Being lazy can be a very easy task to embark on daily as it on demand you sitting idle all day without doing the necessary things one is meant to do. however, laziness is a personal choice based on the freedom one is having, for example, you studying on the last day of exam is because you have run out of time and you have no other choice or you will fail. So when you are on your own and not under duress you find it convenient to lazy all around. Technically, laziness is caused because one isn't under someone's supervision and pressure. Here are three ways we think can help stop procrastination and laziness; 1. ACCEPT THE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE: As a student, your life is in your hands, your parents, friends and love ones are only well wishers. They may be sad if you fail, but they will certainly move on, you are the master of your life. Always have the mindset that leaving what is meant to be done today to a later day might be about failure and failure will set you back. Take action today, accept the fact that your life i in your hands. 2. UNDERSTAND WHY YOU PROCRASTINATE: The movies, music videos, games, chatting, social network, football and all are all distractions that leads to procrastination, while this activities are necessary, they are meant to be done after more important things have been sorted out. Understand which of this activities takes the most of your time and try to limit the time allocated to it. 3. GIVE YOURSELF A CHALLENGE: Most of us are still lazy because we haven't gotten full control of our lives. We are waiting unconsciously for some level of authority, supervision and guidance to make us do things. Overcoming laziness and procrastination is all about challenging oneself. Say I must wake up by 5am and make sure against all odds you are up, punish yourself each time you fail to wake at the stipulated time, with time you will get used to it and finally overcome laziness and procrastination. source: www.unilorincloud.com.ng |
Joseid:You have written well bro, having extra source of income on campus is supercool |
dauddy97:on point bro. thanks for contributing |
Though academic work can be so demanding and time consuming, nevertheless there are still various things students can embark on earn extra cash on campus. It will still be a worthy experience if we can earn extra cash by doing things which doesn't require much stress or in any way demeaning. 1. Learn the most paying skill: Though most people might just advice you learn a skill, but not all skills can be learned within a short period of time. However, there are still some you can learn within two weeks or three and you start earning from it. Examples are Graphics design, baking, front end web design and so on 2. Work as a freelancer: This is pretty easy to set up provided you are really ready to make more money. Who is a Freelancer? A freelancer is someone who is skilled in a particular field and works for different company and people without necessarily being employed by them. Your skilled area can be writing, editing, translation, photography, web design, illustrating and so on. So what are you skilled at, or what skill do you want to learn. There are also some online company that uses the services of freelancers like fiverr, upwork and freelancing.com. You can check them up and make your decision. 3. Blogging: Though this has been really abused because of the "copy and paste" bloggers we have now. But you can still make it in this field if you are going to be writing unique content and using the right keywords. It doesn't require any previous experience, but requires little or no capital and hardwork . To get started, pick your niche and set up your blog. If you need help on how to set up a blog, browse through the webmaster section. 4. Computer business center : Do you have a laptop? If yes, you are good to go, all you have to do is make an arrangement with a shop owner on campus and lend a photocopying machine for the main time. Set up a business centre and stat helping students with their registration and photocopying jobs. Though, can be time consuming but still worth it. 5. Making yourself available: This works with the first two point I've given. Let say you don't really know how to do a certain stuff like logo design, but somehow somehow, you got the job to design a logo for a friend or anyone, the trick is never say "I can't do it" Just go learn how to do it. It is all over the internet. Yes! This has really worked for me. You can also help lazy students with their assignment and get paid. 6. Make up artiste: There's actually no weekend without one or two occasions, we all want to look good and adorable, this is a good opportunity for make up artiste,it easy and simple to execute. You get to make a lot especially if you are good at it. You can try this out and see the results yourself. 7. Fashion designer: Though this is not easy to learn and takes time before one becomes an expert. For those who are good is sewing, you can actually make a living from it on campus, all you have to do is get your friends to know about what you do and do them well. It is profitable and rewarding as well. Do have a wonderful academic section Source: www.unilorincloud.com.ng |

Being a scholar entails having good grades in all your courses, while this might sound easy to accomplish, it might actually be one of the toughest thing anyone will experience while on campus. Good grades are not easy to come by but are very possible to achieve, it is best to say good grades comes with a lot of hard work plus smart work. No wonder most university do not fail to reward those who have done excellently academically. Though this might sound archaic and more like things we hear everyday, but I will actually be writing from experience and can only hope it will in one way or the other be helpful and probably trigger a soul to do excellently well in this new section. Enjoy! 1. Never miss a class: But if in case you do, get a friend to tell you all what the lecturer said if possible. Honestly, missing lectures can be dangerous, I can testify to this, it ruined one of my results, I didn't get the note and forgot to read on the topic before examination, most of my questions came from that topic and it had a big blow on my result. Bro, sis, if you are reading this, ensure you read every single topic treated. Never be lackadaisical about it. 2. Jot as much as possible: While this might be a waste of time since note and other soft copies are available, it is still one of the best way to get lecturers points during lectures. Ensure you have you jotting note with you in order to pen down important things the lecturer might say. 3. Read anything relating to each course: Yes! Textbooks, encyclopedia, manuals, past notes, just anything on each topics. There are times we say the lecturers set foreign questions, actually he or she didn't set foreign questions he or she only expected us to read wide and consult different materials on each topic. 4. Get past questions : Past questions are like expo for some courses, you might be lucky to come across half of the treated past questions in your examination. It happens and I'm a living witness. 5. Never procrastinate: Procrastinating destroys and set you back. Why leave it till the next day when it can be done now? If it is relating to your academics, please don't postpone it, you can postpone others but your books, open them immediately and keep reading. 6. Surround yourself with friends with the same mindset: You want to be the scholar? Yes, it sounds good but who are your friends? Are they of the same goals as well? If no, then it can't work simply because it is not competitive, you need people with the same mindset to set you balling, you need people who will motivate you to read more than they are doing. Surround yourself with people of the same interest. 7. Get Informed: Information is key, always stay updated about the latest in your department, always know if the lecture will hold or not and where and when. Never rely on a single source, get the class rep contact and if possible some of your lecturers contact as well. Remember, the gap between ignorance and knowledge is information 8. Avoid frivolity: Wasting precious time on unnecessary activities won't take you there. Avoid activities that takes time without no positive impact. Use that time to go through your works and learn what you didn't get at first. 9. Learn from others: This alone can be an ultimate way to attaining good grades. Having those who are scholar of your department to guide you works really well as you will learn new strategy from them 10. Have that mindset: No one can achieve this without having a driving force to do so, this feat isn't for a livid minded individual, this feat can only be achieved by those with a burning desire to excel and a desperate heart to top the class even against all odds. Of course, it starts from the mind, always have that positive mindset. 11. Pray: Whether a muslim or christian or traditionalist or buddhism, whatever religion you belong to, just hold on to it. Happy new academic section |
