2. The i- pod: No one needs use their sense of sight, just to enjoy great music. Just spice up the action, by adding the recipient’s favorite style of music and artists, before presenting this wonderful gift.

Soo... ...the guilt of always attaching a cane and sunglasses, to almost all blind persons in my thoughts Picking out gifts for the blind can very well be compared to gift-shopping for someone with sight...as you'd want to pick out something that a recipient with sight, will also find 'useful'. So here are some practical/tactile gift ideas that may appeal to blind people; 1. Braille Templates; Blind people (especially those who were born blind) could learn to read and write, using raised letters on a template.

You wish to destroy your life, when people with terminal diseases are begging to live? Unfair. In actuality, who owns your life? It's you. Who controls your sadness and happiness? You again! So why can't you just stay rational for goodness sake? Will suicide alleviate the problem? No. Will you be leaving more probs behind? Yes! In addition to the probs on ground, you wish to black-mark your family name, so that 30 years from now, someone will still say, " You had an uncle Mxxpunkxx, that took his own life. God rest his soul. Just hope and pray that it's not in the genetics". And are you not scared of the unknown? Even atheists are oo. Everyone that talks about death, keeps mentioning peace peace peace...do you know anyone that has gone and come back to confirm this myth? Hmmn. My brother, just hang in there. I know you truly do not want to die but just want the pain to stop. So leave that place/ situation or problem that makes you consider suicide. It is very possible for you to recover from your problem or problems and live out the rest of your life happily. There are few to no problems in this world that can be solved by suicide. |
This party happened a while back but the photos are just coming out! Candy ‘Fabulous’ Abeni celebrated her 30th birthday party on October 14th at Oriental Hotel, Lagos. All the party guests got Louis Vuitton gift bags with LV key holders, cufflinks, mufflers, phone cases inside the bags.http://www.google.com/url?q=http://lindaikeji..com/2012/11/photos-from-salawa-abenis-daughters.html&sa=U&ei=afCaULzxNM-Thgfds4HQAw&ved=0CBUQFjAA&usg=AFQjCNHMsD2Tai5Bc6kXJ4DDa8xZu3MAEQ ![]() |

Trust my Ivy to ask a question and give an answer immediately. ![]() Of cos, trust is the cornerstone of all relationships, so when I share my password with you, I do so only because I trust that you respect me enough to never use it. The notion that we could be so open with our partners as to not care if he or she knew who else we were communicating with, and how, is ideal. But on the other hand, it’s a little weird, in that everyone should be entitled to a reasonable degree of privacy....even though they're married. I would not always fancy the mediation of a partner, when I'm texting a male buddy, as misunderstanding could set in. It all boils down to the line drawn by an individual between cheating and privacy anyway. Some can say cheating begins where she texts a man, even if her action has no romantic attachment whatsoever. While others would consider it to be cheating, if there's romantic attachment, but she still does not follow up in real life. Everything just depends on the kind of person you're with. Just choose your partner right, is all. And while you may think all women would be against this, you'd be surprised that a few would come here and disagree totally...."individuality" indeed. ![]() |
Amen Joan: I shd have included an only cash gifts note in the invitations. I still have a room full of glassware & other non essesntials that I may not exhaust in 5yrs. I shd have cut down on party favours, though I plan to give out the rest for our anniversary.Yeah, I noticed that a lot of Naija people give glasses as wedding gifts...hmmn. Anyway, at all at all is the devil. ![]() |
Is there something you wish you had done differently, on or before your wedding day? Or perhaps it's not at your wedding/ you're unmarried, but still noticed a few things at other people's, that could've been better? You could be saving intending couples from the frustration, with any info you can share. Be you a man or a woman. In restrospect, I never would've sold aso-ebi. Laye Laye. Or I prolly should've given out the gifts that go with them, the same time I was distributing them. Cos never did I imagine that a single person could buy only a six-yard bundle, share among one million family members of his, and then set them to struggle for 'their right' at the wedding....If only the wahala stops there. The rightful owners are still asking for their gifts till date. I also would've eaten before allowing myself, be zapped away to the church and reception venue, to suffer long hours of starvation, while the guests smacked down on those chicken laps. Tsk tsk tsk. And worse, our pick-up ride was late. This is like a major wedding challenge for everyone. I should've asked the driver to sleep over at our place, and inside the vehicle, just so they won't magically lose themselves or their way, when they're supposed to be taking us to the venue. How about you? Any regrets? Share. |
Hehe. They practically listed everywhere in the country. |

The 2012 Rafto Prize was awarded to Nnimmo Bassey in recognition of his long-term fight for people’s right to life, health, food and water in a world affected by complex and threatening climate change and mass environmental destruction. Through his rights based work and criticism of prevailing systems, Bassey has shown how human rights can help mitigate the effects of these changes. - My engagement in the struggle for environmental rights as human rights has spanned two decades thus far. My people say “the environment is our life,” and I totally agree. This award comes as en encouragement, and as a huge challenge, because the struggle continues until victory is won not just in Nigeria or Africa, but globally, said Bassey The Rafto Prize award ceremony took place at the National Stage, Bergen, Norway, from 6pm to 7.30pm on Sunday 4 November. Nnimmo Bassey, the 2012 Rafto Prize laureate, received a diploma and prize money of 20 000 USD. Several artists contributed during the award ceremony honouring the 2012 Rafto Prize laureate. These were Carte Blanche, Monica Ifejilika, Gabriel Fliflet, Arme Riddere, STOMP, TAAO and actors from the National Stage, Bergen. Master of ceremonies was Agnete G. Haaland, artistic director of the National Stage, Bergen. The ceremony was followed by a torchlight procession. http://www.rafto.no/page/820/ The_Rafto_Prize

Eye opener indeed. We do know now why there are more women than men, in the world. |
Actually, they're quite hot! Wowww. A lot of chicks (real ones now) would give anything to be half as cute as these ![]() ...and someone would wonder why there seem to be more women than men in the world. ![]() |

I also implore you, Esteemed Members, to properly use your good discretion when attempting to post the ONLY "acceptable" type of topic, on this board; the EVENTS- related one. This is very important, as Event- related topics seem similar, but are different from Celebrity topics, Crime topics and Politics-related topics. For example, a typical Celebrity- related topic, that is similar to an Event- related one, would be this; https://www.nairaland.com/1092902/plz-why-did-goldie-prezzo#12822391 You must have noticed that the focus is heavier on the Celebrity Goldie, than on the event that took place. And then, an Event- related topic that can be confused with a Celebrity-related one would be ; https://www.nairaland.com/1085382/toju-foyeh-store-opening-photos#12709193 Here, the focus is more on what this section requires; the Event; what took place - the Shop Opening. Not the star Tiwa Savage. Yes I understand that the line between both topic types is quite thin, but with our utmost discretion, we would do fine at telling the differences between them, from time to time....lest the purpose of having this wonderful section of ours, be defeated. Permit me to quickly clarify further that the acceptable Events- related topics, are NOT inclusive of Event- related ADVERTS, as another special board is in existence, that best satisfies such goals. For Advert Postings (All postings containing Addresses of Offices/ Shops and Phone Numbers), please follow these links; https://www.nairaland.com/adverts https://www.nairaland.com/1049481/placing-adverts-nairaland#12194252 Thank you for your cooperation. ![]() |

The location where they settle to eat shouldn't exactly matter if you ask me. Not because I feel that they're sub-persons, but because I know that they could be suffering worse fates by not having anything to eat at all. Personally, I don't mind not eating with the fam every once in a while too. I enjoy my company a lot. |
