The first thing u must understand is i completely agree managers play an important role in a team. What i'm saying is:
A. A quality team is of much more importance than a quality manager. I dont think mark hughes is a better manager than david moyes. But not many would argue that man city are a better team than everton.

B. Managers get too much credit. I get sick when people heap all the praise on managers and fail to acknowledge the other people off the field.
A scout spots the talent/potential in a player, then reccommends him to the manager. A few years later, we start hearing rubbish like "fergie 'discovered' him", "wenger nortured him" and "guardiola 'made' him". . . WHAT UTTER NONSENSE!
Again, i'm not denying they played a part. I just find it incredibly foolish to ignore the vital role asst. Managers, scouts, coaches etc play.

the ucl is a cup(knockout) competition. . . Its a lot easier for smaller teams to win it than a major league(i.e the porto team of 2004 would never have finished above the invincibles if u put them in the epl). These gorillas still fail to realize the overall strength of the league is the primary measure to determine how many slots it gets. Even if english clubs do a madrid and go shit in europe, the epl will still have its 4 slots as long as its teams remain as strong as they are now.
The coefficients are used mainly to seed teams.
In any case, attributing the success of a team to its manager alone is bordering on elite insanity.
