Please I need your advice. I saw a sponsored ads on Facebook about Canada Jobs. It also captioned that the company will sponsor the visa. I picked the number and chatted on WhatsApp. I was asked to send my CV to their email and after 24hours, I was mailed that my qualifications met their requirements. I was offered job as a Drill Engineer for the Oil and gas company. I was later sent Temporary Residence Visa Form to fill as well as Labour Market Impact Assessment(LMIA) form and Job agreement letter(that have in it that I will be responsible for the biometrics fee while other cost till arrival will be handled by the company). I filled and signed where necessary and returned them with my International passport as requested.

After few days, I was mailed to send the LMIA , Visa Form and my International passport to the lagos embassy of Canada through the email they gave (lagos@vfsglobal.g-c.online, so as to book my biometrics. I did as instructed and after few hours, got a mail from the said lagos embassy mail that my documents have been reviewed and i should proceed to pay for my biometrics through the payment link supplied so I can be given date for the biometrics. The biometrics fee is $116 CAD and processing fee is $91 CAD, bringing total to $207 CAD which amounted to #66,549.89 or pay same into one CEDI SIGNAL ZENITH BANK account and send receipt to them.

I am confused as to being real or not which is the reason I seek your genuine and honest advice.

Most houses in nigeria have to be demolished after like 60 years, meanwhile houses in uk built with bricks and wood since 1880 are still there with the wood easily replaced. Meanwhile that brick and wood house below was originally built in 1887. I lived on the street in 2007 and was surprised myself.

The incident about USA wildlife on the front Page got me by the balls, to be honest, this has been bothering me for some Months, this kind of news literally graced the front page every month of 2021



Why are houses in the Western World especially USA built with Wood, is it that these people don't know they can be easily maimed, attacked or robbed at night or their house easily gutted by fire like we see these days?



Is it written in their constitution or Building plan to use such low budget equipment for building houses that can be easily destroyed?

Nigerians in Diaspora, what's your take on this?

I would specifically be talking about the US

Firstly there are no US building code...There are only locally adopted building codes...mostly adopted in the city or state level..many governing bodies have elected to adopt a model building code tho..

With that being said.. the building codes don't specifically favor one material over another...economics is what favors one material over another for a given building type in a particular location...In the US wood is generally much cheaper than concrete for home construction..Steel is quite rare and only seen in very large expensive homes...

Also wood frame homes can actually perform very well in extreme storms when properly detailed...
These are one of the few reasons why woods are used in most homes..

But you need to decide where you want to be, don't choose something cos everyone is doing it. Decide the area, upgrade yourself in the area you decide to play at. I graduated, got 3 job offers after school, 1 in my course of study, an NGO and a bank. I settled for the Bank cos it allowed me to remain in the heart of town where I can follow through on my aspirations. I resigned furthered my education, started a business that paid 6-7 figures. Hello, Richdee. Thank you for your comment. Having a care certificate should normally be of a greater advantage to boost one's chances of getting a Care Worker job in this HACW visa route. However, I can't vouch for Kope-medics meeting the expectations of providing CoS and accommodation for 3 months, especially as this might be quite competitive due to high demands. Hopefully this new law that's about to come into effect will not make it mandatory for those applying for Care Worker jobs to have care certificates and prior experience. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!

It's not if you think about it. The certification body is in the UK so you're paying in pounds... Put in the conversion factor.

Aside that you'll be getting two certificates i.e the level 3 and first aid certificate. They are both internationally recognized.

It was 350k but It was increased recently. The name is Kopemedics, you can look them up online. But there are other people doing this so if they're too high for you, you can look out for others.
