Politics / Re: Benue Law Maker - Buhari Government Likes Cows Than People Lifes by ripbubu: 7:15am On Dec 13, 2017
Referendum50:
Federal lawmakers from Benue State, have accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government of placing premium on Fulani cattle more than the lives of the citizens in Benue.

This was even as the lawmakers also accused the President of having no political will to end the reoccurring attacks on locals in the state by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Addressing Journalists at the weekend in Abuja, the lawmakers expressed disappointment over the inability of the government to effect arrest or prosecute any of the marauders, who have claimed over 5000 lives in Benue State in the last two years.

They said despite the threats coming from the Miyetti Allah Groups and others since the anti open grazing law was enacted in Benue November , the federal government has decided to pay deaf ears to them.

“We condemn in unequivocal terms provocative and inflammatory statements credited to the National President, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo and the National Secretary, Saleh Alhassan of the group against the implementation of the anti-open grazing law in Benue State”, the lawmakers said.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Hon. Dyegh said the “carnage” and “massive destruction wreaked in the people of the state has almost grounded economic activities “as people have abandoned their farms and businesses due to the ravaging activities of AK-47 bearing herdsmen, who constantly invaded our communities, destroyed farms, property, maim and kill indiscriminately.”

He said “the people are still living with the sordid memories of the massacre in virtually every nook and cranny of the state, particularly in Buruku, Guma, Tarka, Logo, Agatu, Gwer West and Gwer East etc. Thousands of lives and property worth billions of naira have been lost to these inhuman actions of these so called Fulani herdsmen.

“Worried by the continued desecration of our land and a clear agenda to exterminate our people, the Benue State House of Assembly this year passed the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Bill, which was signed into law by the Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom on May 22, 2017.”

While urging President Muhammadu Buhari to support the Open Grazing Prohibition Law, the lawmakers condemned what they called “the campaign of calumny” against Governor Samuel Ortom.

“We use this medium to draw the attention of the federal government and make a passionate appeal to the President and Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari to grant full support to the Government of the State by giving a standing order to all security agencies to ensure maximum implementation of this wonderful piece of legislation.

“We hereby use this medium to draw the attention of the federal Government to the threats from Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and the unlawful activities of herdsmen who are violating the law and still openly grazing their cattle in Agatu and Apa Local Government Areas of the State.

“We decry the campaign of calumny against Governor Samuel Ortom by this group and want to declare our unflinching support for the Governor in the implementation of this Law. No individual is above the law and the Miyettu Allah cannot be an exception,” they added.

The lawmakers said the law was not targeted at any group of people, but it permits grazing of livestock only within ranches and prohibits the movement of animals from one destination to another in the state except by rail, trucks and other vehicles.

The lawmakers, who jointly signed the statement handed to the media include, Emmanuel Orker-Jev, John Dyegh, Saleh Hassan, Adamu Ochepo Entonu, Dickson Tarkighir, Mark Terseer Gbillah.

Others include, Emmanuel Udende, Dorathy Mato, Benjamin Wayo, Samuel Okwu and Ezekiel Adaji.

They all vowed to resort to the option of self defense, if the federal government does not rise in protection of lives and property.

They submitted that, enacting the law in Benue was not enough, until the federal government breaks silence to give support to it.

I will support only Atiku if Buhari contests 2019 election – Minister Alhassan

ON SEPTEMBER 6, 20177:02 PMIN NEWS, POLITICSCOMMENTS

An interview with BBC Hausa has shown President Muhammadu Buhari’s Women Affairs Minister, Aisha Alhassan saying she would support Former Vice president, Atiku Abubakar, for the 2019 presidential election.

The video which is in Hausa language captures Mrs. Alhassan as saying she would support Akiku even if President Muhammadu Buhari decides to re-contest the 2019 election.

Alhassan
Part of the transcript of the interview reads thus: “Atiku is my godfather even before I joined politics.”

“And again, Baba Buhari did not tell us that he is going to run in 2019.”

“Let me tell you today that if Baba said he is going to contest in 2019, I swear to Allah, I will go before him and kneel and tell him that ‘Baba I am grateful for the opportunity you gave me to serve your government as a minister but Baba, just like you know, I will support only Atiku because he is my godfather. If Atiku said he is going to contest.”

“If because of what I said, I am sacked, it will not bother me because I believe in Allah, that my time has elapsed that is why…”

“Baba is not a mad man like those calling for my sack. They have been sending it and spreading that if Baba sees this I will be sacked.” cool

I owe no allegiance to a country that is not ready to make things right for it's citizens. I owe no allegiance to a country that can't protect me. Some so called patriots will even readily drop their Nigeria for another country when given the opportunity. I owe no allegiance to a country whose leadership are bent on dividing the citizenry with their speeches, actions and inaction. There is so much brain drain in the country due to the fraud and hypocrisy in the system.
I don't believe in blind patriotism. if there is sincerity on the part of Nigerias leadership to fix Nigeria regardless of economic challenges, there won't be escalated agitations. A true patriot is not a blind patriot. NIGERIA wants blind patriotism. they won't get it from me.

silas24:
Most if not all Nigerians know the details of the civil war and its impacts on the country and its ethnic groups. I personally have read several accounts of the war, from Alabi Isama's The Tragedy of Victory to Chinua Achebe's there was a country. The one thing they all agree on is that the war did more harm than good and even Ojukwu confessed that the war should not have been started in the first place. Millions of lives were lost and it took a lot for the Igbos to find themselves again. Naturally both sides committed several atrocities during the war, the Igbos often killed Nigerian soldiers who surrendered and the Nigerian generals were accused of genocide. However the case may be the war was bitter for everyone involved. This is why it pains me when Igbos who really don't know what war is agitating for war and Independence.
Nigeria is a blessed country, that is cursed with bad leaders and citizens with very poor mindsets. These bad leaders are not limited to one region, they are everywhere in the country. The three major ethnic groups as we all know are highly tribalistic (yet we complain about racism) and fight primarily for their own interests. They all mingle with their own interacting with others only for their self interests.
The Igbos are the most business savvy ethnic group in the country. I like to compare them with Germany who rose from the ashes of World War Two to become an industrial powerhouse. They rose from desolation after the civil war to become some of the richest self made people in the country. How did they achieve this? Simple, by taking advantage of their talents and the lack of such in other people in the country. There's no part of Nigeria that is habitable and safe that an Igbo man will not be found.
But there is such a thing as overdoing it. They want everything to go their way and see everyone else as tribalistic when they are the chief perpetrators. You claim to be victimized but everything that has happened is as a result of their own actions. Igbos pride themselves as developers, believing that the country would be in the Stone Age without them. This thought process coupled with their selfishness has lead them to believe that they are being victimized. Most of the agitators for independence are home based people who have nothing to lose but will actually have an edge over other Igbos returning home after independence. Tye Igbo leaders are among the most divided in the country, never really coming together and sacrificing for the greater good of Ndigbo, instead they all strive for their own interests making it easier for their rivals to divide and conquer. Selfishness and ignorance is the problem of the igbos, a leader promised a land flowing with milk and honey and they all want to cash in without thinking ahead. The truth is Nigerians will always look for opportunities to discriminate, an Ebonyi man will not allow an Anambra man rule as president even though they are all Igbos because they are all inherently selfish.
A time will come when people will unite and fight for the greater good but I strongly believe that the Biafra offered by Nnamdi Kanu is a Mirage, a promise that takes advantage of the inherent selfishness of the Igbos, no one is discussing the sacrifices they will have to make. If they were they would have realized that what we need is reorientation not referendum.
Here's my advice to all, let us stop trying to convince them that Biafra is not the answer. Let them go and see for themselves. Metamorphosis is not a pleasant process but the end result is perfection.....so whenever they play the victim and clamor for the rising sun, encourage them because that is the only way to get them to see the light....

NEWSAmnesty International plotting to jail buhari – Coalition raises alarmPublished on September 5, 2017 By Ameh Comrade Godwin

A pressure group, Coalition for Truth and Justice (CFTJ), on Monday called on the Nigerian government to expel Amnesty International from the country, falsly accusing them that they had earmarked about N10 billion to settle “dormant terror NGOs and CSOs to champion the break up of the country.”

The organisation also claimed that AI had been responsible for Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, militancy in the Niger-Delta and the separatist movement agitating for secession in the South East led by the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The National Coordinator of CFTJ, Charles Timothy, at a press briefing in Abuja, alleged that AI had intensified plots to destabilise Nigeria.

He therefore called on the Federal Government to expel AI from Nigeria, stressing “as they are backing separatists and extremists against the country’s legitimate authority and sovereignty.”

Timothy advised Nigerians and government to stop the final phase of destabilization from being fully activated.

He said, “We appeal to you, gentlemen of the press, to help amplify this message to the government and the populace because Nigeria and Nigerians cannot afford to be taken unawares by this latest destabilization plot.

“In its latest destabilisation plot, AI has started mobilising some questionable elements under the cover of civil society groups with millions of Naira in the last phase of its project to see to the final destabilisation of Nigeria. This last phase of operation is structured to unite and activate all the dormant terror NGOs and CSOs they have created and term their attack on the populace as “intellectual rebellion”, which is a cover to cause an uprising against the state. This must be taken seriously. This strategy has been employed several times in the past.

“A few CSOs run by true patriots that were approached to join the rebellion so that it can have a larger number have confided in us that as much N10 billion has been earmarked for this phase. In addition to paying for protest logistics, the funds would also be distributed to some senior lawyers in Lagos and Abuja to lead the uprising against the Nigerian state. This development was in response to Amnesty International losing faith in the ability of its assets to trigger the much-expected genocide which would allow it and its backers to label Nigeria as a failed state. On the strength of what we know, we would be lying to claim that all is well when we know that Nigeria is sitting on a primed bomb.”

Timothy said while Boko Haram insurgency in the North East of Nigeria, militancy in the Niger-Delta or the separatist movement by IPOB agitating for secession in the South East of the country were contemporary problems that urgently beg decisive responses, they were also mere symptoms, manifestations of the manipulations of agents of destabilization that were desperate to destroy Nigeria.

He said, “The core and forefront of this machination against the corporate existence of Nigeria is Amnesty International. It is on record that this so called international human rights non-governmental organization is at the root of Boko Haram, Niger-Delta militancy, secessionists in the South East and even unintended support for kidnappers, whose rights it fights for by claiming that their arrests and occasional death in exchange with security operatives are violations of certain rules.

“Several patriotic groups had taken on Amnesty International on over its role in these groups causing security incidents and breaches for the country. Its response has consistently been that of feigning ignorance, ignoring the indictment or out rightly blackmailing such accusers. It rides on its suppose international credential to ride roughshod on Nigerians whose country it is actively poisoning with the sole intention of destroying.

NEWSBoko Haram mocks Army, calls Buhari ‘a small ant’ over ShekauPublished on September 5, 2017 By Seun Opejobi

A Boko Haram Commander, Shuaibu Moni has mocked the Nigerian Army and government over their failure to capture its leader, Abubakar Shekau within 40 days.

Moni, who was part of the Commanders swapped for the release of the 82 Chbok girls in May, said despite the expiration of the ultimatum, they were celebrating Sallah in Sambisa forest.

Moni described President Muhammadu Buhari as “a small ant” over the inability of the military to either capture Shekau dead or live.

According to Moni, “We have observed the eid-el-Kabir prayers peacefully with our brothers, wives and children in Sambisa forest under the leadership of Abu-Muhammad -Ibn-Mahammad Abubakar Shekau.

“We thank Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness this very wonderful day and good state of health. We want to tell the infidels of the world, infidels in Nigeria and even small ants like Buhari and his attack dogs like Kukasheka and Buratai who gave 40-day ultimatum to kill our leader Abubakar Shekau that here we are celebrating Sallah in Sambisa.

“I also want them to know that killing Shekau is not the end of us. With or without Shekau Boko Haram will remain. They should know we worship God and Shekau is only leading us on the path of service to the Lord.

“They should know that just as they are giving orders to their military to invade our camps; we are also waiting for Shekau’s orders to invade their barracks, towns and cities at any giving time.

“I have said it before and you have seen what I have done. I am not making empty noise; I guess you know who is talking you, this is ‘Moni’. You have seen what we did in the university and the city of Maiduguri and other places.

“We mean everything we are saying, and you should wait we are coming after you. We will never dialogue with the government.”
