Haba! This is not true. IRCC says international students can study online in their respective countries till December this year. And it will be counted towards PGWP.

Please verify information before posting.

IRCC has stated clearly and someone posted it some weeks ago that the time u spent studying online before your Visa approval will not be counted wen calculating time studied 4 ur PGWP

Lufthansa Air, 10:55pm 2nd September, 2021.

Got to the airport around 6:30/7pm.

2 big bags with one weighing 23.83kg and the other 23.38kg, hand luggage weighing 8.4kg or so, and I also carried a laptop bag, with my laptop and some clothes in it.

I was asked for covid test result(I did the test on 1st September), passport wit my visa, wen she saw a student visa, I was asked for enrolment letter. My bags got checked in and I was given my 3 boarding cards (Lagos to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Toronto, Toronto to Windsor), and also a card to fill my details and destination. I had my ArriveCAN but I wasn't asked for it. My younger bro was asked for it wen he traveled last week.

Moved to the boarding gate, only one man asked for money and I tell baba say e nor dey. I met with the immigration officer and gave him the card. The boarding gate queue dey long die, try get to the airport early to check-in.

At the boarding gate, I was asked for passport and covid test result. My hand luggage was weighed again and it was like 9kg+ and the lady told me itz supposed to be 8kg but I should go.....Datz wat she told everyone sha.

Plane took off around 11:45pm. Please hold a jacket, it was very cold for me, I was actually having a sick feeling guess it was cuz of d covid vaccine, but generally it was still cold. I wore my jacket with my hands in d pocket and I used the blanket to cover my head. Lufthansa Air was great generally, especially for movie and music lovers, food too was good.

Got to Frankfurt at abt 6am naija time. Moved to my boarding gate and check-in started almost immediately, I just showed them boarding pass and covid test result. Frankfurt to Toronto via Air Canda. It was also an excellent one, wasn't really cold I knw, bit still did d same jacket and scarf style lol....Dat 2nd covid vaccine do me strong tin. We were told that the flight is full, so only one hand luggage is allowed. So extra hand luggage were checked-in for free. I checked-in my own, so I was left only with my laptop bag.

Got to Toronto at 12:35pm Toronto time, and next flight to Windsor was scheduled for 2:15pm. I scanned my passport and filled my details online by myself using the self service machine, which den generated a ticket for me, then, I moved to the officer. Showed her the ticket with my passport and she asked;

Why are you coming to Canada? I am coming to study
What school? University of Windsor
What program? Master of Medical Biotechnology....Masters? Wow!!!
So why did you choose to come study in Canada? Cuz UWindsor offers my program as an accelerated program, and I will complete the program under just 16months, so I had to forgo other options and settle for Canada.
Are you fully vaccinated? Yes. Kindly show me ur proof of vaccination, I brought out my card and she checked.
She said my last dose was 31st August, I said and she told me I'll av to quarantine for 14days wich I told her I'm aware of, so she gave me the quarantine booklet to take along and read.
Do you have food items, alcohol or tobacco in ur bag? No! Are u sure? Yes I am.
Do you have a place to quarantine? I said yes, and I gave her my house address. What place is this, hotel or where? I told her it's a rented house, I have my private room upstairs with two other rooms but the occupants are not in town yet until 17th wich is the last day of my quarantine, so I have the washroom to myself. She said that's good, she gave me a ticket and directed me on where to go.

I met with a Ghanaian man. He asked for my passport.

What program? I answered

Show me your vaccination card....I showed him and he told me abt quarantine, which I told him I am aware of.
So he stood up and printed my study permit and told me to follow a particular procedure at the back of the permit, in case I dnt finish my program by December and all. He also told me to focus on my studies that Canada is a good place, that he is advising me cuz I am his fellow West African lol.

So I moved to carry my bags, I wait taya....I got all my bags at exactly 2:14pm. Did covid test, and I was also given the kit for my day 8 testing. Got to the terminal and I was told my flight had gone already.

I was given another boarding pass for 9pm, and I was told it's nt sure, I will only get in of someone doesn't show up. While waiting, I bought pringles and water with 100usd, and I was given my change in cad. US$100 was changed for 121cad. Unfortunately, I ddnt get in, but one Indian guy was lucky to get in, only one space was left.

I was given another one for 9am on 4th September, and I was also told itz nt sure, only if someone doesn’t come but I was only sure of Sunday, 5th September, 9am....So I was given a pending boarding pass for 4th, and a real one for 5th. I slept on d floor at Toronto airport. The cold was killing!!! I wore like 4 more clothes under my jacket and 2 clothes to cover my head. I was lucky to move with the 9am flight yesterday. Toronto to Windsor was just abt 40mins. Apparently, my bags got to visit Windsor before me loool.

Airport taxi from Windsor Airport to my apartment in Josephine Avenue was around 25cad.

Ah! No application… it’s just to start afresh then. It is well. Agents have done more havoc than good.

You need to know what has happened with your former application, so you can also know how to re-apply.

Can someone who hasn't done biometrics get a 5year ban? Like i stated in my story previously, my former agent never disclosed the reason for not getting a biometrics request letter for more than a year. And upon collecting the GCKey, we tried it and discovered it has been revoked. I guess it expired.

This is just unfortunate. This ban has happened since May and you’re just getting to find out. This is just wickedness on the part of the agent. Somebody paid for your service and you are deliberately using duplicated documents, knowing fully well what the implications are.

I don’t even know what to advise. The circumstances here are grave. Hopefully you get feedback from one of the gurus soon. It is well

Good evening Nairalanders, this is quite long but bear with me. Earlier this year (2021) I was referred to a page on IG that handles Canada study visa called “ Wokostravelofficial” . They apparently were into securing admissions for interested people at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada and I secured their services. After making all payments to one Kinsley Onuchukwu GTB 0568656274 (handler of the Wokos page) and successfully securing the admission, we moved on to the visa application stage and this is where things started going sideways.

While waiting on this, I also applied to another Canadian institution (Niagara College, Canada) and was offered an acceptance to the Broadcasting program with a co-op work permit attached to it but decided to use the Manitoba admission for my study visa since it came before the other Niagara own and I had already began the study visa process but I planned to switch when i eventually got the study visa.

After providing all the required documents needed for visa application ( international passport, my sponsors bank statement of 12M Naira and sponsorship letter, CAC documents, filling my family information form) to “ Wokos”, my application was submitted in early February 2021 and a week later I was invited to do biometrics screening which I did at the VFS center in Lekki.

Months passed and no feedback from the embassy and every time I messaged this guy he always give me different excuses ( COVID, this , that) so I lockup. He refused to give me the details to my IRCC login claiming he is handling many applications and cannot give the login details to everyone so any messages or requests from IRCC that I receive on my email I would have to ask him before he even tells me what was going on and which documents they were requesting for ( NSE documents like IELTS and Mybankstatement)

Eventually after a 5 months wait, he eventually sent me the rejection mail on the 24th of June claiming my application was unsuccessful . I was devastated and asked him if I could immediately request for my GCMS note to know the real reason my application was rejected but he insisted that I would have to wait for at least two months before even applying for GCMS. I doubted it but I waited, a month later in late July, I asked again about applying for GCMS note but he still dismissed it so I took the incentive and made some research on how to apply myself and I did.

After a month and some days later, I received the GCMS today (3rd of September 2021) and I am shocked to find out that they used duplicated documents for my study visa applications that had already been used in several other applications and I was being accused of fraudulent documentation and misrepresentation and being hit with a 5 years ban from all Canada visa applications .

The annoying part alongside this is that this agent was given some time ( June to July) to inform me on the misrepresentation allegations and to challenge it if need be but he did not and if I had not applied for the GCMS note myself I wouldn’t even know that I had been banned for 5 years. Also because Canada, US and Australia share information and data base I have also been told that the chances of me getting a visa in those 3 countries are now slim to none.

I would appreciate any information and ideas on the important next steps I would need to take to possibly appeal this ban. 5 years no be joke ��‍♂️. Please help a brother out ��

Your PPR would have dropped any moment now, because most May applicants are receiving theirs. Please go and do your medicals ASAP.

In this world wahala no dey finish. So here I am with a PPR and no Admission. I was withdrawn from my program and my tuition deposit of 2000 CAD is forfeited. Sigh!!

What's the process of changing my DLI please? And will it cost anything? My initial admission was for a year program which means I will have to enroll for another of 6months or longer to get the 3yr PGWP. My intended DLI is university of Manitoba. I am still search if I can get a longer program with them. I intend to do applied business analysis as I have an MBA already. Please gurus your input is needed.
