it's more like a responsibility...cus some women go through very tough pregnancy period than others..so it's good the man goes with her so he will hear what the doctor has to say,that way he will know how to support the wife through that period...cus some men don't believe when the wife tells them the things the doctor told her,the man will think she is just seeking excess attention.
