You made me smile when you said the only difference between these ages is a year, months and number and I was wondering if the words are supposed to differ to. This is really confusing because if u changed your age at any point by swearing to an affidavit then it is expected that you stick with that. That being said, Clarification is needed. Is your evaluation report out? Which year did you use for ielts?
Rence22:
Hi everyone, please I need your help to this puzzle.

I grew up with my dad who did a court declaration of age for me and I was using it until I reconciled with my Mom when I was just about to graduate for BSc. She told me the age I had been using was incorrect and gave me the correct one. After that, I went to the same court to swear another declaration of age. The only differences between these ages is a year, months and number. From August 14, 1987 to Feb 5, 1986 Now the problem is, the age on my passport and waec and bsc is the first one i have been using which my dad gave me and the one on my Msc and marriage certificate and others after my Bsc are the new age i declared in the court.

What do you advise I do about this especially with wes. I intend to write a letter of explanation to CIC concerning the differences but as for WES i dont know. I requested for my WAEC and MSc evaluation from wes and both of them have contrary ages. Moreso, I used the age on my passport as the official age for all registration concerning Canada (I renewed the old passport with this same old age and premarital name last year. I had no Canada plans then.)

Thank you very much. Your assistance would be very much appreciated.

I am interested in being your assistant @ladymarshall . I am post ITA and would love to contribute immensely to the thread. I await your response on this
ladymarshall:
To usher in my first 100 days as a professorial grading officer (PPR scripts) grin, I have decided to make the marking scheme more transparent. I know some of you might wonder "how did this person get this score?" "how do they mark it"?

I am going to carry over two scripts from the part 7, but before I mark them, here's the marking scheme:

Your script should contain the basics (it should be comprehensive, see below) which has the highest score. The remaining marks will be given for details, motivational value and creativity

1. Basic parts (in any order)- 4 marks
Timeline
NOC
ECA
IELTS
Medicals
PCC
POF
Proof of work experience
Post-AOR/Waiting time
Any other useful step (ADRs, Interviews, Addition of spouse etc, earlier rejection)

2. Details: How detailed is your script? 2 marks

3. Motivational value: Does it inspire or encourage us? 2 marks

4. Creativity: Were you creative? 2 marks

No 1 is most important. Your scripts should contain ALL the basics.

Scripts lacking all the basics will be graded 3 and below

Scripts with only attendance value (e.g 1 to 3 line scripts) will be graded -1 and below

P.S Grader has the discretion to assign decimal points depending on the story.
Grader has the discretion to give bonus marks

Note: Vacancy exists for 1 assistant. First you will be on traineeship for a couple of weeks, afterward you will assume full marking responsibilities

Qualification: Passed IELTS, you can be awaiting ECA, post-ITA is an added advantage (this is to be assured of your commitment to this
thread, [s]research has shown that dedication to the EE cause and this thread is intensely aroused and heightened after passing
IELTS[/s])

Disqualified: PPR holders ([s]because research has shown that 90% of PPR announcees abandon us here over time, diverting their loyalty
to the sister thread, we are not jealous o, we are just saying[/s] grin

Salary: Thanks and heartfelt gratitude; volunteer position, no monetary pay

Kindly indicate interest here publicly first so all can note your commitment and public declaration. Then I will send you a pm or you can
pm me

Take all the time you need to decide and think about it, don't rush, we have time. Part 8 has only begun grin grin

Please for those who have done medicals, I searched on Google and found out that Divine fountain hotel is near qlife family clinic. Is the distance between them trekkable? Get ur employment letter, confirmation letter, promotion letter where applicable, 6 months pay stub or slip, office I’d card and u are good to go
chrisebsy:
Smart minds , please come to my rescue.

HR has changed his mind towards signing my Ref letter.

He now claims I should follow due process ,which is for me to apply through the Director Generals office before he can sign .

because the DG and some Directors will sign my request for a reference letter before HR can now sign the reference letter

This process will make my application "news" to the whole organization as it would pass from office to office in the admin section. although I can say I am applying for a visit and need reference letter.
That still won't change the fact that the whole office will know am applying to either visit /migrate to Canada.

please what suggestion can the house offer , can I just ask a director from a different dept sign it for me ? to avoid the plans been on the gossip News @9am in the office

in addition, when planning to use diff NOC, u must be able to get the 2 reference from employer
kentoski:

You shouldn't combine the two experiences under the same NOC, add the NYSC experience separately as another NOC, that way you get the max points for work experience without issues.

It depends solely on your skills. CBT requires that you type fast and correctly. Being able to read and understand on a screen is also an essential skill. You can try answering some test through the two means and decide which works well for you. Also note that there is no auto correct tool on these computers and it will also also not tell you the number of words.
mydeporch:

Thanks but looks like the do only CBT there....am just considering my writing for d CBT... Typing fast...

It means one will get to Lagos for paper based test.right?
Which one is easier my people... CBT or Paper based.
Passport still under processing.... Want to invest time now to prepare well so that when passport land like this...to start english test reg. and ECA...
I keep getting motivated as i am hearing people's PPR...congrats to all who for theirs recently...

Esomimi:
Good morning all,

please I have a question...

Hubby and I want to apply for EE with me as PA. I have IELTS already and my ECA completion date is 14th of May. Hubby has a Masters and claiming points for that puts our crs score at 469. But the issue is that WES is frustrating his ECA. it is one stalling story after another. all their call center agents have different stories to tell. If we don't claim points for his Masters, crs score is 459. So we thought of going into the pool as soon as my ECA is out (459) and shun WES with their wahala. if we get the report before ITA, we update.
So to my question:
1. Can we apply together without his ECA?
2. Will He still be asked to provide an ECA even though we didn't claim points?
3. Will this decision affect the process later on?
yes you can. Your score is very ok with or without the ECA

Able God has finally showered His blessing. This got me crying though but when we exercise our faith in God, He will definitely come through for us.
bronze25:
It's PPR guys
that.

The bible says let God be true & all men liars. I called two awesome friends who knew all I was going through. I jokingly told them I was going to set up a committee of friends to raise funds for me to write IELTS. My best friend said make me No.1 on the list. My other friend said give me till the end of the month. I cried eh, God what kind of love is this.
Bestie credit my account, my other friend did same, my dearly beloved only brother sent money (in his voice "don't fail this time"wink

Third IELTS, I took the test in September. Result refused to come out on the stipulated date. This time depression set in, I just concluded that the delay meant I had failed again. I was contemplating the best possible way to vanish from planet earth

I made it through that day when some of my friends noticed I had not come online. Calls started rolling in, words of encouragement came, strength came from above. Next day Tuesday 25th, a friend took me out to see a movie, after waiting for about an 1hr 30 mins, I told my friend I didn't want to see any movie, I just wanted to lie down. We went to her house & while she was cooking banga rice for me, I got a message from someone I wrote the test with that our results have been uploaded.
Time to check result, my hands started shaking, my brain shut down because I was not able to remember my passport number. Them boom I remembered, I saw the most beautiful result in my entire life LRWS 8.5,7,7,8.

October 3rd I got ITA, I started gathering all the documents I needed. while this was going on, I got a call from a foreign number, It was for a job.
Few days later, I got another call to discuss the salary. Come October 26th immediately I submitted my application, I got a mail. It was an offer letter.

I swear this is really true, like I experience the hand of God all around me.

Then the wait began, I waited for medicals, my AOR mates started getting BIL & med pass from right, left, center, then my anxiety level increased. Finally the long awaited mail dropped November 29th, I did biometrics 30th.

At this point, I said God it's now your application. Nothing will shake me again because I was very sure of the Hand on my application

In January 2019, everybody started checking their VO. I join the multitude to check on January 3rd & AVO. What a way to start the new year, I felt very very weak. I had to talk myself out of the feeling, I reassured myself with God's words that He is with me.

Kept myself busy with work & started tutoring people on IELTS, that way I would have little on no time to stress my brain over my application.

While these was ongoing, my friends started getting PPR; people I tutored, those I helped put their application together. As they were getting PPR, they were sending me their passport to drop at VFS (my office is very close). Every time I get to VFS I always ask God a question “when will I come & submit my own passport? When will it get to my turn?”

Fast forward to March 9th when there was a down pour of ADR on a Saturday. That down pour got go me. I submitted March 16th.

April 12th I got another shocker of my life. An invitation for interview scheduled for 30th April. Trust me I cried like my life was over when I got the mail. I started doubting if it’s the same God that I serve that everyone serves. I made a statement more than 10times “God has stretched me beyond my limit”

*Interview preparation*
I was added to an interview group on WhatsApp, asked of the silly questions possibly, did monitoring spirit to those that went of interview
I travelled to get documents for my application. I took about 4 documents I have drafted, a court judgment showing my name, directory for lawyers in that state showing my profile & the firm I worked.

I called a friend to get a contact in Accra to help me find my way around but he offered to go on the trip with me. Despite not knowing what I was going to do in Accra, he could sense the fear & anxiety in me. My friend cleared his schedule for the period of time I was traveling, travelled all the way from Abuja to Lagos just to go with me to Accra.

Prayers started from all corners, rehearsal everyday, asking questions upandan on the interview group. A day before I left for Accra (Sunday) I was prompted in my spirit to sow a divine mercy seed, I took this seed offering from the money I was suppose to travel with... the money pain me small (David said I would not give to my God that which cost me nothing) I held on to those works.

God showed up on the 29th just before I left for the airport, alerts started dropping like bomb . In short my trip became an all expense paid trip, I even had extra money from it.

*Interview proper*
April 30th finally came. I woke up by 4am, went through all my documents again, finally got to the embassy by 8.23am. Dropped all documents at the reception, sat down quietly waiting for my turn. From the list, I was the first but this people didn't call me till the reception was completely empty. I just waka enter the convenience & started blasting in tongues, didn't care whether my voice was loud I just wanted God to make everyone & everything work for my good. I was planning to ask the security lady for mat or monks/vita foam to put on the floor & sleep (make I just kukuma rest till them ready)

The lady flung all my documents at me that I will hear from them. The interview didn’t last more than 10mins just as I prayed & God heard me.

I took my tired self to the hotel, changed & went to enjoy a bowl of chicken at KFC. After spoiling myself, I checked my phone & saw that my golden mail has been there for over an hour & half.

*Timeline*
ITA --- Oct 3rd 2018
AOR --- Oct 26th
BIL -- Nov 29
ADR -- March 9
Submitted- March 26
Interview invite - April 12
Interview April 30
PPR-- April 30.

I appreciate God almighty for being my Ebenezer, my glory & the lifter of my head, my strength, my peace, my provider & my supplier. My champion the host of heaven, the captain of my destiny. Words cannot describe Him, words cannot express my gratitude.

Special appreciation goes to everyone, for as many that are still waiting on God in one point or another, I pray the outstretched hand of God shows up on your case.

Sorry it’s coming late, I just got back from Accra.

All praise and glory to God who makes all things possible. It’s not my PPR yet but it’s IELTS victory and as a result, ITA is here. For clarification, I have never failed a particular exam more than once before passing it the second time but this one humbled me ( not trying to show off oooooo. ). I knew I was going to write ielts exam so I started preparing for it but not too deep because I thought it’s the English I speak, write, read and listen to everyday. Little did I know that my shocker will reveal itself in the next couple of weeks.

I wrote for the 1st time on the 29th of September 2018 and the result came out terrible as in ehn, no other words to describe how it was LWRS - 7.5,6,7,7.5. I should add here that I wrote my letter and essay without paragraphs - big big mistake. So I said to myself, I will rewrite this and ace it accordingly . This time, I practiced and got some people to read my essays and letters after which I registered for the Nov 10th exam but it was disheartening when the result came out and I scored LWRS 8.5, 6.5,7.5,7.5. I immediately requested for a remark but the almighty EOR for BC came back unchanged. I wept and felt so terrible. By this time, my WES was already completed and I felt like I was the one holding my family back. After wasting about 2 months, I enrolled for the Jan 19th BC exam but it was same story, same disappointment and then I realized that I had to do something more extraordinary.

I joined the Wasseynewest’s WhatsApp group, met with amazing tutors like Busayomi, Jenny and Fidelis- these people are the real MVPs and may God bless you. If you are having difficulty with IELTS, please I implore you to join one of the task group cos u will definitely not regret it if u put ur heart into it. I didn’t register until I was sure and confident about my writing skills. I registered with MOD this time- talk about trying something new. Plus at this time, I booked for medicals and was scheduled for the 21st so I travelled down to Lagos on the 20th, slept over at Fountain hotel (got this location on Nairaland) which is just 2 buildings from Qlife. I was doing all these in faith, trusting God to make it work together for my good. I traveled with my family cos of the medical and we were the 2nd person on the list so we finished by 10:30am and we moved straight to OGUDU Ikeja for my speaking test.

Chaiiii, I had the worst speaking exam ehn because my examiner came so late, thus, the speaking module scheduled for 2pm happened around some minutes to 5pm. Anxiety and stress na wrong combination as I was totally worn out and could barely talk to the examiner. My hubby and children too had a frustrating experience waiting for me outside- what we do for love. Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. On the day of the LWR exam, my seat was positioned near a candidate that could not read silently, he was also either knocking the desk with his pencil or pressing his knuckles. Two weeks later, the result came out and was LWRS 8.5 6.5 7 7.5 and I immediately went for a remark of my writing cos I was confident of what I wrote. Followed through with IDP Australia and God was by my side as my writing was upgraded. Sitting pretty on CRS 466, I got ITA yesterday.

This journey is not for the faint at heart, there were times that I thought the whole migration thing wasn’t meant for me. If u have to do it countless times, just keep at it because eventually it will pay off. Apologies for the long post ooooo

4 bags, a baby and a madam, we entered MMIA by 11:30 am. Our boxes were slightly overweight, but the lady checked them in. Proceeded to collection of boarding pass. The ticket issue was resolved right at the desk, the officer was able to make a note on it in case of subsequent questioning. That was done in good time too and we had to go off to departures. It was an emotional one for my FIL and wife, made me realize much more that this step had to be worth it.

FIL left and we proceeded into the departure hall, one or two conversations with the customs officers and that was it. No direct request for ‘shai shai’. It was coded in their exceptional attention and services, so we were not obliged to. We just did at our own discretion.
We departed at about 3:40pm. The 5 hours flight was good. We were served about 30 minutes into our journey. Brethren, the hunger that was wiring us had doctorate degree. We were prepared to eat the worst. When the meal finally came it was redemption song for us! Amen! We ate everything, even the one that was supposed to be dessert follow join. We kuku get Flagyl for hand. I asked for cereal for baby, although we had packed in the diaper bag. The hostess was not forthcoming, so I asked for another meal so the mother would eat for two. Lol. We were given bassinet for the baby, I guess it was because we had picked the bulkhead seats for that flight when we checked in on line. She didn’t stay in it though. By the time the second meal came, we now started forming posh as hunger no dey matter again. There was a central in-flight entertainment that we weren’t interested in.

We landed in Cairo, and had a stopover of two hours. The flight to Toronto was cool too. No bassinet. Good meals. We had eaten twice before they woke us up again for breakfast. I had to ask wetin we con dey chop since? In- flight entertainment was okay. Wifey watched different movies, while I was stuck on the satellite movement of the plane. 12 hours later, we landed in YYC baibeeeee!!! I stylishly shaku-shakued into the airport. Sincerely, this place is not overrated, the people are cool, friendly, exceptionally good to babies. We were asked basic questions at the point of entry including how much we were coming with and if we had goods to follow. We proceeded to immigration to stamp our COPR and process our PR card. The guy that attended to us was awesome. We waited for few minutes and we were advised on when we will get our PR cards. Then he said, ‘Welcome to Canada’. The handout they gave us to read ehn, no be here. The books contain information that would be needed. We proceeded to get our SIN and it was smooth too.

Our connecting flight to Alberta was in 4hrs, so we ate and roamed the airport. We boarded our Air Canada flight and it was okay. Meals were served at different prices except water which was free. There was in-flight entertainment. We landed about 2:30pm Calgary time. I walked out of the airport to get a taxi, I had to do a reverse (Micheal Jackson's moonwalk style) back in immediately. The cold that touched my skull ehn. Got Uber to take us to our Airbnb apartment. Eyes closed, we didn’t wake up until midnight same day.

So far, we have registered for health services, gotten our phone lines, opened bank accounts, been to the settlement agency, accommodation is almost sorted. Our cargo also arrived in one week from cargo date. So the ministry of Poundo and Egusi elemi meje continues although wifey has said we should be eating posh food. Lessons learnt so far; Its everybody’s country, do not be intimidated. Be kind and ask questions politely. Reading did not stop at IELTS, this is just the beginning. Read everything, receipts, contracts, coupons, laws, agreements e.t.c so you don’t enter one chance. Having a car is a necessity, the expanse of land is crazy, the country is freaking big. For those who have friends helping them around, give those friends a tight hug cos they are saving you alot. Uber fare is crazy. Grocery shopping is not so bad except for those that buy names. You only have to check and recheck for discounts and offers. Know why you are here, don’t do follow follow. In all, I am certain it’s gonna be a good place. Besides my phonetics is changing small small o, I can’t help it. *winks* All the best guys.

my friend ,my friend. No goodbyes? Anyways, just keep praying for me because I am joining you soon

I would suggest that you send them another email and maybe attach the approved time-off your boss has given you. This should motivate them to reschedule the speaking test.

Once, someone had to come out of town to write the test in Lagos, in the proof of payment email the person stated boldly her time frame availability and suggested dates for the speaking test and MOD honoured it and scheduled her when she wanted.

Please just make your case explicitly to them.

thank you. I will do as advised. I never knew I was to inform them ahead

Thank you so much but this is not possibly this time because a lot of things had to shift around to make the two days happen.
Topsmamen:

Any way you could plead with your boss to allow you shift your 2-day leave forward? Or if possible, split the 2-day leave i.e. take March 15 off just in time to travel for the Speaking test on March 16 and then take March 22 off to write the other sections on March 23. Hope your boss agrees because at this point, the only option is to travel to Lagos to attend the Speaking test.

@ ifeoma77, your prophesy has come to pass! I remember you telling the lady with those ITA emotional rollercoaster to "Decline! Decline!! Decline!!!" her ITA again and I silently said a prayer for her. I can't remember her moniker but I am super elated for her today!
I am too and I hope she did

When the Lord turned again the captivity of
2nd GCMS – ordered
It was while I was doing a search about low IELTS score that I came across this thread. I then knew I had to also evaluate my master’s degree to make a good CRS point.
Study materials; IELTSLiz, Road to IELTS (BC) and I also did a free IELTS course on Edx.

ECA – I used WES. I hadn’t looked at the express entry process in detail, so I felt I could just use only my first degree. That was before the IELTS incident. Besides I have plans to continue a career with my first degree as my master’s degree is in a completely different field.
My ECA report came with a comment that the date of birth on my transcript was different form what I filled in my form. My school had increased my age by four years! shocked The excitement of getting my ECA just died when I saw the comment. I wrote to WES via the contact form and twitter. I also faxed copies of my birth certificate, WAEC certificate, international passport and even national ID card, all showing my correct date of birth. WES replied me after one month saying my school must resend my transcript with the correct information before they can send me an updated ECA report. Thanks to the good people I spoke with who assured me that I could go ahead and use the report like that. So, while I waited for WES to respond, I had gotten ITA and submitted my application. After seeing their response, I was glad I didn’t wait a whole month to continue with the process. In my application I attached all the documents I sent to WES to prove my correct date of birth and explained the mistake.

PCC – Superintendent Moshood to the rescue.

Medicals – this was done at IOM and I requested for a copy of my result which was sent via email

POF – One good thing that came from my retrenchment was my pay off grin. I changed it to dollars and put in a domiciliary account, I wanted to make it less accessible to me and avoid exchange rate issues.

NOC – I spent two months trying to find a matching NOC for my last job role to no avail. I shared it on the thread but couldn’t find a code for it. Following Newmum0615’s advise I decided to use my previous job role as my primary NOC since it spanned over three years.
Visa refusals – I had two UK visa refusals which I mentioned and attached one of the rejection letters. I was concerned about this because the reason for the second refusal had to do with the VO doubting my employment details. And the same job turned out to be the one I couldn’t find a NOC for. My fear was that It would give more weight to the UK VO’s comments. So, I got a reference letter from my company even though I no longer worked there. I also wrote a LOE addressing the comments by the UK VO and attached other documents relating to the said job.

Others – After I got my first GCMS notes and saw that the issue about my date of birth was not mentioned, I felt relieved.
- I called a couple of times before November 2018, since that time I haven’t been able to reach IRCC.
- I also sent a couple of mails to Ottawa VO and they always gave the same generic response.
- I sent a mail on the 24th after the ghost update to enquire what the update was about, and I got the passport request mail the next morning
- Losing my job was the wake up call I needed. I was depressed for some months (still comes and goes) and I would lie in bed until noon. I have always been independent so losing my job was like being stripped naked, I didn’t want to go out or be seen. My younger brother called me and encouraged me to continue with the Canada immigration plan (I had already registered with WES). I will never forget his words, approach this thing like you’re escaping for your life, like someone is trying to strangle you and you must fight. My ECA took eight months to complete and anytime I would return from Unilag or call IMSU without any positive news, I would just break down and cry. I was and I’m still out of job, my savings depleting and I always have this fear of having to ask for money to sustain myself.

I am currently filling visa applications for them
This brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful God is. Am so happy for you and I pray for mine too

DrMrsCK:
I have come again o! Please I need your advice on POF. Spouse provided 100% funds. 50% was transferred into my account last year which I put into a fixed deposit
We plan to show spouse's SOA in order to explain the source of funds and also show the transfer to me then add a letter of explanation.

You don’t have to do Top up. You can have as many fixed deposits as possible or you can Top up and keep a copy of the former proof of investment. The date of investment doesn’t really matter in this situation as the the cogent thing is that you have an investment.

i]. On August 30, 2018, ECA landed. LLB = 4yr Bachelors Degree equivalent, Law School = 1 year Post Graduate Diploma.
Without much ado, I plunged into the pool - head first - with a CRS of 474.

POF
I got 2 bank reference letters, one was in the required format; the other, not quite but I didn’t care much. No account statements!

PCC
I paid 17k for my Nigerian PCC!
The police man scanned the documents to me in color, I affixed my fingerprints and scanned back to him with copies of my passport photo and passport document data page. FBI PCC was a breeze.

MEDICALS:
I paid $375USD for My medicals! Insurance no dey gree cover immigration medicals. I was emailed my medical report in 2days.

TICK…TOCK…
I submitted my application on September 14, 2018 when my passport had about one-month validity. I had already requested a new one though so I raised a CSE when it arrived.
So, I thought I would receive PPR within 3 weeks because people have been preaching that US residents get faster processing times. But I waited, and waited, and waited – for PPR. After a few weeks, I became agitated upon realizing that I did not state my internship experience withagain! People with later AOR dates were getting PPR left, right and center, yet US residents were not moving (per immitracker).

HUSTLE YOUR OWN PPR!

After I got the two ghost updates, I called IRCC on January 7, and was told my file had been approved but that it might take a little more time for me to receive the PPR email. At that time, I had read how people were hustling their own PPR from NDVO, I quickly joined the hustle and in less than 24hrs, I got my own PPR. (By the way, I think NDVO has stopped that benevolence). I requested a change of VFS to submit my passport but received no response in that regard.

After waiting for some days, I sha submitted my passport with my local VAC and the rest is history!

PS: Application was on IP2 from AOR to PPR and file never left the CIO.

I want to thank this family for the selflessness and love that radiates all corners of this thread. Despite the fights that occur at intervals, we all know that “what binds us together is stronger than what pulls us apart” per Obama POTUS (as he then was).

And those to whom this may matter: Do not start this journey on your own accord, but “…in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall (it’s a certainty) direct your path”. Wherever you are encountering difficulties, do not hesitate to ask God for the wisdom to surmount the obstacles because He gives (wisdom) to all men generously! (James 1:5). Never forget that to an infinite God, all finites are equal. And when Jesus walked out of that tomb, impossibility became an illusion!
this last part really inspired me. Impossibility is now an illusion
