kettle84:Yinmu. If it makes you sleep better at night you are free to believe that even Capetown SA is a no man's land for all i care, but any sane person knows who owns and controls what. While you're at it, please list those Igbo-owned Industries in Lagos and the SW you keep bragging about that can come close to Yorubas' in the region. I guess to your sick mind the following SW based industries are Igbo-owned: Honeywell Flour Mills, GZI Industries, ProForce, Elizade, Bi-Courtney, Eleganza Group, Folawiyo Group, Petro Inett, Modandola Group, Manucom Fishing, Aiico Insurance, the Yoruba-owned banks, Insurance Companies, e.t.c. Even SME's (interestingly, after Lagos state, Oyo has the highest number of SME's in the country, higher than any SE state) we are comfortably in the lead. You know what SME's stand for right? And how many individuals you must employ to qualify as one?) all located in Yorubaland. I am waiting for those Igbo Big Businesses in Lagos and the SW (not 'pure water' ones o) that are more than Yoruba owned ones, and that give you all the ballz to brag. http://nigerianstat.gov.ng/pdfuploads/SMEDAN%202013_Selected%20Tables.pdf Also kindly List the number of Insurance companies players that are Igbo-owned dominating Yorubaland or Nigeria in general. How many Igbo-owned investments comes close to LADOL in Lagos? List the Banks that Igbos dominate that are more than the Yoruba-dominated/controlled Skye Bank, First Bank, Sterling Bank, GTBank, FCMB, e.t.c. List the Telecoms Company that are Igbo-owned/dominated like Yoruba-owned/controlled Globacom and NTel List the I.T businesses that are Igbo dominated that can stand the likes of Spectranet, CCHub, MainOne Which Igbo-owned businesses can match the dominance of Yoruba-controlled Oando, ConOil, and Forte Oil? Chicken Republic, TFC, Tantalizers, Sweet Sensation, Mega Chicken are owned and controlled by Yorubas. The only Transport segment Igbos dominate is that of buses that convey their kinsmen between YOrubaland and the SE. Yorubas control the SW internal routes, e.g. When I take a bus from Lagos to Abeokuta or Ibadan, 9 out of 10 times the owner of the Bus is a Yorubaman and not an Igboman, so get your facts straight. In a nutshell, Yorubas already dominate the Big Businesses and industries that count, e.g Finance, Oil & Gas, I.T, Telecoms, Insurance, Manufacturing & Industry, e.t.c. It would be unfair of us to dominate everything so we've left them the crumbs like dominating the Super-Eagles, Gala Hawking , spare-parts bizness, Selling DVD/VCD at Alaba, Entertainment (though Yorubas dominate the Music scene, while we comfortably have our indigeneous Film industry on lockdown as well ), transporting your kinsmen to-and-from the SE to Yorubaland, e.t.c. Your people can keep dominating those. But even Commerce/trading sef una don dey dump that one sef for drug-trafficking. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/rivers-state-others-have-overtaken-s-east-in-commerce-industry/ Smh. |
OBAFEMIawolowo:Dude why must you lie about your ethnicity?? Everyone here knows you are igbo (including your own kinsmen here), your records are there so i don't get why you lots are so pathetic ans have to act a fooll just to make a point.. And may it not be well with you and your generations if you are denying your ethnicity. Say amen to that prayer if dem born you well. And you are wrong, commissioner for buget planning in Lagos is a Yoruba man. Akabueze was in that position under Fashola, not Ambode. Always do a fact check befire coming here to embarrass yourself. Google is your friend. Use it and save your self d embarrassment please. |
InyinyaAgbaOku:What depressed economies?? Nigga stfu. Your brothers obviously don't agree with your foolish talk coz as i speak they are still migrating en masse to Ogun, Oyo, Lagos etc.for economic survival rather than die of starvation or commit suicide in Anambra, Enugu and the likes. And as per Lagos, Lagos is a SW state in firm control of Yorubas so you can go and hug transformer if you have a problem with that. If the state fails tomorrow your likes will blame it on its Yoruba handlers so we its real owners that have her interest at heart will continue to claim her and work towards her progress. Name one SE state that can boast of the economic importance of Ogun state, another Yoruba/SW state that your vagabond kinsmen are also flocking to. Not one single one. Be it in industries and manufacturing concerns, FDI, GDP, IGR, you name it. I dare you to. |
kettle84:Yinmu. Lagos is a SW state in firm control of Yorubas so you can go and hug transformer if you have a problem with that. If the state fails tomorrow your likes will blame it on its Yoruba handlers so make we hear word please. Name one SE state that can boast of the economic importance of as Ogun state, another Yoruba/SW state that your vagabong kinsmen are also flocking to. Not one single one. Be it in industries and manufacturing concerns, FDI, GDP, IGR, you name it. I dare you to. |
9jasite:Poppycock. You don shift goal post from Lagos to FG abi? I thought you were going to show us how Akabueze and your phantom igbo technocrats were responsible for the Lagos miracle. How many Igbos technocrats are in Ambode and his purely Yoruba cabinet's admin? And as for NOI, you must think you are talking to to tots coz all knowledgeable folks are aware that even she forecasted a recession since as far back as 2012, and even warned before her handover tgat the country's economy was already in recession and was even borrowing billions of dollars to pay salaries. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/06/okonjo-iweala-warns-of-economic-recession/ |
9jasite:You are trying to be clever by half but fooling yourself. Akabueze didn't do anything special. Lagos still used debt financing under his short stint like every other time under others in his position. yorubas have been the primary drivers of the lagos success story. igbo capitalist or whatever have little to insignificant input in the administrative success of Lagos. you can't rewrite history with your half baked and jaundiced nonsense. |
9jasite:Weak. Why not refute me by mentioning those SE technocrats that saved lag but can't help se from perpetual emigration. ![]() |
Lagos is spared due to south East technocrats that have been engaged in the economic planning ministries of the state. This quote right here exposes the reason why Yorubaland should be wary of these lying and incorrigible braggarts from that corridor. Their supposedly better technocrats have so far failed woefully to stem the tide of mass emigration perpetually afflicting their region and make it the envy of the rest of the country, yet dem still no humble. These parasitic loudmouths still depend on other regions [especially the SW] for economic survival owing to the non-viability of their home region, yet they just can't help themselves when it comes to their signature delusional posturing. I guess Leo Stan was right afterall about his own people. |
Even if MMM comes back up, I will still be skeptical of it because the moment the likes of yahoo boys and clever fraudsters figure out how the system works, na to invade am and destroy whatever is left of its integrity. No be Nigeria? |
felicitywe:You are correct, just as Zik betrayed/backstabbed Ojukwu during Biafra, Ngige betrayed/backstabbed Chris Uba, Obiano betrayed/backstabbed Peter Obi, and TA Orji betrayed/backstabbed OUK. You are very light my bloder. ![]() |
Seriously and jokes apart, the erosion menace in Anambra is serious cause for concern. A thread was opened earlier wherein Obiano said half of the entire state could be lost to erosion if something is not done fast: https://www.nairaland.com/3509894/gov-obiano-calls-fg-declare Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Governor Obiano who revealed that their discussion centered on the numerous erosion challenges facing state, pointed out that if nothing is done in the coming years, the State would have lost half its size to the environmental problem. That's some serious stuff right there. The FG should come to the state's aid, sharply. We can't afford to lose half of the state to the menace. Real talk. |
T8ksy:Tell 'em! ![]()

TheEastActivist:Smh.
|
TheEastActivist:You are a fvcking shameless hypocrite. Aren't you the same person who vehemently denied the veracity of the news when it broke yesterday, throwing tantrums and calling that ijebuloaded op names and making a big f.oo.l of yourself? https://www.nairaland.com/3508795/fg-school-feeding-programme-begins#51756779 Now you don change tone. See your life?? Smh. So pathetic it ain't even funny. |
Fake news and propaganda from Lagos/Ibadan expressway in the Southwa.s.te. Obiano would never allow this in the great Anambra state. Those kids must be from Osun. ![]() Cc: theEastActivist ![]() |
raumdeuter:My brother, na poverty dey pursue dem from dat side. But can you really blame them? If I was an igboman in igboland sef I go follow port to the West side -- the Best side. God punish poverty. |

Obiano could never have said that. Cc: theEastActivist ![]() |
ijebuloaded:Guy, abeg free dem to continue entertaining us. Even when Obiano himself do press release about am, dem still no go gree say na true, in fact dem go ask to see pix of him or his children tasting the food It's like you don't know these folks. Lol. |

Itesiwaju eko lo je wa l'ogun. |
And so continues the omoluabi poaching ... |
mightyhazell:Yeah, and yet since independence no single SE state is even mentioned among the top 5 economic contributors in Nigeria alone, not to talk of Africa. Doesn't charity begin at home again?? I think what you meant to say is that Nigeria will become the drug-trafficking capital of the world within 5 years. Sometimes I wonder the kind of egbo some of you smoke before typing. lol |
maywes:Yeah, the same way Saraki has been punished for 'anti-party activities'. What a bunch of jokers. |
Rilwayne001:Babanla scammer ni Buhari. APC = 'Born Again' PDP. ![]() |
Yyeske: O.k. But that still doesn't make Anambra the 'Economic Heartbeat of Nigeria' now, does it? ![]() |
Yyeske:Guy, the onus is on you to verifiably calculate the state's GDP data to prove your point, since you reject whatever's already out there. Until then, your argument will remain in the realm of speculation and personal opinion -- and everyone's got an opinion. |
Call07034780891:Yes, from Lagos Island. My compound dey Isale Eko. Why the question? |
Yyeske:Sincerely, I've only been to Onitsha, and that was a few years back. But I don't need to visit every state in Nigeria to measure their impact. In the SE Anambra may be pre-eminent in terms of industry, but there's no point in ridiculing her strides via needless overhypes and false propaganda. |
Yyeske:This isn't about pitting Imo to Anambra. I merely compared the same Anambra with a fellow SE state in terms of available GDP benchmark data. If you dispute that data, which is within your right, get a more reliable one to prove your point. For all the noise you all make about this state, it is barely making a dent on the country's GDP, be it in industry or economically as it's not even a top 10 contributor to the national commonwealth. There should be a limit to hype and propaganda please. Some of your should cultivate the habit of restraint abeg. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/rivers-state-others-have-overtaken-s-east-in-commerce-industry/ |
Yyeske:Lol. I actually used to think you had a bit of sense in you until you asked this dumb question. The caption/title of this thread alone is a fallacy. lol. How on God's green earth can any sane person say Anambra is the 'Economic Heartbeat of Nigeria'? The VP certainly couldn't have made such a sweepingly false and misleading statement. Where would that leave higher and more prominent contributors to the Nigerian economy like the Lagos, the Niger-Delta States, e.t.c?? How much is Anambra's GDP contribution compared to even Imo state sef not to talk of other prominent contributors? You see, it's wild and sensational exaggerations like this that make you all the butt of jokes on here, especially that government hireling that initiated this thread. You should sometimes be mindful that some of us are actually intelligent enough not to fall for such foolishness. |
