Today is the second day since the Ghanians started voting for a new president. So far so good. My wife traveled all the way to Ghana just to caste her vote, shes voting for NPP candidate Nana Addoo. Last week I told her NPP cannot win bc this is Africa and we know the siting president has power over the police/army/judiciary/electoral commission etc. This morning my wife called and said the opposition party NPP is leading with 51% of the votes counted, though only 43 out of 200 and something constituencies have been counted so far. HPP candidate is from Ashanti Region while the sitting president and NDC candidate is a Christian from Northern Region. Is it possible for opposition party to win presidential election in Nigeria? This is an area Nigeria needs to learn from Ghana. So far no ballot box has been snatched in Ghana, just few minor cases here and there. I know their smaller population is an advantage but how many Nigerians come home to cast their votes, what we normally do is go to the internet and rant against our politicians which has little or no effect. I know many Ghanaian friends in Europe that came home for this election. Many Ghanaians say life is becoming unbearable for the average Ghanaian so they need a change of government, this is why so many of them are rooting for the NPP to return to power. I can testify the NPP government of Kuffour was miles ahead of the present NDC government. If I close my eyes I can mention so many mega projects Kuffour gave Ghanians. Starting from ALL the major highways under construction in Accra, some have been completed already. The Biu Dam project etc. The first time I came to Ghana we used to laugh that Accra had only 4 flyovers which is true but Kuffour did alot of road construction with the millennium challenge account. I know its too early to know who will win this election but my prayers are with Ghanians and I wish them the best of luck. I pray for the best candidate to win. No matter how we rant and curse each other on the internet, we are brothers. Every derogatory word i use against Ghanians or Yoruba people is not from my heart, i only respond to silly people that insult Nigeria or Igbo. In real life some of my best friends are from Yoruba and Ghana. I will be updating this page as i get more info. |

Okija Juju will never stop hating Rochas and Ndi Imo. Are there no erosion problems in Anambra state,why did you go to a whole Imo State and the only pic you took was the bad spots? No matter how we try to deceive ourselves on the internet, it cannot change FACTS on ground. What Rochas has achieved under 2 years I doubt if peter obi can achieve it in 8 years. |

doctorjohn: Please permit me to use this medium to let nigerians know how unreliable our banks are. I have a domicilliary account wit first bank nigeria at owerri douglas road branch. I transfer some money for some business transactions on friday 16th on this month . Since then the money has not gotten to the recipient.You dont rush to conclusions just bc of this singular incidence. I have used First back to transfer funds to the UK and the receiver received it within 3 days. If you board British Airways today and the plane crashes, that doesn't mean BA is the worst airline in the world. The receiver fit don receive d fund and pretend. The money cannot be hanging on air, its either they credit receivers account or they return your money within 3days. I once made international TT and the receivers account was wrong and my money was returned back to my account after few days. But your case is strange, your money cannot be floating on air for weeks now, write a petition to First Bank head office if your branch is not giving you good answers. Also, if you are a businessman that do a lot of transfers i will recommend you use GTB next time, their international TT is faster than any bank in 9ja, Diamond bank is good also. On a final note, a good businessman in 9ja must have good relationship with his account officer or top bank managers. Once in a while you take them out and when things like this happen they will sort it for you without you coming to the bank. I do many transactions that I don't need to go to my bank. Nna anyi, thats the name almost every Ghanaian female calls me each time i travel to Ghana. They got that word from watching Nigerian movies. I am hearing this kind of story for the first time, I dont know why I would be living with a girlfriend in the university instead of concentrating on my studies. |

Why is this thread not on the front page? If it were lagos state or any state in the south west it will make front page within few minutes ?It seems suen and his moderators actually hate anything that has to do with igbo? Look at people like Dayokonu, illeke idi, geez, eko Atlantic etc, 80% of their posts is anti igbo, but i get banned any single day i challenge them on Nairaland? If this is not tribalism then tell me what it is. Nairaland is anti Igbo forum, all the posts about beautiful pics of owerri got deleted within few days for no just reason. Stupid Nigerians, always fast to condemn the Nigerian government but most of you are worst than the people ruling the country... The government banned these same networks from issuing promotions and some of you even complained on this same forum. Now Ghana has done same and you have started praising them? If you guys hate Nigeria so much what are you guys still doing in Nigeria? What contributions are you noise makers are making to move the country forward? There is serious network problem in Ghana since last month, this is not just an MTN problem. Its very very difficult to make phone calls within Ghana. Rochas is on point. I wish the FG will start to make such publications because there are many projects that are awarded and rewarded several times without accountability. Within the past few years the East West road in the Niger Delta has been awarded to different contractors by different governments, yet the road is a death trap till now. From OBJ to Yaradua and now GEJ, till date we dont know how much was paid and what % of job done. DAYLIGHT ROBBERY if you ask me... The Second Niger bridge project was announced to have been awarded by OBJ, then Yaradua awarded the same contract and now GEJ is awarding the same contract again. WE NIGERIANS ARE DUMB, WE DESERVE THE KIND OF LEADERS WE HAVE IN THIS COUNTRY... From this list now I know the truth about the 4 road projects Rochas is constructing in my village. We were told they stopped work bc of the rainy season, some contractors said they were never paid any money. But from this list now I know the contractors has been lying all along. IF THE CONTRACTOR GIVE US SUB STANDARD ROAD WE WILL MAKE THEIR LIFE MISERABLE. THIS MUST BE ENCOURAGED AT FEDERAL LEVEL. Kudos to Rochas 1 Like |

I ran 5 successful businesses in 2 regions of ghana and i only moved my most important businesses out of ghana because of the constant attack on Nigerian businesses. I have NEVER enjoyed 7 days of uninterrupted electricity in any part of Ghana. There is steady light in my village in Imo State, electricity can last in my village for 7 days NON stop, this happens in enugu and many other parts of Nigeria. Just like in Nigerian, every business in Ghana has generator bc the public power is not reliable. There has never been any time in Nigeria where there is GENERAL BLACKOUT in Nigeria as a whole. But on 4 occasions, THE ENTIRE GHANA WAS PLUNGED INTO DARKNESS AND CHAOS. 2 times this year there was blackout in the entire country, meaning all REGIONS OF GHANA. These are FACTS that anyone can check/confirm online... NOBODY makes any announcements about any power disruptions in ghana, the electricity in ghana goes on and off like Nigeria. My wife is Ghanaian, i still have 2 smaller businesses in ghana (for my wifes family) so i know what goes on in ghana. You can tell those lies to those who havent been to ghana. In West Africa Ghana is more or less the least developed and my wife confirms this. We have businesses in Ivory Coast and Senegal, ghana is light hears behind these countries in development. These countries have similar population with Ghana so i wonder what is the problem with ghana ? Ivory Cost does not have any gold, oil or diamonds like Ghana. Ivory Coast has only Cocoa but it is 7 times more developed than ghana? Why is that? The cocoa house in Ivory coast is a world class mansion over 20 stories high, but the ghana cocoa house is a mere 5 story building that is not worth even $200,000? Talking about igbo or yoruba makes you dumber than dumb. Kwasia man, you are likely from ewe or ashanti bc these are the group of people holding ghana back. YOU CAN NEVER SEE A REAL GHANAIAN CHALLENGING A NIGERIAN. THE REAL GHANAINS ARE FROM FANTE, ewe are from togo and Nana Addo has promised to send them back to togo if he wins the election tomorrow. |
