Typing:The problem of INNOSON is longthroat and it might affect him negatively. He registered as a vehicle manufacturer but if dem talk about aircraft, him go put mouth,go meet him China partners, dem go give am. If they talk about armoury, him go put mouth,go meet him China partners, dem go sell am fake ones. INNOSON does not have the facilities to produce these things but ojukokoro dey worry am. Reason why most of our Eastern brothers' businesses don't last up to 40 years. PROFORCE sells to UNO,Belarus,Rwanda,Chad etc. They are quality personified and they don't make noise. COMPETENCE is the word. |
Freethinker87:lol I am beginning to get down to your understanding now. Either it is due to brain or pretense,I cannot really decipher. Let me remind you that it is not the day a baby is born that it begins to walk or even crawl. It takes stages. If you give birth to a child and train him up to when he begins to crawl. Your relative later takes him and trains him up to when he begins to walk and even does what adults can do.Does it mean that it is that relative that gave birth to him? No,of course not. It is you.You pioneered him. Not your relative but he helped in bringing him up. When movies started in Nigeria,it was only the Yorubas....maybe 20 million people...that were involved as Nigerians but later the Igbos joined in the 80s...maybe another 20 million people, making it 40 million. The meaning of this is that the commercial market of movies has expanded. Hausas later joined and the market became larger that it was before. It is now valued at around 6.4 billion dollars this 2023. It was not even up to 1 million dollar when the Yorubas started it then and a lot of Nigerians involved now we're not participating because it was new. The understanding is that Yorubas pioneered the movie industry in Nigeria.... Nollywood (it was a US movie analyst that gave our movie industry Nollywood just in tandem with Hollywood and Bollywood). They were making money according to the period. Igbos later joined by massively putting the movies on video cassettes thereby greatly enlarging the commercial power of the movie industry. Hausa later joined thereby making it the second highest movie industry in the world. All thanks to the number. The population of Nigeria...the 3 major tribes and our other hardworking minority tribes brought Nigeria movie industry to the level it is now and it is going to be better, larger and we will surely be the best in the world. |
Irony1:Are you saying that the people..Yorubas...that were doing movies, films, cinemas before the video cassettes arrived were not doing it for commercial purposes? You mean they are doing it without making money from it by selling them in one form or the other. Hubert Ogunde,Afolayan,Moses Olaiya etc did not do any other work except producing movies, films, cinemas and they were making enough money for themselves, family and nation from it.They were professionals. When video cassettes came and Igbos recorded movies into them,it means that they pioneered the movie industry in Nigeria which is called Nollywood,.abi? Is that not dumb? Okay, where are your video cassettes now? Does that mean that your video cassettes Nollywood is dead remaining the Yoruba cinema, films etc Nollywood? By streaming now,Yorubas have pioneered another Nollywood, abi? ![]() Dumbness at its peak! |
What is the argument now? Who started Nollywood and own it? ![]() The Nigerian Movie Industry was nicknamed Nollywood by a US movie analyst in line with Hollywood and Bollywood. Yorubas were the first to do acting, theatre plays, films, cinemas. etc. 20 years or more after,Igbos were the first to put the movie industry on video. Till date, streaming et al Yorubas are the best in the movie industry and they dominate the movie industry with award winning and best selling movies. Not removing the fact that Igbos too are doing good but not as good as the Yorubas. The answer is obvious. Nowhere can you see a list of the best movies in Nigeria that Igbos will have even 20 out of 200 but you will see the one that Yorubas will pick 170 or more out of 200. They are the owners and pioneers of arts, movies etc in Nigeria. The Afrobeat created by the Yorubas is what what is making waves even abroad now. The problem with you Igbos is you are too emotional to accept that Yorubas are your benefactors, helpers and senior brother in achievements.. I don't want to use superior because it sounds demeaning. You are lucky that you have somebody..a people..that you are looking up to and trying to catch up with in Africa cohabiting with you in Nigeria. |
Yoruba started Nollywood and they own it by still being the best till date. He can even post that his father is the richest man in the world, followed by his mum. Nobody will sanction him. You can post whatever you want on your blog. If you want people to see how developed your Igboland is,post the videos. I have seen all the videos from SE Igboland,I can post them but I want you to brag with your underdevelopment . that Igboland is compared to Ibadan city. The only bragging place in the SE is a few areas in the tiny 52sq km Onitsha. If you have the balls and you are truly a freeborn, post different 10 good places in Igboland and compare with Ibadan. I am posting 20 different areas in Ibadan. I still have many more if only you can post only 10 good videos of different places from Alaigbo. CSTRR:We should go to the street to count petty traders and gala hawkers or what? Poverty makes you stay and roam about in the street. All the facts including the ones from UNDP,WORLD BANK show that from the inception of Nigeria till date,Yorubas have always been the richest both in Nigeria and as Nigerians abroad. They have the highest number of professors, lawyers, doctors, engineers, real estate practitioners(an Haven for billionaires...Yorubas control almost 70% of this sector....ICT,only GLO in ICT swallows whatever you want to believe you have not to talk of Flutterwave,Esusu etc) How can you even use your petty trading to equate massive businesses owned by the Yorubas in Nigeria and abroad. Moreover, only the city of Ibadan has more infrastructures than the entire Igboland SE. It has the highest number of more than 11 GRAs and still counting in Nigeria. Please, don't be a clown. |
CarlosTheJackal:Nollywood is just a name,a nomenclature given by a US movie analyst just like Hollywood and Bollywood. Does it mean that it is that analyst that started movies in Nigeria? |
ValarDoharis:Igbos started it. A few Yorubas just say the truth with a lot of evidences and not propaganda just to put them in their place. We can live amicably without abusing the other and trying to belittle the other tribes. In most sectors of achievements not all,Yorubas come tops but they don't beat their chests and prick it in the eyes of fellow Nigerians or even Africans. lol All the same,it has now become a kind of game. ![]() |
CSTRR:lol So saying the truth is now termed as tribalism. You don begin cry victim again and do you want to rewrite history about movies, arts, entertainment in Nigeria? Yorubas taught Igbos acting. Without acting,no cinema, video etc. They brought acting,tv,cinemas to Nigeria,so why would you argue with them if they say they are the pioneers? Without them, there will be nothing like movies in Nigeria. Please, give it to the Yorubas in arts and entertainment. They brought it and still ride it like a horse. ![]() Pls,give it to the Swesterners, your leader in arts and entertainment. |
igwebuike01:So those ones above were not commercial? They were produced and kept in the cupboard ![]() Either commercial or whatever,Yorubas are the pioneers and they have the highest selling movies ever in Nigeria. |
igwebuike01:lol You are laughable. What do you mean by commercial, sir. I told you that the movies that have made the most money are the ones made by Yoruba. Either in the English Language or local languages. These are the best commercially viable movies in the history of Nollywood. All done by Yorubas. Since Hubert Ogunde and co started it till date. No other movies beat them. Here are the top 5 highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time. 1. LagosPrince:These are the best Nollywood movies ever. All by Yorubas.. Did you know that Nollywood is the world’s second-largest film industry? Thanks to impressive storytelling and premium production qualities, Nollywood films are considered one of Nigeria’s major exports. This is seen in both their international recognition and heavy revenue. In 2021, the industry was worth $6.4 billion, contributing roughly 2.3% and $660 million to the country’s GDP in 2020.
