PoliticsRe: Have Nigerian Taxi Drivers Suddenly Become Rich Or Telling Fantastic Stories by Richtronix(m): 3:13pm On Mar 25, 2010
I really cant see the issue here as hard work always reaps its rewards.  Here in London, I have a friend that works as a cabbie, although his social life is poor he makes enough money to feed his family and at the same time has TWO Mercedes, one's an estate he uses for work and the other is an E- Class he uses for pleasure and social runs.

Although its not for everybody given the risks (robbery, psycho attacks, racism etc, ) it sure beats poverty or looking over your shoulder all the time if you are 'odu' (job man) inclined.

During the last recession a lot of guys that floundered in IT ended up doing it as 'cowboys' (illegal cabbing) just to pay the bills.

Everyone HAS to make a living and in this case I believe it is fully possible to own property and have Naija based businesses.

Hard CashFlow = Investment opportunities = Increased wealth.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Champions League Draw! by Richtronix(m): 6:51pm On Mar 19, 2010
Hmmn.

A lot of hot air from a lot of nonentities that have probably never attended a CL game in their lives.

CL Football is not about reputations, its all about who performs on the day.

Juve
Roma
Milan
Inter
Villareal

Have all been dealt fatal blows when they were favoured to go through.

Arsenal were unfortunate to have Lehmann sent off in the 06 Final (I was there btw) but still gave a good account of themselves with 10 men

Come on ARSENAL stuff the haters.

HealthRe: Mosquito 'vaccinates As It Bites' by Richtronix(m): 3:19pm On Mar 19, 2010
another way of introducing a new infectionhuh
Good point.

Infact I'd go as far as saying these frankenstein type experiments will go as far as introducing worse mutations into the ecosystem.

Im against it simply because there are other ways that can be explored i.e. new more potent drugs, sterilization of the mosquito speciesthat carry malaria so eventually they die out etc,

TV/MoviesRe: Kajola: Nollywood Science Fiction To Be Released Soon by Richtronix(m): 7:17pm On Mar 15, 2010
Ok.

Its not perfect, but some of you clowns/haters/badbelle/ingrates need to appreciate the vision and creativity behind it i.e its DIFFERENT.

Every major film industry (Hollywood, Pinewood, Bollywood) went thorugh phases of development and perfected their arts through both good and bad productions.

Im quite sure that if the Director/Producer was some non-entity white man you jokers would be on here salivating and trampling on each other to get tickets.

Lets support our own, they will eventually come good.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Overseas Told To Come Home and Fight by Richtronix(m): 6:54pm On Mar 15, 2010
This thread is silly in my opinion, a great majority of those abroad have family back home (at least I can speak for myself and a lot of my friends here in the UK) there is none of those I know who doesn't dream of going back home someday so why should anyone associate war mongering with Nigerians in the diaspora if such a person isn't out of his senses?
All we ask for is improvement in the quality of life back home and I'm sure there are a great many people living in Nigeria who want the same. Individuals may differ in how they believe this can be achieved but only a mumu like the OP can automatically equate an healthy interest in the development of your place of birth to war mongering for selfish purposes.
It is people like the OP who obsfucate issues and create unnecessary divisions which prevent us from moving forward as a people. A Nigerian in the diaspora is still a Nigerian at heart, I wonder why some blockheads simply can't understand something so simple, to paraphrase Arsene Wenger, "It is either they are mentally deficient or just plain malicious".
Post of The Day. I applaud you. grin

PropertiesRe: In Need Of A Roofing Quote by Richtronix(op): 3:43pm On Mar 12, 2010
Thank you Aasog, I was hoping to get a response from you. The building has an existing asbestos roof, cant the wood structure be reused or does it have to be completely stripped and rebuilt from scratch? Once again thanks for the replies (, also Bonnie Fran). The site is just off the Old Akute Road (Iju Station). The property is a fully detached bungalow.

Thanks.

Christianity EtcRe: Christian Tattoos by Richtronix(m): 5:02pm On Mar 09, 2010
Just one question:

What about tribal marks before the advent of Christianity in Africa?

Their purpose was to define and identify, yet could easily be described as 'mutilation' or 'scarification'.

Hence why I see no harm in tatooing as long as you live according to Jesus' teachings and believe He is the only way.
PoliticsRe: Religious Battle Looms In Ibadan by Richtronix(m): 3:33pm On Mar 09, 2010
Thats my point Fhemmy, Nigerians especially should deal with our own problems first before adding those of religion/sectarianism. There are a thousand and one more pressing issues than stirring up hatred in different parts of the country. wink
PoliticsRe: Religious Battle Looms In Ibadan by Richtronix(m): 3:17pm On Mar 09, 2010
Arrest the idiot and try him for inciting religious hatred.  angry

This is what happens when faith becomes fanaticism. Its also the reason why most western cultures see organised religion as a backward step when instead of mooting solutions to common and pressing problems, all we are concerned about is petty upmanship, murder and hatred in the name of religion.

Who says God cannot fight his own battles?

Christianity EtcRe: Natural Disaster Will Soon Hit Nigeria - Adeboye by Richtronix(m): 6:20pm On Mar 08, 2010
OK.

I will try and make this as objective and as clean as possible without trying to offend anyone.

As a Christian, I believe in the gift of prophesy HOWEVER I find it hard to believe anyone that does not lead an exemplary life which 99.9% of our religious leaders fail to do. Its another argument to say Adeboye falls into this category or not but geographically he also mentioned the MOST likely natural disaster that can befall Nigeria -flood.

If at all he mentioned something like a volcano or an earthquake, I would take it to be a complete fabrication because geographically there are no major fault lines or active ranges within our area.  If the Atlantic does rise it will be the effect of activity elsewhere and the flooding cannot be a tidal wave rather an inundation of sorts, whether or not this leads to a loss of life remains to be seen.

I 'd rather preach a gospel of hope and redemption through Christ than resort to prophesising doom.

Especially in a troubled violent and unstable country like ours.

Just my personal opinion.

Seriously Brainwashed. grin

If her problem is genuinely with her weight, all she needs to do is get her fat lazyarse down the gym, change her eating habits to smaller portions and lower carb meals and finally get a professional makeover.

Its got nothing to do with being black but a lot to do with being ignorant and unintelligent.
PoliticsRe: This Is The Reason Fashola Does Not Want To Be Probed - A Must Read. by Richtronix(m): 4:11pm On Feb 24, 2010
Anyone in political power is ACCOUNTABLE to any form of scrutiny the Electorate or masses subject him to. That is the basis of good governance, so all these irrelevant and uninformed arguments for proof of any wrongdoing are baseless. The onus is on Governor Fashola to prove with cogent facts (i.e monthly, quarterly and yearly public accounts) that he did not misappropriate any public funds.

At the end of the day he is a PUBLIC SERVANT, not some kind of demi-god.

PoliticsRe: How Colonial Powers Empowered The North by Richtronix(m): 7:38pm On Feb 16, 2010
Again another tribalistic, irrelevant and totally unneccessary post by ignorant nincompoops that are no different from the scumbag terrorists that inhabit the planet.

This entire post shows why the British and other European nations were able to colonise Africa and till this day why they are still able to economically enslave us by division.

I'm too much of an enlightened man to start an online flame war based on ethnicity, but all I can advise you is that your imbecilic behaviour is not only pathetic but boring. People are making decent beings of themselves and you muppets come on here day in day out to exchange tribal insults.

Grow up. angry
PoliticsRe: Civil war not against Ndigbo — Gowon by Richtronix(m): 12:45pm On Feb 15, 2010
Reading through these posts I'm overwhelmingly saddened by the tribalistic and prejudiced tones most of these have taken.  A nation of 50 years still trying to reconcile a Civil War fought 40 odd years ago, yet all these morons still come on here to espouse their hate and bigotry.

A crying shame that the current generation fail to realise that the only way forward is reconciliation, forgiveness and to learn from the lessons of the War, in which millions of innocent lives were lost. As it stands, there were no victors, only a legacy of evil and hatred that stops us from moving forward.

Ojukwu, Gowon, Adekunle and Obasanjo  all tried to do what was necessary, but not what was right. So none of them should be quoted as heroes or role models because IMHO all of them failed us as a nation. We need to look beyond tribal differences and treat each other on merit and ability. Change starts from one person and we dont need our incompetent government to inspire our people.

Remember we are one,

Increase The Peace.
PropertiesRe: My Problem With Instalmental Payment For Land. Why I Will Never Endorse It by Richtronix(m): 6:19pm On Feb 09, 2010
grin

Everybody take a deep deep breath. Calm down.

Lawyer is right. Omo- oniles only take part payments if they intend to dupe you or look for other unsuspecting buyers who they will join you to. As he rightly mentioned, proper estates and land with C/O are harder to manipulate because of the processes involved. It doesnt take a genius to work out the fact that if you do pay in instalments, you really dont have any real claim to the land, other than you paid one Alagbara(Strongman) x amount of your hard earned cash.

I also have 'previous' with land dealings so dont just look at my postings as Bobo Londoner.

A word is enough for the wise.

For the minority of Omo-oniles that may be genuine, all I can advise is that you have strong connections to the aforementioned, otherwise you will end up regretting the whole deal.

Remember its a discussion not a slanging match. .
