grin

Is it God or Mr Jonathan that is ruling Nigeria, I wonder.

How can anyone have faith in a leader like this? Aside from sounding unprofessional and unrefined, he always sounds weak . Unable to take a firm stance on the issues that Nigerians elected him for.

So many mentions of "God". Can someone give this man a clear job description sheet, he seems to have delegated his duties to "God" and/or hope that the prayers of the people would get his job done.

This is NOT a president!

Religion / Re: Why Are Jerusalem And Mecca More Sacred Than Ife? by rinrin23(f): 9:28pm On Dec 26, 2014
Our people make it that way because

1. They don't know (or choose not to know) their history. They know that of the Jews and the Arabs.
2. And/or because they've been conditioned into thinking that their cultural heritage is 'evil/demonic'.
3. Not enough white men have considered it sacred enough for it to convince the average colonised black man that they should consider it sacred.

Although I believe it's more of No. 1

Can “oyinbo” (British people for that matter), be so nice and generous to the same people who they seek to control in the past? I’m just wondering why the UK will not return our stolen artifacts but will generously return our Papa without us even asking. Can anyone be this nice in returning a priced treasure to the owners at no cost? But anyway, thank you for giving us our Papa, you (oyinbo people) do not know anything that is good for you. We know, so, we keep him fed and fat .

I laughed too hard at this grin . Thank you for sharing.

Wow!!

Hmmm. People are here killing themselves while they're over there enjoying a wonderful Christmas.

It beats many people's imaginations, and it is difficult for some people to understand, how a man can see all the women all over the place and still "choose" to be with a fellow man. But I thought that the best cure for lack of understanding is to try and understand not hostility. Trying to understand why some people prefer to be with people of the same sex and cannot be with members of the opposite sex is what we should be doing.

When you don't understand something, the best response of a civilized mind is to study that something and try to make a head or tail out of it and not just dismissing that something and becoming antagonistic towards anything that has to do with it.

A fellow human being tells you he is sexually attracted to a person of same gender and cannot be aroused by a person of opposite sex. He tells you he has had such feelings for as long as he can remember. He tells you the number of prayers, fasting sessions, deliverance sessions and other things that he has done to "cure" himself. He tells you how dejected and depressed he feels about himself and his life sometimes. He tells you that it might be easier for him to commit suicide than to have sex with a girl. And even apart from his words, you can really see how deeply unhappy and sad he is. You see all these things and he tells you all these things but you find it so difficult to believe him.

But a book written more than 2000 years ago by desert dwellers tells you that the Red Sea was divided, tells you a donkey spoke, tells you that River Jordan stopped flowing, tells you that the Sun stood still, tells you that 5000 people, not counting women and children, were fed with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and you have no iota of scruples believing such stories.

But even that same bible asks us:
How can we say we love God, whom we haven't seen, when we don't love our fellow brothers who we can see?

I know some black (Nigerian) Christians that get upset at just the possibility of their god being black. The black man has lost all form of identity outside of his colonisers. We are independent, however, intellectual and spiritual colonisation still carries on.

How do you help a people that choose to remain ignorant and in bondage?. All I say is merry christmas and watch them carry on with their pagan rituals on this day.

Mr, the aim is to pre-inform the kids before they meet a diferent view so as not to be taken unawares.

The fact is NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH. WE ONLY CHOOSE TO BELIEVE WHAT WE CHOOSE TO BELIVE BASED ON WHAT WE RATE REASONABLE TO US.

TELL THE CHILD UR BELIEF AND THE BELIEF OF THOSE AROUND HIM. AS HE GROWS,HE WILL CHOOSE FOR HIMSELF WHAT TO BELIEVE.HE COULD DEVIATE FROM PARENTS BELIEF .IT IS HIS CHOICE.

HE SHOILD SEE THINGS FROM BOTH PERSPECTIVE SO THAT HE WILL BE MORE TOLERANT AND UNDERSTANDING WHEN HE ENCOUNTERS THEM.

As a kid,he should assume to be an atheist and argue with me on atheism. He would do same for theism.

This will build his ability to reason and argue reasonable too.

How many pre-informing sessions do you plan on having with your kids? Are you going to pre-inform them of every possible view on every possible topic?.
Let the child grow in the form he/she was created, and allow common sense, reason and logic to be their guide. Common sense has never failed anyone, ever.

It is not offensive. It is a lie that your children will easily see through.

With all due respect, I think you are making the typical Christian mistake by deluding your self that your children will think like you and adopt all your worldviews. You are dead wrong.

You ignorantly forget or chose to ignore that Christianity's biggest nemesis is Reason, not atheism.
Your children are 100% guaranteed to come into contact with Reason, and will make s choice whether to embrace Reason or reject it. The odds are that they will likely embrace it.
This is the general trend that has been slowing going on over the past 300+ years.
African is just slowly catching up with the rest of mentally sovereign humanity.

The problem with most Christ-tards is that you ignore reality and isolate your selves in your delusional make-belief cocoons.
By identifying atheism as your threat, you are showing a repeating pattern of denial.

Here, as always, you have chosen to fight an in invisible enemy, rather than face the inevitable firewall of Reason that becons you, as well as all when who approach the age of Reason.

So, your thread, if you are sincere, should be appropriately titled ; How To Protect Your Christian Child From The Onslaughts Of Reason .

He said it doesn't matter that afterwards he will ask for forgiveness. In a nut shell, he called one sunday morning and asked if I was in church; I told him I am not because am an atheist. After several questions of why and when, he caused me and told me to delete his number that he doesn't have anything to do with me again. I laughed and did as he said. gatiano:
first of all, GOD is a MAN, just like me and you, He eats, drinks, talks, listens, walks, works(though he needs not), etc. The difference between GOD and us is that GOD is a man who is supreme in knowledge, wisdom, understanding and all things in all of the whole universe. GOD is a MAN, He marries and have his own kids/children (we are the children/descendant of that GOD) so he dies too, as every man, living thing in the universe must die, even the universe is degrading. but the spirit always will live on in us.

THis man emerged from the triple darkness or the universal egg or womb of darkness. the process by which he emerged is know to only 12 people in the world now, they are called the exalted assembly or Eloheim or the 12 major scientists all men and black. there are also 12 minor scientists. together they make 24 scientists plus the seven governor or arch angels (all blackmen) no wings or stuffs like that. the head of the 24 scientists is GOD. He is one of the 12 major scientists (that is why in the quran, you would see the pronoun "WE" being referred to as GOD).
and in the bible revelations, they are written there, this time 25 and another one called the lamb.

why 24? we have 24 hours a day, and the circumference of the earth is 24,896 miles. and the time it takes the earth to complete one axial cycle is 25000 years. their job is to determine what would happen during the course of every 25000 years. they prepare the scriptures (long details for next time) by means of mathematics and sciences to determine all what would happen and they never miss, that is why evey black child is given a name that has specific meaning.

a man coming out from the triple darkness will have the colour from whence he came out (blackness), and if you do not agree, how then can you explain a dark skin coming from a light skin? this is very impossible, it cannot be done because the lighter skin is recessive to the darker skin (dominant). monkeys came after the white people just 6000 years ago.
the black people have been for more than 76 trillion years. the second person that came to live was a wombman (woman), made very pretty, the blackwoman, nothing has never being as beautiful as the blackwoman or a woman (they are needed to always cover up their body so that men can think. more on that...). The name the Originator gave HIS THRONE IS ALLAH!

We only moved to africa merely 50000 years ago. and the blackman has two people in his sperms, two life germs deep in the nucleus of each sperms, the black and the brown life germs, that is why we have black and a brown looking people. when you graft the brown with the brown, and merging the brownier with the brownier , the lighter unto the lighter, after 200 years you will get full brown man (japanese), another 200 years of grafting lighter japanese onto lighter japanese, 200 years later, the yellow man(chinese), grafting yellow upon yellow for another 200 years, you get white who is completely out of black, made weak, and taught the tricknology or tricks by their black father to rule the black people for 6000 years. we called this people the devil. devil with tricknology is satan.

Greed? Selfishness?? Lack of foresight? Wat exactly?
why were we so gullible? Easily black mailed and threatened to accept foreign dogmas that most certainly don't suit our life style...the Indians didn't let it happen to them, neither did The Asians

I will pull an excerpt from a great book I just read 'Destruction of Black Civilisation' by Chancellor Williams. In his book, Williams reflects on some great ancient African empires which prospered by among other things keeping at bay the white man. It goes a long way in explaining these issues and I hope it answers your questions.

''...the Mossi did not admit any settlement of foreigners in their territory. Mossi people believed that when the first white man appeared in the land the nation would die.'' (a possible corruption of oral history). The Mossi empire were a number of different powerful kingdoms in modern-day Burkina Faso which dominated the region of the upper Volta river for hundreds of years. TheY were particular in having little to no Berber or white influence.

'' … The Portuguese were the first white European people to arrive in West and Central Africa. They were not long in adopting the Arab strategy in dividing the Blacks against themselves – a strategy adopted by all white people.''…”Christian civilisation” served as the charm words in the white man’s magic with the incantations which hypnotised both the victims and himself. They believed they were being introduced to a better life, while the latter convinced himself that even the enslaved people were better under the white standard for civilisation – besides which there was no other. But they were smart enough to realise that the foundation for a permanent empire in the land of another people, built with their own sweat and blood, would be more successful if the minds of the people could be captured first . One did not go in with guns blazing. Only fools did this, except in cases where the “natives” were too damn smart and saw through every scheme, no matter how shining the Cross or how white the extended hand. …First of all, the really big thing was to change the Blacks into the white man’s image – process, which caused Blacks to reject and become ashamed of both their culture and themselves, the only people on earth to do so.''

A lot of these people fought and were able to hold off foreign dominance for decades.

For example Queen Nzinga of Ndongo (present day Angola)- she fearlessly and cleverly fought for the freedom of her people and kingdoms against the Portuguese, who were colonizing the area at the time. Nzinga converted to Christianity, possibly in order to strengthen the peace treaty with the Portuguese. Her kingdom was under attack from both the Portuguese and neighbouring African aggressors. Nzinga realized that in order to achieve peace and for her kingdom to remain viable, she needed to become an intermediary. She allied Ndongo with Portugal, and was baptised as Ana de Sousa Nzinga Mbande with the Portuguese colonial governor serving as her godfather. By doing this she acquired a partner in her fight against her African enemies, and ending Portuguese slave raiding in the kingdom. The new alliance didn’t last very long, however. Portugal betrayed Ndongo in 1626, and Nzinga was forced to flee when war broke out.. To build up her kingdom’s martial power, Nzinga offered sanctuary to runaway slaves and Portuguese-trained African soldiers. She stirred up rebellion among the people still left in Ndongo, now ruled by the Portuguese. Nzinga also reached out to the Dutch and invited them to join troops with her. Even their combined forces were not enough to drive the Portuguese out.
Politics / Re: NIGERIA: A Nation Of Fools by rinrin23(f): 10:00am On Nov 05, 2014
oduastates:
Nigeria’s Fools At Large By M.B.O Owolowo

For definitive purposes, a fool can be described as one who is deficient in judgement, sense, or understanding. It could also mean one who has been tricked or made to appear ridiculous. In some instances, being a fool or being fooled could be occasional, so it may be one who acts unwisely on a given occasion. But, when such an act of foolishness goes beyond the occasional and increases its mode of frequency, there ought to be some level of concern by the discerning.

I was once taught by my teacher that, no one is born foolish, and rightly so. As I gained more exposure to life's dynamics, I realised foolishness could be gradually attained, sometimes subconsciously and often times unintentionally.

There are many types of fools, and Nigeria is gifted with it's own peculiar breed of fools.
The Complicated Fool: those who aren’t even aware they are fools - the wisdom acclaimer.
We have the Circumstantial Fool: the fool who was made foolish due to some circumstance, like economic hardship, which is slightly understandable in our milieu.
A Loving Fool could also pass as a victim of circumstance - one who has been swindled by a supposed lover and abandoned.

Analysing deeper, we come across the Neo-Colonialist Fool: this is a fool who expects the foreign powers to do what's in the best interest of Nigeria, totally forgetting the golden rule of permanent interests and not permanent friends. Such fools expect foreign interventionists to wholeheartedly assist Nigeria's development, without pondering on the economic implications, and why an underdeveloped Nigeria may actually benefit certain foreign interests.

There are more interesting fools like the Sophisticated Fool: motivated by class, prestige and other types of materialisms. You will find them in some posh social clubs bragging about either their heritage or privileged background and education, but never about using their exceptional qualities for the betterment of the nation.

Enter the Educated Fool: the fool who went to school but has learnt nothing - you come across many of them on social media, exhibiting their ignorance to unfathomable heights.
Another spectrum of the educated are those with the professional experience and acumen to effectively manage public affairs, but deliberately evade it because of the pervasion of unscrupulous individuals in the political sphere.
Ironically, those within this category, feel more comfortable criticising without proffering practical solutions or making any significant contributions to societal development. They are quick to call the opportunists governing them, fools, but fail to realise they are actually the bigger fools, for allowing a brand of fools to attain positions of authority over them.

We also have the Bigoted Fool: the fool driven by bigotry and hatred. These set of fools are multifaceted and their bigotry is boundless. You find them online, defending absurdities.
For example, if a minister that happens to belong to their ethnic group is exposed for malfeasance, they see no wrong in defending obvious incompetencies. Also, if a president they share the same religion with has been chastised for ineptitude, they will defend such apparent inadequacies religiously.

We mustn’t forget the Religious Fool: fools, despite living in dire straits, have been cajoled or brainwashed into believing that by further enriching a religious leader, they will attain salvation. Never mind that their revered religious figure owns private jets, or has been accused of money laundering or gun-running, “touch not my anointed” they say, as they intensify their prayers.

This brings the fools exposé to the prayerful type of fool, a.k.a the 'Prayer-Fool': those who believe in praying for everything and doing nothing to make those prayers a reality.
The similitude of a student that has been gifted with access to good teachers and vast educational material, but instead of taking advantage of these resources by studying, resorts to just praying. Strangely, such a student is actually expecting a 'miracle' on examination day, but is surprised by the realistic outcome of a resounding fail. This is the reality that has befallen Nigeria, we are trying to reap where we obviously did not sow!

Fools manifest into unbelievable mutations like the Sycophantic Fool: they will praise the flimsiest of things as achievements. Like those who celebrated the refurbishment of old locomotives as landmark government accomplishments in 2014. In an age when Maglev trains are doing maximum speeds of 430 km/h and an average speed of 251 km/h.
A mediocre type of fool might retort that this is way too advanced for us, that we should keep it simple and concentrate on the basics like electricity. Yes! Then emerges the 'Transformation' Fool: the one busily defending a 'transformation agenda' that has failed to transform anything but the pockets of those milking the system. A transformation that has continually promised stable or constant electricity supply for the past 4 years at least.

Undoubtedly, we have exceptional fools at the helm of affairs, surrounded by a special set of feckless fools, those who believe they can fool everyone with elaborate foolishness. These are the sort of fools that openly praise ill-thought of pro-government agendas, then try to exculpate themselves when it backfires drastically, i.e.#BringBackGoodluck2015.

Once any opportunistic fool takes over the helm of affairs, the clock starts to tick fast, such opportunists are wondering when the populace will come back to their senses, do the needful and send them packing! They are actually surprised by the series of faux pas they can get away with before reality beckons and are exposed for the fraud they truly are.

We are currently engulfed in a vicious circle of be-fooling that is inevitably contagious. Some may ask, how far can charlatanry be perpetuated? How long can such asininity last? Well! For as long as those being fooled allow it!
So when next a fool lies to you to get your votes and you buy into the foolish lies being peddled, don’t blame the fool for attempting such foolery, rather blame yourselves for permitting such buffoonery and allowing yourselves to be fooled in the first instance!

“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time” - Abraham Lincoln

I'd encourage my child to be steadfast in his/her choice, be diligent in reading the holy books and question everything they read/hear. So what can we do?

Change would start from the mind. The Nigerian problem isn't a lack of infrastructure, rather it is the mentality and generally lazy and slothful thinking that is perpetuated by religion and crippled academic institutions. I have always maintained that if the people of Lagos for example wer moved to New York, and New Yorkers moved to Lagos, it is possible that in 10 years, Lagos could leap ahead in terms of every positive social index, while New York would be in a state of retrogression.

Africans need to learn from their forefathers. Beliefs never saved anyone from the physical effects of the laws of nature. No amount of belief will turn you into a pussy cat tomorrow. Only knowledge can permit you that opportunity.

Those with a vision of a better Nigeria(I personally have given up hope on one) need to be more tham smart. They will need to be more proactive, be more organized, have a purpose. Who knows, one day, we would have an election in which our votes wouldnt be based on 'who is the nicer scoundrel?'

Influence: Political Influence, Societal, and Moral (Religious)

Your biblical allegory is spot on! For this sole reason I would side with those Nigerians that attempt to link their ancestral lineage back to the Isrealites. That is typical Nigerian behaviour right there!. We like easy and we like safe. As long as whatever change/ revolution is to be carried out/established, it must fall within the confines of safe and easy.

I too believe that change has to start from the mind. The Nigerian mind is so twisted that change is almost incomprehensible!

Nigerians/Africans/Black Men have been conditioned to feel inferior when it comes to making such strides. An African that knows his history, knows his roots, understands the greatness that was (and could/would be) Africa, the empires and civilizations their ancestors built, would find in himself the strength and confidence to make a difference. We simply do not know our history!

Majority are okay with mediocrity. We, as a people, can cope with any situation, so we would rather manage (and say "e go better"wink than act right or demand excellence (in most cases).

What am I doing? I'm trying to amass enough wealth so that I can influence things, especially education and mass re-orientation (in a positive way though!). Yorubas will say "rich man no fit talk make poor man claim sey him get idea" grin

I am Yoruba and totally get that cheesy. I hope that in time you do amass that wealth and truly use it to make a difference. We hope that you don't get swayed by the public and society (and self- that nagging tempting voice) and years later we hear you have mansions in Dubai.

I cant say much for myself. My version of change had always been relieving the effects the Nigerian situation has on the average(less privileged Nigerian) and so I felt I was making a difference but unintentional had boxed myself in.

Majority okay with mediocrity? I believe its more of the ‘slothful’ nature musKeeto described, I say this because the idea behind this post is that Nigerians complain. We are definitely not okay with mediocrity. We compare ourselves to other more developed nations and wonder why we cant be like them. For instance, Nigerians enviously comparing themselves to Malaysia- a country that attained independence at about the same time as Nigeria, fast-tracked its economic development through various sectors and (comparatively) through the growth of its palm-oil industry (palm-oil Nigerians spitefully say the Malaysians took from them- this of-course is not true), and has one of the most outstanding economic records in Asia. (Compare Malaysia's vision 2020 to Nigeria's’).

We hate mediocrity, put a Nigerian in New York and he would memorize all his rights and privileges and make sure he is not cheated. We hate that constant electricity has become a gift from the 'gods of NEPA/PHCN’. We hate that we are governed by people that have no business ruling a home, much less a nation. We hate that strikes keep Doctors, Lawyers, Educators the future movers and shakers of the nation in school years longer than they should be. We hate that Boko Haram is taking over rapidly and violently while our president prays to a Jewish god facing an ancient wall in a foreign land. We hate that our moral (religious) leaders are rocking gold Jesus pieces while their followers are brainwashed to donating all they have to finance their leaders’ lifestyle.

However when someone 'the liberator’ shows up with a ‘blueprint’ everyone goes quiet and contributes little to nothing to the development of the solution from blueprint to concrete. The average Nigerian would rather complain than put in work. This is why we put so much hope in 'God'. We need the change but will not put in the work. Many a time a revolutionist shows up on the scene with great plans for change, the average Nigerian would hiss and simply begin a mental/subconscious countdown until he/she is either paid off, killed off, or worn out, and then consciously mouth an ‘I told you so’.

Nairaland / General / What Are All The Intelligent Nigerians Doing Outside Positions Of Influence? by rinrin23(f): 11:27am On Nov 04, 2014
A dear friend once asked 'What are all the smart people doing outside positions of influence??'.

And so I pose this same question to Nairalanders. Scrolling through some threads here, I've picked up on quite a number of posters that have vast knowledge on Africa, Nigeria, our ancient history, ancient religion, our culture, politics, foreign affairs and policy; and have solid blueprints for the turn around of this nation; not to mention their Pan-African and patriotic stance with a sense of desiring progress for the Nigerian nation.

I wondered why don't we have thinking governors, senators, presidents?!. Is it because the majority which is unthinking would rather have a ruler who is just like them. Or do we not have the drive to act and move into these positions of influence.

I guess what I would like to know is what are we doing with our vast banks of knowledge and passion outside of posting on Nairaland (and beer parlour discussions). In what way are you making a positive influence in Nigeria

u r not an animal.....y not choose eternal life,wer u dnt rot....

What if he (@Pr0ton) doesn't want eternal life? Is it by force?

This eternal life that you people keep mentioning and aspiring for. What do you want to do with it sef ehn?. Some of you its a challenge to even go to church on Sundays, and those of you that go, its a challenge for you to stay awake and pay attention. So what do you want to do in heaven where you will be worshipping a god and bowing down to a throne 24/7? How is this version of heaven some place you even want to end up for eternity.

Even if he chooses to follow in your beliefs he would still rot the same way you will rot too. Or are trying to say you will take your human physical body with you to heaven. You don't even understand your own religion. Isn't it your soul that lives after death?. Y'all will be talking about hell and how a physical body will burn for eternity (gnashing of teeth and all that), with the little knowledge you have, does that make sense to you? How long does it take for a human body to burn to ashes? Eternity?

What do you intend to do with this eternal life? Im curious

Wow! Congratulations to the Abrahamic faith, right?

If we highlight the distribution of a particular disease in the planet, we can also say congratulations to the disease, right?

am not talking about my friends.friends are pretty easy to deal with, they can be changed once our belief begin to cause problem, rather am talking about my super deep religious muslim families. besides i dont go beyond what peoples mind can handle,if i sensed ur mind cant handle beyond d concept of god, then i use it to my advantage and if i realized d person av got a bit of expanded thinking then i use that.i av learnt that it does no good to challenge anyones belief, rather i listen, observe and ask question, its hard to do yes but then wisdom is a lonely journey...anyone can be open with his belief if done the peaceful way but then am just an OBSERVER without any label(no belief system and no disbelief system) not an atheist

For the bolded statement, -thank you!. Truly some people's minds aren't built to handle certain types of information/information all at once/life changing information. This is why there are so many arguments on Nairaland between the theists and atheists for years!

Most would classify you as a Humanist. But I understand, there should be no use for tags and labels in an ever changing world, with knowledge and new information pouring in every day. Wisdom is all I search for, if I should be tagged I would rather be labelled 'Wise'.

People like us will get there and my plan is simple! Become a blessing to the society (Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, and Solarin-style) and then see people's opinion about your religious beliefs become trivial...Something tells me tho, that the hypocritical Nigerian society may not be homely sha, but that's my plan for now.

This is my plan too, its been years in the making but will get there.

I believe wanting to be a blessing comes with each of us as human beings, none of that 'man is inherently evil/we are born evil' biblical nonsense. I hope, with this plan, that one day we would change the world even if it just our little corner here on Africa.

Exactly.... It reminds me of the protectorates. Reading on how the colonialist and missionaries worked to undermine the locals/traditionalist by denying them rights to participate in government, economic or education. It's only beneficial to join them if you can't beat them.

Most of the readings on early christians converts in Nigeria has one common understanding. They sought to gain what the colonialist and missionaries were denying the traditionalist. This madness of abrahamic faithful of today is worrisome. I wonder what rock bottom would be like before they finally put humanity and common sense before god's of the middle east..

Patiently waiting for rock bottom, from that position there is no where else to go but up.

They allow us to conclude that 'Jehovah's exercise of foreknowledge is selective and discretionary'. But one cannot chose not to know without knowing!. Jehovah can not chose not to know about suffering without knowing it exists. In other words he knows but chooses to not act on it. Its just a way to convince themselves that their God is a loving one, rather than come to terms with the glaring nature of the God they worship.

page 6 that...The primary cause of wickedness, though, is not man. Satan the Devil. So therefore we should forgive and forget the evil and atrocities European men met on the original native red indian owners of America and the Arabs enslavery and destruction of black African and instead be more concerned about Satan the Devil....<< another ploy to cover up the role Christianity did (and did not) play in these atrocities.

Can you the Pope do exactly just that moreover since you're closer to Jesus' father 'Jehovah(Yahweh) before I can subscribe to your idolatry religion? No he can't whereas walking on water among other supernatural feats can be succesfully executed through the application of certain esoteric knowledge contained in the science and tech aspect of the Yoruba believe system. The science and tech aspect is what I term Yoruba Advanced Sciences erroneously known as juju etc. 'IFA' the core of our believe system is not a religion as some thinks and others go into for, it is more than that and an embodiment of all subjects under the sun, from divination, philosophies, guidance, to the origin and destiny of mankind....<< this is one of the reasons why I am very curious about yoruba/African spirituality. One of the arms of the United Nations declared Ifá a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, yet Nigerians still regard it as evil and primitive.

The book is very scarce to get, it's a book that should be in every secondary school and public library, that is if even the few unattended ones out there are patronized by our love-to-party generations. I could start a thread where I will type all the contents there from time to time, so we can analyze and muse over it together with others on the journey of self-discovery. What do you think?

I think this is a brilliant idea. Looking forward to it!
