On any other day it would be insane but i have to co-sign with Coogar and DK here, as good as Wenger is off the field, tactically he's clueless!

All the times Cesc was injured he still insisted on playing Arshavin wide when it's clear he's so much better central. The only game i remember him playing centrally he copped three assists. Even after his work-rate has dropped to sub-zero mumu Wenger is still fielding him wide at grounds like Old Trafford, leaving the likes of Nani to wreak havoc on the fullback.

He also managed to turn Eboue from one of the best RBs in the league to one of the most ridiculed players ever.

Of all the players he listed only Goetze can be said to be better than Wilshere. Thiago has only had a few flashes of brilliance in proper football, his biggest claim to fame is European U21 Championship vs ninjas going through puberty. Let him prove his mettle against grown men in the UCL and La Liga before we say he's better than Wilshere.

Don't be a tool Lateef. . . Having young players is one thing(everybody does), giving them a chance to improve by playing them is another. Of all the ninjas you've listed, only Mata and Sturridge and to a much lesser extent Lukaku/Josh fall in that category. You are even listing players not currently at the club. You think Mikel(24? ) and Ramires can improve significantly this season? LOLOL!

Another question is whether these cats have as much room for improvement this season as Jones, Smalling, Fabio, Rafael, Nani, Cleverley, Welbeck, Hernandez etc, OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T!

Add that to the gulf in class that already exists and you can see why your nickname is "phat phool"

From this time last year Szczesny has solved the goalie problem(this was a massive problem area).

I've already given my take on the defensive ins and outs. Vermaelen basically missed all of last season, that probably won't happen again.

A back five of Szczesny, Sagna, Per/LK, Verminator, Santos is a lot better than last season's.

In midfield  i can see Frimpong having a Wilsheresque season. Cesc is of course a massive loss even though he gets injured a lot nowadays. Wilshere is of course a different beast now. Everything else is as you were

Up front/wide Gervinho will add a lot of penetration, he can fill Nasri's boots, no problem. Arshavin's regression is soothed by Theo's progression. The major difference now is RVP has really come into his own this year and is now on some Messi/Ronaldo-ish goal-a-game shitzo. OX and Park and Miyaichi will add more depth.

Overall i'd say the squad is on about the same level as at the start of last season, maybe a little worse or perhaps even a little better depending on how the new boys adapt and if the Arteta deal materializes.

Apples vs Agbalumos. . . United have a much younger squad than Chelsea, young players will improve naturally(Nani being the prime example last year) while Chelsea's OAPs can only get worse. They also lost the league by a single point, Chelsea were 9 abi 10 points behind last season.

Then there's City bringing in the likes of Nasri and Kun - top top top top players!

I actually feel Gervinho can do better than Nasri on the wings, I'd take Santos/Jenkinson over Clichy/Eboue anyday, no CB left so Per is actually a massive bonus, ditto Young and Ox.

The only major snag is Cesc, I'd have loved someone like Martin coming in but you know what they say, "Arsene knows"

If Chelsea don't bring one or two "top top top top players"(copyright Jamie Redknapp) then it's safe to say the title is staying in Manchester.

Mumu, no one has said he is the best "right back", the point is he is considerably better than Santos and could have been signed even before the start of the season(5 games have already been played).

Applying this same logic in 2002 would mean it would have been better for Arsenal to sign George Boateng from Aston Villa with oodles of premiership experience rather than sign a 25 year old Gilberto from Minas Gerais in Brazil.

Gilberto vs Boateng That logic only comes into play when the players are of similar quality. Of course it's better to sign someone like Neymar with no EPL experience than David N'gog!
