The Governor of Abia State Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu continued his Statewide project tour today.

The Governor was accompanied by the Speaker, Abia State house of Assembly Rt.Hon.Chikwendu Kalu, Elder Statesman Chief Tony Ukasanya, Commissioners and other top Government officials.

After laying a foundation for the auto industrial and Mechanic Spare parts cluster at Ovom in Obingwa, the Governor and his entourage visited Okpokiri-Umuchim Umuru ring road at Isialangwa south LGA. Work is seriously going on at the over 10km Isialangwa road.

At the Umuaro-Umuanunu- Ekwereazu- Akwaibom road, the Contractor is asphalting the remaining part of the road. The road is key to Abia economy as it leads directly to Ikotekpene in Akwaibom State. Our quest for regional integration is being demonstrated by the Governor's resolve to connect Abia back to our neighboring States through his network of roads in the State.

Umuobiakwa -Owo- Onichangwa road in Obingwa was also a major project visited today. The 10km road is taking great shape. Already, the contractor has completed drainage on both sides, done the necessary earth work, done stone base for over 4km and ready for asphalt. It is also a major economic road that cuts across communities in the State.

Ururuka road is progressing rapidly. Ururuka is at Obingwa, another gateway to Umuahia through Ogbohill popularly called old Umuahia road. The road has been dualized with drainage on both sides. The Contractor is working hard to finish the remaining portion.

Dr.Ikpeazu inspected the ongoing construction of the third model school that is being built in the State at Obingwa Local Government.

Recall that Abia Government flagged of reconstruction of 132 schools and construction of 4 model schools across Abia State. The projects are at advanced stages.

He inspected a facility where Iron gates, streetlight poles, Chairs are fabricated. The facility also has departments for sowing and brick making. Manages by Chief Raymond Aliga and is at Obingwa LGA.

Ovom Street at Ogbohill has worn a new look. The contractor has asphalted major portion of the road. The road is another route to Ngwa road through good morning Market.

At Eziukwu road, the story is the same. It has giant drainage on both sides. Eziukwu road has a history of over flooding during rainy season. Business owners had lost lots of properties and patronage on that important road during rainy season. There is great hope that the road will be ready soon.

In Abia today, Roads are opening rural Communities as well as economic activities.

Dr.Ikpeazu's train landed at Ifeobara basin at Faulks road. He inspected the underground pipe that carries stomp water from the basin to Waterside thereby making it difficult to experience any form of flooding at Ariaria and the popular Ukwu mango.

millionaireman:

In Owerri, Okorocha has constructed roads even to where people do not live, again builds expensive metal decorators on top of Owerri roads. Rest of Imo state decay. Fools surrounding Okorocha do not tell Okorocha why most of Imo state still resent his govt.

It's only a semi-imbecillle who shall accept that Owerri is all there is for development and greenery in Imo state.

Move down to Orlu, or to other major cities of Imo state that officially existed and treated as urban towns even before Okorocha entered primary school, all you see is decadent roads, floods after tiny rains, hardly any modern infrastructure. Okorocha treats everywhere outside Owerri as rural area only for his convenience.

My brother you need to go to other state and see. States that receives more money like Bayelsa and Delta are not even doing anything Imo state is far better.

The truth is nothing beats having the right man at the right place. Is not tribe based it is who is best qualified.

How can Nigeria move forward when many core northerners are not qualified to head the various agencies they are heading, I say this because I have been to some government establishment where the head can't even speak good English.

Lets end quota system in Education first. And See the bright ones emege.

No it wont happen because the South will take over once again and so we keep going round and round and Nigeria keep getting worst.

Let create mini countries in form of regions so that we will be competing amongst ourselvrs, when the regions become better Nigeria will become better.
