

Sgt Koli was reportedly paid off by APC after the job and he relocated smilling to bank with hundred of millions APC governors donations while their state are heavily owing workers

Sgt Koli did a bad job and yet got paid hugely, [b]Obanikoro's appointment was to stall his impact in delivering lagos to PDP, the audio clip failed to nail him

Ayo Fayose won his Appeal after the audio was released, this further rubished the audio as irrelevant

can seagent Koli just return some of the millions to APC and apologise for a shabby job he did and yet dupe the APC, i doubt!

Is Keyamo speaking after considering recent events of the gains of our gallant soldiers? I would suggest he thinks of clever ways to assist Nigeria, truly if he is passionate of Nigeria as he claims rather than recommending a despot who is clueless about the economy and prefers to avoid debates where real issues would expose him.
Iamsynord:
Festus Keyamo, famous

explained why re-electing

be a total disaster for the

He explained that the

“This is the time to speak

Politics / Re: Jonathan Okays Oil Jobs For Tompolo, Fasehun, Others by richardomoko: 1:08pm On Mar 12, 2015
Cooked up story to discredit the govt. GEJ would win the election no matter what stories they concort.
WisdomFlakes:
The Federal Government is set to execute its new plan to safeguard the waterways and oil pipelines.

The Presidency is believed to have directed the Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to quit the job for some companies, which have been signed on by the government.

The companies are owned by some former Niger Delta militants and prominent citizens. They include Government Tompolo; Mujaheedin Asari-Dokubo and Chief Bipobiri Ajube (aka Gen. Shoot-At-Sight).

There is also founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Dr. Frederick Fasehun who said last night that his company was being considered for the multi-billion naira contract.

The OPC National co-ordinator, Otunba Gani Adams, who is also said to be part of the deal, declined comments last night, saying he was at a meeting.

The takeover is said to be with effect from March 16.

According to a source, seven companies have been allocated “regions” or operational areas as follows: Egbe Security River One (Bayelsa); Gallery Security (Mosinmi -Ore); Close Body Protection (Edo State); Adex Energy Security(Rivers) ; Donyx Global Concept(Lagos and Ogun); Oil Facilities Surveillance-(Delta) and New Age Global Security (Mosinmi-Ibadan).

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will coordinate the jobs.

Details of the deal are sketchy as only few in government are in the picture.

A source said: “The so-called new deal for the protection of waterways has not been made known to members of the Federal Executive Council, unlike in the past.

“Maybe this is an ad hoc arrangement to achieve a political purpose because some ex-Niger Delta militants on January 24 met at the Government House, Yenagoa and vowed to declare war if President Goodluck Jonathan does not win the March 28 election.

“Asari Dokubo specifically said: “We are going to war. Every one of you should go and fortify yourself.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “These former Niger Delta militants are benefiting from all manner of pipeline protection contracts.

“Apart from being on retainership with NIMASA, I am aware that in 2009, a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Ufot Ekaette presented a memo on December 2, 2009 to the Federal Executive Council for the award of the N1.8billion Kurutie Shoreline Protection and Reclamation contract.

“A company, KFT Kpudoh, allegedly owned by Tompolo and another called Phoenica Nigeria Limited, bid for the said contract.”

Based on the advice of the Bureau of Public Procurement, after a thorough technical audit, the Shoreline Protection and Reclamation Contract was awarded to Phoenica Nigeria Limited by FEC. But the award of the contract to Phoenica fetched Akaette death threats. The government later reviewed the contract.”

A source in Warri, Delta State, said the contract for pipelines in Delta State would be executed by Oil Field Surveillance Limited, the same company, which had previously handled it. It is owned by Tompolo.

“What I was told is that it has been awarded for Delta, Edo, Ondo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Lagos and Ogun states. Like the one of Lagos State, I learnt it’s being anchored by Dr Frederick Fasshun and that it’s going to commence on Monday,” the source said.

The NSCDC Deputy Commandant General in charge of Operation, Evans Ewuurum, said the corps was yet to receive any circular on the contracts.

Nigeria has been battling with huge revenue due to vandalism of oil and gas pipeline.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin, recently disclosed that Nigeria had been losing an estimated 100,000 barrels of crude oil valued at N1.18 billion daily to oil thieves.

This amounts to an annual loss of N433.62 billion.

The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, said pipeline vandalism led to shortage of gas for firing power plants.

The electricity market, which has 5,500MW installed capacity now generates an average of 3,575.85MW following paucity of gas as vandals who always strike whenever the sector is about to hit 4,500MW”.

Politics / Re: Why Buhari Will Not Agree To A Debate With Jonathan By Femi Aribisala by richardomoko: 9:35am On Mar 12, 2015
Buhari has nothing to say and has no clear agenda.
sammiestar:
IN all my years of studying elections, I have never seen a campaign as bogus as that of Muhammadu Buhari. It is amazing that, for a man who is running for election as president for a marathon fourth time, Buhari is so bereft of ideas as to how he would do anything if he were to become president. Campaigning in 35 states, Buhari has spoken for a total of less than 60 minutes in all. Surely, he wants to be president; but he clearly has no presidential agenda.

Buhari’s blueprint for the presidency is similar to his Cambridge/WASC certificate; it is yet to be discovered. It is an article of faith of things hoped for by his admirers, the evidence of things neither seen nor articulated. No man becomes president of Nigeria on the basis of vain platitudes. No man becomes president as a result of social media blogs and soundbites. No man becomes president by giving two-minute speeches in craftily-packaged rallies, one minute of which is spent introducing his entourage.

Empty promises

What would Buhari do differently to fight Boko Haram? He would study the situation and restore morale to the military. What would he do to restore the economy? He would increase the international price of oil single-hahnded. What would he do to create jobs? He would build interstate highways in the middle of a drastic slump in Nigeria’s income in order to energise motor-mechanics and bukaterias.

Buhari says: “I will revive and reactivate our minimally performing refineries to optimum capacity.” How does he propose to do this? “I will provide one meal a day for children in public primary schools.” Where is the money to do this? “I will generate, transmit and distribute electricity on a 24/7 basis whilst simultaneously ensuring the development of sustainable/renewable energy by 2019.” Is he now going to nationalise the GENCOS and the DISCOS?

“I will make direct cash transfer of 5,000 naira to the 25 million poorest and most vulnerable citizens, if they immunize children and enrol them in school.” My o my! Did Buhari do the maths before coming out with this pie in the sky? This amounts to a 125 billion naira handout; nearly equal to the entire annual income of Edo State.

Style without substance

Goodluck Jonathan’s APC opponents like to denigrate him as “clueless.” But what shall we say of Muhammadu Buhari, a general who did not know the name of his running-mate; calling him Yemi Osunbade instead of Yemi Osinbajo. Buhari referred to Imo State as Ibo State. In an interview on CNN, he called INEC the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission. He also called his party the All Progressives Confidence. No wonder President Jonathan observed that Buhari cannot remember his own phone-number.

Let’s face it: General Buhari has become an embarrassment to the APC. He should not be allowed to become a Nigerian embarrassment. An absent-minded old man is not the kind of person we need as president. Electing Buhari amounts to jumping from the frying-pan into the fire.

Buhari’s campaign elevates make-believe over reality. It asserts the primacy of propaganda over commonsense. It proclaims the superiority of fiction over facts. Buhari and the APC need to be told some home-truths. You don’t build roads by attacking Goodluck Jonathan. You don’t create jobs by attacking the PDP. You don’t destroy the Boko Haram by undermining the authority of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. You don’t proclaim a mantra of anti-corruption slogans, while being surrounded and funded by corrupt politicians.

Shouting change changes nothing. Change is championed by the young, and not by a 72 year-old retired soldier receiving cheers from a coterie of dyed-in-the-wool political dinosaurs. How can Buhari represent change from the PDP, when a large chunk of his change-sloganising APC members are poached PDP turncoats? How does Buhari’s endorsement by Obasanjo, a former PDP president, commend him as an agent of change from the PDP?

Counterfeit change

Instead of change, Buhari’s agenda is the “same old same old” of the mundane and the sub-standard. I challenge APC supporters to point out one; just one, single original idea that has emanated from him. The truth is that it does not exist. Buhari is the master of the fluff and the bluster. He will fight corruption, but he cannot say how. He will revive the economy, but cannot say how. He will end the Boko Haram insurgency in no time at all, but he cannot say how.

In effect, Buhari is asking Nigerians to elect him on the basis of some voodoo that he will only concoct after the election. Nigerians should not fall for this ploy. Buhari is an old has-been: banking on the forgetfulness of Nigerians and on our disregard for history. The APC has spent far more time strategizing on how to manipulate public opinion than on policy-formulation. Its manifesto is shallow and phony; a very poor cousin to Goodluck Jonathan’s well-articulated and unfolding transformation agenda.

On the basis of his performance in office, President Jonathan has done much better than any of his predecessors. His legacy is there for all to see in agriculture, aviation, road construction, education, health (especially Guinea Worm, Polio and Ebola eradication), railways, electricity and political reform through the National Conference. Those who are insisting he should not be given a second-term need to come up with cogent reasons why we need to change the stewardship of an economy recording one of the highest growth-rates in the world.

No wonder therefore that Buhari is running away from a presidential debate. His reticence confirms the view that he has ...

Politics / Re: Morocco 'Recalls' Ambassador To Nigeria, Says Nigeria Lied by richardomoko: 9:26am On Mar 12, 2015
Just like they (Moroco) lost out in the African Nations cup (ANC) over their refusal to host the tournament because of the flimpsy reason of ebola. So also they would lose out again when GEJ is returned as President. I'm sure that they are only interested in promoting Islamic candidates. What a shame.
Mynd44:
Morocco has recalled its ambassador from Nigeria, accusing the authorities there of using King Mohammed VI in an election campaign.

Its foreign ministry issued a statement, denying the king had spoken by phone to Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan, as had been stated by Nigeria.

The North Africa kingdom denounced such "unethical practices", it said.

Nigeria has denied that the king was being used to win over Muslim voters.

Mr Jonathan, a Christian from southern Nigeria, is facing a strong challenge in the 28 March elections from opposition candidate Muhammadu Buhari, who is popular in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north.

'Astonishment'

The Nigerian ministry of foreign affairs released a statement on Sunday, denying reports that President Jonathan had been snubbed by King Mohammed because he was trying to curry favour with Muslim voters.

"This information is absolutely not correct as the president did in fact speak to the Moroccan monarch... both leaders spoke extensively over the phone on matters of mutual interest and concern," it said.

However, Morocco's foreign ministry responded by saying it wanted to state in the "clearest and strongest terms" that "there has never been a phone conversation" between the two men.

"The king has actually declined the request of the Nigerian government because it is part of the internal electioneering," Morocco's official news agency Map quoted the statement as saying.

"The kingdom of Morocco expresses its astonishment and denunciation to these unethical practices that are contrary to the spirit of responsibility that must prevail in relations between states."

As a consequence Morocco's Abuja ambassador was being recalled immediately for consultations, it said.

Politics / Re: How Jonathan Awarded $500m Defense Contract To Arthur Eze - SaharaReporters by richardomoko: 1:42pm On Mar 10, 2015
How come the writer claims that the helicopters have not been engaged in action? Then what videos were we seeing on TV showing such? Please stop fabricating stories or distorting information for cheap political gains.
IbnSultaan:
SaharaReporters has obtained documents relating to a scandalously inflated $500 million defense contract that President Goodluck Jonathan awarded to Arthur Eze, a Nigerian businessman with a shady past, a close friend of the president and his wife, and a major financier of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Our security sources said some officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) were furious over the jumbo contract described by one source as “a pure waste.” The sources, most of them military personnel, told our correspondent that, in addition to its sheer extravagance, the contract has also saddled the Nigerian military with helicopters that have limited or no combat utility.

The documents obtained by our correspondent reveal that Mr. Eze, the chief executive of Triax, received the gigantic sum of $466.5 million in order to weaponize six Puma helicopters with the aid of an Israeli company named Elbit Systems. This meant that each weaponized helicopter cost close to $78 million. “For the price of each helicopter provided by Engineer Arthur Eze, the Air Force could have acquired seven top grade military helicopters,” said one of our sources.

Our sources also noted that the haste with which the contract was initiated, approved and executed raised serious questions. A memo dated November 20, 2014 and submitted by the Chief of Air Staff, A.N. Amosu, revealed that Mr. Eze had on November 4, 2014 submitted a proposal to the office of the National Security Adviser proposing to supply the upgraded helicopters to the NAF. The tone of Mr. Eze’s letter, obtained by us, indicated that he was deeply involved in sourcing and supplying hardware to the Nigerian military as it is embroiled in a fight against Boko Haram militants.

An Air Force officer said he was alarmed at the alacrity with which Mr. Eze’s overinflated proposal was approved by the NSA’s office. The NAF followed with an equally quick endorsement sixteen days later.

One of our sources accused President Jonathan and Mr. Eze of using the refusal of the US to sell Cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria as an excuse to engage in a large-scale squandering of funds involving the Federal Government and Mr. Eze’s company, the Triax Company Nigeria Limited. “In the US, a brand new AH Cobra attack helicopter costs around $12 million each,” said a source at the NAF. He added: “That means that, with $400 million, Nigeria could have purchased up to 40 brand new helicopters.”

According to the source, the Cobra attack helicopter is one of the best US-made helicopters. “It is highly effective in the battlefield. It would have given us big battlefield advantage over Boko Haram,” he said.

In an additional proposal, Mr. Eze’s company sought to purchase 4,000 57mm S5 rockets, 400 80mm S8 rockets, 500 general-purpose bombs, and 20,000 units of unguided rockets. His company also received a contract to refurbish three C-130 planes that had been sitting at the hanger of the Nigerian Air Force for several years.

A final invoice Mr. Eze submitted to the Nigerian government showed that he would receive $466, 500,000 to supply six upgraded Puma helicopters, four units of single-seater Sukhoi Su-25K (“Frog-foot”) Soviet-made ground attack jets, and two upgraded Su-25UB trainers for $330 million. In addition, he would receive $14 million for the shipping of platforms/ground support/line replacement of the six Puma helicopters; $44 million for some arms and ammunition earlier proposed; $37 million for the maintenance of C-130 engines, and $40 million for unspecified armaments for the NAF.

Our military sources stated that Mr. Eze’s invoice for the supply of the refurbished aircraft was massively inflated by international and Nigerian standards.

Several of the sources said Triax delivered the substandard equipment after Mr. Eze further padded the cost of the refurbished helicopters and the C-130. The sources revealed that, since February 15, 2015, when Chief of Air Staff Amosu showed off the helicopters and C-130 planes, none of the aircraft has been deployed even once to fight Boko Haram militants. “They are not in any combat-ready condition,” one officer fumed. “We are looking at a total waste of money for no good reason.”

Politics / Re: Minister Slams APC For Opposing Obanikoro’s Ministerial Appointment by richardomoko: 12:19pm On Mar 10, 2015
They are only setting a dangerous precedent for eventual nullification of ministerial candidates based not on credibility, performance or qualification, but on frivolous political sentiments.
macpetrus:
The Minister of State for Works, Dayo Adeyeye, has chided the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the party’s opposition to the appointment of Musiliu Obanikoro as a minister, saying the party was becoming too irritating in its desperation for power.

The minister, who said in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, that Mr. Obanikoro never participated in the rigging of any election, added that “Ekiti people wholeheartedly voted for Governor Ayodele Fayose and no amount of falsehood and propaganda can erode that fact.

“Even the United States said the election result reflected the will of Ekiti’s voters and that the security forces collaborated effectively and provided a safe and secure environment free of major incidents.”

Mr. Adeyeye said it was becoming more worrisome the way the APC elements go about trying to pull down any individual or organisation that refused to be corrupted by them.

He said; “assuming but not conceding that the audio tape they are talking about is real, there’s nothing in it to suggest that soldiers were told to rig the election. What I heard was people showing
apprehension on the need to prevent APC thugs from operating and money from being shared at the polling units.

“If one may ask, was it soldiers and Obanikoro that made the APC to lose in more than 80 per cent of the polling units in Ekiti State?”

The minister said APC was only showing its fear for Obanikoro because of his political influence in Lagos and across the Southwest by kicking against his ministerial appointment.

He challenged the party to take the audio clip to court instead of going about passing verdict of guilty on innocent Nigerians who only refused to be corrupted by the party.

“The truth is that APC cannot operate under a credible environment. Once the party is against an institution, be sure that such an institution has refused to be corrupted.

“That was the reason they went on the streets of Abuja in November 2013, calling for the removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega because the party lost
the Anambra State Governorship election.

“Interestingly, the same APC that wanted Jega sacked in 2013 are now the apostle of ‘Jega must not be sacked’ apparently because they perceived the INEC boss as doing their bidding,” Mr. Adeyeye said.

Time would tell if truly he is sick and unfit to run.
tmodeltoluene:
The health status of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, has been generating a lot of controversies in recent times.
For the first time since the controversy started, his wife, Aisha Buhari has opened up about her husband’s health status.

Aisha, who spoke to The Guardian at the Westminster Plaza Hotel, London on Saturday night, after APC team’s interactive reception with Nigerians in the diaspora, said her husband was hale and hearty.

She debunked reports making round that her husband is ill and was in London for health reasons.
When asked if her husband was being hospitalized, she replied: “He’s home, well and sound.

“No, he’s just come here to rest. He’s just here to have a rest, at least few days rest, before he goes back to the business.”
Following Buhari’s visit to London, rumours started spreading that he was sick and had travelled for health reasons.
Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has insisted that Buhari is sick, calling on him to swear by the Holy Quran that he didn’t visit the United Kingdom for medical treatment.
The APC presidential candidate had denied the reports about him visiting a London hospital to address his health problems saying they were false.

This is only a tip of the ice berg of. Strange bed fellows.
ojsmscom:
Buhari’s Campaign Crumbles:
APC VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SET TO ABANDON Buhari OVER LACK OF TRUST.

It’s fight to finish as a cold war between the ex-dictator and his running mate gets worse by the hour

Complexities behind an alleged cold war between the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), and his running mate, Dr. Yemi Osinbajo are getting worse, and have divided the campaign train into two combative segments, International Guardian reliably gathered. A campaign senior officer who spoke to our field reporters on strict anonymity confirmed the tension, and indicated that Dr. Osinbajo and some of his close campaign allies have been excluded in several major stakeholder meetings lately.

The war between the two presidential partners started shortly after Buhari presented Osinbajo, the professor of law and former attorney general and commissioner for Justice in Lagos state, as his running mate mid-December. Dr. Osibanjo had expressed regrets that Buhari did not trust him but had no choice selecting him because he was pressured by the party chieftains, including former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, and a cohort of south west governors, Bisi Akande.

Another bitter moment soon emerged in the same month when Buhari was speaking during a campaign rally in Owerri, Imo State and wrongly introduced his running mate as “Professor Yemi Osinbade.” The news permeated the social media fuelling speculations that the ex-war lord may be battling age-related heath issues.

To worsen the situation, the speculation that Buhari’s may not make it through a four-year term if he won because of a visibly deteriorating health made it to the media and fuelled a suspicious relationship between General Buhari’s camp and Dr. Osibanjo. Buhari had allegedly accused the Tinubi/Osibanjo camp of praying for his death – a situation similar to the late President Shehu Musa Yar'Adua when critics accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of nominating a sick candidate to jeopardize chances allotted to the Northern zone in the party.

Less than 10 days to the election, issues of lack of trust and collaboration between General Buhari and Dr. Osibanjo has become even more noticeable. It was alleged that Buhari’s camp secretly trails and records all campaign appearances by Dr. Osibanjo to micromanage his strategies, speaking lines and comments. Consequently, the General it was alleged had summoned Dr. Osibanjo several times over comments and stories attributed to him in the media, International Guardian reliably gathered.

The last straw over a strained relationship occurred a few days ago after a secret meeting between General Buhari and Chief Tinubu was revealed in the media. Tinubu, it was gathered had purportedly negotiated with the General over allocation of oil wells in the Niger Delta as compensation for electioneering support and huge financial investment in the party from the stage of negotiations for merger and registration as a political party to the entire campaign engagements.

Party stalwarts allied to Dr. Osibanjo were furious that they were excluded from the meeting. Tinubu’s camp were also furious about the outcome of the meeting which resulted in lengthy hours of horse-trading and arguments. Buhari, it was alleged, had not been transparent with the group over his collaboration and agreement with key members of the Northern Leaders Political Forum. “Buhari has not invested a kobo in this campaign from the word go and should not even talk in this meeting,” an aggrieved member from Tinubu’s camp said.

As of press time, Buhari’s campaign is reported to be in tatters, pitting two major groups in a cold war over pre and post-election allocation of power and resources. Key party members contacted by International Guardian’s campaign reporters declined any categorical comments. “Parties do have issues – yes we have issues just like other campaigns, but those will not stop our victory come February 14” a member said.

Politics / Re: Nigerians Question Why TV Stations Are Going Up In Flames? by richardomoko: 6:36pm On Mar 09, 2015
It is usual to APC modus operandi. They have only graduated from destroying campaign posters to this arsonist and deplorable act.
ochejoseph:
Yesterday arsonist set Fire to ITV Benin that was after Oshiomole withdrew the station's accreditation and accused it of biased reportage

Today AIT has also gone up in flames in a similar fashion!

Considering the fact that Tinubu et al are in court seeking a sharp- sharp Judgement  to  ‎stop the airing of a documentary he considered inimical to his political career!

Is there anything APC is not telling us about the strange flames!

Nigerians are already asking Questions
Politics / Re: AIT Received N10 Billion For Damaging Documentaries by richardomoko: 6:34pm On Mar 09, 2015
How much did those several blog sites receive from APC?

AIT Received N10 Billion For Damaging Documentaries On Opposition Leaders Yemi Osinbajo Is Its Next Target

African Independent Television (AIT) owners received N10 billion to produce and air negative documentaries on leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a SaharaReporters investigation shows.

Raymond Dokpesi
SaharaReporters learnt that the Minister for Petroleum Affairs, Diezani Allison-Madueke is bankrolling the documentary while the scripts and voice overs are being prepared and cut with the help of the Nigeria Television Authority and some Nollywood production companies and working for President Jonathan's re-election.

As a result of the massive deal, AIT, which was in poor financial shape that its principal owner, Raymond Dokpesi, had decided to sell it to the banks to which the station owed several billions of Naira, is now back in good standing. It has also become considerably bolder because of the backing of Mrs. Allison-Madueke and other powerful government officials behind the deal.

Our investigation reveals that AIT receives N5 million each time an episode of any of the documentaries is aired on their channels in different Nigerian markets.

Apart from the cost of producing and airing the documentaries, SaharaReporters found that a team of high-priced lawyers has also been mobilized with about N3 billion to handle any legal threats that may arise from the documentaries. Just last week, APC chieftain Bola Tinubu sued AIT over the documentary on him.

SaharaReporters learned that the next in the series will focus on the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Our source, who didn't want to reveal the content, said the objective of that show will be to “destroy” Prof. Osinbajo's position as a strong moral leader in the Christian community.

"The idea is to make the Christians who have left Jonathan because of Osinbajo's entry into the Presidential race to have a rethink," our source stated.

“The PDP is still failing the basic mathematics,” a political analyst told SaharaReporters. “They can squander all of the money in the Central Bank trying to damage the reputation of everyone in the opposition, but how does that provide a cover for the ineptitude and corruption of the Goodluck Jonathan government? Does that explain why Nigeria is far worse than they found it? That is the question Nigerians will be answering when they go to the polls in three weeks.”

Politics / Re: UK Plans Training For 66,000 Teachers In The North by richardomoko: 6:31pm On Mar 09, 2015
A good plan from a Transforming government. GEJ till 2019.
ducii:
Department for International Development, an agency of the United Kingdom, has inaugurated the Teacher Development Programme to boost learning in six northern states.

The programme will train 62,000 school teachers, 4,000 student teachers and 816 teacher educators in the six states.

The beneficiaries of the TDP arrangement, which is aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning at the basic education level, are Jigawa, Katsina, Zamfara, Niger, Kaduna and Kano states.

The programme, funded by DFID, is intended to improve the skills of teachers in the three core curriculum subjects of English, Mathematics and Science and Technology, is to produce better teachers through a combination of pre-service and in-service training.

The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. MacJohn Nwaobiala, represented by the National Programme Manager, TDP, Dr. Nguyan Shaku Feese, said this at the meeting of the National Joint Committee for the TDP in Abuja.

He expressed optimism that the findings and recommendations of the working groups would be used to refine and improve the process of implementing the set of reforms articulated by the National Commission for Colleges of Education.

Nwaobiala lamented that the provision of regular sustainable Continuing Professional Development opportunities for teacher educators started to receive adequate attention recently.

“A key element of the reform of pre-service training is how to ensure that the teacher educators in our training institutions do have the regular opportunities for updating their subject content knowledge and pedagogical skills,” he stated.

Executive Secretary of NCCE, Prof. Muhammed Junaid, said the commission was committed to ensuring the production of quality teachers for the nation’s basic education sector.

According to him, the NCCE would continue to work with the colleges and TDP to accomplish the necessary reforms in the sector.

Junaid said, “Our ultimate aim in implementing the CPD programme is to engender a paradigm shift in the way lecturers teach, from traditional transmission model of teaching to constructivist gender sensitive pedagogy.”

Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Land Grab An “abuse Of Office, Corruption” – APC by richardomoko: 4:24pm On Feb 25, 2015
See pot calling kettle black. Is this up to the over 30 km land grabbing Tinubu has done in Ibeju Lekki? I wonder what would happen if APC were to win. God forbid.
wola44:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to apologise to Nigerians over alleged acquisition of 90.04 hectares of land in the Aviation Village, Abuja for farming.

In a statement issued in London yesterday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the defence that the land was meant for farming, which it said, is allowed under the Fifth Schedule Part 1 (Code of Conduct for Public Officers) of the 1999 Constitution, does not hold water.

It stated that the issues involved were beyond the fact that a public officer was legally allowed to engage in farming, adding that the provision quoted by the President’s apologists was a weak and untenable defence. The APC statement read in part: “The Fifth Schedule Part 1(Code of Conduct for Public Officers) of the 1999 Constitution, Section 1 states: ‘a public officer shall not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicts with his duties and responsibilities.’

But that’s exactly what the President did by leveraging his high office to grab a prime land in

Abuja. Would Goodluck Jonathan have been given 90.04 hectares of such a prime land were he not a sitting President?

It also accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Bala Mohammed, of acquiring 40.40 hectares of land in Abuja, for farming.

Blasting those defending the land acquisition, APC said: “Those pushing this kind of argument are insulting Nigerian. It is also important to point out that the Aviation Village, under the Abuja Master plan, is meant only for aviation-related activities and not farming. The president knew this, yet he went ahead to apply and was allocated land for farming in the Aviation Village.” (The Sun)
