Nigerians are studying in Ghana bc there is NOT ENOUGH UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA. The schools cant go round, every Nigerian wants to go to university and the route to gain university education in Nigeria is hard. In Ghana there is no JAMB or UTME. Nigerians are schooling in over 100 countries around the world including Togo and Benin Republic and even Pakistan and India, the same way rich Ghanaian parents send their children to study in Malaysia, Europe, Cuba, Russian, Ukraine etc. If your Ghanaian schools are good enough then THE GOVERNMENT OF GHANA WILL NOT GIVE ITS CITIZENS SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN CUBA, UKRAINE etc.

In West Africa Senegal and Ivory Coast are countries that should be talking and bragging with Nigerians because these countries are bigger economies than Ghana and they are by far more developed. The 3 police guys that were handling his laptop does not even know how to open an internet browser, they dont know how to operate a computer. The Ghana election was largely peaceful, just minor incidents here and there. There were places where machomen snatched ballot boxes and there were other areas where angry voters stormed a certain building where they claim NDC was rigging election with Israeli company or so.
My wife labelled all the way to Ghana to caste her vote. I don't know if any Nigerian is actually praying for war or crisis in another country, let alone Ghana?

2 ballot boxes missing at Zabzugu

Two ballot boxes from one of the polling stations at the Zabzugu Constituency in the Northern Region have gone missing.

Counting of the ballots in the polling centre stalled because of the lighting issues, correspondents say.

The presiding officer of the polling centre, together with polling agents, under police escort, deposited the ballot boxes at the collation centre.

But when all interested persons gathered Saturday for the tallying of the results, electoral officers announced that the ballot boxes of one of the 56 polling stations in the Zabzugu Constituency could not be found.

The District Police Commander for the area admitted escorting the ballot to the collation centre.

He said the police, together with EC officials, were searching for the missing ballot boxes.

Despite this, voters, correspondents say, have remained calm.

Ablekuma North: Machomen (BIG MUSCLE MEN) burn ballot papers



A group of machomen stormed the collation centre of the Ablekuma North constituency of Accra and set the ballot papers ablaze.

Meanwhile, both NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates - Joe Appiah and Ras Mubarak - have been accusing each other of hiring the services of these machomen, Joy News' Etonarm Sey reported on Saturday.

However, deputy returning officer for the constituency, Owusu Nkansah suspected that the NDC is behind the thugs' action.

Mr Nkansah told Joy News they were at the Kwashieman collation centre tabulating the result when it was detected that the results from a particular polling station was yet to arrive. They were however able to trace the presiding officer for that polling station who came to the centre with the party agents of both parties: the agents certified the result in the presence of all, including the candidates.

He recounted that in the course of collating the results, some machomen “trooped” into the place and threatened that the results would not be accepted, insisting that the election should be rerun.

“Before I could say Jak”, he recalled, the hoodlums holding petrol poured them on the ballot papers and set them on fire.

Mr Nkansah said police were called in to intervene, and some of the thugs were arrested and sent to the Odokor Police Station.

The rest of the materials have been escorted to the police station where Mr Nkansah insists collation would be done and results declared without the burnt papers.

Superintendent Baffour Appenteng, the officer in charge of investigations at the Great Accra Regional Elections Task-Force, confirmed the incident to Joy News.

He said preliminary investigations into the incident led to the retrieval of the can from which petrol was poured over electoral materials at the collation centre and set ablaze.

Supt. Appenteng said three persons arrested in connection with the arson were currently in police custody and would be put before court after investigations were complete.

Meanwhile, hundreds of supporters of both candidates thronged the police station creating confusion. A combine team of police and military personnel are finding it difficult to calm tension down.

Etorney Sey observed that the security would need reinforcement to bring the situation under control.

I think elections are largely free and fair in Ghana. The people are also becoming more awake to their civic duty. A crazy number of registered voters, over 94%, showed up to vote. When I saw all my Ghanaian friends yesterday after the election in the Labone, Osu and Cantonment area, circa 8pm, they all had blackened fingers from voting !!! Certainly beautiful to witness. Absolutely superb and a bit like seeing the statement "self-actualisation" in motion.

I think the people are truly electing their leaders here. They are also minutely scrutinising the history, pledges and policies of leaders. No silly "boy with no shoes" type gimmick will sell in this Country. Folks need to be aware of your history and virtually all candidates have noted this to focus strongly on promoting their past achievements and successes. All in all, I have been impressed with what I have seen. I still think Akuffo-Addo will win but it is a tight race so far.

Sarkodie is now being accused of stabbing his Tema based associates R2Bees by going ahead to perform at the just concluded Top of the world celebration.

It is on record that R2Bees did not perform at the event and was replaced by ever ready Samini.

The R2Bees Case

This fabulous group is good, they have every right to start a revolution for the GH music industry. One thing baffles me though, was there a contract signed between Charter House and R2Bees prior to the later discovery of the amount paid to the Nigerian group P Square?

If the answer is ‘yes’, then R2Bees must have negotiated their way to that amount or offer in the first place. There is no way that Guinness will publish the names of the artistes (P Square, Sarkodie, & R2Bess) that will perform during this show if the deal has not been sealed. Every man is rewarded according to his genius so R2Bees subsequent rebellion to contract is wrong.

It appears that it stems from envy of P Square’s accomplishments and levels. R2Bees are not there yet, they cannot imagine themselves being on the same level and standard like P square. The recent agitation from this R2Bees at this time to their successful brothers P Square who kept preaching the promotion of Ghana music industry by the media is not a positive development.

Peter and Paul were looking forward to meeting with R2Bees and Sarkodie. They were amazed with their absence during the press conference.

All fingers are not equal, and one must take into consideration the efforts, the time, the hard work, in short P square deserve what they were paid, and truly justified that fee. Their performance was passionate, dramatic, friendly, fun, interactive, and humorous. They entertained the fans, were kind to the injured and will call the security to assist the fainted. This kind of people do not deserve R2Bees treatment.

Sarkodie’s Position

Sarkodie performed that night not because of the money, not because he does not care about R2Bees but he needed to protect his interest and career. Sarkodie who came out with a rushed single ‘The Truth’ after his inability to perform at the multi TV show knows that the last thing he should do is to come out and apologize to his fans or sing another song why he did not perform again the second time in a row, and this time around the reason will be small fees paid to him compared to P Square? That would have been a dumb move, so he played smart and wise.

He is an entertainer and you negotiate your fees and not comparing your pay to another no matter where the person comes from. R2Bees is sowing a bad seed of discord under the guise that Nigerian musicians should not earn what they deserve.

If such regional conflict is fueled by this Tema based group then one day it could become a national disaster. Sarkodie’s performance was critical to his relationship with Nigeria. He values the Nigerian market and knows that any form of envy to P Square might affect his opportunities in Nigeria. Sarkodie will not be manipulated or dictated by an R2Bees Alliance, such alliance will not produce something positive.

There are many advantages of performing on the stage, everything is not about money, and I know if R2Bees will listen to God, he will tell them that the love of money is the root of all evil, and Life goes on when you turn your back on opportunities.
